This is a really delightful area of Brisbane. We really enjoy to have a wander along under the most magnificent big old trees!!! The beautiful grassed long walking area is directly on the river. It is generally very quiet as the speed limit for cars nearby is low 50 kph. It is not usually crowded and people sometimes hang out in small groups or walk their dog. The peace is only disturbed by the occasional jet ski but the passing CityCat transport doesn't really make a lot of noise. We find it interesting to check out the artwork on each City Cat. It seems this weekend they were all the Brisbane sport teams painted vessels ie the Lions, Maroons, Reds etc.

This is such a lovely park. It has nice playgrounds for all ages with swings, slides or tube to climb. The council keeps the park in a very good condition. The grass is beautiful and clean. Trees are awesome and perfect for climbing. It also has a nice view of the river and it is great to come with friends or family for a picnic or just for having a relaxing time or party. Many people celebrate birthdays here. You can get there riding your bike or by driving. There is plenty of space to park but it gets very busy sometimes. There are toilets always very clean. There is an area for working out.

It would be hard to give this park any less than 5 stars. The mornings here are so peaceful, the feeling is comparable to a morning walk on the beaches of the Sunshine Coast. The evenings here are just as nice and have a very chilled vibe. Looking for a picnic location, put this one high on your list. There is a lot of open space so wear your Sunscreen for a midday visit.
Restrooms
Reasonably clean
Dog-friendliness
No savagery that I've seen so far, it's Westend, everyone own dogs that fit in your back pocket so chances are everyone will be fine.
Picnic area
Ideal!

The LNP dominated Brisbane City Council clearly doesn't like spending money on a competitors electorate. Its 2023, and the whole suburb including Orleigh Park has brown dead grass. Theres an infinite supply of water if we install permanent irrigation and use desalination - both VERY OLD technology. The toilets in Orleigh Park are an abomination, and the children's playground is routinely sprayed with Glyphosate weed killer - a probable carcinogen ("cost effective"). Thats BCC love for you. Instead, this park should be a shining jewel in an inner city environment. Appalling.

I lived near this park for about 1 year and can honestly say I visited it nearly everyday of the week for the entirety of the time I lived there. Its a large open park great for family, corporate and religious functions. Plenty of space to kick a ball around. The river runs along the whole park and the scenery is really lovely. There are two playgrounds along the stretch of park. The one with the frog tongue is better by far. Really nice layout, played tip there with the kids many times. Honestly recommend for anyone who wants to relax next to a nice quiet river.

Awesome park. It is a good picnic spot for your weekend, even the place is good for studying. Park has all basic ambience link barbecue, resting island, jogging track, not the least a good player zone for the kids. Where we can see most of children playing. The important activity is fishing too, so fishers this is the place you would like. The jogging track is also good and it is sure that a few couple of round will surely burn your carbohydrates. There are few barbecue available as compare to connected island. Note : You have to come early to occupy barbecue.

My first time there at this quiet little river front park. Perched at the southern end of West end it has public bbq's with Citycat pontoon,a few little swings for kids, plenty of shade and adequate parking. Some public exercise equipment and toilets.Great spot to pack an esky with BBQ stuff, more ideal for little kids than bigger ones.( mums and dads know what I mean) But certainly a pretty quiet spot to lunch, read a book or have a family get together. I'm not local so not sure how busy weekends may get ,keep in mind there's only a couple of bbq's.

  • Runmaster Supreme

It's fine during the day, quite pleasant in fact with toilets, childrens play area and also health and fitness equipment. It boast several gazebo style dining areas that have free to use electric barbeques and free, on street parking up to 4 hours. The childrens play area isn't very large but it has fun written all over it with a sway chair, giant frogslide and climbing bars. Sadly however, in the early mornings and late evenings it attracts a certain element you'd most likely want to avoid. I personally would be cautious from 7pm - 7am

Orleigh Park has it all...large grassed area, wonderful kids playground, adults exercise equipment, bike path to suit Tour de France training, splendid walking path and, wait for it...lots of huge trees for cool shade in summer and all this on the banks of the Brisbane River. Did I mention that there is also good parking, buses and CityCats to the park. Woo hoo...meet you there!

I grew up in the Hill End Area during mid 1950's up until the end of the 1960s and have very fond memories of living and playing around in the Orleigh Park area as a child. I still visit the area and walk around the park. It's a great place for families to visit, have barbecues, and you can catch the City Cat and joy ride to other destinations and into the city. There are Council toilet facilities that are clean and include the electric barbecues through the park. Go for a drive and check it out.

  • Cleeve88

I bring my two little ones here a few times a week for a play. The Frog playground is huge and the kids love it. Lots of shade from the big trees and a combo of nature and play equipment to explore. I would feel a bit less 'on-edge' watching them if there was a little more fencing down the river end (because, of course, my kids go off in different directions!) The toilets there aren't the worst I've ever seen, but could certainly use a birthday. The park overall is very well maintained.

  • Simo Calandra

Really nice Park and picnic area of West End. It could certainly improve with the installation of more benches and tables as there aren't many available so be prepared to bring your camping chairs or something to put on the grass. There are public toilets and a small play area forbids which is a plus for families. There are also a decent amount of parking lots as well as on street parking available. Take some bikes or skateboards as you can go for a great ride along the river.

  • BeardeDragon77

A very nice open park right on the river, with awesome fig trees and others to sit under. There are a handful of tables and chairs, electric cooking facilities, a toilet block and a kids playground that is very popular. It can get very busy with alot of people around on the weekend. Also a good place to see the sunset and watch the bats come out for the night from across the river. Pets are welcome although council rules state dogs need to be on lead. Fishing is welcome too.

  • Shanice

Beautiful park - kids playground is okay, just be mindful of the beautiful Brisbane River especially with little ones as there is no gate blocking the river & them so they can fall- so parents stay off your phone's!!! Watch your little one. The only cons I have is the toilets are usually very dirty and bins are very full overflowing with rubbish. And just watch out for Glass my daughter's foot got cut open last visit...

  • Swati Srivastava

It is a beautiful park along Brisbane River. It has slides and swings and other attractions for kids. Evenings generally see a lot of kids and parents around this place. It has public toilet, public gym, drinking water, tables and barbecue. Ideal place for spending some quality time with family. Often we find people fishing in front of the parks and kids are amused to see if someone finds a fish.

  • Kusnadi Halim Salim

Walking along the footpath that's literally at the river's bank is awesome since you can hear the water rippling softly. Lots of exercise machine too for young and elderly to enjoy. Plenty of BBQ pits to go around too, with excellent connection by both bus and ferry to the City. Bring your own food and drinks to truly immerse in the sanctuary of Brisbane River, or come after your meal at West End

  • zoe mullen

Orleigh Park is a wonderful place for picnics, barbecues, parties and so much more. It offers a huge adventurous park for all ages, with a beautiful lush green field for kids to run and play in, but also for afternoon serene picnic by the river. It welcomes traditions for all families of all diversities and is a top spot for tourists to relax and enjoy their time.

  • jack behrns

Beautiful well maintained park with one of the best kids playgrounds in the area and HEAPS of room to spread out and find your own corner. Public toilets, multiple fenced off leash areas. Long winding walking trail, off street parking that usually has space even at busy times. Ferry terminal at one end. Many scattered jetties that have public access.

  • Marinus Swanepoel

Great park. Easily accessible by bus or CityCat. The park is very long and skinny along the river providing ample space to have riverside picnic. There are grills and picnic tables provided for public use. There are toilets at the South-Westernly corner. At high tide there are a few small and the occasional legal size bream to catch for the fishos.

  • Valerie “V”

Really love this kids play area, it’s big and shady. Good for toddlers as well. There is a swing for babies as well with extra harness. Large grass area to run or play sports for the little ones. Really nice spot to relax as well, watching the boats along the river. There are some tables and chairs. Walking path along the river away from cars.

  • Alex Dunne

A very long, slim parkland inside the river and a semi-major road. Plenty of parking available. Flows nicely into the end of the southern side of the Brisbane River bike/walkway. Never seen the park too busy be it the perfect afternoon or a weekend morning.
Playground
Seems to be a decent enough one
Picnic area
Plenty of spaces

  • Tom Russell

A beautiful and cool park to enjoy on a hot summer's day with a friend, a little pet, or children. Plenty of parking, close to a bus or the ferry for an extra thrill. Great amenities with exercise bars for kids and adults, or just sit under a shaded bench and table and enjoy the view across the Brisbane river as the ferries glide past.

  • renee gray

A fantastic park for everyone. Heaps of play equipment for the kids and in fact there are a number of spots along this broad walk that has play equipment. Great BBQ facilities close by. Covered pagodas. Exercise equipment for the outdoor gym focused people and all with a beautiful view. A park that suits all ages as well.

  • Brendan Greenhalgh

Huge park on the river with playgrounds, toilets and dog off leash areas. Heaps of on street parking and some off street parking. Heaps of grass for running around or picnics. Great for families and little ones. Ferry terminal and bus stop nearby, access to the city or further up river if you're into walking or biking.

  • Vasiliky Dimi

Orleigh Park is one of my favourite parks in Brisbane. The energy of the land there is incredibly warm and welcoming and perfect for Tarot Readings. I love when the elements come out to play for example the wind picking up a card and turning it over, the birds coming to greet us or say hello ️ …

  • JAMES ODONOGHUE

Great park for recreation and other relaxing activities such as picnics and BBQ s etc ! Riverside aspect s is great! A city cat ferry terminal is nearby! There is only a few picnic tables available so be early if you need a table Toilets are nearby! The fig trees which adorn the park simply magnificent

  • Qaasin Shariif

Awesome view, huge and great to have picnic and bbq here with family. I just passed by here last week, planning to get my family here to spend great time here. Saw some people having a great time with these place. I wanted to experience the joy I see in their eye how much they love and enjoy the place!

  • hani Alb

great view and BBQ available in 2 sights. Also 2 wonderful playground area. it is just 19 minutes from the city. I recommend this park for relaxing Sunday with the kids. However you need to be carefull for the young kids because there is no fences between the park and the riverside.

  • Jordan Honey

A beautiful park by the river. A few different playground sections, which the little kids loved. There are lots of trees for shade, the public toilets were ok (for public toilets) , and lots of parking on the street. We had a picnic set up and really enjoyed the park and surrounds.

  • Dan's Custom Car Lights

Beautiful Brisbane April evening was spent walking by the river with family and friends. Large numbers of people were out enjoying the experience of relaxing together, sharing a picnic meal, socializing, exercising or even fishing. A great place for the body, mind and soul.

  • Anastasi Panayi

Very relaxing. It even has a table tennis court, toilets, kids play ground, ferry and gym what more can you ask for absolutely beautiful. It's very scenic as you go for a walk through the park would highly recommend everybody check Orleigh Park out you won't be disappointed.

Great park! Great playgrounds for younger kids up to 10 on both ends of park, Trees to climb, great BBQ facilities under cover, toilet facilities. Luscious, well maintained grass ❤❤❤ Offleash Dogpark. It is one of my favourite ....the favourite park here in Brisbane

  • Natasha D'Arcy

Beautiful green spaces, a fantastic children's playground and accessible toilets all span along a large stretch of waterfront. So much quieter than New Farm and parking is a breeze. Loads of trendy cafes to choose from nearby. This is a hidden gem in the city!

  • Corina Pelichowski

Thoroughly enjoyed date night here by the water in the late afternoon. Great spot for families as there's a playground but enough space for everyone to enjoy. The tree lit up at night and the public bathroom was well-lit too. Only one stall had paper though.

  • Elisha L

A nice scenic area to relax and have a picnic and get out of the busy streets of the city. You can take a bus or ferry to the area. There aren't a lot of tables / gazebos to sit at so if you're a group on a busy day get there early or have blankets prepared.

  • Wayne Seeto

On a winter day when the sky is clear and blue and the chilling air in the shade is warmed away by a step into the sun, I like to bask with a book, coffee and warm pastry. It's only enhanced by the sounds of people enjoying the park with family and friends.

  • Jess Cumpstay

Great spot for a picnic and to watch the city cats go by. They have BBQs, covered tables, kids playground, gym equipment and toilets. Need to arrive early to nab a covered picnic table though. We arrived around 12pm and had no trouble finding a car park.

  • Alan Johnson

Extremely popular with families with children. Playground is a star attraction and toilets are handy too. Grounds were well established and kept. Bonus points for riverside setting. Parking is on street and was limited due numbers of people there.

  • Brizzy Pix

The perfect spot to enjoy a picnic with family and friends in a relaxed riverside setting. Plenty of tables and chairs and ample green lawns to sit and watch the sun set over the river. A most relaxing location close to the heart of the city

  • Richard Todd

Beautiful park and great place to stop. Has very clean toilets - with seats too!! Great electric BBQs, playground, flying fox, skate park and adjoining public swimming pool. Lovely grass under the trees to sit on as well as shaded picnic tables.

  • Joice Lamego

It's a good place. Anyone would enjoy it, old or young. The park has a path to run or walk, some different playgrounds for kids, seats all the way, beautiful views to the river and large grassy areas with huge trees giving great shades.

  • Reh Bibi

Favourite local park for chilling and family get togethers. Park has trees for shade. There is enough space for casual sports games, flying kites and sunbathing by the river. Undercover picnic areas with clean council bbq facilities.

  • Amyt K

Really nice park to chill with river views.. can be tricky to find parking on the weekends.. 2 kids playground at the park as well.. Would be awesome if the park was bit more lit up at night..but apart from that its a awesome place!

  • John Souza

  • Zeglar “Zeg” Fergus

Grade separated pedestrian pathway with picnic shelters, seating and water available. Separate bike way provides safer access between Hill End Terrace and Riverside Drive. Walking options along the river edge with new seating.

  • Andrew Davies

Great park! Good views, lots of space, pretty relaxing. Only problems are that it has a bit of work going on at the moment and on weekends it can be very difficult to find nearby parking. Amenities are pretty spread out too.

  • Wendy

This is a beautiful park, with plenty of trees and picnic spots next to the river, that stretches long. There are walking and cycling paths, as well as many seating areas and benches where you can relax watching the river.

  • James Green

Plenty of parking. Beautiful views. However the gardens and lawns need better care. There is plenty of parking, however there are limited amenities. A great little place to go that is out of the way and away from the city.

  • Prithi Yadav

Love this park! Went there on a whim and stayed on well past dusk, way longer than we had planned to, because suddenly at some point, food trucks came in and there was fire-twirling and all sorts of other magic. For.Real

  • Robert Martin

  • Amanda Henry

We loved this little park, with multiple play spaces and levels. A good range of equipment for all ages. No fences, and right by the river though, we love watching the city cats come and go. Also easy parking on site.

Beautiful open park by the river with great little novelties for the kids but keep a very good eye, because there is nothing between them & the river. Gazebos & free BBQ's make it a really good family rendezvous

  • Detective Hip

Great little spot to chill and enjoy the beauty of the Brisbane river and the Water dragons that live there. They are very friendly and may get close but sit back and enjoy the show. Morning is best to see them.

One of the best parks in Brisbane. Great kids playground, lovely outlook and breezes off the river. Heaps of shade, room to kick a ball, barbecues and toilets. Ticks all the boxes for a lovely afternoon picnic.

  • Mohamed Manoufali

The riverview of this park is terrific, however, if you have kids, you need to always observe them as the park is not protected with a fence, BBQ stations are available, bus & ferry terminals are also adjacent.

  • Tom Kuhn

I could be a bit biased as I live in West End, but I really enjoy Orleigh Park. It's so nice to walk your dog along the river, all the facilities seem to be also in good shape. Other than that it's a park :-)

  • Rachelle Anderson

The public toilets at Orleigh Park are the worst! Up next to the City Cat stop. They clean it by hosing it out. So be prepared to wade through water in the toilet cubicle. Plus the toilet may be wet too.

  • Riss Rosay

Nice, tidy park located on the Brisbane River. Plenty space for picnics, gatherings, etc. Very enjoyable during the evening overlooking the city lights reflecting off the river. Comfortable river walk.
