This is a gem of a shop, that if it needed to pay its way I'm sure would close within months. However it seems to be run as a labour of love, and provides a unique and charming old-world second-hand bookshop experience - a joy for browsing or searching for that hard-to-find gem. Special mention for the excellent selection of greeting cards, very stylish and quite unlike those you find in the usual outlets; and the ever changing, quirky, topical and just great fun window displays. A bit cramped and haphazard, but that all adds to the charm. Unfailingly friendly and helpful staff.

Once you walk through the door of this place you will be smitten for life. This bookshop is so special. I cannot believe there are people reviewing this bookshop who complain that you can buy new and used books cheaper on Amazon. Of course you can! Amazon avoid tax like a plague!!!!!! Amazon uses people to deliver their products who are self employed and who have no job security. Enter this shop and you'll meet people who love books and know the joy they bring. I'll support this place until the day I die. Long live Osterley Bookshop.

Located in a former railway station find a well stocked second-hand bookshop covering most genres. A potent destination for bibliophiles, browsers and the merely inquisitive permeating a comforting sense of inertia and rumpled indolence. Also cards, quirky trinkets, bric a brac an bits ‘n bobs. You’re bound to ferret out some book or irrelevancy here: I certainly did. Prices be reasonable.

I love this little shop, I go out of my way when travelling into London from nearby Osterley station specially to visit. I always buy my greetings cards here, occasional books and often bric a brac. Not the cheapest place but some things are more important than money, really nice people here and well worth a visit, get on the Piccadilly line and take a look.

So few places like this left means that we treasure them even more ... Osterley Bookshop is stacked with curious volumes as well as popular literature, the owners are exceptionally friendly & helpful too. It seems they regularly get new stock, I've been pleased to find myself occupied for quite a while each time I visit.

Books are overpriced, and the price on offer is not competitive when you compare the prices to individual sellers on Amazon offering "new" or "nearly new", or second hand prices in local charity shops. The shop has nice character but it is too small and cramped, and it takes forever to search for things.

This bookshop is located inside Osterly's old railway station - a historic building for the town ! I've never actually shopped inside the bookshop but I have friends who live in the area and absolutely love it, claiming that this bookshop is the reason they have such a backlog of things to read ;)

An amazing little book shop which has been in Thornbury Road for many years. You can find a book on almost every subject. Antique books and modern books greeting cards and a corner with interesting nik naks, oh and freshly laid eggs. A great atmosphere definitely worth a browse.

Wonderful little old-fashioned bookshop tucked away in Osterley. Excellent value for money with a wide variety of books from all eras and genres. Owner was very helpful and knowledgeable, as well as chatty. 10/10 would recommend - it's not just a bookshop, it's an experience.

Plenty of books to choose from! I have paid for a pair of books but because I was going out couldn't take them with me. So the shopkeeper offered to hold them until I can return to collect them. I went after 2 weeks and I got my books back. Nice and smooth! Thank you

Wide range of greeting cards that you won't find on the high street: artistic prints, historic through to ironic humour. Place to visit where you are in hurry, shelves are packed with a wide range of second hand books, historic documents and local bric-a-brac.

Lovely little bookshop in Osterley, off the beaten track but right next to the station. Knowledgeable staff and a fabulous selection of books old and new. Good for the enthusiast and student alike, with modern texts and ancient tomes. Highly recommended.

Lovely bookshop, old style in a very nice place. There are many antique books, maps, collectable items and much more. In September all the books will be on sale for half of the price. Worth to visit it, walking distance from the Osterley Park.

  • Zizi Safadi

This is an amazing antique book shop, you will be fascinated by the collection of old books, maps posters, and there is also a small corner for bricks and bracks and jewellery. The staff is very lovely and helpful. They also sell fresh eggs.

Great place yesterday I visited and bought a 101 year old cigar box and a old dictionary and a antique book though some of the pages of the old book are missing but great shop I usually buy stuff. I also bought a postcard from Germany.

Friendliest man working there, clearly a labour of love for him. It’s the best bookstore in Southeast England! It is a Time Capsule and an institution, well-deserving of your patronage.
