You are a FOOL if you do not use these HONEST guys for your vehicles. I have had my vehicles in this shop 3 times for different reasons over the YEARS and every-time I feel like I ripped THEM off. It's a weird feeling. They are honest and charge accordingly. I do NOT have to worry about going in for a tire change and receiving a new muffler and a rebuilt engine! They focus on the problem, charge accordingly and make you feel like extended family. The BEST part is, they STAND BEHIND their work. I had a flickering emergency brake light that was grounding out, and I thought it might be because of the clutch repair. NO QUESTIONS ASKED, THEY fixed it for free. Just my thought of it being related was too much for their honest ways, they would rather fix it and make sure I'm happy than to tell me, hey it's a coincidence and you owe. The honesty and integrity shown from these guys is truly astonishing. I love knowing my car and truck will be handled as if my brother was working on them. There are far too many dirtbags in this world, thankfully NONE ARE AT OUR MECHANIC. I don't normally do reviews, but these guys have truly earned my trust and respect time and time again so I feel obligated to make this review. I've owned four cars over the years and I've always taken them to Our Mechanic either for routine maintenance or if something needs fixing with full confidence that they will do the job right the first time. They keep me well informed during the entire process of what needs to be done and WHY it needs to be done. Last year I brought one of my cars and told them to replace the brake pads and rotors because I thought they were due for replacement, they called me back and told me your brakes are fine and don't need to be replaced. It's really a breath of fesh air to find a shop that you can trust like that. They always stand behind their work which in itself is a testament to the quality of their work. Shoutout to Troy and Ryley who I've known for years now for making this shop the best shop in Calgary for all your car needs. If you're like me and you don't trust anyone to work on your cars, give these guys a chance and you will never look for another shop.

I took my vehicle in for a couple things to be fixed and to get a weird sound fixed coming from my vehicle. These guys were able to fix the things my check engine light was referring to, however it didn't even seem like they took my vehicle for a drive to hear the sound. They said they "thought" it was a wheel bearing and offered to replace that. They claim they replaced it, however I am still hearing the same sound which has worsened since visiting. Then I am informed 11 days later that my passenger side brake light is burned out. So I called Our Mechanic to ask why it wasn't addressed when I had it in less than 2 weeks ago, and was met with only excuses. It takes 2 minutes to do a light check on a vehicle and why they couldn't be bothered to do that is beyond me, but it really makes me wonder what they ACTUALLY are doing if anything at all. I get that its somewhat minor but really, that just makes it worse. These guys couldn't even get my wheel bolt covers on properly the first time I took it to them.

I hesitate to give Our Mechanic a glowing review, simply because if they get any busier then I'll NEVER get my car in!! Dwight and the boys are simply the BEST. I've had a lot of junkers over the years, been to a lot of scam artist mechanics. It was refreshing to finally meet an honest one. They will tell you exactly what's wrong with your car, how to fix it and which option is best for you. They don't do unnecessary repairs, and won't charge you for new parts if you don't need them. The only knock against them, if any, is that they're so damn busy!! Sometimes it takes a bit longer to get repairs done, but they only charge you for the time they spend on your car. And while you wait, Riley and Troy make you feel welcome. They even have a new coffee vending machine.*g* Don't even bother looking anywhere else, you won't find a better place to get your car serviced..:)

Took my Chevy blazer here a lot over the years. Normally had good service. They would install 2nd hand parts to get me back on the road sooner and cheaper. Until I started to experience a “good cop bad cop” scenario with the 2 guys that worked reception. One would always be best case scenario and would always tell you the lower side of quotes to make you feel like your getting a deal. Where the other was rude, never had time to go over why things where so expensive and would throw the bigger side of the bill at you with the debit machine in hand. I had fuel economy issues and got a complete run around, miss diagnosed and charged for spark plugs, new wires, and mass air flow sensor, when these where already all replaced within the last few years. They basically whipped the code and did the easiest fix they could come with to charge me $1100.

Trust Perfection. Even though I moved to the other side of Calgary, I still take my vehicles here. They always give me top quality at a fair price. Billing I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN FAIRLY BILLED. Freedom It's so damn liberating knowing you can trust the people working on your vehicle. I trust them. I've had multiple dealings with them. Great family owned company. Value The father/owner showed me the work they performed on my vehicle today... Toyota and Kal-tire were unable to align the car. Drove away from the shop, and the car feels brand new. Towed I still thank that CAA driver that took my car to them, years ago. Had I not been towed there, I would never have been introduced to them. Honesty Listen. Take your vehicle there. Trust them once. You won't regret it. 10 out of 10.

Took it in 8am and they got my exhaust done in the same day. Exactly what I wanted and they did everything to save money for me. Troy helped me out very much. Thank you everyone at 'Our Mechanic' . You rock! Update: Had no heat in my car and it turned out to be a pretty expensive part. Yet again ' Our Mechanic ' was super helpful and figured an alternative to buying a 600 dollar part and I walked away with heat fixed, oil changed AND brakes checked ( i asked for them to change them but they were honest as always and let me know the brakes were at around 70% left and there was no need to change them yet ) this all for $150. I always believed that money was a by product of a job well done. That means the customers vehicle is the priority. It worked well for my companies and customers as many were repeat customers and trusted me with blank checks to do what was necessary and bill accordingly. I found that this company and their employees share the same values. I have trusted them with several large jobs and always felt they did what was necessary and honestly. You can definitely trust these guys with your car. I needed an out of province car inspection as well as for them to check an odd noise my car was making. Making an appointment with them was very easy, and I took my car there first thing in the morning. I expected the fixing of the noise to cost a bit cause I wasn't sure what it was from and didn't know if I could fully trust the place yet. But the people working there are very prompt and friendly and they did a thorough inspection of my car and fixed the noise for basically nothing. They also went out of their way to answer some questions I had about my car. Very happy with this place and will definitely go back in the future.

Absolutely excellent mechanic shop. The 2 big components to a mechanic shop in my opinion are quality work and integrity. I've had this shop tell me that it not necessary to do some work just yet rather than saying I do and charging me. That for me is the key, if I trust the establishment, it removes any wondering if I am getting screwed or not and Our Mechanic has proven to have integrity time and time again for me. The guys at the front end are great to deal with and the quality of the work has always been top notch on both my vehicles. They are competitive or better on their pricing. I have met the owner once and he is a really nice guy.

My vehicles gas tank sprung a small leak. I am new to Calgary and after reviewing numerous mechanics on the net, decided to give these guys a try. Since the problem started on the Friday of the long weekend they were not able to fit me in until Tuesday. True to their word they got my vehicle in and completed the work in the timeframe they quoted and for a bit less than the original quote. They were professional and answered their phones promptly. Offered some advice on how to minimize the potential for the problem to reoccur in the future. Would recommend them to others and will certainly return in the future.

booked in my truck to get some work done transmission cooler lines replaced, and also had an inspection from the dealership got them to check out the engine oil cooler line. as the dealership said it needed to be replaced. they call me and said your oil cooler line is fine and your oil filter was just loose. that just saved me a $500 bill. just by going off the reviews from other people before i brought my truck in.nothing but great reviews from this place. i would recommend this shop to anyone they are honest people and nothing but good from this shop.will be bringing my vehicle back for service

I was pleased with the wonderful service I received on August 29th . My 1999 Chevrolet Cavalier had no heat/air ,so they fixed it,as well as a few other things they did to my car . I brought my wife's 2000 VW Beetle in because the low beams were not working. I had replaced the bulbs and checked the fuses. My internet research suggested it might be a relay. That was above my skill level so I brought it in. The problem was a simple headlight replacement. I had installed them incorrectly. They could have easily charged me for an expensive relay and I would have happily have paid it. The car is 18 years old. But they were honest and fixed the problem for me in 10 minutes. These guys are honest and trustworthy. I will never trust anyone else with my cars. 7 stars.

Been going to this mechanic for over 16 years. They are the most trustworthy, family oriented business I have ever met in Calgary. One time before a cross boarder road trip I dropped my vehicle off for a full inspection expecting to pay for extra services to make sure it was road worthy for the trip to the U.S. But only needed an oil change and air filter. I questioned them if they were sure. I thought I needed break pads done or something. Nope. So if you need a more reliable mechanic, I'd start here. Thanks guys for providing an honest service. sleazier than a dealer. at least every dealer is open about being expensive. i was charged $140 to read and clear a check engine code that i told them i've already done and it comes back on. they didn't trouble shoot nor fix the problem but charged me the $140. i was charged an extra $570 because they decided to change discs along with the brake pads that i wasn't given an option to omit. i'm told later if you didn't want to pay that much, you should have told us not to change the discs. bottom line, they played me (i tip my hat). i hope people read this and avoid them.

Have you ever walked into a mechanic and feel like you're going to be treated fairly? Me Neither, Until I walked into Our Mechanic. Troy was very pleasant to work with over the phone, they shop got the work I needed done quickly and at a fair price and also were able to order and mount tires for me all within 24 hours of having my vehicle. I am very pleased with my service and most of all that I was treated fairly and with honesty, which is not something most people can say of their mechanics. Thank you Troy and the Our Mechanic staff. These people are terrific every time I deal with them. They have always tried to help in lowering my service/repair cost. Found them to honest, friendly, helpful and very price competitive. Some things they haven't even charged for when they had a right to do so. Can't understand what went wrong with the person that only gave a 1 star rating. They fixed my Elantra 3 times (once with the engine check light on) when the Hyudai dealership couldn't fix it any time. Got a Santa Fe which is no longer under warranty, Dwight gets my business with it from now on.

Great quality of work and professionalism! I’ve taken my vehicle here a few times and have been met with nothing but knowledge, professionalism, and a great quality of work! I was in recently for a brake check and they had their tech take a picture of my worn brake and Ryley at the front desks was able to pulled it up on the monitor showing me the picture to see exactly what he was referring to with my problem brakes! It’s great to see the “family” shop keep up with the times and provide the same trusted quality with the perks of the bigger operations!

I was recommended to Our Mechanic by a friend at work. Took my previous car there and have always had amazing service. I had been taking my new vehicle to the pull in oil change places just because it was convenient. Was told that I needed the differential fluid changed and an engine flush. Booked the vehicle into Our Mechanic for exactly that and was told that the differential fluid was fine and didn’t need changing. Really appreciate the honesty and great work ethic of this place. Would highly recommend them! Always feel taken care of by them.

These guys are amazing. Fair and beyond fair in pricing. They do great work quickly and always deal in a totally straight up manner. I've had 4 different cars serviced with them, and I've never been disappointed. My father in law brought his van, with an abs complaint. They advised it was probably a sensor and it would be about $400. When they pulled it apart, turns out it was just the harness. They called up and the whole repair was about a third of what they'd quoted. How many shops would be that honest? Dwight and his boys are the best.

Used to be a huge fan of Our Mechanic, and drove across the city to visit them for my two vehicles. I will no longer be supporting this business, as they recently refused to honour warranty on their own repair which failed immediately (or wasn't done at all in the first place). Frustrated, having to pay another mechanic to fix the same issue. Looking back there were other issues that we overlooked, such as getting conventional oil instead of synthetic after an oil change, that should have been an indication of the quality deteriorating.

Integrity and honesty is not their strong suit. If you like the wool pulled over your eyes. Yes, they are friendly, if you shake their hands be sure to count your fingers, they may have taken a few. They will try to sell you a part at 5 times the cost then charge you for labor on top with a smile. They wanted me to pay $500 for a sensor which costed me only $38. They even had the nerve to ask me to call them to order it. Good thing, I found an honest mechanic for second opinion.

Initially I was very skeptical. They quoted me a high price for multiple parts. However they kept me in the loop of what they were doing throughout the days, eventually telling me it was a simple fix which I only paid a fraction of the cost. I was quite surprised how honest they were. If this is their common business practice, I would not hesitate to bring my car and recommend other people to this shop. Thanks Troy. You actually made my day.

I have been dealing with Dwight & Riley for 10+ years. They have worked on all of my vehicles and my parents. Brandon was my mechanic this time, he was very thorough and professional with me. I am thoroughly impressed with the level of professionalism at Our Mechanic. All of the people I spoke to (Dwight, Dennis, Troy, and Riley) were extremely helpful. When I met Dwight, I was surprised to find that he was the owner. He's a mechanic there, which is where I assume the customer focused and down to earth atmosphere comes from. I hope I don't have any more car troubles, but if I do, I'll be back.

Our mechanic is the most thorough and genuinely reliable shop I have ever found. You can tell they are dedicated to getting the job done right and they do it for a reasonable price! They can't tell you if your tail light bulb is going to die in two weeks, but really who could? But they do go above and beyond and stand by their work and I would highly recommend this shop to anyone.

Alternator died on me while I was visiting calgary. Not very trusting of people with my vehicles, dealerships especially. However, these guys were able to change it out at short notice and for a fraction of what other shops quoted me. (One shop even said they would have to remove the axel to change it out???). Would definately recommend their service to anyone.

Took my car there in December for some work. Took it back again for a separate issue that another unnamed tire place said needs to be repaired for over $2k. They drove it around, checked everything over, and said everything is fine, PLUS they didn't charge me for trying to find something wrong that wasn't. Will go back next time I need mechanical work.

Riley and the team are amazing. Part of me doesn't want to give this review cause some secrets are best kept hidden. Prices are reasonable. Service is exceptional. I had a factory issue with my Saturn that 3 GM dealerships couldn't figure out. Rileys team correctly solved it in under an hour. I have been going to this team for 5 plus years.

Brought in my Volvo here. The guys are super helpful and fully explain all the work preformed and why they went that extra mile. I think service like this is rare these days. They were able to get my car in a day after my electronic submission and finish the work the same day. I will definitely be bring my car back to this shop.

I used to think these guys were honest, but recent experiences have made me change my mind. I think that they may have sold me on fixes that I should never have needed. When I question their recommendations they ghost me. I have spent 10's of thousands of $$ at their garage over a ten year period.

These are honest guys. We took our vehicle in because we thought the brakes were worn out. They let us know that the pads and rotors were fine and didn't need replacing, and gave us a bit of education on why we heard the squeaking. They saved us a bunch of money. Highly recommend these guys.
