We had a party of 19 today, pre booked very disappointed the meals were very overpriced for what was delivered to the table. Salmon dry with inedible pesto plastered over it and for $30 We expected a lot better. Barramundi tiny piece also dry served with rice horrible not eaten. Steak very average served with a salad that was inedible. Margarita pizza average and overpriced. Gnocchi 15 small pieces in a watery sauce paid an extra $5 for chicken and got 4 small pieces. Chicken Parmigiana tiny and very average with 10 chips for $25. The meals took 40 minutes to get and longer for some, so the person whose birthday it was for, was waiting for her meal while everyone else was eating, all ordered within a couple of minutes of each other .Kids were meals good and the staff were very good, the play area for the kids was good. Suffice to say none of us will be back, I know the service industry has gone through tough times BUT when prices are as high as they were today, you need to deliver great food in a timely manner or you lose business. The two stars are for the staff !

I was invited to have dinner at the newly renovated Overlander on a Sunday night. Decor looked nice and updated with a cosy feel. Bar looks impressive and big. That’s where the good stuff ends. Staff looked like they didn’t want to be there. They weren’t smiling or friendly. Food was not nice. My sirloin steak was stringy. The veges were not cooked. Mash was ok. Pepper sauce was strange. I could see vege pieces in it. My friend had a t-bone which was not cooked medium rare but was well done. I tried the hot chips and they were the only nice thing to eat. The toilets at the back were clean but not in line with the same decor as the renovation. Security guard was friendly on my way out and wished me a good night so that was my highlight. But I would not visit again.

Just like to pay compliments to the staff, venue and food at The Overlander Hotel, Norther Road! Cambridge Gardens. My wife and I ordered Rib Eye Steak with mash and veg also Panko Crumbed Chicken Schnitzel with mash and veg. Pepper sauce on the side with both meals. The steak was tender, cooked perfectly to medium and the vegetables cooked perfectly, steaming hot and plenty of same. The schnitzel comprised two good sized, thick and moist pieces with the vegetables served as above. The staff found to be very accomodating, helpful and friendly. The venue, tables, chairs, cutlery and crockery found to be very clean and presented well. All round very enjoyable experience, well done and a well earned five star rating. Congratulations Overlander.

I love the meals at this place! They use fresh fish and other ingredients and it really makes a difference, awesome fish and chips. They normally have really chunky steak chips which I Iove, unfortunately the national potato shortage is affecting this at the moment, hopefully my favourite chunky chips will be back soon. Burgers are great, a number of people recommended them the first time I went there, and I have to say, they were right to recommend. I've really enjoyed every meal I've had here. Their menu isn't as extensive as the Peachtree, but that means each menu item at the Overlander is done well and with pride. They really enjoy feeding people great meals here.

The bar staff are friendly and helpful. The bistro staff, seemed under trained and had a lack of knowledge. It seemed it was a problem to be ordering our meals. I ordered the buffalo mozzarella pizza with basil, I had one piece of basil and it wasn't buffalo mozzarella. The fries had no seasoning, there was meal presentation was average at best, looked like it had been thrown together but a high school food tech student, also not that tasty. Staff were slow to clear tables, it was a constant lunch service, but they appeared to be understaffed, I never once saw a manger walking around or helping. Very underwhelming experience. Won't be back.

Food here is hit and miss. tonight I had literally the worst tasting meal i can remember. not only way overcooked but had that excessively burnt taste that made all other taste impossible and the meal dry as a nuns hat. bad bad bad, should have never been served up and barely ate any of it was so bad. the 2 other times previous i had eaten here, one was good (lunch) and the other (dinner) was just average. i will be switching back to previous weekly venue for sure and only going here for a drink. Can not emphasise enough how bad this meal tasted. On a positive note, staff are always polite and atmosphere is good.

We won’t be coming back after the blatant hypocrisy with this businesses policies. Telling patrons to pull face masks up whilst half the staff on duty have their mask under their nose while walking around the place. The same bar tender has the hide to tell me to lift it up then proceeds to have a 2 min conversation with another colleague who was wearing a mask exactly like i was. If you like enforcing the rules so strictly then I suggest you get your own house in order first then maybe you will attract more than a couple dozen patrons on a Saturday night.

Stayed for 4 nights. Definitely won't be staying again. First room we were given had a flashing light in the bathroom (electrical problems) my partner has epilepsy so we had to ask to move rooms. 2nd room we were given the air conditioner didn't work and it was a 35° day so again had to move. 3rd room we were given the jug stopped working and only 1 light in the whole hotel room worked. Very disappointed with our stay and Definitely will not stay again. Only plus about this place was the staff were lovely.

Food was horrible (mine was stone cold and sea food making it such of food poisoning risk), whole place smelt like cigarette smoke and the children's play area was dirty and so dangerous due to the amount of children inside (not being supervised by their parents/guardian.) Was meant to be a fun family dinner for a birthday and turned into an anxious "lets eat and get out of here" night. We were seated so close to the next table that we could not move at all, very disappointing and not safe!

Staff friendly... Sizzling Garlic/chilli prawns, no sizzling and just a tomato sauce. 5 prawns for $20. Pork belly and sausage pizza. The pork belly substituted with char siu pork which was on the specials board. Pretty disappointing for the price. I go out for dinner expecting something better than i cook at home and i can cook better than what was served up.Kids area overrun by feral kids not at all supervised by any parents. Wouldn't waste my time going again or recommending too anyone.

Less than impressed Beds are not comfortable, linen was not clean, shower curtain was mouldy and kettle was filthy. Laying in bed, windows and doors locked and I could smell cigarette from other peoples rooms or outside or wherever. Majority of the staff were friendly, however the old manager was rude and less than accommodating. There is no room for rudeness when rooms are unclean and not comfortable. Definitely do NOT recommend!

Great for families and kids. Kids will love the indoor playground also the toy machines and chocolate machine Now that you don't need cash any more just eftpos they get you in quicker. Bistro has a gluten free option too. Just need more gluten free variety and some vegetarian dishes. Heaps to choose from for those without allergies or intolerances. Staff very helpful. Nice atmosphere. Also has live music a few times a week.

First visit since the Overlander had a makeover. It is now well set out with a great dining area. There is an area for young families of to one side with a play area for kids. The food is excellent and very reasonably priced. The food is restaurant quality at pub prices. The menu is quite large and covers a large range of food for adults and kids. Well done Overlander, we will be back again and now have a great local pub.

Went out with fam for dinner - Bar staff very good, quick service, but the restuarant girls mucked up our pizza order but redone pizza came out fairly quickly (was definitely a new pizza). Wife and daughter enjoyed the pizza. My son and I had sirloin with steak and chips, which happily was cooked correctly and chips and salad was great, but the meat was ordinary, with a fair bit of gristle. Need to find another butcher.

An absolutely sensational meal prepared to perfection by a magnificent head chef !!! I have tried 5 completely different meals including specials of the day over the past 2 weeks and every single one has been cooked to perfection with phenomenal flavours…… thank you so very much keep it up. We will definitely be returning regularly and raving about the quality and standard to everyone we know

Meal was served on a cold plate which detracted it from being a good meal even though it was well presented and well cooked. Disappointed that staff do not pay attention to the little things. As a customer when u pay over $150.00 for people to eat u expect to enjoy the experience not to have it served up to u on a cold plate, i brought half of my meal home for my dog because it went stone cold.

First visit and although we went to see The Hype Boys we had a thoroughly enjoyable meal and great friendly service, Hype Boys as usual were awesome. Fantastic kids area too, although they mostly chose to dance the afternoon away with new found dance floor friends

Rooms are nice clean with air conditioning. Beds are a little old (they still have springs) kettle didn’t work so I left a note. Shower was great plenty of hot water. No wheel chair access that I could see but you could get a ground floor room. Plenty of parking. A short walk to the bar and restaurant. Coles just down the road.

Great spot for kids to play whilst adults enjoy a cuppa. Clean and well maintained with friendly and efficient staff. Loved that there is a parent room near the playground. Very convenient when you have more than one littlie. No dairy free options for coffee is the only draw back. Good selection of food for the whole family.

We stayed here a few weekends ago and we found the staff very helpful, the rooms were pretty good for the price and we had a lovely meal at the restaurant food was excellent and reasonably priced…one of the better experiences we’ve had… Well done Overlander Staff…

Went for a friends birthday with a group for dinner. The play area is good apart from parents not watching their kids. Admittedly it was the 3rd day since the bistro opened but the food was wrong for so many of our orders. Someone was even served a raw hamburger patty. Keep trying keep improving you guys will get there.

Two weeks in a row I've eaten here and ordered steak and both times had to send them back for being raw. Not even warm, completely raw all the way through. And the rump I ordered was all fat and gristle. When the plate comes back there's a half portion of chips and salad too. So disappointed as it used to be great.

If I wasn’t too shy to go up, I would give compliments to the chef, tonight I had the scotch fillet with surf and turf, not only was it the nicest steak and prawns I’ve ever had but with confidence it’s the best meal I’ve ever eaten outside of my own kitchen, please any staff see this thank the chef for me

Food was average, had shell on my prawns, steak was chewy, mushroom sauce tasted like plain gravy, they stuffed my son-in-laws dinner up twice so he ended up not eating at all as we had finished our meals already, very loud place for a family meal/outing, bit pricey but staff were nice and friendly

Bistro staff are rude. The food is terrible compared to the old bistro no kids nuggets on menu cant have steak the way you want chic snitz an veg is beans an a broccoli with mash go back to a pub not a club like atmosphere. Renovations are fantastic an so is frank the manager very helpful.

Great meal and great service. Many people have commented about the improvements since renovations - as this was my first visit I would have to say that it looks fantastic even though nothing to compare it to. Very spacious and clean. Good selection on the menu and great beers on tap.

Went there on Wednesday 12th January. Went to the bar and asked for a drink. Was rudely asked to pull my mask up over my nose. All good but then I asked why she never checked my QR log in or double Vax. No answer. Staff are getting ruder there. Been drinking here for over 20 years.

Had lunch (mixed grilled and rib eye) and was delicious, well cooked and presented oh and the garlic prawns were awsome thankyou. Maria and the staff were very friendly and knowledgeable and made some awsome cocktails my partner loved was a real nice family lunch thanks guys

The Overlander has been recently renovated and it’s amazing. Inside is much nicer and spread out into sections. The entry way is inviting and clean. Directions inside are clearly marked out. The dining area has very comfortable seating. The food is top notch and good value.

The school staff dinner was held here. Very kid friendly, great food for a reasonable price (dinner for two was less than $50).

Stayed as paying guest 2 nights in a basic motel room with some adult friends. Not flash at all but was clean comfortable and adequate. Adjacent hotel offers good grub vast drink array and live entertainment on many nights. Children a playground is also available.

Food overpriced for what you recieved, and a $2 per plate if you have a birthday cake there, hence 20 people would be $40 for use of little plates for cake. Find this unrealistic as we would have spent over $1000 just in food .. not counting our drinks bill.

The Overcharger comes through with the goods has a decent hold on all facilities, pokies multiple bars, outside entertaining. BUUUUT there is a reason they call it the overcharger. The food is really good but expect to pay near $40 for a steak.

It is a good family pub food was fantastic especially the pizza and the atmosphere is great, the only issue is sitting near the playground is very loud we had to move as even our children complained it was too loud.

Nice pub. Great kids play area. Unfortunately food was not the best. High priced but quality not great. We hosted a birthday here. Overall was a decent experience despite the low quality of the food.

Just been to the overlander for dinner after they have been renovated. Staff was lovey and the dinner was great! Chicken parmigiana was huge and yum and the pot of mussels some of the best we've had.

Took over 40 minutes to receive the entree. The food was only just warm with some cold when received. The mains were over an hour to come once given the entree. Won’t be dining here again.

Great option if you have young children as the indoor play area is available to keep the kids happy. Food is good and beer cold, what more could you want in there testing times.

I ordered the lamb shoulder and it's quite possibly THE BEST lamb that I have ever had. So tender and juicy and that sauce - MY GOSH. Compliments to Head Chef Saini.

Had a nice snitty, the cakes were nice but exy, the little man was having fun on the equipment until he slapped a baby so the fun ended there, but I'll go again.

Ordered the schnitzel for me and burger kids meal. Schnitzel was $22 processed garbage and no idea what meat was in the burger but it was disgusting.
