In the fall, I went in for an oil change and a freon check as I was driving from SD to San Francisco and wanted to make sure I had AC and my car was running smoothly. I chose this place because it had excellent Google Reviews. They were really nice when I dropped my car off and they even dropped me off in Mission Valley where I needed to go work that day. I was reassured that it wouldn't take more than a few hours to do the oil change. I received a call saying that the freon was leaking etc and it would be more money. Okay, I need AC so I agreed. They took my car apart. They then called saying that the car wouldn't be ready until the next day. I asked if they could put the car back together again so that I could at least get to work in north county the next day. They said they would add an additional charge to do that, and they pretty much forced me to rent a car through a skeezy company they have a deal with. The rental was $20 per day (less than what they told me it would cost to put the car back together again) and they told me that the rental company could pick me up. I call the rental company, the rental company says that they cannot pick me up and the auto shop cannot help me get to the rental place either. So now I'm forced to pay for an uber to Little Italy to get this rental car... Rental Car Cafe was so sketchy. I then had to drive, in rush hour, from Little Italy back up to North County where I live. The next day I get a call from the auto repair shop saying that the manufacturer recalled a part and that it needs to be replaced. I can't remember exactly what all needed to be done, but it kept piling up. Eventually, I got my car back and paid around $1500 for everything (!!! I was so upset because I had not budgeted for this, I mean I only wanted my oil changed and a freon check!) and was reassured by the owner of Pacific Highway Auto Repair that it would be safe to drive to San Francisco. I do appreciate his wanting to explain to me exactly what was wrong with my car, and perhaps he didn't mean for it to be this way, but his explanations were a bit demeaning and mansplainy. The next day, I began to drive to San Francisco and in the middle of nowhere on I-5 way north of LA, my car breaks down. I have NEVER had this happen before and my car worked just fine before I had them work on it. Pacific Highway Auto Repair shop is closed on Sundays so I am unable to get in touch with them, I just get their voicemail. I wait four hours on the side of the road in the heat for a tow truck. I'm still upset with how everything went down. My experience with this shop was so negative that it actually encouraged me to begin learning how to care for my car myself. The lack of concern or sympathy from Pacific Highway Auto Repair once my car was no longer in their shop was frustrating. I won't be going back.

The service the Philip and team have provided has been excellent! I first heard about Pacific Highway Auto Repair in August of 2019 and have trusted their service ever since. I appreciate the thoroughness of their work, and the fact that they keep constant communication with their customer. Before they began any work or modifications to the work order, Philip would call me and step me through, step by step, and walk with me in person, showing me exactly where the issue on my vehicle was before proceeding. I never felt that I was given the runaround, and he has always been able and willing to answer my questions and actually explain why and what their team would be working on. I also upgraded my pipes on my Camaro, and Philip went above and beyond to help me research the best solution for my needs. They sound awesome btw! Pacific Hwy Auto Repair also provides military and NAVWAR discounts as well! I am glad and fortunate that I have discovered this business and team, and I will continue to trust them with my Camaro. I always do a lot of research before choosing a auto shop to get my car serviced or repaired, especially after my uncle passed away he owned (Dave’s Auto) in Carlsbad. Which of course I always went to him to get my repairs done. After my research and reading the reviews, I always read ⭐️ first and from my experience I don’t see these single superstars being honest, they must have something else going on in life and everything is a ⭐️. The manager Clinton he was answering my ?’s before I could ask. My main concern was the damage to the car worth the repair or should I just take my loss and get another car. He stated that they were going to take a look at the part of the car that was hit (hit and run) to make sure the frame was safe and there isn’t a lot more damage that we can’t see, Long story short I was worried about a lot of unnecessary repairs for a car that should be salvaged and was reassured before I could ask the questions. I would highly recommend this shop to anyone in SanDiego. They will definitely get my business again. Thanks Again. I Give 6 Stars .

Just picked up my car from there and I couldn't have had a better experience. I usually like to be in and out of the mechanic and they made it very painless for me. I dropped of my car with the tow truck, signed the paperwork, they even gave me a discount for enterprise rental cars, and picked it up the next day. Also I believe they gave me a discount based on my job too. This is the second time I've been there and Phil and the front office are very cool and helpful. Both times when I dropped off my car they called explaining what had happened to the car and what it would take to repair it. When i picked up the car Phil was great in explaining what they did and what probably caused the problem by showing me what work they performed. Overall just a great experience and excellent work. A big plus is they have a super cute dog that will come up to you to ask you to play with him politely. I would recommend this place if you are looking for a reliable shop that will not try to take advantage of you. Thanks guys!

Philip Foster and his team at PH Auto Repair take such good care of our family and our cars. We know that we are always getting the straight story and an accurate diagnosis from Philip and trust his recommendations completely. His pricing is fair and the service exceptional - and he goes out of his way to make sure he is finding the best solution for whatever is wrong with our cars. Most recently I took my Volvo SUV in for an oil change and asked him to check out a “squeaky sound” that I was worried about. The oil change was less than what other places had charged me, and Philip diagnosed the other problem and assured me that it was something that could wait and not to worry about fixing it immediately. Any other place would have said I needed to fix it right then and probably would have added a few more things to the list that didn’t need fixing!! Phillips experience and knowledge about cars speaks for itself and his passion for customer service is beyond 5 Star. Would never go anywhere else!

First time visiting this business earlier in the week. Place got great Yelp reviews and I've been looking for a new mechanic, so I scheduled an appointment to install and register a new battery on my 2005 BMW 530i. I was impressed by Clinton's professionalism and helpful attitude from the time of my first call and throughout the process. I was also impressed by the neat, orderly appearance of the establishment when I arrived. My battery was replaced and registered faster than Clinton quoted and at the exact price he quoted by phone, but immediately after I drove off, my car generated a passenger restraint error. Not to worry, though. I brought it back the next day and Clinton's technician, Jose, was able to quickly diagnose the issue and remove the error code. My car has another unrelated issue that needs to be diagnosed quickly, and based on my initial great experience, I will definitely call Clinton to schedule a diagnostic appointment for that.

This is one of the closest auto repair shops to my home and from my experience, I do believe they are honest and transparent. I've had my car brought here on 2 occasions thus far. The first was to diagnose a starting issue, which was somehow miraculously resolved before a mechanic even had a chance to pop the hood. The manager, Phil, let me know immediately that the car had started normally and gave me the option to drive the car off the lot without a fee. I appreciated the honesty expressed on that day. The second time I made an appointment and drove the car in to have a check engine light diagnosed. There was a diagnosis fee of about $118 but after informing me of the suspected issues, there was no pressure for me to complete the repairs with him. Ultimately, I ended up doing some research and completing the repairs on my own, but the diagnosis was helpful and worth the money in my opinion.

The nightmare mechanic shop everyone fears. Please read the other one star reviews. It is the exact same story I experienced. I went in for a simple fix and many more "problems" were discovered. Phillip is great at explaining what is happening to your vehicle and is very polite, but the fixes are incredibly over priced and the issues are exaggerated. I spent over $1000 in labor and $1300 in parts and the problem still exists. When I asked about the high labor costs he kept circling back to the warranty and the great products they put in my truck. I am not going back to the shop to cash in on the "warranty" his company offers because I simply do not trust them and I am scared to death of spending even more of my paycheck on a ruse. I am sorely disappointed and frustrated.

Broke down on the highway, managed to get it started and pull into the shop right as they were closing, the owner took my info, took my car key and assured me they would figure it out. The next day I get a amazingly detailed along with pictures included report of what was needed/had to be done my car.Clinton notified me they found they considered a manufacturer error on my engine. I was then assisted in getting a tow truck, they allowed me to stay in their shop waiting area for over an hour while I waited on transportation and they included a quite detailed report that I was able to turn in to the Kia dealer. From start to finish my experience was amazing I highly recommend this organization. Not that I want car problems in my future but if I do I know where to take it.

I saw the great reviews on this place and really needed a smog check. I work nearby and contacted them, explaining I would need to leave work early to get to the appointment so I needed their latest time available. The receptionist set my appointment for 4pm which I was ecstatic about. I arrived 5 minutes early and am told the smog technician has left for the day and was in a rush to get things done. I took time off work to go to this appointment and had zero contact and barely any apology. I ended up having to take my business elsewhere and cancel other plans to get this done in a timely manner. I certainly understand if I had been a walk in but I wasn’t, I made sure I had an appointment. Definitely will not be attempting to use their services again.

I’ve been going to Pacific Highway Auto Repair for at least 15 years. They have always been up front, honest, extremely helpful, prompt with their services, and stand behind their work. (It’s always been a pleasure going in). All the guys are friendly, kind, and will explain everything about the repairs done on your car. Clinton runs the shop like a pro. No matter how busy it is, he’s always taken the time to explain and discuss details whenever I’ve needed to have work done on my MBZ. Everything from minor repairs to the painful ones that kept my car in good service for 22 years. They’ve got the old school charm with the expertise and knowledge to do things right the first time. I was referred to Pacific Highway Auto Repair by a family member. Everything i was told about their service was exactly what I experienced! The technicians are very friendly knowledgeable and honest , they were very attentive to my concerns/questions and were able to answer all of them. Before any work was done I received a detailed description with photos of the issues that needed to be addressed from least to greatest which was one of the things I was most appreciative of, I was able to see the issues and decide what worked best for me and was able to discuss it with the technician. I had work done on two cars in the same day and they were very helpful and accommodating. They use a great text system that shows you what work needs to done on your car. I feel like these are honest mechanics and I would trust them with my car. They recommend rear breaks, spark plugs and cabin filter on my car. I opted not to have them do it because I thought I could do the job for less myself. I was able to do the job myself and the job definitely needed to be done which increase my trust in them. The only reason why I opted to do it myself was to save a little money it cost me a days work and saved me $700 in labor. So $700 dollars for 8 hours of work is not bad for a shop. I would recommend them to a friend and to u.

Gary and Sharon have done it again! I have been going to their original shop Aero Auto for almost two decades because of their extraordinary service. They recently bought this shop, which is a little closer to my house, so I took my car in here last time. They have done a lot of work to fix it up so it looks nice inside and out. It's so nice to have an auto repair shop that is clean and professional. Sadly, it is still somewhat difficult to find shops that treat women with respect. But that is definitely not the case here! They have created a friendly, comfortable environment for anyone needing their car repaired. And with the free coffee and WiFi, maybe I'll just hang out next time I need my car fixed!

Such an amazing experience! Philip really made me feel like I was being treated as a friend. Speaking for someone who had to have some major work done in preparation for a cross-country drive, the total transparency was so appreciated. I travel for work and we were able to text back and fourth and have exactly the right parts I needed as soon as I returned home. Work was done quickly, I was kept in the loop the entire time (what step they were on, any additional issues found), and most importantly; I feel extremely confident now in my car's abilities to take me safely back to the East Coast. Since moving to San Diego, I have been a repeat customer and I can't recommend these guys and gals enough.

I bought a Mercedes a few months back and needed to have diagnostic on convertible top ... the motor had been replaced recently (he called to let me know) it just needed hydraulic fluid dispersed through the system. Clinton is a very nice guy (and professional) and was able to let me know from a full inspection what else was needed to bring it all up to par. It was finished w/in a day and I was completely informed about what the recommended maintenance points were before the work was done (control arms, fuel system cleaning, etc.) I’m very pleased with everything, the car performs beautifully. It’s very comforting knowing that there aren’t any problems lurking or unbeknownst to me.

I took me 2007 Dodge Ram 1500 (131K) in for an oil change. It was at the dealer for 11 days 2 weeks earlier to try to determine what the service light was for. They took it apart and then drove it around for 200 miles and could never figure it out. In reality, my truck was on the verge of a meltdown and several key elements were discovered by Pacific Highway and repaired within 48 hours. Pacific Highway communicated all issues and the pricing was fair (the even helped me with a first-time customer discount which really helped). The administration part was a welcome relief, checking in, keeping me informed and checking out, EXCELLENT. I believe I have found my new mechanic!

I can't say enough good things about my experience with Pacific Highway Auto Repair. I was leaving for a trip the next day and they let me have my Volkswagen towed to their shop when it wouldn't start so they could figure it out while I was gone. I had never been there but a friend recommended them highly. The whole time they kept me updated and quickly got my ignition fixed, plus some vehicle maintenance. They were super flexible so that my friend could come pick up the car as I was still out of town. A week later when a bulb broke in one of my lights, they fixed it quickly with no appointment and were easy to work with. I will definitely go back to them in the future!

I had two disappointing experiences at this location. The first time, the manager tried to slip an extra line item into the bill. It was for an inspection that he said would be covered by insurance. He admitted that he never called the insurance company and then acted like he was doing me a big favor by not charging me for it. When I went back because the problem persisted, he wanted to charge me the inspection to fee again and claimed that it was not his work even though his guy had worked on it. Honesty and straightforwardness are crucial qualities I look for in any mechanic. If these traits are important to you, I suggest that you keep looking.

Pacific Highway is AMAZING! I have had a clutch and brakes repaired here and really appreciate how they explain every detail until I fully understand the work being done. As a female (and someone who knows NOTHING about cars) it has always been hard to find a place where I didn’t feel like I was being taken advantage of; at Pacific Highway I always leave the shop feeling confident and that I am in good hands. Professional, courteous and clean! Thanks to the thoughtful team I had a great experience having a minor issue repaired on my Volvo. They got me right in when I showed up with a check engine light on, diagnosed the problem and had the part in and fixed by the next day! Such a refreshing environment compared to the average auto shop. Clean restroom and lovely outdoor waiting patio! Very centrally located so it's freeway close to most San Diego communities! I initially just needed my brake pads replaced, but these gentlemen were extremely helpful and kind and considerate with everything regarding my car and at such a more reasonable price than the dealerships I’d recently visited. They even drove me to a coffee shop nearby so I could work remotely while they worked on my car. It was quoted out within an hour of dropping it off, and labor was completed within 4-5 hours. My engine was making sounds that were very concerning. There was a possibility I may have to replace it according to another garage I took it to. I wanted a second opinion from someone who works on BMW’s. Thank god I did because they replaced some pulleys, a belt and tensioner arm and now the engine is smoother than ever and quieter than it’s been since I’ve owned the vehicle. The best part is, once diagnosed, they fixed the car same day! I’ll be coming back for all my BMW maintenance needs for sure. Kudos to Pacific Auto Repair and Clinton for helping me out!

I took my 2009 Honda civic here to pacific highway about a week ago for an issue regarding my starter, Mr.Clinton was very kind and helpful diagnosing the issue and giving me a very reasonable price for my cars starter. My car runs amazing and has no issues. I’d also like to address that he removed one of my dash lights on my car for the tire pressure and I never asked about that, it goes to show how much pacific highway cares for their customers. I definitely recommend this place for all car maintenance and repairs, thank you pacific highway.

This is my go to mechanic now! I drive a high performance luxury vehicle & have had the worse luck finding an honest & reliable mechanic (dealership did me wrong too). These guys are awesome & made me feel confident doing business with them. I trust them & will ONLY be taking my cars to them from now on. Clinton is an expert & knows what he’s doing. The mechanics as well (didn’t catch their names) but they were also very knowledgeable, friendly & don’t mind explaining things to you so there is clarity. A+ business!!

They made a horrible experience into a pleasant one. From the moment I called for information due to a check engine light and engine failure, they made me feel welcome, they made me feel like they knew exactly what they were doing, and I really felt like they cared about how to get me back on the road. They didn’t try to force any services that I didn’t want, but provided me with a list of services they recommend I get in the near future. I can’t say enough great things about Pacific Highway Auto Repair. I took my 2013 Audi Q5 in for an oil change, tire rotation, serpentine belt and rear brake pads and rotor replacement. Clinton and his crew were able to perform all maintenance super quickly using quality parts for well below the dealers costs. Clinton is professional, knowledgeable and friendly. If you’re looking for an honest and trust worthy business to service your car this is it. I will be bringing my car here for all future maintenance.

I have been taking my older BMW here for years. Clinton and his team take the time and effort to explain what is wrong and will also show you the defective parts they had to replace. We trust that they will only do the work required and keep us in the loop if any additional problems arise once they begin the work. Since my car is a ' '04 some parts are no longer available and they are able to find alternative parts etc. I would not trust my cars to any other mechanics.

I was not sure of a warning light that showed up. While my car was diagnosed and repaired they allowed to have a windshield replaced by another company at this location. They made sure this was done correctly. I also had rental car which they arranged to be picked up at their location. All this was done in a few hours and I was able to complete appointments else where. I have always have received excellent repairs quickly and any extra help when required.

I do most of my auto maintenance myself, but I brought in my car with a problem I couldn't diagnose. They quickly and accurately told me exactly what the issue was and offered a great price to repair it. I thanked them and opted to do the repair myself, but their diagnosis was spot on and my 2005 is back to prime condition. 5 stars for friendliness, honesty and transparency. When I get to something I can't handle, I'll definitely trust these professionals

My experience was a breeze. I was quoted for a repair in advance when calling. I was able to source the parts I needed myself and brought them to use. The staff was professional and the location looked clean and bright. My car was done the same day although i couldn’t pick it up till the next morning due to work. They kept my car inside the locked bays overnight for safety. Will definitely be using them again when and if I need another repair. Thank you!

This place was awesome! Walked in at midday because my car was parked close and wouldn’t start at lunchtime. They brought a jumper right away and we drove it to the shop. They tested to make sure it was the battery (it was) and had me back in business and on the road by quitting time. What lifesavers! Their oil change program sounds like a good one with auto checkup so I’ll leobably start going there for that as well. Excellent staff and fair prices.

This is the best auto shop in San Diego. I own two Mercedes’ and Clinton and his team always take excellent care of me as a customer. They’re straightforward on estimating and update you along the way if there are any issues or change-orders necessary, unlike most shops who surprise you down the line with higher than expected charges. Clint always takes good care of my car! He is my go-to in San Diego! He is honest, straightforward, and the prices are reasonable. I got my car diagnosed at another place and they were going to charge me double what Pacific Highway auto repair ended up charging me. Let me be clear. Curtis’ positive reviews are certainly an understatement. His people are fast knowledgeable efficient and no nonsense. I just had a tail light replacement and he got me in and out of there in 20 minutes. Each time I go to Pacific Highway Auto Repair I'm treated like a VIP. This isn't your regular car repair place, uncomfortable, dingy and dank. Nicole and Chad are very cheerful, professional and the office is clean, comfy and well stocked with snacks, hot coffee, water, sodas and good reading material. Got my car towed here over the weekend for a broken water pump. Pacific Highway Auto Repair fixed the issue quickly and had me back on the road by Tuesday. I plan on returning to this business for future repairs, with the hopes of getting some cost savings with a customer relationship discount of some sort. Bottom line: If you need an auto repair job done quickly and professionally, you’re in good hands with these guys.

I went in with no appointment and was distraught from a horrible noise coming from my car. The owner Brian and manager Clinton inspected my car right then. I am so grateful to these guys. They fixed my car at an affordable rate. I was so grateful to all the guys there I brought them lunch to say thank you. This will be the place I bring my car should I need repairs in the future. Had to get a couple gaskets replaced to fix oil leaks in my BMW. Not only were they quick with the repair, but also no one can ever be mad with the satisfaction of having a certified euro mechanic getting the job done for you. And when it came to doing it myself, I can’t warranty myself. The service came with a great warranty much better than the dealer and a much better price, well worth the money.

I really enjoyed coming here. After the shop that I normally go to was closed for the holidays this shop gave us a call and we’re able to book an appointment for us. The gentleman at the front desk was very kind and helpful and answered all my questions. It was a clean establishment and I didn’t feel like my car wasn’t gonna get the care it needed. Would recommend this shop to anyone else.

Took a potential used vehicle in for a pre-inspection purchase. Clinton was very helpful and conducted a thorough inspection of the vehicle. I really appreciated Clinton’s honesty, and his straightforward attitude in letting me know all potential issues/expenses. I also appreciated the thorough inspection report and precalculated cost he supplied for the list of repairs.

I had a terrible squeaking noise when I applied the brakes. The folks at the shop did a very timely job at replacing front brake rotors, calipers and bearings so I could continue on my road trip. I'm now 400 miles down the road and the squeak has returned. I really depend on people more experienced than myself to help me in a tight spot. Didn't happen this time.

I needed my brakes done up front on the Mercedes S430. This shop was recommended by a friend that it could perform the upmost professional level of service. They were friendly and reasonable. Time for the A Service on my MBZ...called Friday afternoon for a Monday AM drop off, and I got exactly what I wanted. My BMW needed servicing and a taillight was out. This place isn't far from where I live in Point Loma and they got me in really quickly. The service was fast and the staff very friendly. The cost was about half what I would have paid at a dealership. I highly recommend this place.

Do not have your car repaired here. They quote you many repairs that are not needed and they are high priced. They quoted $1305 to replace the air conditioner compressor and I had it done at Edie's Tire for $580. They quoted $75 to replace
