My wife wanted Thai food. No excuses no substitutions. To the Google machine! And viola, Pad Thai Restaurant, apparently amazing. First thing, did we have a reservation? No, no problem the gentleman at the front said one second. Came back ten seconds later, I didn't time, just counted one one thousands. Can we be out by 6:30?, 2 hours away. Yes, then let me seat you. Customer service 10 / 10, and I dont have food in front me. Menu is small. Living in Asia there are two reasons the menu is small, either super good food, or just starting out. We ordered deep fried spring rolls and fried wontons (the kids favorite). My wife went to work. 32, 35, 50, 56 and coconut rice. Sweet and sour pork, chicken skewers wrapped in leaves, pad Thai (my favorite), and rice pineapple chicken. See the pictures just remember the dish number on the menu. Full confession, I was so hungry and blown away I forgot to take pictures before we descended on the food like a pack of locusts. It was amazing, I mean really amazing. Write home to mom amazing. Well blended spices, well defined dishes, turned down the heat on the spices dishes for the kids. All together it was a feast with at least one lunch for four afterward. Down side - not much of one and its the price might be on the high side for some, for four came to $140 (with tip) if you ignore the fancy drinks we all had. For us it was mid road price for high road value. Thats what we love. Would I recommend? Yes clean, great service, excellent ambiance, and best Thai I've had in Calgary. Only thing I would change, make a reservation before showing up just to save a good spot in this hidden gem.

I have been to this restaurant once to dine in as one friend invited me and this was my second time. This is not my go to place anyway. It’s Rose garden Thai restaurant downtown. We recently travelled to Phuket and since we were feeling nostalgic, decided to order as this is nearer to my home. I would like to review each dish I had, in case you ever tried them. Tom kha gai - This is a coconut creamy soup with mushrooms, chicken and tomatoes. I wanted to order one but when I called to order, the sales person said it’s a starter and then I ordered two, not knowing how big it was. It was tiny and cost was $7.5, so for two, 15 dollars, when I took it home my jaw dropped. Pad Thai - I had many pad thais but this was so far the worst. It had no flavour, they very kindly gave me the prawns separately since my partner is allergic to prawns. Prawns were just boiled and tasted nothing. Pineapple chicken rice - full of turmeric and tasted nothing but disappointment. Plain roti - in Thailand, the roti was sweet and light. This was more like oily paratha. My stupidity, I ordered two. My partner was scared that I would have clogged arteries. Overall, it was a waste of money and tastebuds.

Wonderful experience all around. Was in to celebrate my mother's birthday with her sisters and mother. Food was impressive and was a very good introduction to Thai cooking. Not that I would know any better.. but it tasted great and the server was very kind and social with our group. Super sweet welcoming personality which, paired with the atmosphere of the restaurant, created an overall experience that deserves to be shared. Will be back again. :)

Dietary restrictions
Very welcoming with allergies and sensitivities. Gluten, certain fruits, peanuts. Honestly all the good food that's normally off limits for westernized dieting. They were patient and overly accommodating.
Kid-friendliness
At 23 I would say I am still a child. Sort of. I had fun. So did an elderly couple that were wheezing with laughter the whole time they were there. Must be kid friendly if that occurred. Cause I mean elders are just big kids, no?

Didn't get the experience of dining in but based on takeout only. This pad Thai spot creates a wonderful atmosphere inside. It does boast reputation it has received by many media channels (as seen on storefront banner and also inside with article clippings). One of the sisters/owner here used to be a chef at tuk tuk Thai for background. First thing I noticed was that the cost seemed relatively higher than tuk tuk (although it's not necessarily fair to also compare to a chain-ish spot) but pricing ranged from $16-22 (average meal cost being more around $16/17). The portion sizes aren't too big hence cost to portion was slightly off I feel. Incorporate quality though- good quality - not too oily for the curry and pad Thai was more on the dry style than oversauced (which is good!). The flavour was captured with the pad Thai with 4 pieces of juicy shrimp but seemed light on the other toppings/sides (carrots, lettuce..) The red curry with beef - few beef chunks and more on potatoes. If you want quality and homecook, this is more of the spot. If you fair for quantity and cheaper, elsewhere may be better.

Came here on recommendation of a local friend but was disappointed in portion and quality. If it matters, this is via direct call in, not Uber/Door dash as we prefer to give money directly to the restaurant. Total bill came to just over $40 and the take out boxes were literally the same depth as a 0.8oz body lotion tube, the kind you get in Sephora sample kits. The hand in photo is small size. Two dishes pictured are sweet and sour pork and pad thai. Flavor wise Pad thai: 3/5 decent in authenticity, better than Thai Express but that's about it. Sweet and sour pork: 1/5 loaded with zucchini and carrots, very watery, and feels more like entry level home cook. Highly disappointed in this one. $20 for a pork dish but the volume was mostly made up with.... zucchini?

This place is very good. The seating is cozy and comfortable. They have very quick service. They close around 9 pm and we had called ahead to reserve a table for 8:30pm. They had already set up our table before we entered. The food is very good. I highly recommend their drunken prawns. It’s on another level. Panang curry was very good. Papaya salad and green curry could be better considering the standard of their other dishes. Food was a solid 8/10. Those who know me are aware that in terms of food this is a very high rating. Their server Calvin was humble, sweet and knew the menu well. Calvin turned this from a 4 star review to 5 stars. Would definitely visit again.

Fantastic! Everything was delicious. We started with an order of Money Bags (Pork Dumplings with a special Soy sauce). These were very good but typical dumplings. For our entrees we shared the Pineapple Fish, Coconut Rice and Pad Thai. I wasn't sure what to expect from the fish and was worried that the pineapple might be overwhelming. Instead we were treated to a very delicately flavoured breaded fish with a subtle pineapple garnish and sauce. The Pad Thai used thin noodles and not the ribbon noodles I'm more familiar with. Nonetheless it was a treat. It's a small restaurant and we were seated without trouble but reservations are advised.

This place was delicious. The lychee twist was fantastic. The Thia iced tea was also delicious. We had a few different plates including the lava pork( deadly taste) , bamboo chicken, panang curry beef, Calamari and salad rolls. The service was fantastic with a smile and was nice enough to charge a phone for the table. Super tasty and would 100% recommend!!!!!!

Boyfriend wanted Thai, we randomly picked this place. We drove all the way from Okotoks and they did not disappoint. We got pinwheel and money bags as appetizers. O.M.G. I loved them both, tip*bite edge of money bag and pour in a spoonful of sauce. For the main meal he had the green curry and I had the cashew chicken. Im still dreaming of the dish. Because we ate so many appetizers I had to take left overs home, but they ended up being a midnight snack. Because we were wanting the full experience we had to get dessert. We got roti, it was crispy, flakey yet sweet and melts in your mouth. It hit every sense! Hands down we will be back! Thank you!

The menu options at Pad Thai were pretty good. They had the standard Thai offerings such as Tom Yum, pad Thai, pad see ew, and a variety of curries. They also served some dishes that we hadn't seen elsewhere such as the Chu Chi basa (I'd recommend this). We found their dishes to be slightly too salty for our taste buds but otherwise, the flavors were nice. This is a very friendly, family-run restaurant with a very nice ambiance. To support local small businesses, I would come back again. It is evident that the ladies that own and operate Pad Thai take a lot of pride in their food and their space.

We were in the area and saw good reviews on this place so we decided to stop by. We were not disappointed! Everything we had was amazing and really flavourful especially the Drunken Shrimp and Pad Thai. Our waiter was Kalvin and he gave us immaculate service! Very welcoming and friendly. We don’t live anywhere near the area but we can’t wait to come back!

We ordered the green curry with chicken, coconut rice, pad se ew, pork fried rice. The green curry was very good, but the other stuff was ok. We didn’t really get much broccoli in the pad se ew. In the US we usually get jasmine rice included when buying an entree. I find it odd that it is not included there. We also got the mango and sticky rice. The portion of the sticky rice was really small.

The restaurant has comfortable and cozy environment . For the food quality, it is just alright, some good, some are just so so . However i am disappointed by the service: we had 7 guests and we ordered a portion of rice and shared among us. By the time we received our bill, the rice was charged with 3 portions. Even though the fee was waived immediately upon our checking. I feel the way to charge and serve without us knowing in advance was a bit sneaky. Also the portion they served us was certainly less than a proper 3 portions as listed on their menu.

We'd been wanting to try this place for quite some time, and finally decided to go for a Friday night dinner date. So glad we did! Started with the Tom Yum Goong soup, then for entrees we shared Drunken Prawns and the Pineapple Fish (Basa), with a side of coconut rice. It was all so flavourful, I wanted to lick the plates! Service was friendly, upbeat, and efficient. We will be back!

EXCEPTIONAL THAI FOOD and SERVICE!! Pad Thai Restaurant is our favorite in Calgary! The owners, manager and staff are very welcoming, and they go above to ensure your dining experience is what you're looking for. They're always very accommodating. The delectable and delightful flavors and variety of dishes, equally matched by the service is why we bring friends and family to our go-to restaurant. When we leave we're already looking forward to our return visit to Pad Thai Restaurant!

The best Thai in the city. I either dine in or order direct from the restaurant for pick up. I've eaten most things on the menu, and have loved them all. My personal favourites are, the Tom Kha Ghai soup, Pad Thai, money bags and the Green Curry. Service is always phenomenal, as a date night or dinner with the kid's. For pick up they've never once mixed up my order! It's always packaged well and ready when stated. If you haven't been it should be first on your list.

Ordered their pineapple chicken fried rice off Uber Eats for their BOGO free offer. They’re not very tasty with most of it going into trash, unfortunately. They’re quite salty with the seasoning used giving it a weird tasting mixture with the chunks of pineapples. Would not recommend this dish and probably not keen on trying anything else from this restaurant after this experience.

Nice ambiance. We ordered crispy wonton, bang bang shrimp, lemongrass chicken wings, pin wheel in appetizers, bamboo chicken, chicken red curry, noodle delight, pineapple chicken fried rice in main course and banana flambe with coconut ice-cream in dessert. The food and service were both good. There is a small parking lot & Plenty street parking is available.

Expensive for a small portion... but the decor and the wait staff was great. This is more for "taking your girl out" type of place. UPDATE: After visiting many Thai and Vietnamese restaurants, it turns out the prices are all pretty expensive compared to what I was used to in Ontario (I'm new to Calgary), so out of them all, this place would be the best since the staff is so friendly, food is excellent and it is the most beautiful, now changing from 3 stars to 5! I will now be visiting often.

The name of this restaurant says it all, they do an excellent pad thai! That's not to say the remainder of their dishes are also excellent because they are. We stopped at the restaurant on a whim and we're certainly delighted. When back in the Calgary area, we will certainly will consider dropping in again.

Had the salad rolls to start, delicious. Then had the green curry with coconut rice, and it was very tasty. The shrimp however, which was an extra 6$ was not tasty. They were not seasoned at all and were very tough. Put the whole dish off sadly. Our server was very friendly.

Went for lunch. Pad Thai cocktail was good. Calamari was too hard , Pineapple chicken fried rice didn’t feel like fried rice , but rather boiled rice . My wife didn’t like her pad Thai noodles and roti ordered for my daughter was too oily. Liked the restaurant ambience and service , but food didn’t go to our taste. It was unlike any other Thai food we had ever before .

It's OK! Really wanted a good Pad Thai with a good medium spice, what I got was zero spice and really sweet! Was flavorful....but not Pad Thai flavorful! Chicken was really dry, I didn't get the shrimp because that's how I requested it. Money bags were good, never had them before so nothing to compare to. Didn't get any utensils even though I requested them. Sadly I have had more of a Pad Thai taste from Tuk Tuk Thai. Probably won't try it again.

Best hospitality ever! We went there on short notice but they kindly accommodated us. We were a group of 5. The drunken prawns are to die for (a must try). We also tried the panang curry which was very tasty. The green curry is okay types. The papaya salad is tasty, has prawns in it. Chicken satay is also nice. The best part was the banana flambé with coconut ice cream. I would definitely come back because of the nice people and the nice food.

This place is amazing! Great gluten sensitivity, decor is stunning, and the staff are diligent, friendly, and easy to talk to. We've never had a bad meal, they put a lot of care into obviously fresh ingredients and the recipes are crafted to take advantage of each flavor profile. Wasana remembered exactly what we needed after only one visit, made sure we knew everything about our meals, and is a credit as an employee. We'll be back, and often!

Pad thai restaurant is always my favorite thai place in Calgary. Foods are the most and the best authentic. When it comes into the service is always the best. They are very accomodated with every times I go to eat. Most of all the prices are very reasonable with the portion they serve. I am very much blessed and thankful that I have somewhere to go for the best thai foods.

Have been here a few times and we keep coming back - would consider this my favorite Thai restaurant in the city. Our food came out very fast as we mentioned we were in a bit of a hurry. Suggestion - Would love to see sticky rice served with the papaya salad as that is how I recall eating it in Thailand - dipping the rice into the yummy dressing.

Finding somewhere with lots of gluten free options can be difficult, but there are lots of options here! I had the chicken salad rolls and a chicken pad Thai. First time there, I was craving Thai so I found this place with good reviews and alot of regulars raving about. I thought I would try the pad Thai since it's a staple dish... Had dinner at Pad Thai after reading good reviews online. It was amazing! Cute little restaurant in a residential area in a strip center. Indoor decor is pretty. Nice vibes. Great service. Every dish was delicious and we would come back again if we ever visit Calgary again. Drunken Prawns - shrimp with eggplant Pad Thai with chicken tofu and shrimp Chu chi basa - battered fish with curry sauce

  • Adonica Salter

We ordered the chicken pad Thai, papaya salad, and money bag dumplings. Outta this world amazing. If you like spicy food you will love it. The papaya salad has peanuts and shrimp and they ask you to choose a spice level. Dumplings have a soy ginger dipping sauce. This place is always busy with skip the dishes and takeout orders! Please support local- these folks deserve it!!

I loved how much veg is in each dish!!! Usually thai food places seem to only put 3 ingredients in each dish but all of our dishes were jam packed with flavour variety. Everything tasted great and had good presentation and service. All was reasonably priced but the ambiance made it feel like I was in a more expensive place, in a good way.

  • Terrence Lo

Nicely done Thai food. Flavors are a little more balanced such as the Tom Yung soup having a sublime taste with both heat and spices coming through equally well instead of an overwhelming sour or heat. The pad thai was excellent though a touch too sweet. Service was notable and always attentive. Will be returning to try more of the menu.
