Pal Joey's is just above a dive bar and just under a sports bar like Hooters or something along those lines. From what I can tell you get a pretty mixed crowd... Young, mid and older people... I would say 60% local neighborhood regulars and 40% other. Guy to girl ratio from my limited experience is 40 % hot female(including the bartender)20% not so hot female/ 10% good looking guys and 30% not so good looking guy... So if you got game and are good looking you are gonna get some attention. Not sure what the bartenders name was but she is smoking hot , nice, and maybe even a little flirty... Music varies to what the crowd wants which is good in my opinion. I live fairly close and think I'll become a regular just based off the service and environment. Drinks are cheap and average strength. Not a lot if places to eat around there at night so plan ahead. I think that covers everything. All in all I had a good time and will be back.

Never been here before. Needed water for four of my friends and two of the three bartenders got mad about it. Apparently I should know there was one pitcher of water for the whole bar. I go and get the pitcher and take it back to where I'm sitting so I can pour four glasses of water and like a child one of the bartenders grabs the pitcher from me walks it back over and says you pour the water over here. I try to explain that I don't want to try to pour four waters and carry them accross the bar. At some point the one reasonable bar tender brings me four waters. Never going back to this place

I can easily see this being our local watering hole. Pool tables were in great shape. Bartenders were friendly and definitely had their favorites so thats something to strive to. Their prices were a little higher than I was expecting for a dive bar which was the only downside to the place. It is surprisingly huge and was the busiest dive bar I've ever been to. They had karaoke the night we were there which everyone seemed to be having a good time with. We will be bringing our friends next time now that we know its a good spot.

bands are just a side entertainment crammed in a corner. awful audio experience. it's all about the booze, pool tables, and celebrity pictures hung all over the walls. it could be a small great sounding band experience with visuals if done up right. probably another bar owner with bar owners SYNDROME as usual! sad. As a visionary I can help any bar owner that actually would want the help. This place promotes smoking a foot away from restaurants and kids learning karate.

Bar tenders great! Band is good, but for a Sat. Day night something more modern than what seems to be slow jazz would benefit this place. We talked our 22 yt? Old niece into coming after she claims it's an old peoples bar, and honestly from the band and lack of customers she is right. We are for hard.many year patrons and this place sucks Music isn't often good, the place is still older and not renovated. bathrooms foul, good thing hard working bar tenders.

I stared enjoying tacos with my friend and my 84 year old mother until I was forcibly chased away due to the drinkers congregating outside smothering us in toxic stinky 1st, 2nd, 3rd hand cigarette smoke!!! And there's those rude folks locking their doors blasting you with a LOUD horn,, a horn that's meant for approaching a hazard. No pal of mine for sure! There's a much better and logical way to make a band sound and look awesome!!!! ♤♡◇♧

I love this place. The staff is amazing, everyone with a smile. Sarah, the manager is 100% on board making everyone feel important... from the patrons, to the sponsors to the bands that play here. Bands every weekend, come support live music. Drinks are reasonably priced. Plenty of free parking, come early to get a good table for the band or reserve a table by calling ahead. Age range from young to old depending on the event going on at the time.

One of the true dive bar gems of Allied Gardens. The drinks are strong, prices cheap, and people are friendly. What more can you want in a dive bar! Oh and they also have live music on the weekends and pool tables. If you're tired of those claustrophobic dive bars, this is the place for you. This bar is huge compared to how small it looks from the outside. And once you're done getting your drank on, go next door for a California burrito.

  • Javier Brizuela

Bartender Luis was a great host (excellent service), but at last call I had a security guy (tiny fat one) literally slap my drink off my hand as I was trying to leave. I understand I needed to leave but there are others ways to handle that situations, especially if I was cooperative and calm. I hope things change because the place has a lot of potential and I would love to go back but that is not ok.

This is a super dive bar, but only in an OK way. Cheap-ish drinks, ridiculous band, and a crazy mix of patrons (bikers, bros, grandmas, and bar-flys.). It's huge inside. Take a chance to peruse the absurd wall of pictures that are entirely unrelated to the bar. I think it's trying to be too many things. If you're in the area, jump inside and decide for yourself... it could be your thing.

  • Nahomi scott

They have karaoke with a good group that comes out and an awesome dj running karaoke. Two pool tables w purple felt. Pretty cool. League is done here. I don’t know if they have food but I know people will have food brought from next door and eat that. Bar is good with many options and service is decent. All in all, I like this place and recommend you check it out at least once (:

  • Collin Logterman

Cool little place, with cool pictures and decorations. The only downside was the local drunks. We we're there in a Sunday for pool league, and with less than 10 customers in the bar, they we're loud, obviously drunk, and interrupting the match. I understand it's a bar, but every customer not on a pool team seemed to be wasted. That can make for an uncomfortable environment.

Came here with my MeetUp group (~20 people) and had a great time. The mixed drinks were strong and the crowd was relaxed. It was Saturday night and instead of just a empty dive bar we found it active with a good band and several birthday parties being held adding to the crowd. Sound level was too high for easy conversation but not so loud one had to shout at each other.

  • Wendy McDonald

If dive bars are for you, then this is your place. It is just isn't my scene, but it is close to work so my coworkers suggested giving it a try. They have live music which is really loud in a place that small. If you enjoy loud music then again this is your place. If you want to sit and relax and enjoy conversations with coworkers you might want to go elsewhere.

  • andrew bushinski

you'll never regret coming here. super funny, friendly bar tenders! a bunch of restaurants close by to choose from either before you start drinking, or need food after drinking. lots of parking in front and in back. wednesday they have beer pong! they have great live bands all the time, karaoke, and pretty much a drink special everyday of the week.

  • cali Roma

Ive seen some great live bands play at this bar over the years. The crowd is mostly mature (50+) which is fine by me but some might not like that. Last time the bartender seemed new, and my drinks were small and weak. But it was worth it for the entertainment (no cover!) Decor and seating are pretty nice for a dive.

  • Robert Mast

Best neighborhood bar around. No food so I didn't rate it. It's a local watering hole and hits all the right spots for that. Don't come here for denim smocks and smoked cocktails. Come here for good drinks and loud music with pool tables.

The people make the bar. Quiet and away this bar is staffed with the nicest people you'll ever meet,. But beware of the night you go. I've been there on several occasions and got into it just outside over good knows what. I hope the new management has changed this scince there recent purchase.

  • Nichole “N`ikolas Brischnekof” S.

Laid back local pub, where it seemed everyone knows each other and hangs there often. The bartender was friendly and on a first name bases with patrons knowing what their usual drinks were. The prices were good. Nothing fancy, but with a great jukebox and plenty of seating. More

  • Tony Brower

We just stopped for a drink and didn't try the food, so I can't give it 5 stars. But the staff and customers were friendly and the place was comfortable. The drink was exactly as expected. Good place.

Not too bad every once in awhile you get a halfway decent band playing there usually the bar is understaffed so it takes a while to get a drink but their prices are reasonable and there's plenty of places to sit which is why I gave a three instead of two.

  • Spencer Tuck

Local "dive" bar for Allied Gardens. Not very divy though, kinda sports bar-ish inside. Some good live music and events. SUPER loud inside. Friendly staff. Looks kind of sketchy on the outside but was pleasantly surprised on the inside. Good prices.

  • Sunny McLernon

We went here about 9 on Saturday. The place was super chill, full, but not packed. There was a live band, dancing and a really easy crowd. We only stayed a bit, but I definitely enjoyed myself. The crowd was very middle aged, and easy going.

  • Terrell Hoult (Taco)

Definitely was a bit close minded starting off but because of Red the bartender, I definitely will be coming back! Extremely attentive, multi-tasking skills were amazimg and the drinks impeccable. Overall she made the experience wonderful!

  • Amardeep G

This is a nice place to go relax at and very easy to become a regular. Very nice servers and they do a lot of special nights so you don't get bored. The pool tables are also a lot of fun. Sometimes they have a live band as well.

  • Victoria Langsett

The waitress and service were top-notch. A little neighborhood bar that makes you smile as soon as you walk in. Nice cold beer. Friendly patrons. The band was excellent and I can't remember the last time I danced that much.

  • H. S.

Honestly, I only go for karaoke with JJ, they have great drink specials, their system is tops, and of course JJ is a super fun guy to hang out with. Definitely worth a visit if you're looking to sing and try something new.

  • Greg Monroe

Bartenders very attentive. Very nice. Wasn't real busy. The band was very good. Good reggae music. People there appreciated the band's music. Some would dance on songs and they would clap in appreciation after every song.

  • Darrell Steinberg

Red, the personable bartender is the best!!!! LOVE the Dancing on the Weekend's Karaoke 3 other nights of the week. Two Pool Tables for change, very inexpensive. Just a great mix of fun customers, and laughs !!!!

  • Douglas LeClair

Definitely a locals only kind of neighborhood bar. Bartender was friendly but not attentive. Live jazz band performed but everyone was watching college football. Twenty minutes to get a weak albeit cheap drink.

Great place for drinks and live music. Bigger thank you would think looking at it from the outside. Cool vibe with the leather and dark wood booths. Great band on Sunday nights playing Reggae ,Funk and Soul.

  • Marisa L

There was a band playing and it was so loud that it took away from being able to talk to anyone I was there with. So if I want to hang out with a group of friends I definitely won't go there again.

  • Brisa Torres

Great dive bar with live band on Saturdays. It was an 80/90s cover band when we were there and they were great! Staff was super friendly and the bartenders were attentive and the drinks were good.

  • Diana Smith

This place has character. I love this place. People are nice. Staff can get slow during live music. I don't think they have good but there are a few places in the strip mall if it's not too late.

Cute little dive bar with a large dance floor and good live music on weekends. Reasonable drink prices and a mellow vibe makes it one of our favorite dancing venues.

  • Wes Calafata

Not a bad place for what it is. Over all a good watering hole. Good service. Ok place to get a ice cold beer after a long day. Just don't look to close at the decor.
