I am blown away by the level of customer service starting from the wash station attendant (Christina) right down to the Manager on Duty (Mike). I've been to Palms Car Wash a couple of times since moving to the Brodie Lane area and the amount of kindness and quality customer service I received today, truly left me speechless. When I went to get my car washed last week one of the car wash attendants suggested I come back Monday - Wednesday to get my car detailed (this way I wouldn't wait 3+ hrs during busy times). I decided to come back Monday morning at 9:00 AM. Knowing they had a Detail Center Lobby with wifi, I brought my laptop to be able to answer work emails during the quoted hour wait time. Unfortunately for me, there were about 6 other vehicles waiting to be detailed and on top of this, their Guest Wifi wasn't working. When I approached the Manager on Duty (Mike) and asked him to look into the wifi issue, he happily escorted me back to the lobby where he went into a room and tried to fix the issue. After roughly 10 minutes, he let me know that it wasn't able to be fixed and they needed a Tech to come out. Frustrated and irritated, I asked how much longer my car would take. With honesty and compassion he said it would probably be a couple of hours still since they had an influx of vehicles to be detailed and were short-staffed due to the pandemic. I let him know I couldn't wait that long because I had a meeting at 11:00 AM that I needed wifi for. As I was ordering a Lyft, Mike then asked how close I lived (which I replied 10 minutes) and he offered to drive me home. With lyfts costing outrageous amounts these days and knowing I was on a time crunch, I graciously accepted Mike's offer. To my surprise, around 1:00 pm, Mike called me back to let me know my car was ready and asked if I was ready for him to come pick me up. SHOCKED was an understatement. The fact that he not only brought me home, but also picked me up to bring me back to my car was beyond kind and generous. After experiencing Mike and his staff's kindness -- the car itself looked absolutely INCREDIBLE!! I've had months of pet hair, cross-country travels, sports equipment, etc in my vehicle. My SUV literally looks BRAND NEW! Mike, thank you so much. Your kindness and generosity are a true testament to why I support local businesses. Great people do exist and hopefully this serves as a reminder to be kind to strangers. You never know how much of a difference you can make in someone's life by showing another person kindness, compassion and grace.
This place has great reviews, I was needing a place in austin that had good vacuums and air blowers- and that’s why I drove 20 minutes for it. I get there and they said they were only accepting cash, but could take Venmo or cash app. I didn’t have cash but I had Venmo or cash app so the girl asked me what service I wanted and put the P on my car, told me to drive up and they would help me with payment at the start of the wash. I get up there (mind you the line is so long) so I had been waiting and the next woman tells me that they cannot accept cash app or Venmo because their internet is down. So I cannot go through the wash, and I now have a P Written and marked in wax on my windshield. So I pull into the vacuums. They aren’t working. I start wiping down my car interior and the vacuums are working on and off. A man walks up to me and says “you know why I’m about to talk to you right?” I’m clueless at this point and have no idea. I have never came here before. He tells me only clean cars are supposed to be using the vacuums and people have been telling him my car is dirty. There are supposedly signs everywhere saying only clean cars can use this area. I tell him about when I arrived and tried to go through the wash, have not been here before. He tells me it’s fine and to go through the wash without paying. Just give them his name. I get to the wash. Wait in the 15 car line again. Get to the front and the man Roland who told me to use his name for the wash asks me for money. I told him I just spoke with him and he apologized. Then I go through the wash, they dry off my car and I leave. A piece of my car from my windshield flies off of my car as I’m driving home. Will not be coming here again because of this experience and now have to pay for a new car part.
A little long but my honest review about this place. I went in there for the 1st time, bought 3 of the detailed packages i believe it was the (cleaning/conditioning of my seats, carpet wash, and deep cleaning of my inside of the car cup holders, vents etc.) Well i wasn't very impressed, the whole back of my SUV was not even vacuumed, nor under my seats. Not even considering i had paid to get my carpets cleaned/washed. I was very disappointed, so i decided to go back and talk to someone about getting the job finished (finish cleaning the back part of my car and under my seats). The manager on duty was awesome about the inconvenience, looked at my car and right away told me they would redo my whole car again. I wasn't expecting that; it made me feel good about their customer service and making sure i was happy. They even restored my headlights. 2nd time around my car was looking like new!! I was very happy with their service and care for their customers. Will definitely recommend this place!!! So many options and you can customize what you really want/need. I think my guy the 1st time was not having a good day and therefore didnt put his 100 to cleaning my car. Im just happy the issue got solved.
⚠️ My car was damaged and the manager is now ignoring us. On 9/9/21 we were guided into the car wash by an employee, mid way through there was a noise from the driver side of the car but we figured everything was ok as the employees drying our car did not say anything to us. We arrived home to see our side panel barely hanging on. There were pieces missing and a scratch. I sent an email that evening asking how they are going to make this right. The manager, Roland, seemed like he wanted to make things right. My husband came down to speak with him and he said he would send us to a collision place to get fixed, he would buff the scratch out, then run the car through to find out what happened. I visited the collision place he recommended and Richard took down our vin # and said he would order the part. When contacted, Richard gave an excuse every time. We even helped him with information to find the part, then my last call was a complete avoidance to take care of this after over 2 months! I texted Roland that i was done dealing with this collision place and it’s been crickets since. I’m not wasting any more time trying to let them make this right.
—The detail jobs are really good here; they do amazing shampoo jobs. —They do need a better check-in and checkout system, because it’s really confusing to check in, and I even directed multiple people myself where to go to get started. I was a little disappointed with the three hours that it was taking for my basic detail, and then found out “oh, it’s already done.” They claimed to have called out my car model when they finished (I was in the lobby the entire time), but then I was just left hanging after they apparently tried once. Not sure if it was an hour or more additional that I was waiting, but they should be texting people when the car is done. Any other system than walking in the lobby and calling your car out once. If a customer steps out for a moment, goes to the restroom, or is on a phone call when they say their car model, they’re really just going to leave it up to that customer to just figure it out? It put a major damper on my visit this time. Also, bring something to sit on afterwards; they didn’t give a plastic sheet or anything to use for going home on wet seats.
Great value for detailing. I've never had my car detailed so I chose to get shampooed seats and a detailed vacuum. After completion of my detail, I immediately noticed crumbs/dirt still in some parts of my car and the gentleman kindly cleaned up what I pointed out. When I arrived home, I did a more thorough check and honestly it just looked like a halfway job. I thought I could've done a better vacuum myself. There was dirt/crumbs under my carpets (as if they didn't lift them to vacuum) and wet crumbs in my seats which made me think he didn't vacuum my seats before shampoo. After calling Palms and leaving a voicemail explaining my concerns, Liz the manager on duty called back within 2 minutes and offered to re-do my detail the next day. Thanks Liz!! The detail the second time around was awesome! They had several people working on it when I arrived to pick it up and they even ran it through the car wash again. I will definitely be coming back and I've already referred my boyfriend to go by! *Still deducting one star for it needing to be re-done
Craig and his team at Palms Car Wash truly outdid themselves in getting my Tahoe into pristine 'sell-ready' condition. I had an unfortunate experience with another auto detailer in town—they charged me double, rushed the job, and left my truck with noticeable dirty spots both inside and out. It was so bad that I insisted on a refund. Frustrated, I found myself driving south and stumbled upon Palms Car Wash. From the moment I arrived, Craig extended a warm welcome and attentively listened to my story. We went over the specific detailing needs my Tahoe still required, and he presented various cleaning solutions tailored to meet those needs. Craig even personally took the extra steps to shampoo my carpet and buff out some unsightly scratches on my hood. The result? My SUV now looks better than ever—I couldn't be more thrilled. The team at Palms genuinely paid attention to every single detail, which is precisely what you hope for when entrusting someone to detail your vehicle.
This was my first time going here. I loved almost everything about Palms - except their limited (and I mean VERY limited) lot. If you're coming in from Brodie, the left lane if for the vacuums and the right lane is for the car wash. If you're coming in from Wm Cannon (which i didn't even know was a possibility until I was in line and saw the other line). Crazy, confusing. Loved the service! Great car wash! Vacuums are self-serving and free. They also have bays where you can wash your own vehicle. Be patient if the weather is nice because you will be in line for quite sometime. Worth the wait though. It was a really good car wash. I just did not like all the lines/lanes going in this direction and that direction. I would go here again, but it'll be very early in the morning when they open. So check your lane when you pull in and on a busy day prepare to be there for an hour(+/-). The staff was really helpful, but they were moving (fast) - as car wash attendants do!!
I don't normally leave bad reviews but I have talked with management and nothing gets done. First off, the good stuff! The normal employees, excellent, the automatic wash, great, the vacuums and towels, etc. Awesome! That's why there are 2 stars here. What's wrong you might ask? The self wash bays. I don't use the wash tunnel because they leave swirls in my paint. Instead I use the self wash bays. However, they are literally always broken. The brush doesn't work because the hose is always broken. There is no weather x because they "don't want to keep replacing the parts to run it" the wheel and tire cleaner is non-existent. The spot free rinse, full of spots.... The air blower, weaker than blowing on the car with my mouth. All of this for an average car wash cost of significantly more than a tunnel wash. Happy to add some stars, palms car wash, change my mind.
DO NOT GET YOUR CAR WASHED HERE!!! ESPECIALLY DO NOT BUY A MONTH-LONG MEMBERSHIP! The membership will automatically recur every month even if you ask for them to cancel it, and even if you do not use it. Cancelling it is a pain and it is simply not worth going here. RESPONSE TO THE RESPONSE FROM THE OWNER: That's fair, except that when I purchased the plan, the manager (big guy with a grill) himself told me that it was good for only 30 days and said absolutely nothing about a recurring charge. I'm not even trying to get my money back at this point, I just want the recurring charges to stop but since I threw my sticker out after the original 30 days, I no longer have the number that y'all require to cancel the plan. Needless to say, all this trouble that I've gone through just to try and cancel the plan has a lot to do with the one-star review.
Run a small 5 car rental fleet and am pretty close to stopping using this place. The employees seem to be failing them, or are contributing to poor service. On ANY given day, good luck getting one of the vacuums after you wash your car. More often than not, they have half the vacuum’s blocked off, and if you’re not a fan of pumpin’ bass from multiple customer’s it’s not the place for you. The one thing they are effective at, is running you off the vacuums 15 minutes before close. I use the wash stalls now, because the couple times I used the drive through, the missed large parts of the car. It’s next to the gas station I use, which at this point is the only reason I still go. I’m not sure the credit card reader in the stalls charges correctly as well. You think it’s going to be 3.50 when you stop it, but it still charges you $10
My 2006 car has never been detailed before. While it wasn't in terrible condition due to no children or pets, it still is a vehicle that has been well traveled. Aside from an observation I made between a male associate swearing at a female associate and then trying to get me involved (to which I brought to management's attention) I am giving this place 4 stars that easily could be a 5 if it wasn't for that incident; the slot in my driver's side door not being cleaned out and one other crevice; and restocking of the surgar and creamer at the coffee station, this place is THE BEST PLACE TO GET YOUR CAR DETAILED in Austin. Look no further. Palms Car Wash will rock your car's sock's off and have it looking like a brand new vehicle in a few hours.
Who wants a detail without a car wash??? Seriously...do people really do that? You're already in the car wash line before you know that those 2 services are exclusive of each other...what?!?! Yes, I could have chosen to just wash the car because I HAD to that at this point since that's the only way out of the line, but I opted to also do the detail since that was the whole reason I went there in the first place. I have been out of state for a few years, so I'm not sure when this changed but, yeah, you buy a detail package - the one I chose was $49.99 + the car wash separately. All in all, I paid $61 for a car wash/detail (just basic packages). Needless to say, I will not be getting detail services from this place in the future.
I come to this car wash regularly and have never had a problem. My car is clean and the free vacuums are very helpful. Today, however, after I paid and was waiting for the bar to raise, the rudest woman knocked on my window and told me there was an issue with the boat rack I have on top of my car. I told her it’s always been fine, I haven’t had trouble before. I asked her a clarifying question, which she clearly didn’t understand. She then told me she’s never seen me before, worked here 4 years and that I didn’t know what I was talking about. Probably going to find another car wash, I don’t appreciate being verbally assaulted by someone that I didn’t need to have contact with in the first place.
I went to Palms Car Wash for my first time getting a car detailed. At first, I was ready to leave a 1-star review. A mishap caused my car to not get detailed, leading to 2 wasted ubers and a good amount of wasted time. The manager (Trey) spoke with me and offered to do the detailing the next day, a complimentary ride home and back, and a free wax. The next day they finished everything up in an hour, and my car has never looked this good! Honestly it looks even better than the day I bought it. I highly recommend this place for the variety of services offered, the value, and the excellent customer service in their willingness to correct mistakes. I'll be going back next time I need a car wash!
If you’re in the Austin area looking for car detailing services, I would HIGHlY suggest not going to the palms car wash on Brodie lane. I arrived with my phone charger connected to the USB port in my car and came back with it gone. I can’t even get my car detailed without having my items stolen from my car BY THE EMPLOYEES!!! My car is CLEAN, so there aren’t many places to look to find it in here. I’ve searched my center console, glove compartment, my trunk, doors, and underneath my seats. NOTHING! The manager bought me a new one, and rightfully so, but smh humans are ridiculous! I really used to like this location for my car wash and detailing services, but today will definitely be my last!
I just had the best experience with Elizabeth! I called asking if they could help me clean up puke that was all over the passenger seat of my car. She helped me figure out what needed to be done and even offered to do an exterior wash for free. When I brought my car in, she paid attention to every detail and was very friendly and funny. When it was time to pick it up, my car looked nicer than it did when I got it from the dealership! Puke free! She gave me nice smelly things for the car, and told me to come back in a couple days to make sure it was still nice and clean. She even gave my mom (who drove me back to my car when it was done) a free car wash too! Thanks so much Elizabeth!
The drive thru car wash does an excellent job, however once you roll out is where there's consistently a challenge. I routinely pay to have the tires detailed, yet I always have to ask for them to do this once I pull out...and the workers don't know great English. In addition, this morning I asked for them to wipe down the windshield again since one of the workers' towels obviously had some sort of chemical on it that left residue, and he literally looked at me and said Oh My God. It's important to know I always also give a $5 tip for the 45 seconds of hand drying to show gratitude. Definitely a colossal opportunity for management.
Great car wash and love the vacs and detail towels they provide. My only issue is I always have a new nick in my alloy rims whenever the car goes thru the wash. It’s always a jolt as if the wheels hit something on the track. After I take it to the vacuum area, I notice a fresh gouge in the rims, every single time. I have factory alloy wheels on a 2019 Jetta, and only had one or two nicks on them before I started bringing my car here more regularly. Seems like there needs to be a checkup or maintenance on the equipment coming in close contact to the wheels. Update: Gaslighting the customer on issues isn’t helpful either.
Good automatic car wash but don't expect same results as manual wash. It has different options from $8 basic to adding undercarriage wash, wheels, wax... They towel dry the last wet spots. Result is ok. The car came out 90% clean, but a few spots remaining at the bottom of doors, on hood, and the inside wheels. An extra 5 min hand clean myself took care of most of that. A nice tip is that you have free access to their detailing stations with a wash purchase. You can vacuum, air spay and towel clean the car interior yourself. They also offer professional detailing services but I have not tried it.
I had such an excellent experience at Palms Car Wash!!! My car needed some serious cleaning after my new puppy vomited down the side of the passenger seat. After going through the wash and detailing, both managers Liz and Will came by to see how things were looking and when it still smelled a little bad, they rolled up their sleeves and got in there for another good clean (Liz pictured here!!). I was so impressed at how hard they work to make their customers happy. The smell came out and I am so happy with the results! Thank you all for your hard work, I will definitely be coming back.
My favorite quick car wash spot! They are inexpensive and offer free vacuuming with every car wash purchase. They have self wash and also the drive thru. They have a detailing center if you want to go that route as well! I took my car here after running over fresh paint on the ground and they were able to remove all of it in about 30 minutes! The staff is super friendly and the manager is always walking around and making sure the customers are happy. They are super busy on the weekends, so the vacuuming area gets backed up, but if you go early or during the week it’s quick!
This Palms Car Wash location is not the place to go to get your vehicle washed, unless your car is already clean, if you have a dirty vehicle it comes out still dirty, due to the lack of spraying and scrubbing of the vehicle. Their vacuums are not very powerful as well, barely sucks anything up! In regards to customer service, the employees will treat you as if you came to wash your car for free when you bring up a concern. They are very rude an unprofessional (especially the two ladies managing the place). I probably could have gotten a better wash at a gas station.
Michael and others did an amazing job on my car (even stayed after hours to make sure it was perfect). Highly recommend the showroom special detail package. Only time the car has ever looked better was when the car was bought brand new! Even though I live in north Austin, it is well worth the drive for the fantastic service and attention to detail at this place and will be using them for all my detailing needs in the future. The detail package even includes headlight restoration and engine bay detailing, I just couldn’t stop myself from taking pictures!
I detail my car myself as most there do, and I have been doing that for years. They haven't changed the cloths that we use to wipe our cars with in most of those years. They ask you to only use two cloths which is fine, but the cloths they give you are old and raggedy. The cloths are wet when they put them out for us to use. Meanwhile the detaining section that they have use better quality and are dry. They should treat us with some respect and at the very least get us two cloths that actually work. By gettimg us some new clothes.
I’ve always liked coming here, but today Roland made me sure that this was my favorite car wash location! He let me know that they upgraded their self-service washes to accept dollar bills instead of solely quarters & cards. I got in line to get the machine wash and he recommended the Ceramic wash, which left my car Cherry red the way it was meant to be! Roland thanks for being awesome! Tried finding you after to thank you again, but I figured you deserved a shout out via my first Google Review. Keep up the awesome work!
I used a self-service bay in the middle of the night. I appreciated that the property had sufficient lighting because there are "interesting" people wandering around because of the 7-11 convenience store across the street which is open all night. That said, I didn't notice any on-site security so I'm not sure how I would feel about being there alone at that hour if I were female. I also appreciated that the self-wash bays accept credit cards so you don't have to carry a bunch of quarters or small bills to wash your car.
I had a bad experience on Sunday 4/3/22 around 5pm. I was first approached by a Hispanic female worker harrassing me about using the vacuum. She told me her supervisor advised her to, "keep an eye on me". Shortly after the white lady with the glasses complained about me spraying degreaser on my rims to loosen the brake grime . As hard as I work to earn my stay in this city, all I wanted to do was wash my truck after a long working weekend. I will never use this car wash again. I felt disrespected and targeted.
Excellent value, they did everything they said they would do, which is strangely a 50/50 chance at other places. The car wash tunnel is highly effective and very fast, there are many options that allow you to work with your budget and also get a really high quality wash with durable protection. The detailing service is very high quality and they offer bundle discounts. Incredibly friendly staff also performed beyond expectation by finishing an entire hour early. Very impressed and will be a regular customer.
Always prefer this car wash because the pressure is good to wash your car. Today they were under construction and there was handwashing detailing. The service workers did an excellent job cleaning my car. However, I started out trying to wash my own car and the spray hose was out of soap. I talked to a manager and she gave me a complimentary car wash as a result. The staff are great, but when you see something wrong say something. They were quite busy today, and I appreciated the manager fixing the issue.
Great car wash for those of us that like to vacume out our own cars and save $12-15 compared to a full service car wash. It's $8 for the basic wash but, they dry your car as you exit the full blown exterior soft brush detailed wash. In addition, you can use their window cleaner and towels to touch up your car in the vacuum area...vacuums work great. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is that on busy days, you might have to wait in line to vacuum like I did that took about 7-10 minutes of waiting time.
Best car wash in South Austin! I've been coming here for 10 years and never been disappointed. Sometimes on Fridays it is a little bit busy and you have to wait in line but other than that there are so many free vacuum stalls and car wash stalls that it can even take a heavy load on Friday on a sunny day after a rain The detailing is also a great deal and for only $20 they will wash and hand dry your vehicle. This also includes the rims and the tires which really makes everything pop.
Great self car wash. Would have given 5 instead of 4, heck its more of a 4.5 rating. $2.25 gives you like 3 minutes. Can't lose with the free vacuum. I'm always weary of free vacuum because they don't pack a punch but these were quite good. I had a bunch of dried up mud in my car, and took everything up (I should really buy a new mat lmao). Only complaint is that the car wash timer does not make a sound when time is running low. Would be great to get a beep when under a minute.
I am done with this place. Went a couple of months ago and was treated very rudely by employees as they approached me. Car wash then was so-so. Went today for an Ultimate. Got home and saw where the lower side panels and wheel wells were still filthy as if the lower part of the car had not been washed. My car is garaged and the only thing on it was from driving on recent wet roads causing (very light) dirt. I probably could have gotten a better wash at a gas station.
Palms car wash is great - great price and good quality wash. The only complaint (and lack of 1 star) is about the ability to tip the hard-working staff. You have to get out of your car and go to the ATM machine (which will likely charge you fees!). Why can't you just add it to the transaction when you pay for the car wash? The employees work hard - especially in summer - you shouldn't make it difficult or unsafe (during COVID) to tip them if you don't carry cash!
A little disappointed in the service this time around. I’ve been here a few times and my car has looked incredible. But today it was like there was a haphazard attempt to detail both inside and outside: There was crumbs and hair in seat crevices that I cleaned after; Had it waxed but still swirl marks remained - I finished buffing myself; I sprayed and cleaned some of the seats as well. Poor attempt to detail. Hopefully next time is better!
This is the only place I get my car done. Things are always handled with care, even if there is a mishap that's out of their control. My car was recently detailed to get my seats shampooed, sanitized and dog hair removed. It was packed in and they all did SUCH an amazing job getting things so very clean! It looks brand new. I really appreciate the hard work and dedication from this crew and I will always be a customer.
Great, really hard working staff. They even sent me back to outer wash just because they believed my car was not clean enough (well, may be because last time I washed it was ages ago ) They also have DIY vacuum for wash customers, which is great when it is not one of your lazy days. Oh, I also loved the large patio/garden especially if you want to stay outdoors. All in all, great car wash experience.
The staff are super attentive and welcoming. I had so many questions about different services as I'm new to the whole detailing and car washes. Super patient. They made sure my vehicle got the love it needs. Offered me coffee and even carried my heavy carseat for me so I didn't have to. They have a great deal going on for detailing services. I love their energy here. Everyone looks busy and hardworking.
I've been calling to try and cancel my unlimited membership for months now since I moved from Austin. Not only does this business not answer phone call they outsource all customer care services to a company call micrologic that just give you the run around on palms behalf. Extremely dissatisfied! It's very easy to sign up for the membership but almost impossible to cancel when no longer needed. Beware!
I really love this place I just hate how it’s consistently busy at times. But I can’t help that me and hundreds of others love their services because they really are the best in town! I’ve been to several car washes and none compare to this one. The restrooms are extremely clean and the staff is friendly. I always feel welcomed. I pay $24 a month for unlimited washes. It’s pretty awesome !
I got the 2 detailing packages for $79. It came with a car wash. Despite the myriad of signs it was confusing to navigate. There are signs that say they only do detailing until 6 pm; but I arrived at 6:15 pm and left with a fairly good clean by 7:25 pm (despite my 3 dogs). Everyone was friendly. Three other people waiting on cars also said they were confused on where to go and what to do.
I went in about a week ago to have my car washed and detailed and they did an AMAZING job! I have zero complaints. There also happened to be a young guy there that fixed a chip in my windshield that I had been meaning to fix! He was very professional and friendly. Being able to get your car washed, and your windshield fixed all in one spot is very convenient, I could not be happier!
I had my car washed here and I was pleased with their service in the end. So you actually drive through a car wash, but they spray your car off first before you drive through. Once you are done with the wash they hand dry it. AWESOME!! And to add they have free vacuums for their customers. They offer detailing, carpet cleaning and other related services. I will go back.
Ok it is slightly pricey, but I find it well worth it. Great vacuuming and detailing stations with enough slots that I've never waited to get in. I generally do the drive through washing machine, but there are lots of power wash stalls that have easy to use CC pay stations and all the brushes and spray wands one would expect. Palms is my fist choice on car wash day.
Good price for the membership, terrible service. There is one troll in particular who is always working at the entrance and is isolated so impatient constantly yelling put it in neutral. For Tesla it takes a moment to enter car wash mode and enable free roll. It’s unnecessary, shouting, and unpleasant away from the good is offset some one acting like a jerk. Yuck.
Always get a clean car and there's always people waiting to hand dry your car and recently they've been putting tire shine on too. They're in a super convenient location for me so I buy a monthly pass for unlimited washes for about $25, that way I can pop in at random times during the week when there's never more than a few minutes to wait. I love these guys!
Seems like this place only cares about how many cars get through and not the quality of the wash. I had to go back and wash my car myself because over half the dirt was still on the car. On the lamp indentation, handles, trim and edges of windowss and rear bumper wasnt even cleaned they just ran over it quickly with a brush and not payed attention to the dirt
This place is the best! The automatic wash has never scratched up my car like I’ve had happen at other places in the past, and there’s even guys at the end to towel dry your car off. Plenty of vacuums that are never clogged up. As a car wash aficionado of sorts, this is my favorite place in Austin, I make the trip from East Austin just to wash my car.
The value was great. Used the self wash. In the vacuum area, they have towels for customers to use (They ask limit of 2, which is fair) as well as glass cleaner. These are very handy and appreciated. I recommend this place for a quick wash and cleaning. Was able to do a complete cleaning of both mine and my wife's car (although not at the same time).
I have used this car wash since they opened (many years ago), since the o.g. Manager used to say, “we’ll beat up the Genie and take their lunch money.” Best self-service bays in the city, best vacuum/air gun bays in the biz. Best employees, and they are always in a good mood. They are happy for whatever you can tip, even if it ain’t cash. Always.
I was so impressed by the $8 express wash. My car went in pretty dirty and I was shocked at how clean it got! I love that they let you use the vacuums, cloths and cleaner for free when you buy a wash so you can get the inside clean as well. Couldn’t believe it was only $8! If I lived closer I would definitely sign up for the $24/month deal.
My experience was fantastic! Selling my 2018 van with 80k. I got the showroom special detail. Dropped off 9am picked up at 5 pm. Looked brand new. Put on craigslist and literally first call in 5 minutes car was sold to first caller same day. Detail team were courteous and professional. Did I mention we live in Bastrop..well worth the ride!
I love this place. They do a great job. I used to go to Genie (for decades), but they've apparently given up - I won't ever go back. Found Palms and I couldn't be happier with my car washes. If there is a long line when you arrive, just know that it moves really quickly. They have the car wash process down to a science. Super efficient!
Love the drive-through wash and the self-service vacuums here. I'm taking one star off for the forced tipping at the end. You should be able to choose to just drive off with no towel dry if you want. I almost never have cash on me, so I will often opt to just skip coming here in favor of a gas-station wash when I need to clean my car.
My pickup has not been so clean, since new. The wash is fast and effective, the interior detail fantastic. Smells new all around, my leather seats sound as new when settling into them. Very pleased. Do make sure you have adequate time when you visit, this level of detail takes will take the time it takes. Enjoy your fresh ride...
I think it is great that they offer plenty of free vacuums stations, as well as cleaning products and towels/rags of you want to do as quick clean yourself. The full service wash/detail is above average and affordable. Getting in and out of the self serve spaces can bea little tricky during peak hours, but Definitely worth it
Free vacuums and hand towel drying after you go through the car wash. Everyone is super nice. It’s usually pretty busy so be sure to do your major detailing at home and just use the vacuums to be respectful. You’ll be happy you found this gem. Great for rideshare drivers looking to keep their cars clean and fresh on a budget.
The Showroom Detail turned our 2011 CRV into a new car. The difference is stunning and the detail team truly did an amazing job. Roland and Liz made our experience with Palms very personal, which is everything to us. Thank you so much for being an amazing part of our local community. Best car wash.and detail experience ever.
This is by far the best car wash in town, I’ve tried all the main providers, and the detailing that they do at the shop particularly the south location which is the one I’ve used is outstanding. They will make your car look like it’s brand new. There’s a married couple who work together there and they are awesome five stars
I think the machines and system to getting my car washed are perfect. I hate getting my car "toweled dry " and feeling guilt about not having cash to tip. To make things worse they block the exit so you are forced to go out through them no matter what. It's 100F and makes no sense at all for this forceful final step.
The best in Austin! I got my car washed and the inside seats shampooed and frequent them for their self carwash and amazing vacuums. Huge shout out to Nikki! She was such a sweetheart and an incredibly kind human all around. They made sure my new car was perfect and went above and beyond! I will definitely be back.
I just purchased a new car about a month ago and decided to go through the drive through car wash. When I went to vacuum my car I noticed at least five different scratches that all resemble markings from the brushes. I would not recommend going through the car wash if you'd like to keep your car free of scratches
Usually pretty busy especially on Sunday but it’s the best car wash I’ve found in austin so far that’s not a “drop off and detail place” although they do have that. Feee vacuums, sprays, and towels for self service, self service wash, auto-washing, detailing, and I think they also have a repair place on the lot.
Maria, in detailing was awesome! She approached my vehicle as soon as I drove up, I told her I wanted a wash with detail and she explained exactly what that entailed along with pricing. She and another gentleman detailed my vehicle and I was extremely satisfied!! I will be stopping by weekly, thank you!!
Not only did they completely clean my car and make it look magical. These guys went above and beyond and helped me take off a bad paint spill with the exterior of my car! I tried touching it up with touch up paint which made it way worse but they fixed everything. Best car wash in Austin hands down!!
At Palms they do a really good job at getting your car clean. From the wash, to the hand dry and the vacuums, your car will look good. The only real downside is it’s popularity. It is often busy and the line to get to the wash can be hard to navigate. I try to go at off times to avoid the crowds.
What the heck??! Just went through the supposedly “24/7” car wash and it stopped midway through! The tracks stopped rolling and the water stopped spraying... had to drive out and pay for a self service rinse!! Fix your wash or fix your sign, it doesn’t matter to me- I just wanted a clean car!
I like this place to go wash and clean out my car sometimes but it does get busy especially on the weekends when you got a long line of cars waiting for all the services there. I would recommend this place but try to go early as it gets busy. Nice clean place though to was your car.
Overall pretty good. $2.50 to start self wash with all the options. Free vacuums with glass cleaner and towels. -1 star because there was a 10 min line to wait for a vacuum to become available. They also offer detail packages starting at $49.99 and a drive-thru machine wash as well.
I used the hand wash and went around the car four times which cost me $5. Afterwards, I drove and found a spot where they had free vacuuming. After that, they put out some clean towels and I dried off the water stains and clean the windshields and I thought it was well worth it.
Wow! Oh man. Wow! This place is thorough to say the least. The staff are helpful and polite. There are lots of options for whichever level of car wash you need. From doing it yourself, to leaving it entirely in the hands of the pros. Men’s and Women’s restrooms are in the lobby.
I love this car wash!!! I can wash my car by hand.. and they have free vacuums and air sprayer and towels and cleaner for you to use!! Always clean!! Can get busy when the weather is nicer but definitely worth it!!! They also have detailing services if you aren't a diyer... lol
First time in. I bought a full detail package for my white Tundra and they did a great job. I got check ins from managers Crystal and Roland. They made sure my truck was tip top. I’m really happy with the result and will be a regular customer now. Highly recommended …
Had a really good experience today. I needed my truck washed/waxed and the inside full detailed. They knew I didn’t have a lot of time so they got me in and out under an hour. My truck is super clean inside and out. I’ll be back the next time one of our vehicles needs a bath.
The unlimited wash is definitely worth it. Waiting in lines behind the people who probably take forever at an ATM sucks. Drive right through is great. Sometime the vacuums are out. Or not all of them are working. Or the suction is weak. Well, a lot of times. Still worth it.
Good car wash place which offers free vacuum. Even their basic car wash does a decent job if the car is not very dirty. I am not a fan of the towel dry though as they often leave stain marks on windows and windshield. Maybe they need to change towels more frequently.
Best time to go is when everyone else is at work. Keep in mind it's pretty good about getting your average daily dirt off your vehicle, but if there's any serious accumulation, just know that your gonna have to get it waxed or detailed for a genuine deep cleaning
Good quality services with a typical but well kept car wash tunnel. Always has plenty of staff on hand to move lines quickly. There is a free vacuum area (intended for already paying customers) which is really nice but there can sometimes be a long line
I have always been happy with the service I have received at The Palms. However, Nikki is the one who always makes me feel special and heard and respected. Someone needs to give this lady a raise, and someone else needs to give her 2 more raises!
My son and I love this place. Great deal and amazing you can use the great vacuums for free with a drive through wash. Nikki was great too. She helped me understand my options on the washes and went out of her way to make sure the bugs got off!
Love the free vacuums, free window cleaner and rags. The car wash itself is great too. Lots of soap, powerful water pressure and great suction on the vacuum cleaners. Also the air shooters are a great plus for cleaning the interior crevices.
This is a good place to clean your car or to have it cleaned. The people are nice. But it's very popular, and it can be very busy. Forget about going there on a nice day on the weekend. They have a drive-through car wash or they have bases
I got the hand car wash since the tunnel was down for renovations and the basic detail. I would recommend this place if you need a convenient clean and dont expect it to be perfect though. The hand wash and dry was okay. Still had some bug
Where else can you wash your ride with HOT, soapy water? Credit card option is a time saver and now you only have to swipe once and then hit a "stop"button when you're done. Free vacuums! Magical pressurized air tool that will blow all the
So this was my first time here. It was a bit confusing where to go, maybe a number system would be nice. But after figuring out you start with the car wash it was easy from there. If you want to pay for detail then you have to get one of
I have been a long term custom of the Palms Car Wash on Brodie. Besides the great staff and service, I really enjoy purchasing the tire shine that they offer. Sadly, I only receive it 50% of the time. Wish it could be more consistent.
Love this place! Fast and easy with great service. Free vacuums after the wash too. They have every version of car wash - drive-through, self-service, and full service detailing. I love that they dry my car after the drive through!
Five stars because of the perfect location and they do such an amazing job. The waiting center is very convenient also. Sometimes I manually wash my car and this place is great because it has the larger bays for larger vehicles.
Place is awesome 24/7 self service self clean stations, and during the day the vacuum stations come with free towels and window cleaner. I will say the staff are super nice but the manager is kind of a douche to customers.
Great place for a car wash, but be warned if it is a nice day you will be waiting since tons of other people go here also. I have never had a issue and the line moves smoothly. Nothing bad to say, you get what you pay for.
This car wash store is well run. Staff members are professional and thorough. The free vacuums on site are a true value add. Prices very competitive - you definitely get a bang for your buck. Would thoroughly recommend.
Not many drive in and self service car washes in Austin, but glad I found this one. Employees are super nice and the whole area is very well maintained. Complimentary towels at the vacuum stations for customer use.
Detailed the vett for the upcoming show... Liz and the crew were awesome.. took a little extra time but totally worth it...I tipped over 20% for the above and beyond service. Definitely going back there again.
After waiting in line for 25 minutes, the car wash didn't register the right car. Paid for platinum and got a basic then no one drying the car was able to understand or fix the problem. Not a good experience.
Palms just detailed my fiancés truck and did an outstanding job. There was a ton of dog hair and they took their time to remove it. I am beyond impressed with their work and will be taking my car here too.
I like it. I use the do it yourself wash and then vacuum the floor. The vacuum is free. Last time they were having problems. They wanted me to move, but then changed their mind. Everything worked fine.
I came to palms for the first time today. Nikki helped me figure out all the details and what services my car needed. She was a huge help! Huge plus, the detail stations are free to use self service!
As busy as it was, the staff was quick to take care of us and it was done right. Easy access to the vacuums meant it was quick and easy to detail the car inside and out for a super reasonable price!
The attendant 2 months ago hit 19.99 for 1 wash and reactivated my old sticker. I have been trying to cancel for 2 months. Followed the video but it won't cancel my account. No one responds.
