"Food is great, but process to get the food could be improved"
Let's start with the customer service. The lady that took my order at the counter was very friendly. She was ready to give a recommendation, but I had already decided by the time I got to the front of the line. They give you a little buzzer and then you go wait at your table. The delivery is prompt and less than 5 minutes. The kale salad was delicious. My major criticism with Kale salads are that they are generally dry, unless doused with a lot of dressing. This salad was quite the opposite. It was had the right amount of dressing was on point. The Asiago steak sandwich wasn't as memorable as the salad. It wasn't bad; it just wasn't easy flavorful as I expected. The Green Passion Smoothie hit the spot. I don't know if the ingredients are fresh, but it tasted fresh. Especially the mango in the smoothie tasted was the perfect combo to go with the greens. The chips were as expected. I enjoyed the meal! The highlights were the smoothie and the salad!! Btw, you can charge your cell phone, tablet, or computer while you eat. There are plenty of available outlets.
True to form, Panera takes care of its patrons. I mentioned my soup was not filled to the brim, as I expected it to be for dining in, and immediately, without any kind of comment or fuss, they went to serve me another small cup that was filled to a satisfactory level. The staff were attentive and inquired to all if there was anything they could do to help their experience to be better.(Even those individuals who looked like they didnt necessarily belong there anymore...staff was courteous, and professional) The points reward program has its benefits. And I love how it works nationally. I think the program could go further in rewarding those customers who visit and are not from the area or even the region. But, wherever it is, I've always found the food to be, across the board, the same style and quality. Delicious!
Update one year later: this place has really deteriorated. It seems that they have exclusively started serving everything in take away packaging, even if you choose dine in. The place doesn't seem as clean anymore and the interior is tired. There are also many dubious ones who just hang around both on the outside and inside. Also got several errors with my order. First visit, one year ago: Very few seats. We got a seat, but we was lucky I guess. The food tasted good and service were good. They have a good number of self-order kiosks, which I prefer. Got everything served in to-go which generates a lot of extra rubbish.

Found this place by accident when I realized the place I was thinking of going was a bit too fancy for me, and I was so impressed by their little layout! They have such a cute, quaint little place! Very homely. Their pastries were all lined out and they looked gorgeous! I felt like they were very affordable - maybe too much so - for such beautiful pastries. I got a bear claw and a pizza. As I write this, I'm eating my pizza and marveling at how good it is. Bread is not soggy, toppings are laid on thick... I think they do something to their sauce because it's a little sweeter than I've had before but sooo good! Also they were so sweet and kind even when I felt like I was fumbling around.
Food is great, but process to get the food could be improved. The process involves selecting your meal via a tablet. The order is then processed. My order showed "in process", then moved to "ready", then disappeared. I did not get my meal for several more minutes. I then realized that I did not see a receipt, and had no 'proof' of my purchase. Luckily they "found" my order. Just a small blip in the process. When eating my order we discovered a more disturbing issue. There was a small piece of paper between the turkey slices. After biting into this, I no longer had the appetite to continue. Please see attached photos for more on that.
The registers say "closed" so that you must order from video screens. Then your order is placed on a shelf. It felt cold and impersonal. This location is tiny with few tables. There's a high, long table along a window but the chairs are high and narrow like in a bar and didn't seem comfortable. Food was ok. When done eating I saw that a customer was allowed to order with a real person at the register. I couldn't tell why they were able to when we couldn't. It takes so long to order because you have to go through multiple screens to find what food items you want, even though they use categories as headings.
The customer service at this location is really bad. We ordered our food, sat down, and a manager scolded us for sitting down 30 minutes before the restaurant was closing. There was no indication that the dining room was closed, and we had not placed our order to go. It would have taken maybe 10 minutes to eat our sandwiches. I couldn’t believe how unbelievably rude the lady was. The food itself was good and fresh. The coffee was hot and fresh. I found the lobby to be clean, especially for being right next to Metro Center. If you can work on basic customer service, this could be a very nice spot.
So, this was my first experience with this location and it was for a small, same-day catering order and that was a process. The young lady that answered seemed so confused by what she could or couldn't do, then she put me on hold after every question. Once she finally got my order together and it was delivered, the food was a MESS! The sandwiches looked like a child had made them and at $100+ for 8 sandwiches and sides, I expect my food, at minimum, to be presentable. It was gross. We will not ever order from here for corporate lunches. Quite disappointed.
Keto-friendly. Yes. Even though it's a bakery, there are plenty of non-bread options. They have great salads and soups, with an option of customizing your ingredients. Excellent selection, very convenient ordering system, good quality food. The only reason I give one star to this particular location is because it's not a very good place to sit down. If you want to order take-out, that's fine. Otherwise, they have very few seats. With the amount of space they have, seems like it could be organized in a more efficient manner, to fit more seats.
It's decent 4 what it was worth or 4 all I went 4 pretty much. Ain't nothin 2 write home 2 mama about! How da young lady which was workin da front counter went in da restroom & sprayed yes I know after a bowel movements sum r a lil funky but she went in directly behind but failed 2 do da same thing in da 2nd restroom they have & yup it made me feel sum kind of way Like how rude & mind u she was standin rite outside da door when I came out so yeah I felt like she did it on purpose. Sorry not sorry but I've gotta live in #MyTruth
This place was amazing! The manager on duty Saturday August 17, 2019 at 7 pm was sooooo nice! Totally went out of his way for us. We walked over from the Marriott Marquis Washington, DC. It wasn’t that long of a walk. Kinda humid and hot though. One of the things I took notice of, was they had plastic cups and a water machine. Some people walking along came in to cool off a bit and have a cup of free cold water. So nice Panera does this. Our salads were the summer ones. So tasty and hit the spot! Thank you so much!
Stopped in for a late lunch (3:30p) and was very disappointed. I love Panera, but IT really does depend on the area. My sandwich (Toasted Frontega Chicken) was horrible. The bread was soggy and it looked as if they had thrown it together. I guess the end of the day, that is what I get. Couldn't even enjoy it as it was falling apart from being sloppily made. And to think I walked blocks instead of DoorDash for this. Won't be back.

They got our order wrong the first time, forgetting two items. We ordered a hot chocolate and a latte (besides our food), the latte tasted like it had absolutely no coffee in it, and the “hot chocolate” they gave us was literally a cup of warm milk, pictured below. Should’ve read the reviews before we came here, no wonder they’re so badly rated. Their prices here are also ridiculous compared to some locations.

This was the worst tasting sandwich I've ever had from Panera Bread. The bread wasn't fresh and neither were the other ingredients. It made the entire sandwich taste different. The frozen strawberry lemonade was also awful. It tasted like what strawberry lemonade tastes like when you add half a cup of water to it. I'm never coming to this location again. I usually go to the Panera Bread on Georgia Ave in Silver Spring. The food is always fresh and tasty there.
It is a big chain, so nothing new! The food is as expected from any Panera, if this one would actually serve you what you order! They have a security system for the bathroom doors, you have to get a code to gain access! Big city, I understand, they said they do this to keep the homeless from non stop using their restrooms. However, maybe they should ask them to leave the dining area and quit asking all their customers for money! Majorly disappointing!
This location works fast. Everytime I place an order its ready within 10 minutes. It's never crowded and there's plenty of room to sit and relax. The outside of this location occasionally has homeless people dwelling nearby/across the street but never inside which seems rare these days! They have sometimes ran out of a specific item but they're quick to give a refund or replace the item happily. That being said- never a bad day at Panera Bread!
I continue to be disappointed in Panera. I used to love it but since the pandemic, almost every location I go to is disappointing. I keep trying them because I have the free daily coffee and hoping I’ll find one somewhere that makes my trip worth it. Unfortunately this location was no different - one counter worker and multiple people waiting, coffee at the self-serve was lukewarm, and all of the cream containers were empty. Ugh…
This Panera is amazing! I had a wonderful experience: I ordered Rapid Pickup on their website, and when I arrived I thought they would be closed, because it was passed their closing time, then they gave us our food, did a wonderful job keeping it warm, and best of all, a worker gave us a bunch of free pastries for us! The workers are very nice, and professional! I totally recommend this Panera! Great job Panera! :)
I never leave reviews but Josh in catering literally saved my life/job. I placed an online catering order to pick up for my job and accidentally put the wrong day. He put together the same order for me in a short time and got it together for me to pick up the same day. Thank you!!

I was having dinner tonight at this location while I was enjoying my dinner the restaurant experienced a full-on Karen attack. The woman that came in with her young child continued to harass the server, I believe her name is Wendy. Wendy handle the situation extremely well. I commend this high volume restaurant for its amazing employees

Amazing Cafe! I ordered a breakfast sandwich and a caramel latte, both were very good. Coffee especially. The atmosphere of that place is hard to explain, it just feels like home. Their system let's you order your food without talking to the staff, but even with this system the staff is trying their best to help you. I would recommend adding different languages so it's easier for tourists to order.
I visit this location for dinner I just want to say the staff and the management all are professional great service I will definitely be coming back, there was a special on the app that this location could not honor due to they ran out of the item the manager accommodated me with no problem with another choice great customer service

This place was an absolute dump. Homeless people walking around, people, taking up tables and chairs to vape and charge their phones not buying any food. Everything was dirty, and they were extremely slow. Never again.

The food was serviced quickly and fresh. The young lady at the register was very pleasant and polite. She appeared to be the only staff out front, and she was very helpful, willing to help everyone with a beautiful smile. We were there 2/20/23 around 8:15p. Thanks for your care and service.

I love broccoli and cheddar cheese soup it’s delicious and recently I tried their sandwich and I liked the turkey sandwich but I added cheese as extra topping it wasn’t included also all the smoothies are AMAZING like really amazing I love the green one and strawberry and banana smoothie so good... I would really recommend what I tried
Big shout out and thank you to this Panera for fixing our order! We ordered through Doordash and part of our order was missing when it was delivered. I called the store and the manager helped redeliver our missing order and included some treats with it. Very much appreciate the customer service and delicious food we experienced.
I guess this is a "city" Panera? Not much seating (just a few tables that would seat 4-5), and our order for 5 people arrived in spurts over about 15 minutes. Food was good, though, and the staff was friendly. The two bathrooms require a code to enter, I presume to limit their use to customers only.
Got our order to go. Thank you so much! Pleasant employees and helpful at kiosks. Was pleasantly surprised by portions and precise order in spite of being extremely busy during lunch hours. We ate our lunch within walking distance in view of eclipse and had amazing meal. Thank you again.
Typically good experience but today I was completely surprised by the food not being good-at all! Green goddess with old and hard avocado.

I’m staying near this Panera and been there 3 times. Their new Baja Chicken Bowl is great! The order process inside is easy with the new kiosks. They always got my order perfect and the employees are always super nice saying ‘hello’ each time I walk in the door.
Today's visit was so pleasant. The quality of my drink was amazing and the service just so pleasant. It's been a long time that i walked into a coffee shop halfway through the sunset on a cloudy rainy late afternoon. Sigh* so nostalgic. Thank you for that.
Always good healthy food, quick service, well prepared food.

Ordered a broccoli cheddar soup and found paper in it. A few weeks ago, I ordered the same soup and there was chicken in it. The staff really should pay more attention.

Super clean Panera Bread with a well maintained service and table area. The staff was attentive and friendly with warm bread aroma filling the room. This location is great and right besides the Metro Center station. WiFi works well and is fast.
I love Panera so much. This branch is fine. It’s clean and the staff are friendly. I always always get a Mango Smoothie which I love, except now Panera use the paper straws, it doesn’t taste quite the same. But good service at this location.
Warm sandwiches and good coffee.

Great food (like any other Panera). They have tablets that you can use to order with which are nice because they speed the process up. There isn't much seating - it's a smaller cafe, and most of the tables only have room for 2 people.
This place has excellent customer service. The manager was kind enough to honor my birthday treat even if it was a day expired. Additionally, the food was prepared very quickly with attention to detail. Panera always hits the spot.
The food was great, staff not that friendly. Some made me feel uncomfortable

Ordered chicken frontega sandwich that was prepared without chicken. I don’t know how you forget to put chicken in a chicken sandwich. I called to have it addressed and there was no response. Extremely frustrating.
Was great and the guy gave me my food was great. His name is foster. We both come from the same country. We're both nigerian. He's half Nigerian half Japanese. He was really nice. Great customer service
Was getting busy with a lot of pickup orders because of a dance convention down the street. Staff was awesome in moving through the orders. More importantly, moving through the orders accurately!!
Friendliest and best customer service of any Panera in any state! Love their breakfast baguette with avocados.

Did rapid pick up and everything was perfect! Food was delicious and everything was packed so nicely. Enough utensils and napkins. Thanks for great service! Had a great picnic at the mall.
I was assaulted outside and then bugged inside for free jewelry. I make jewelry. Definitely not coming back. I canceled my membership

only problem is the portions. either it's not enough for one person, or too much for one but not enough for two. their flatbread pizza was good though, highly recommend.
Food was good but the service was slow. Management was aware of the situation and did what they could to make amends before anyone had a chance to really complain.
They close 9 pm, but they didn't let us sit it was 8 pm, i have been going panera almost everyday. I am not going anymore. !! Thank you making my day worst !!!
