There are three parts to my experience. 1) Online Ordering: it went easy, and as expected. I have used their website many times, and usually have them deliver. This time I thought I would do carryout since I was going to be out and about. 2) Food quality: The pizza at Papa John's is always the same. Which is good because they're consistent. The pizza has never wavered from being cooked perfectly, and having ordered over a dozen times over the last year with different orders almost every time, I can't help but be very pleased with the food quality. 3) Customer service: Awful. The delivery people are always great because they know what customer service is, but the one time I went there in person it felt like I was talking to a deaf mute. First off, I walk in, and no one turns around to greet me, and I stand there for a whole minute before he finally notices me. One employee. Taking his time cutting breadsticks. Seriously. I told him my name and said I was there to pick up a pizza. "Sir, may I have your name?" he asks. Wait, I just said it like 15 seconds ago. Okay, "My name is Layton," I reply. Okay, he looks it up, and says, "I don't know if I can do this transaction." Well then why are you ringing me up at the register, he takes a step back as if to go to the back office to ask permission, then says "Oh I'll just do it." and proceeds to finalize my transaction. He hands me my pizza, and turns around and walks away and half mutters "haveagoodday." Well, there I am with my pizza, "Could I get some plates and napkins?" I ask, he looks at me for a second like I just asked him for a back rub, then thinks hmm, where could those be and proceeds to look around for plates. He finds the plates, hands a few to me, and walks away again. I ended up just pulling a bunch of napkins out of the dispenser on the counter. It felt like something out of those TV shows where the owner hires help to see how the employees act and serve food. It was an awful experience to go to their storefront. I did not like it. Again, the pizza itself is fine, which is why I gave 4 stars because this is a pizza place, after all. But they're missing that 5th star because customer service is significant to me.

EDIT: Docked 1 star. The pizza is still absolutely excellent recently, and the guy who handed me the pizza (perhaps, ironically, the manager) was very prompt and nice. They reliably make my pizza quickly every time. I really don't have complaints at all except for a call I made when I got home: The manager got on the defensive & basically rolled his eyes at me through the phone when I called about a dipping sauce that had opened and spilled all over my pizza by the time I got it home. I wasn't explicitly accusatory in my call but just described what it looked like: that somebody had opened it (I was presuming on accident, but my anxiety had me wondering If I'd done something to annoy them, so I wasn't sure). I had no idea the heating rack was hot enough that sauces could burst/pop open on them. Now I do. I wish I had been told this by somebody who was more forgiving. Not even an ounce of apology; just pure annoyance and defensiveness. An "aw yeah sorry that happens sometimes" would've been perfect. He just scoffed at me while telling me "I assure you, no one's going around opening sauces." As if fast food employees tampering with food is the most asinine concept ever. I was pretty taken aback by him putting words in my mouth then getting so defensive & condescending over it. If I'm to give him the benefit of the doubt, I must've come across as rude myself for him to act this way. Or maybe he gets annoying calls like this often. Me: "Oh, okay. I just didn't know." Him: *Aggravated silence* "..........Bye." EDIT 2: A second garlic cup, that spent 0 time on the heating rack, was already open when I grabbed it. Maybe there was a manufacturing error that made the seals weaker --------- Whoever made my pizza tonight, incredible job. Sometimes the bbq sauce is burnt/old and there's too much inedible chewy fat in the bacon, but tonight it was delicious!!!! Everyone here is always so nice. I just pick up my pre-ordered pizza at the desk & haven't had issues so far. Only quirk is the app seems to tell you the pizza is ready for pickup a couple minutes before it actually is

First the order was given to the wrong person we were notified after already waiting an hour. When the order finally arrived we were missing multiples sauces and the Shaq pizza was not as described, I called the store to let them know and ask if there was any way we could get a credit or discount for our next order. They told me they would credit the sauces and could possibly give me a discount on my next order. In frustration I said thank you very much I would appreciate that and hung up. I should have looked through the whole order before I called. When I called again I expressed my understanding for them trying to rush the order back out to us, but in doing this the quality of the food was poor. I was then asked if I could recite the ingredients of the buffalo chicken papadia and practically berated when I didn’t know the base of that particular recipe. Then the manager told me it was a new cook and again, I was sympathetic, but I said it was not my job to check the new hires preparation of my order and all I was asking for was a refund on the wrong item, nothing else! The manager then told me he would give me a credit after giving me the run around and never once saying he was sorry if, never expressing any sympathy towards me, the customer who can’t enjoy my food because I didn’t get the right order and it’s now been 2 hours since I placed my order. After that call we received another call saying I would not receive a discount after the verbal abuse. I know all the calls are recorded and though I was frustrated, I kept my composure and didn’t not speak to them rudely. It wasn’t until the MANAGER spoke to me the way he did about me not knowing the ingredients, even though I am not his employee! Even still I did not yell and say mean things.

The general manager Leslie and all of the other on-site employees think that they are above taking orders over the phone. Their call center is so busy that the store had to field the call and Leslie “the store manager” hung up on my father and my wife over 2 separate calls to try to place an order. This level of disrespect and entitlement makes me question the quality of the products and services that we are being provided. unfortunately I loved this company before now and my friends and family had to witness this call. The disrespect and disregard that we were given is appalling. I now have to assume that as a whole papa johns is no longer a safe or reliable option for me, my family, and my friends. I loved this place and this pizza, but now I am in serious doubt as to whether or not I can ever trust this company again. If you can’t provide decent service, then how can you provide a decent product that people can trust? It pains me to say this but when people don’t care about us or our safety, then we shouldn’t care about them or the products they provide. Instead of providing a basic service for me and my family, the GM decided that she would complain to her boss about us instead (as she told us loudly and proudly over the phone) when we simply were trying to place an order. This would have been providing us with a common and basic service that is expected across the board when ordering pizza especially, but also food in general.

As a die hard Papa John's fan, it pained me to write this review, but this location is simply terrible. I would rather drive to the one on 700 E and 3300 S despite the inconvenience to avoid patronizing this location. First of all the crust was terribly inconsistent and thin so that in some parts it was dry like a cracker. Second, the cheese was incredibly sparse. I had one or two slices that were essentially cheese-less. And finally, they left off toppings that I paid for. I called to see if I could at least be refunded for the toppings I paid extra for but did not receive, and the girl who answered claimed to have made the pizzas herself and insisted she did not make a mistake. Since I was looking right at the pizza and could see there were no olives on it, it was frustrating to feel like I had to argue about it. For heavens sake, just apologize and refund a couple bucks. Disappointing as I run an office downtown and would have loved to provide them with frequent and regular large orders but due to disappointed employees who did not get what they ordered, coupled with the completely indignant and remorseless response we got from calling, we will not be purchasing from here again.

I am in charge of ordering lunch for my office multiple times a week. When we get pizza, we order from here. I use the online ordering which is easy because it saves my order and I can easily customize it. The pizza is average. It's what you would expect ordering from Papa Johns. We order 6 pizzas, 3 cheese bread, and 100 wings. There has been no issue with the quality, temperature, etc when the pizza arrives. Sometimes the delivery people don't read the instructions that I leave for them when ordering but that's okay. Usually a quick phone call from them clears up the confusion. Some delivery drivers are great about bringing along condiments, or plates and napkins, sometimes they forget. Which is okay because our office is stocked for those items. But for such a large order at lunch time, to be ordered, prepared, cooked, and delivered it takes no longer than 35 mins max to get it to us. This is our go to place for pizza in our office. Quick, reliable, and average pizza but exactly what you would expect from Papa Johns.

Horrible experience, first time at this pizza spot. I ordered for pick up at 915. Got there and no one even said hello or acknowledged me for 10 minutes. I seen pizza boxes sitting on counter left open. The guy who made the pizza said he made it at 845.. I had to ask if I could have my pizza because they still didn't get the order even after I asked and my name for the order. They said yea it's here. Been done for a while... they grabbed the boxes left on counter open and gave them to me. I said they were dry and cold.. they said well they been there a while and that was it. I was so bugged. Then I got home to find out the pizza bottom was missing on 2 of the slices. They just moved the topping around to cover it. In total I paid 30 bucks for cold hard ripped pizza.. thanks for the experience.

So I like Papa John's Pizza, but this location was a pain. I waited an hour and a half when I was quoted a 50-60 minute wait. When I call, not only did they have my phone number COMPLETELY wrong, but also my address. I live in an apartment complex that frequently patrons this Papa John's to deliver pizzas. So I get told they will make me a new pizza and deliver it to me for free. When the pizza gets here, it's old. They tried to heat up the old pizza and present it as new. My friend and I were so hungry by then we couldn't care that much, but it still bothers me! Don't order from this Papa John's if you're in the SLC area. Order from one of the other locations. I've never had a problem until I ordered from this one.

I ordered a pizza yesterday to my job and first the guy that answered the phone didn't listen to anything I was saying so I had to repeat myself multiple times. Then when the delivery guy came he was being rude telling me that I needed to tell them I was at the front desk so he didn't have to call my phone (which I did tell the guy on the phone if he would have listened) After that I gave him cash and he didn't give me change he took off with my money. I would have gave him a tip but I would like to do that on my own and not him taking off with my money. I am super disappointed and will not order from this location ever again .

After having a very rough day and finally getting to a hotel, this papa johns was the first place I called.. and I’m so glad I did, their customer service is amazing, Austin worked so well with me on the phone, and Derek got the pizza to me just in time and was very polite even if my hotel had to have security lead him to my room, they still put in all the effort and did such an amazing job for me!! It might just be a pizza joint but for someone who has been though hell the last few days, a little sweetness and great customer service can put a smile on anyone’s face!!! Suggest this place 150% !!!

Great customer service. I experienced a hick up that can arise in any course of business (no one is perfect). The pizza came smashed to one side of the box. I order from here often and can say this has never happened. I called to let them know of the state of the pizza and was immediately informed that one would be recreated and sent out. They were very professional in handling the call. Within a timely manner the new pizza was delivered and the driver apologized for any inconvenience. While it was only a small issue in the realm of pizza delivery this location has definitely won my loyalty.

I ordered this pizza for my husband since it was our anniversary. On the order I requested a heart shape pizza, I even called as well since it was our anniversary AND nothing he got a cold regular pizza to his workplace and totally killed our anniversary since this was his present since he loves pizza. Next time I'm just ordering from Pizza hut last time I made this request they followed through. I even called back and the girl gave me attitude and could care less about the error they made on my order. I will also go to corporate regarding this.

I live in Michigan and there are no papa johns where I live. I found this location in phone book in Salt Lake and was impressed with how easy it was to order. John, the person that I spoke with on the phone was patient and polite as I have never had pappa johns before. He said it would be an hour to deliver and the pizza was at my hotel room in 45 min. Delivery person was nice and pleasant. Pizza was good. My 1st experience with this company was absolutely fantastic. I'm wondering why someone hasn't tried to open up a pappa johns where I live.

Zero zero zero tolerance for lazy people this store has transferred my order plenty of times and they forget half the things I order. when I called in they had no explanation to why my order was transferred from salt lake to West Jordan. The driver called to tell me that he was in West Jordan I don’t even have a West Jordan address on my account. Then they told me they can’t do anything for me besides Cancelling it and ordering a new one I don’t want another order from papa johns from now on this is horrible management on their end.

Got carry out from this location on July 20th at 9:00 PM and absolutely no one in the store was wearing masks, despite the mask order in Salt Lake county! I felt unsafe inside waiting for my order, and the past 2 times I’ve been in the store, I’ve watched the chick preparing orders handling dough and toppings with her bare hands and no gloves! I will absolutely not be back. I almost asked for my money back and left because I don’t feel good eating food from here.

Respect to the girl who worked the 24th by herself. She is probably the best asset y’all have when it comes down to this pizza place. I ordered around 10+ pizzas plus she had 3 customers ahead of me with 10+ more pizzas as well. And she did all of it by herself. Girl deserves a huge raise cause a simple “good job” is not even close to enough. Really hope she knows she is awesome at what she does and she deserves everything positive coming to her in the future.

The delivery guy came to our neighborhood, then left and parked at a grocery store. I called the store to see what was happening. They did not know. He showed up with cold pizza almost 1 hour later. He was surprised that I could track his delivery with their app. No apologies. God only knows what he did with that pizza in the parking lot. We threw it in the trash. We will never order pizza from them again. We should be supporting local restaurants anyhow.

The lady manager at this Papa John's is rude! I ordered a pizza for my daughters birthday (Wed May 27th) and the order was the wrong the pizza and cheesesticks were underdone! I called the store and was transferred to the manager; when I told her my problem, she hung up on me! I called again and asked if they would fix the order, she hung up again with No apologies, only a condescending tone of voice, as if it was my fault. Do NOT order from here!!!!

Got a 12 inch mushroom pizza for 18.49. Told them to put 3x the mushrooms. I got 1x the amount... They charged me for it, then gave a discount... I got 4 dollars off, then they put a 4 dollar tip to it..... Disappointed. This is the 3rd pizza to get to me messed up. The manager told me they know how to measure. I'm done with Papa Johns. I will make sure none of my friends or family go here again. Remember.... Lose one customer, lose 10...

Ordered pizza for the office. Gave the phone number to call when they got here and they took down the wrong number. Had to call again. Lady who answered was rude. It was supposed to be here at 10:15. Its 10:49 and still waiting. Delayed our whole office from doing our job. Still paid full price and tipped. Then driver got in an accident and we had to get the pizza!!! Not satisfied.

Very disappointing. I'm staying in the Red Lion hotel and wanted to have them deliver here. They said they would but that I needed to tip cash for the driver even though I'm using a credit card. I don't carry cash on business trips. My Papa John's at home allows you to tip on the credit card slip. They said they don't allow this. Really? So much for getting my business.

Though the food is good the employees are not great. You could walk in and stand there for 15 mins and no employee will greet you or even acknowledge you. Then when you do order (if you happen to get there attention) they are extremely slow. They could have like 5 orders on screen and tell you it will be an hour late. Not a place I would recommend to anyone.

I feel like I could have done better with a frozen pizza. To me this wasn't Papa John's Pizza the crust had no flavor and was very chewy. They shoved the sauce right in the middle of the pizza which was stupid it could have been put it in another box Pizza could have been warmer and toppings could have been a little less chancy. In the five minutes that I was there, I heard an F bomb dropped. I saw the woman working the front throw a box at the guy in the kitchen and when I asked for peppers and parmesian and I was told “I don’t care“. Worst ever. Love Papa John's but placed an order that was to be 45 minutes, a hour and 35 minutes later I called and cancelled. I thought 45 minutes was too long, let alone 1:35...thanks for not even calling or alerting me that it would take longer...wish I could give zero stars.

I live 7 blocks away and somehow it took an over hour and the pizza was stone cold. Skimped on the toppings and too much sauce. Don't waste your time. I will definitely call a local place (The Pie, Sicilian) for a pizza ten times better with less of wait next time!

The food was nice. Because of work I ordered it to be delivered. When I received the pizza it was ok. There was little to no cheese on the pizza. the sauce was super light too when I ordered extra sauce. The driver looked nice but treated me like crap.

They seem to be accommodating with my order especially when children change their minds. However, we all just got sick on their pizza and it was only pepperoni and cheese. That is awful! Now I have to change unless they correct the issue!

Pizza is as to be expected, but note that the lobby closes at some point before delivery (many people are saying around 9:30 PM). Anyone wanting pizza after that time who does not live where they deliver to will be unable to get pizza.

Nothing out of the ordinary for a Papa Johns. Food is reasonable if you have coupons, otherwise there are places nearby that offer better tasting pizza for much less.
