I can't say enough about how wonderful Charlie & Dee are not just as mechanics but as people. They have always done absolutely great work on my car and been incredibly communicative about what is going on, what has to be done, what it means for the car and what it entails. I have an old beater Subaru that has proven to be a piece of work and they have gone above and beyond to help me keep it going in a way that is realistic and feasible for me in light of my own financial situation, but also while being really honest about what they can and can't do. Sadly, my car has met its end but I so, so, so appreciate that they were honest about what it would entail to fix it and that it just really isn't worth it, rather than trying to string me along through a bunch of expensive repairs. They are so incredibly nice and Charlie is really wonderful about staying on the phone with you to really talk you through what's going on. As a woman, I've almost ALWAYS dreaded this kind of car stuff because you're so frequently met with antiquated condescension, but I've never once felt that from either Charlie or Dee. I've also recommended a few friends to them and afterwards they have always texted me to say something like, "OMG the mechanic you recommended is amazing and didn't try to make me feel uncomfortable/like an idiot/etc." They're also just straight nice to talk to - I mean, what mechanic asks you how you're doing and then asks follow up questions about your job interview that you had which is why you were too busy to come pick up your car the day you said you would? TOTAL GEMS, these guys. So happy to have found them and a little sad to not have a car to give them business, but hoping this review makes up for it!

Was recommended by a friend and was a bit apprehensive since I have an old car that has unique aspects to it (certain indicator lights always remaining on despite being cleared of related problems) that only my local shop back in Westchester was familiar with. That said, I had severe brake issues that needed to be addressed ASAP as I could no longer safely drive the car. Brought it in and Charlie said he would take a look at it and come back with an answer within a couple days. This was great as we ideally needed a fix by the weekend. Turned out both the front brake pads and related setup needed complete replacing and the right one was in dire shape and had been worn completely down and was scraping against the disc. Charlie fixed this all for what I thought was a reasonable price and upon pickup, thoroughly explained the situation in layman’s terms so I would understand the issue and what likely caused it. He even showed me the brakes he had to replace so I could visibly see the damage and understand exactly what was fixed. Nice to have someone willing to go that extra mile to help you understand something outside of your expertise and to understand what went into the servicing and repair. So happy to have a more local, trustworthy spot. Thank you! (Note: these are pictures of the brakes that were replaced to see how bad the damage was.)

I'll add my review to the chorus of other positive reviews. I recently purchased a car (Subaru Outback 2014) in New Jersey. The dealer's mechanic did not do a good job of installing one of the new tires and it almost fell off the car when I was on the highway. A day later, I drop the car off with Dee and instantly felt better, he talked me through the work he was going to do and gave me an accurate estimate. His team re-installed all 4 tires and replaced the bent lugs on the problem tire. They also performed travel/safety checks to double-check every piece of the car the other mechanic touched. They are swamped right now with everyone buying cars, but they were able to get me back on the road and feeling more secure about driving the car. I wish I had just had Dee and his team do ALL of the original work instead of that other mechanic shop, but I'll definitely be coming back with any additional problems (I hope not too many!), regular maintenance, etc. Thank you Dee and team! I'm glad I was able to wheel my car over to your shop and hope that you have the bandwidth for all of the new BK drivers!

These Guys Love a Challenge! A few months ago, I mistakenly overloaded the 5-disc cd player in my Subaru and it jammed up beyond anything I could ever hope to fix. Believe me, I tried. All I read on the internet was that is was impossible or unbelievably expensive to fix and or replace and that my cd's were likely irretrievable. With little hope left, I took it to Parkside where I have been going happily and getting great service for many years. I figured if anyone could fix it, they could. Darwin took apart the dash and took out the cd player and found a tiny little part that had broken when I overloaded it. He was actually able to find this tiny part to replace it and before you know it, I had my cd player back. I really believe any other shop would have tried to sell me a new unit. It may have seemed simple to him, but to me, it was nothing short of brilliant! They took the time and went "above and beyond"… which is always how I would describe the way Charlie and the team at Parkside operates. Thank you!

These guys really are great...sometimes you read reviews that don't match your experience, but they definitely lived up to expectation. I took my 03' Jetta to them for an inspection, and air conditioner repair. On top of that, another mechanic (official VW service mechanic) had told us the car needed a new Catalytic Convertor and that it would fail inspection without it. We had a check engine light on due to that issue. The guys at Parkside took a look, and told me that all the car needed was a good oil change...which I was skeptical about but agreed to. It passed inspection and we have not seen that check engine light since. I will never go back to that official VW shop again, knowing they misdiagnosed the Cat. Parkside were honest with everything, and upfront about the costs. They are definitely my go to in Brooklyn.

In the times we live in, knowing facts and truths seems difficult to get or reliable. My interactions with Parkside service center started after a neighbor told me about D, the neighbor has had a relationship with them for over 40 years now. I believe I can stay engaged with Parkside service center for a long long time as well. There are many repair shops in any given area.What differentiates one from the other isn't pricing of services, but the moral character and integrity of the establishment. In this day and age those things are even more important. I will keep recommending D & company and Parkside Service center as they are genuinely interested in doing the right thing always PERIOD.

I came to Parkside after reading all the good Yelp reviews for routine maintenance. They were helpful , knowledgeable and friendly. I'm moved to write this review now because just earlier today there was a misunderstanding between me and Charlie regarding the cost of some service that was being performed on my car's a/c. Prepared as I was to pay the full amount, Charlie insisted on assuming the portion of the cost around which the misunderstanding had developed. Just further proof to me of his (and the whole shop's) commitment to good service and good customer relations. I will definitely keep coming back and will recommend with enthusiasm .

My Mom says it's her job to worry about me, but when I moved to California, I worried that she would be taken advantage of by services such as auto mechanics. Because of Parkside Service Center, she has one less thing to worry about. Although Parkside is very professional, they treat my Mom like family. Parkside Service Center is a top notch auto shop where you will get great auto service at an honest price. I brought my car into Parkside for a flat tire and a rattling beneath my car. Initially they told me that a near $2k fix would be required to get rid of the rattling, but after ordering a replacement part and taking another look, they realized that the fix was much simpler than anticipated. I could have had no idea and would have easily paid for the more expensive procedure at that point. Luckily, that's not how Parkside does business. Definitely come here if you're looking for someone you can trust.

I love Charlie and the team at Parkside! We’ve been bringing our Audi here for almost 3 years now and they’ve been really helpful, informative, fast and reliable. I even pulled the codes on my vehicle and Charlie was totally open to discussing the work I was curious about and was super helpful. Just goes to show they are a super friendly shop and want to work with you to get you the service you need. I’ll bring my car here every time. I had a flat tire on Friday afternoon of Memorial Day weekend right before a 300 mile drive. Not fun at all. The guys at Parkside were amazing. Courteous, honest, fast. They even said they'd work late to make sure my tires were repaired so I could get on the road for my trip. I don't normally post reviews of anything, but their service warranted a review. This is a real review...I was there on May 27, 2016. If you need anything done on your car, go here. You'll be glad you did.

Best car service experience I’ve ever had. These guys are tremendous. They made getting my car inspected and oil changed super easy. They were welcoming, prompt, and communicative. They definitely went above and beyond to make sure that my car was in good shape. Their prices are reasonable and they seem to be a very community oriented business with good people. Charlie and his team are THE ABSOLUTE BEST. I will never go anywhere else and HIGHLY HIGHLY advise people to go to him. Even though I secretly don’t want to share him ;). I do not know if I would take my car anywhere else. I really have had terrific experiences with them from the simple, regular NYS Inspection, to regular servicing of my car, to a last minute battery drainage test. They take care of everything, and keep you informed throughout. They get work done in a timely fashion, and will not charge you for things you do not need. They are all such nice and honest people. I really lucked out.

Charlie is a great guy. Very knowledgeable and able to explain things and problems in details. These guys are very fair and you can rely on them! We assumed a problem and I have agreed on few thousand dollars cost but when they started opening the engine and found the way to solve the issue in simpler way, Charlie gave me a call with good news and significantly lower cost. I would definitely recommend their shop!

Very thorough, and communicative, they take the time to explain what they're seeing with your car and give you options on a repair (or tell you that they can fix something that's making a noise etc. but that you are OK should you not want to pay for the parts etc.). Won’t take my car anywhere else for servicing, inspections or mechanical issues. Used Parkside three times now and every time they’ve done the job on time, at a great rate, and not tried to sell me anything I didn’t need. Charlie - who owns and runs the place - is an honest, helpful, polite, stand up guy and his mechanics know their stuff. HIGHLY recommend.

Went for an emissions test and they were super thorough, which maybe is great for some people. I was told the windshield wipers had to get replaced, a small tail light was needed, and left with a sense that they did all they could to jack the bill up. I went to another repair shop for my most recent emissions test and was in and out in 10 minutes.

I had the pleasure of speaking with Charlie on the phone about servicing my BMW. He demonstrated great knowledge and he was was forthcoming with information. I have no question that this shop has my best interests in mind and that they are interested in building lasting relationships with their customers. Overall, I was impressed.

Charlie and his team are legit. It's the only place that I'll bring my car to. If you call ahead, they can accommodate early morning service. They are reasonably priced and deliver whats promised. And talk about being a nice bunch, they couldn't be a more solid crew. They're probably too nice.

I would post my actual thoughts about this place, but I've recommended them to too many people and they're getting super busy. I'm really happy for them and they deserve it, but it is starting to cut into the convenience I used to enjoy with appointments. Despite that, still 6/5 stars.
