A long city park, really crowded on weekends, a good place to ride your bike/skate/rollers. Along the path you can find small football fields and basketball yards and a small skating park, and they're usually being used during the day. A beach covers most of the park's length. *Avoid at nighttime* unless you know where you're headed, it has poor lighting and there usually aren't too many people around. On Sundays the outer street lanes from the Aterro do Flamengo are also closed up until a certain point, so you can walk on the 4-lane roadway. The cycling path is connected to Botafogo on one side and to Gloria's Marina on the other one.

Great place to have snacks, walk the trails, or sit along the water with your family. We felt very safe here and enjoyed delicious sugar cane juice, coconuts, and popcorn. Everything here is cheaper than other beaches. The waves were still big and the bay water is dirty and polluted so I wouldn't risk going in. There is some trash on the beach but not that bad. I'm sure it's just washing in from the bay. This was one of our favorite places in Rio if only the city could work on cleaning the bay and controlling the pollution there.

I love this place. It's lined with coconut trees in many parts which are a delight to see as you walk, skate or cycle on the designated path alongside the bay. There are an incredible amount of turtles to see in the water and perfect views of the famous Sugarloaf Mountain. You can also see across to the neighbouring city of Niterói and the famous bridge connecting them both. Great for kids and adults alike. You can buy coconuts and drink its water as you sit in the grass watching the world go by

My favorite place in Rio! It's not a beach because water is durty here. This is a huge grean area among the sea! But you can take a sun baths. With many trails for riding and walking. And this is perfect place for picnik in any day under the palms and trees! During the weekend here there are a lot of local people having party on the air, doing churrasco, dancing, ect. This is the place with amazing view to Sugar Loaf, Niteroi, airport - where you can see many planes landing or taking off.

The most quite and cute place you can find on Rio if you don't have enough money to spend. The neighborhood is very peaceful and people Kindles. The beach is amazing very calm and is ideal for drink a beer or just rest with family and friends. Also you can find good food and not so expensive..fruits are very cheap and is excepcional if you are vegetarian or vegan... This neighborhood is closer to Corcovado bus and its station... Lovely and unforgettable experience... Always recommend

The park is super fun, however a couple of warnings 1) cats more cats than I've ever seen in one place, must be 100 or so, 2) the super cool playground areas get used by homeless people so take look around (we found fecal matter in a couple of spots) before letting the kids go free. That said my son and I played here for an hour easy. It's a fun place to play.

Lovely place to take a walk on Sunday, when the express roads are closed. Go at 8 Am to rent a bike and take a ride to the airport, pick a coffee at Starbucks or The Coffee, turn around and go to Praia Vermelha. Or walk/jog along the coast and try to find a turtle near the big curve between Botafogo and Flamengo.

I love this place. I usually go on sundays when the avenues are closed for traffic and people use it for biking, skating, etc. Fantastic place to admire the native trees and flowers. During the week it is an excellent place to walk and relax. Avoid going there in the night, it could be dangerous.

  • Bruce Serrano

I came here to experience the white flower which grows on top of the palms and springs every 40-70 Years. I saw this in the local news and had to come see it for myself. The park itself was very clean and well kept. It is large enough to take a stroll or run around for a great workout.

Probably one of the best meat restaurants in Rio. The concept is simple, they feed you all sort of meet as long as you keep your little table sign on the green side. Everything is just delicious and the view incredible (probably best to go there in daylight to enjoy the view fully)

  • Prof. Cipolla

It's a great spot to spend your morning or day. You can walk just to see the sea (great view). Rent a bike and go further. Coconut water is available to buy and enjoy. Take a breath an enjoy the view. There are a restaurants to have your lunch, out of the Park.

Beautiful urban park charmingly landscaped from terrain reclaimed from the sea in the southern region of Rio de Janeiro. Great location for exercise, walks, cycling or just simply sitting on the grass or on the beach. An unforgettable world location

  • Diego Chagas

Even though you cant go for a swim here, it still a great place to relax drinking some coconut water, go for a run or even take your to dog out for a walk. Everyone is welcome to enjoy the looks this place offers and feel a little "carioca".

Another nice beach in Rio de Janeiro. In here you can spend a day without realising that time is fying. You can rent a chair for 5 RS, buy coconut water for 4/5 RS depend on the seller. Have a view of Cristo redentor. A place to be

One of the best places in Rio for jogging, running, working out, beach sports or just relaxing. It has amazing landscape and summer atmosphere. During Carnival, some of the best Blocos take place, I recommend that place.

  • Paulo Oliveira

On Sundays, pedestrians take over this beautiful space. Just like Avenida Atlântica (Copacabana) and Avenida Paulista (São Paulo). A delight to see and a great way of giving these places a new kind of life.

  • Christopher Suttenfield

Great place to exercise, or check out the scenery of the beautiful city. However, be careful because this place is commonly known for assaults, especially at night. It's best to visit during the day.

  • Bruno Breder

It should be a great place, but the social security issues and the water pollution are big challengers for the area. Besides that, it's one of the most incredibles views of Rio...
