"This place does not deserve a star at all"
"First time I gave a one star review for a restaurant"
"If you want to experience a miserable, rude, racist and under qualified manager verbally abusing customers and employees then your gonna vibe here! If your not Italian/ Albanian ( that’s what she is but some reason she tells everyone she’s Italian) then just accept that your experience is about to be rough"
"The food was great, but the service was appalling"
"Tried this for the first time"
This place does not deserve a star at all. We chose to eat in, my Mother used to dine here year ago and recommended it. We ordered Bruchetta to share as a starter. It was tasteless and dry we made comments and feedback to the young member of staff who apologised. Then our main meals arrived! My Mother ordered carbonara, I instantly knew by the look of it that it wasn’t appealing. I ordered seafood pasta. Both dishes were tasteless and far from good value for money. I honestly could have made a better dish at home. After one or two mouthfuls we both knew that we could not continue eating the dish. We complained again to the young member of staff, who was polite and apologetic. He took our meals away reassuring us that the Manager would be out soon to “sort it out” as we’d asked for a refund. To our disgust the female manager came to our table and literally dropped £27.90 on our table and returned behind the counter ! I approached the counter and said “do you mind not just dropping the refund on the table” she replied in a sarcastic manner saying “excuse me” I repeated what I’d said and asked for an explanation of exactly what she had refunded and told her I’d like a receipt. She printed a receipt and again dropped it in front of me on the counter. I told her I found her to have a bad attitude and rude. We left and enjoyed a beautiful meal at the nearby Bella Italia which never fails us. I am truly disgusted by the her behaviour!

First time I gave a one star review for a restaurant. Most restaurants at Leeds are great but this is textbook bad. I heard good news about this place and decided to give a try. Welcome by rude and uninterested staffs. A lady couldnt understand my English when I said “less cheese” but she somehow heard as “left cheese”. Started raising her voice at me (this is like 5 min after entering the restaurant and ordering). Strangely when other non-Asian customers came in, they are welcomed with smiles. I am not simply pulling out the racism card, I am literally the only Asian here and the service is polar differnce. The food is alright. Nothing amazing. I think Riva Blu is still the best Italian place at Leeds City. They treat you like you have a soul and welcomes you to dine in. This place is like: Geez, here comes another paying customer (not realising we are supporting their business when prices are going up). She even quietly charged me £1 extra from the menu price and I didnt even questioned her.
If you want to experience a miserable, rude, racist and under qualified manager verbally abusing customers and employees then your gonna vibe here! If your not Italian/ Albanian ( that’s what she is but some reason she tells everyone she’s Italian) then just accept that your experience is about to be rough. Microwaved lasagna, frozen ravioli, pre packed cakes and pretty much everything on the menu straight from sainsbury’s…. AuTHenTiC ItAliAn experience for real! When you come in you enter the mirror dimension, nothing but mirrors, I swear. Pretty sure that’s just so she can keep an eye on what her staff are doing at all times from all angles. So yeah, DONT COME HERE! save your money, times are tough and I’d suggest you invest it elsewhere. P.s: if you ignore this and go, don’t tip. The tips go straight into the managers pockets.

The food was great, but the service was appalling. I arrived at the restaurant around 11:30 for an early lunch, and ordered a plate of pasta. Rather than taking down my order immediately, the server gave me a lot of attitude, and muttered that “it was too early”. I asked her to repeat what she said, and only then did she reluctantly take down the order. Curiously, the server did not give the same kind of attitude to the pair of white customers behind me, who similarly ordered two pasta mains. This left a sour taste in my mouth - given that the restaurant was open at the time I visited, I don’t see why I should be judged for ordering food. I also don’t understand why I was treated differently than non-POC customers who were doing essentially the same thing as I was doing.

Tried this for the first time. Awful experience. Have to say I agreee with a previous review. There's definitely a noticeable difference between how they treat non-White and White customers. Very shouty. The staff also lack all basic manners and the woman at the till is just downright rude. She is either ill-bred or ignorant. Her approach may be normal in Italy, but this is England, and such behaviour does not go down well here. Basic politeness is essential. Integration is important. Sadly, the staff here have brought their uncouth behaviour with them from Italy. The portion sizes are small, and the food is overpriced. Be prepared for £1 extra to randomly be added to your bill. You'll also need to wait 30+ minutes for a simple order. Never, ever again. Mediocre food, bad service, overpriced. I'd rather fast.
The food was good, but the service was rude. I got uncomfortable experience at this restaurant, the staff treated me with a discriminative manners. She asked me to move my chair because she said I blocked the walks path and I moved in order to follow her instructions. 5 minutes later the other customers came and seated in the same position that blocked the walks path as me before, but she didn’t ask him to move. She looked so upset to me and my family, even I didn’t do anything wrong to her, I smiled and talked politely to her. I have no ideas why she acted like that, is it because We are Asian or because my wife is wearing hijabs?

Staff were very rude, unwelcoming and slow. It felt like everything was a chore. We should have left straight away but we thought we’d give the food a go. The food was absolutely diabolical. Meatballs- included 4 frozen meatballs, completely bland. Carbonara had a horrible taste to it and had a hair on it (I must say this was refunded but with zero apology or care). Tagliatelle with chicken and mushroom was absolutely disgusting. Cheesy garlic bread was average at best and expensive in comparison to much nicer restaurants/cafes. If I could give minus 1 stars I would. Zero service. Disgusting food. Avoid, avoid, avoid!

I recently had the most horrific experience at an Italian restaurant. The receptionist was incredibly rude and disrespectful to me and to my friend First of all, I wanted to ask if there was pork in the pizza she didn’t like the question, and she refused to give us Coca-Cola cups as she did to all the other customers. Then, she told us to take off our hoodie hats because there had been thieves in the past who looked like us. This is completely unacceptable behavior, and I am disgusted that we were treated in this way. The amount of attitude is crazy I just hope that people don’t visit this racist place again I mean she did this to a lot of ppl looking at the reviews She does not treat Asians and Middle Easterns like she treats other races
Literally awful service, rude staff. Ordered vegetarian lasagna, was given a beef one instead. Lasagna are pre prepped & frozen then warmed in the microwave, could clearly see this happening from where I was sat. Owner was a stuck up lady, serving staff didn’t look happy and spoke in a rude manner. £21.90 for one small lasagna and a very tiny pizza. Very Limited menu. Previous owner was a lovely lady who used to sing as you walked by, food was amazing then. Went back at 16 years disappointment, basic manners don’t even exist. Not even worth the 1 star.

I've just left without eating anything properly. I ordered the taglitelle without mushroom. They messed up my order by adding mushrooms and no chicken. Asked the waitress to change this but got another plate full of mushroom with no chicken. Told one of the waiters about this. Then I had the manager storm over to check I wasn't lying which made me very uncomfortable (but i understood why she came over). Then the third time they finally added chicken but we found a piece of bacon in the food. I do not eat bacon for religious reasons so I ended up walking out without eating anything. I'm really upset about my expirence.

Generally it’s an ok place for lunch, but I’d stick with the pizza. We wanted to go with a mixed and caprese salads alongside but they were only available from the display. The server assured us they were made in the morning, but by the afternoon the veggies seemed dried up and well… sad. Would expect them to be made fresh to order. The pizza was tasty and fulfilling. Overall it was nice but I don’t think I’ll be coming back.

Me and my boyfriend went on a date here and the food was amazing, you pay when you order which I'm not used to. It's quite small but not over crowded, you could hear what each other was saying, the food came out in about 10 minutes and was piping hot. All home cooked, 10/10 would recommend.

Really delicious food! A little bit tight if you have a pram and there are no baby changing facilities. Staff were really friendly, I'd come again. Stairs are extremely steep to get to the toilet if you are carrying a baby so I would recommend changing them before you go, I wouldn't chance the stairs as I tripped carrying my baby on the way back up (we were fine but just though I'd mention it).

Really poor experience from the manager/owner. My partner and I were entering the restaurant, we said hello and she just snapped at us, telling us to close the door in a really rude way. My partner was behind me and was just walking through the door, she was obviously going to close it behind her. We left immediately. I'm not surprised to have read many bad reviews about this lady. Treat your customers with respect, it's not hard.

I was served the wrong tea....took it back to be shown the jar the tea bag was taken from....it said Yorkshire Tea....it was clearly a herbal bag. I was told to take my seat outside.. as it... along with my cheese and ham toastie would be brought out to me. Wrong tea again and olives in my bread. I was then interupted twice by a young waitress bringing me food I hadn't ordered. Unlike me...I left disgusted by these mishaps instead of complaining. I won't be returning.
Food was very nice and the place was busy at lunchtime. A lady at the next table found a hair in her food and told the waitress. The chef/owner came over and disagreed that she could have found it in her food as he had no hair but he had cooked it. No apology offered and virtually accused her of lying even though her hair was also nothing like that found in her food. We had to leave but he was still standing at the table arguing with the customer when we left.
I would give " 0 " stars if I could. The Italian manager ignore most of this countries principles or legal requirements. On the top her behaviour is just not acceptable. She started to shout on innocent costumers and she treats the costumers like some bin bags. Shame on you and on your local. Disgusting behaviour and costumer service from the management.

This manageress is a complete racist, treating blacks and Asians differently. She is not even ashamed of her discriminatory behaviour. Please don't even think about coming here part time because she will fire you for no reason even if you haven't done anything wrong. Me and my boyfriend stopped in here for a late breakfast, I had one of the 8" pizzas and he had a panini. Both were very well priced given the quality and freshness of the food. It came to £10 each with my boyfriend getting 2 drinks as well. The mochas they do here are lovely and again very cheap for what you get. The staff were nice and attentive. Overall a great experience in a lovely place :)

Always have lovely service in this niche, authentic Italian restaurante. My mum has been going since she was a student and to this day the food is still of excellent standard. There is both upstairs, downstairs and outside eating space. They do pizza slices and sweet treats which you can take away or eat in as well as a more lengthy eating in menu. Always delicious specials as well at an amazing price for the quality of the food.
Customer service was shocking. Young girl serving at the till seemed very stressed and was swearing. Not a very pleasant atmosphere. I'd ordered a large glass of wine but was brought a small, I asked and once again swearing this time in front of our young son. This really let the place down as we did enjoy the food, but won't be visiting again.

Passed this small Italian restaurant whilst I was in Leeds City Centre, I believe they have a limited menu due to COVID. Prices were fair for the portions and service was quite fast. Pizza was stone base and my love for thick crusts was certainly fulfilled, the fries were excellent and the pasta was amateur. Overall I can say that I have tasted better but indeed have tasted worse. Taste - 3 Presentation - 3
Authentic italian street cafe / restaurant, serving great classic simple Italian food from pizzas to pasta and others items. Walked past this place endlessly. Always busy seats outside. Reasonable prices. Have to say had some of the best pasta I've tasted.

Just been back as we have been coming here for 35 years and the Manager is so rude she should not be running this place. The manager at pasta romagna didn't want us to order food and yet others were ordering really bad attitude.

Been coming here for 15+ years! New owner is a real spark, reminds me of the original owners. Loud Italian, music, loud Italian, singing, laughter.. My happy place especially being greeted with a loud CIAO BELLA!!! when arriving.. Such lovely atmosphere. i recommend the garlic bread pizza, marinara pizza and the coffee with cannolis.... Everything is good though.
Called for lunch today and thoroughly enjoyed it. We had the lunch deal, £7.50 for a drink, pasta and garlic bread. We visit Italy every year and this is authentic Italian cooking. We have been coming for years and are never disappointed. There may be other places nearby that have more stylish decor than Pasta Romagna but the joy is in the food and the warm welcome.
How to loose customers... They made us to sit down and after 10 minutes they told us to take the order by the bar ♂️.. really unprofessional staff that avoided us. They could tell us earlier to take the order by the bar....edit: We are in Franco Manca now (5 minutes away on foot) better pizza, professional staff and in 5 minutes we have been served
The food was delicious & tasty. Never been to an Italian restaurant where u have to order & pay up front at the counter though! I was even asked about parmesan on my dish & it was on when served instead of me deciding how much I would like. Not the usual friendly table service here but the food was good.

It could be much better (or maybe it was in the past). The tables did not seem to be as clean as they should be. There are no table clothes (what would be more hygienic) and furniture in need to be replaced. The service is quite friendly and helpful, but overall experience was not that good since the food was bellow average.

Stopped in for lunch. Had lasagna, which I thoroughly enjoyed. It felt a little pricey for what you got and the surroundings (£8 for the portion), however in another restaurant I'm sure it would have been more. Ultimately it was very tasty, and I'd go again. The other food on display looked nice too.
Loved the pizza and pasta! We got a table outside and it was very enjoyable with the nice weather. Food was fairly priced, in my opinion, and I liked that they were generous with the pizza toppings! Cakes looked very nice but unfortunately they had ran out of them by the time we reached dessert. More
What a fantastic lovely little authentic Italian cafe. Me and my girlfriend shared a Bolognese pizza (don't know the full name) and the staff were just so kind to us! The pizza was fantastic and we'll definitely be going back for more, it was a decent size too! Love these little places in Leeds :)

We always enjoy visiting this restaurant when we are in Leeds. We obviously miss Gildas presence which always added to the dining experience now that she has retired. The food remains authentic and the atmosphere reminds us of eating out during our last holiday in Italy.
A wonderful place to eat homemade past dishes, drink Italian coffee and enjoy one of the best tiramisu. The place dates back to the 1980s with a decor to match. Friendly staff. Truly authentic in the midst of Costas', Starbucks' and similar similar looking cafes. Try it!
Brilliant little restaurant. Fantastic, high quality food at very reasonable prices and excellent service. Normally swift but this afternoon when I was in a rush they were able to bring it to me very fast indeed. I will be visiting again and my complements to the staff.
served by the owner very rude waited over 30 mins for a pasta carbonara for it to come out as something else. but only took 2 minutes to rectify more fat than meat do not recommend will not be visiting again sold a can of pop that should only be retailed as a multi pack
Pasta Romagna: Under New Management. Pasta Romagna can be found in Leeds city centre. The new addition of an authentic Italian beer on tap makes it a nice place to go for a lunchtime slice of pizza or pasta. Not quite what it used to be and a little pricey these days.

Fabulous restaurant in Leeds, serving great, authentic Italian food. Nice, busy atmosphere with fairly quick and efficient service. It's very reasonably priced as well. Has a great selection of pastas and pizzas, with good size helpings.
Very rude (racist?) staff - Been before and the pizza is normally fine, nothing special but nice enough for under a fiver. The last time I went the pizza was undercooked and the dough was still raw, I was able to stretch it around and it
An acquired taste - bear in mind you will be served by a delightfully eccentric little old Italian woman who likes her music. She will sing discordantly along with 'It's Amoré!' and various early-mid 20th century New York/Italian style

Daytime family restaurant, so simple menu but food was very good quality. Cleanliness outstanding.
Delicious food, was very busy which is a good sign! Great value also. Very satisfied
