Excellent place to take kids and ride with them on the model trains around the park. Facilities are good, there's a canteen on site with food and drink, which is reasonably priced. The model train experience is where it's at though. It's absolutely fantastic. The entire park is fenced for safety, so your kids can safely roam around watching the trains or playing with friends, or they can line up to get on one. Wait times are very reasonable, even on busy days. The ride around the park takes 10-15 mins, depending on the route the engineer takes and it is quite lovely. They have a lot of train line features, like a tunnel and a bridge and points of interest for kids to look at, but the ride around is just peaceful and enjoyable. There are lots of trees and greenery to look at, which just makes it very nice. I would highly recommend.

This was a cheap as chips day out with my son. It only cost $8 entry and we had non stop train rides around the complex, and access to watching the quaterscale speedway cars that were on too. There was also two miniature train displays operating, one inside and one out. There was plenty of seating, some undercover, plenty of bins and two toilets. You can bring your own picnic or use the canteen. The canteen was cheap too, but only takes cash which caught me out as I only had limited cash on me. Staff were really friendly too, would definitely come again.

Really fun place to bring the family! Pay once for entry and you get unlimited rides on the miniature trains, all around the grounds, passing all sorts of characters for the kids to find along the way. There's also a nice little canteen and smaller miniatures to watch as they buzz around the track. As a bonus, on this December day, Santa showed up and said hi to all the kids, with a little lolly and toy for each, which was a nice touch.

Great customer and great volunteer, I volunteer there as much as possible and I can tell you that they will bend over backwards to help and support you if needed. The park is always getting updated and the trains are always looking there best for the public. Open days are the last Sunday of the month. Bring inclosed shoes for safety and also we have a great canteen with cheap food options hot and cold.

I really enjoyed the day at the Penfield Trains today. We celebrated my nephew's 6th birthday today and everyone was really friendly and approachable, lots of different trains to ride on and they had trains of all sizes, I would highly recommend going and they have lots of under cover space for birthday parties and BBQs, they also have lots of open green space as well.

Amazing place to take children, great for adults as well as everyone gets a ride. Also the new length of the track is brilliant for children they must feel like they are on the train for ages. Run by a bunch of lovely people who need all the support we can give them. We don't want to see a gem like this in our northern suburbs just disappear.

Hey. It's a little bit kitch, but if you have young kids and a spare afternoon It's something to keep them amused. 10 minute rides as often as you want.

Tucked in behind the old Holden factory is a gem perfect for both the model sprint car hobbiest as well as the train enthusiast. With long train rides lots of noise and lots of fun, a must for the kids as well!

Brilliant spot to bring your kids and have an afternoon looking at model trains and cars. The mini speedway was very entertaining and the rain rides were a lot of fun. Thanks to the community who runs it all!

Kids love this place, lots of open lawn area to run and train rides until you drop. BBQ facilities and cheap food and drink available. The dedicated volunteer staff who make it all happen are fantastic.

Had a party for my 6yo. All the kids (and the big kids) loved the trains and had a fantastic time. It is a great afternoon to let the kids run around and catch the trains over and over.

If you want a really good couple of hours then this is the place to go. The volunteers are super friendly and the kids both little and big really enjoyed the train rides.

Great fun for train loving kids and kids at heart. They usually have their open day on the last Sunday of the month but in the Summer they are usually open a lot more.

Nice long train rides, a good number of trains but the children's toys and other decorations along the route really detract from the experience.

We had a birthday party here, was great because there's lots of grass and the kids can ride the trains. The picnic facilities are very nice.

My daughter loved it, only down side is the seating on the trains aren't very comfortable for people with long legs on the closed carriages.
