We frequent this bistro for lunch. been doing it for many years. Sometimes by ourselves and other times with Family members and Friends. But these changes in the last week or so, has changed our minds.The special lunch with side salad was $12 a week ago. Yesterday its $13 and no side salad, called a Tradies and/or Ladies lunch. As a Tradie I was still hungry afterwards, my wife the same so we had more to eat when we got home. Steaks were cooked as required and taste was good, chips were good. Just not enough chips and steak was a small size. Small compared to 12 months ago, but it has been getting progressively smaller but there was no worries as there used to be a good size of chips plus the side salad. Gravy, tasteless and watery. Shall we return in the future, not sure. The wife has suggested we try the pub down the road. One thing she liked about the changes was the decor, negative was the entrance doors. Her suggestion was to make them electric, same with toilet door entrances. We are getting very conscious of germ transmission through door handles. Plus doors are getting harder to open as I get older and this arthritis sets in further. Also, staff have been very polite to us oldies and helpful. Sometimes Sarah would even bring our food to us. Which makes it easier for me with my mobility problems. She has a very warm disposition and when she smiles she brightens up the area, and another plus with her is she is patient with us while we decide what we want. Never rushing us or being pushy with us.

Excellent customer service, very friendly and accomodating. Food came out fast and was enjoyed by all at only $13 a plate. Very family friendly. Kids love the play area and ate for free! Their meals included chips and a drink, and its the first time they all actually sat and finished their meals! They made a big mess as they are toddlers and the staff were still so friendly and understanding. If you love your classic pub grub and want somewhere for all age groups including little fussy and noisy eaters, this is it. We will definitely return time and again. Great value and overall experience. Definitely our new local and so glad we happened upon this gem. I highly recommend.

A Very scary place to stay . Rooms are Dirty dusty and no air conditioning and you’re lucky if the ceiling fan works . Imagine that on a 36 degree day . Plus dragging your suitcase/luggage up a few flights of stairs is very daunting to boot . Lots of undesirables abound and the rooms are very bad in the security factor . It’s very harrowing having a group of inebriated methed up males trying to get in your door for 20 min at 2 am ! Stay away people . There’s a good reason they offer relatively cheap rooms ! Realistically, they shouldn’t be charging more than $25 per night and they Know it !

Book table days before.. arrived no table waiting no big deal plenty of tables available ... ordered my meal the special the steak medium to well had to send it back as there was still blood coming from it (and mine wasnt the only one) they offered to make me another so i waited, 15 min later i was told they had given my dinner to someone else by this time all other 5 people i was with had finished there dinner, i went with a group which we go out every wednesday for dinner and we will not be going back there again very disappointing

Went out for birthday drinks and dinner after one of our friends being asked to leave the security decided to tell the rest of our 10 plus guests to also leave just because.. spoke to the bar staff about the situation to which they were also incoherent about the situation. Profiling was the issue with this establishment.. if you want to have a fun night I would highly recommend going somewhere else.

My experience here was absolutely disgusting. The security guards will arch up to you even if you are a girl, stand over you, call you names and try and get bystanders to fight you for them. Do not go to this place, nothing but trouble with the Security Guards, I used to love this place... but the security Guards are just plain rude, unprofessional and will try and start physical fights with you. do not go to this place.

The Hideaway Bistro is recently refurbished and under new management Great value pub meals and plenty to keep the kids entertained Food came out quickly and they have some fantastic opening specials on Highly recommend checking it out next time you're looking for a decent pub feed

The maintenance guy turned up at 4:30AM, started bashing walls at 4:45AM. I got 3 hours sleep! Need more be said. Update: I stomp on the ground to let them know i'm up here and they bash Louder. I want my money back! 6:30AM.Update: since about 6:40AM the bashing stopped and someone is has been outside the window 'clearing' their throat since (that's a dirty person!?).

Lets be honest, no one expects this place to be five star, but its really gone down hill lately. The food is terrible, they overcharge for or don’t have the food Thats advertised, and some staff members are consistently rude, but they don’t wear name tags. Also, not their fault, but its really annoying to get an icy cocktail and not have any straws.

Rooms are basic but clean. Restaurant in the bar does good food for a decent price but they massively overcooked my steak - asked for blue, got medium. The noise from the nightclub is absolutely shocking, though. I knew it was a music venue when I booked but didn't expect it to be so loud the windows shook in their frames. Probably won't go back.

Spent mothers day here with my mum daughter & grandkids. The food & dessert was beautiful & big portions. Also got a lovely glass of champagne all for $19 pp. Kids meals were only $6 with dessert & drink excellent value. The service was great & the singer had an amazing voice. I will definitely come again next year really enjoyed it.

Went on a Friday night and they didn't have anything. No veggies, no salad and multiple things in the menu just weren't available. I get that supply chains are bad but they should have alternatives. Was hard to get a nutritious meal.. The menu was pretty boring too. Service was fine. Prices were cheap. Serving sizes were generous.

The Bistro has just been taken over by new management. Has a lovely Kids playground and other amusement machines, eg, chocolate , car racing, and other claw machines. Good menu, reasonably priced. Nice atmosphere and seating area.

This place is awesome! The most friendliest staff I've ever encountered. They really care about their customers. The food is top notch. My steak was cooked perfectly med rare. At $13 including a drink - I can't believe it. I wish I lived closer so I could come here regularly. A hidden gem indeed :)

The accommodation in one word - “Putrid.” Should be shut down. The worst place ever. The room had an unpleasant smell, no hot water, no air conditioning, cockroaches everywhere, furniture old and needing repair. The only thing good was the staff.

The ladies serving were great, but I was very disappointed with the food. The mash had big cold lumps and the sausages were over cooked. Tasted like they had been reheated in the microwave. The food came out very quickly, which explains the quality. Might need a new cook.

Nice staff but it's always best to leave at night time when their bouncers arrive.Ive never come across a decent one here,they all have a bad attitude and try to intimidate you with menacing looks.Not a good environment at night when these buffoons are patrolling

It is a lovely place to eat at. We catch up there at least once a month for our big family dinner/catch up. The play equipment is awesome for the kids. The meals are really good, two for one on Sunday nights and kids eat for free. Very family friendly.

Stayed here for an event that was on. Rooms were very tidy and clean. Staff were very friendly and helpful with any questions that I had. The food was very good and there was a nice variety of different meals.Would defiantly visit here again

Had a little baby shower event on Sunday at Penrith Hotel, great service, food was brilliant and the area was perfect - great area for kids, the play area is not only toddler friendly but also for older kids.

This would be my local if I lived here... Great value food, small kid play area, family friendly and renovated bistro. Friendly staff. No hassle parking at the back unlike the other High St places.

Absolutely awesome staff. Nothing is an issue for them. Made me feel valued and comfortable. Highly Recommend AAA,+++

Nice staff but shocking pizza .... The topping just slid off the bases which were soft and slimy .... Looked like they were pulled out of the freezer .... Worst pizza ever

Great I spilled a can leaving the bar and staff were quick to replace with a smile. Also followed up to make sure I was cleaned up. Bar girl top shelf service...5x stars

The Samoan bouncer here is really great. The place is empty at 11 pm and he decides that I look like a guy that he kicked out of there last year. What a strange fellow…

Just wanted to thank the female bar tender that conforted me a couple of months ago when I was clearly having a bad day....your kindness has not been forgotten.

Room was as you would expect in a pub, it was ok & had a TV. Food is good & there is big screens & sports TAB area. There's an inside & an outside TAB machine.

My first visit to function room,i found the staff to be helpful and friendly while they stayed discreetly in backgound. Thank you for a most enjoyable event.

Had dinner here on 21/10/2022. Good food. Place looks a bit dated and parking space bit limited at the back. But no complaints on the food

Went there with the family and grandchildren. Nice food, good variety. The grandchildren love the indoor park.
