I’m going to write this for the cashiers and show mercy to this establishment in spite of the poor customer service from the barista this morning who was angry I asked for more vanilla in my latte. I don’t think a customer should feel bad for asking for their order to be correct. I was kind about it. A place that charges this much for coffee should be willing to please their customers. I’ve gotten this drink vanilla latte with oat milk here at least 15 times and never had to ask a barista to fix my drink. She proceeded to literally dump vanilla into my coffee and told me to just “say when”. Hmmm that’s really rude. I even said “have a great day” and she didn’t reply. Who knows what people are going through ‍♀️. I probably won’t be back, but cheers to the good visits from the past. Blessings, ❤️

I’ve been trying to make my way through all of the coffee shops in DC, and steadily getting there. The design and atmosphere is are well thought out. The place is always packed with lots of people, therefore seating may be a little bit hard to find. I wouldn’t really recommend coming here for work as it’s always packed with people, and that means a noisy work environment. No onto the coffee, the prices consistent with other coffee shops.The quality of the coffee beans is top-notch, as the beans come from a local coffee roast Small Planes and their beans are great! This time here I had a pour-over which I usually order, and it was prepared with thought and love, so marks for that. Overall, if you are a coffee ‘snob’ or just someone that wants a really good coffee, definitely check this place out!

One of the best in DC! Multiple locations and all provide excellence. This location, Eastern Market Area, has a great vibe with lots of great walking and little shops and places to eat close by. Grab a cup and go for a stroll. The Baristas are always friendly, knowledgeable and never in a hurry... which is a good thing. They take time to make a good cup or latte. Using locally roasted beans by SmallPlanesDC. Americano and Latte are always on point. If you’re looking for a good Third Wave style coffee shop or just good coffee in general this is the place to go. They also have a great selection of tea.

I was looking for a place to have a coffee, sit outside, and do some work. I couldn't have found a better place. The cappuccino was delicious. So much so, that I ordered a 2nd one. I saw others eating waffles with fresh berries. Anyone in or passing through Hagerstown must stop at this awesome coffee shop.

Pro: Great coffee - top 1% for DC. Cons: (current as of 5 March 2022) They got rid of pour overs during the pandemic and never brought them back! They also have a self-imposed mask mandate (even tho CDC, DC government, US government, etc all dropped theirs). Bottom line: this is a 5 star coffee shop that is shooting themselves in the foot. Happy to update my rating when pour-overs return and they follow CDC guidance. Let me know too so I can come back to my favorite coffee shop!

Excellent afternoon tea experience at Peregrine in Eastern Market! I had an iced peach blossom tea, perfect for a summer afternoon, and it was delicious! The service was excellent, thank you Abby, and the atmosphere was cute and cozy. Will definitely be back to try more teas this summer! Highly recommend!

High quality coffee up to European standards. I'm a highly critical European coffee lover that is struggling to find good coffee in this country. This coffee was superb: excellent fruity notes at an adequate temperature in a sensible size cup. All of this was accompanied by the charming beat of Cuban Jazz. ¡Guajira, guajira! 9/10

I've only been to this place twice to order. A few times to make change and the staff never pressures me into buying anything in order to do so. The scenery is laid back and quiet. Kind of reminds you of a Starbucks. You can definitely work from home in this environment. The staff show excellent customer service and are very helpful. I ordered a ginger tea that helped my cold symptoms. I also ordered one of their already made juiced drinks. It was very good.

Great coffee and good service. The only downside was the loudmouth gaggle of self-gratifying, liberal ladies that sat down next to us and continued to whine about how hot the South is in the summer. Here's a tip...go back to San Francisco and hug a cold, wet tree. It matches your souls! But the coffee, top notch.

An AMAZING coffee shop, it has great staff and the manager has won various awards for his espresso. It is a must have if you are in the neighborhood. Tons to do around this area and ample cute shops to experience. 7th street has a nice weekend market and this is the place to get your coffee. Have been over twenty times and never once had an issue. There is limited parking, will need to park on the street, likely a bit far away

I went here with my girlfriend and now I love this place. We both had the same coffee heavily creamed and the formed a heart on it using the froth, it was nice and my girlfriend especially loved that. She was happy so I was happy. Aside from their excellent coffee, they had this huge assortment of baked goods. We just had the simple choco chip cookie but it was delicious. Will update this review when I go back another time

First time trying this coffee. I had the gateway version. Mild tasting with unique flavor and aroma. You go there for unique flavor not for the budget. Overall great place now I need to try everyone of their flavors! Mmmmm smells great

Fantastic little spot in Eastern Market. They were out of drip coffee and so they made me a pourover of locally roasted DC coffee from their recently launched roaster Small Planes. The barista (pictured - embarrassed I didn't ask for a name) was amazing. We talked about coffee (geeked out!) And then he presented me with a bright Guatamala coffee with a chocolate finish. I plan to go back. A+

Good coffee perhaps geared more towards those looking for a more pure flavor. They don't have any specialty drinks and the shop is very low key. Good friendly service.

As good as coffee gets in DC, in my opinion. Truly great care and craftsmanship. And this is not based on one visit, but based on years of having come here. My friend group knows, if there is one place I am going to get coffee, it is Peregrine.

I cannot speak for the "espresso" quality as I did not try it, but to me any specialty espresso bar in the USA that serves iced coffee over cold brew is not cutting it - especially in a city with a warm climate. Seems to be a DC wide issue anyway as few places serve proper homemade cold brewed coffee. Will return in the winter for straight espresso and reevaluate.

Mocha is great. Almond croissant is EXCEPTIONAL. The servers are always nice and stylish. Good access to outlets to plug in your computer/phone. Outside is cute. Love this place

I had a lot of paper works to be done, so I decided to go to your coffee shop to do it there. The ambiance was so peaceful and relaxing. The taste of your coffee and cakes were so tasty and satisfying. I enjoyed doing my works in your wonderful shop. It was very convenient to visit this place as well. Thumbs up!

I love coming here. It is my treat to myself, I usually get a leasurly coffee on weekends. Today I came here in a pinch and needed to take a call, and was pleasently surprised to learn they have Wifi. Service always friendly and the high quality is consistant. Just outstanding!

Great Coffee! no matter what you order.. a personal favorite for the longest time, have been going to their Eastern Market store due to proximity to the workplace, but they also have another store in Union Market, and their quality is consistently good friendly staff, overall great service! …

No doubt that this coffee shop is well-known because of its coffee and pastries are the best here. I'm so fortunate that I was able to try it and it was nice because everything here is amazing and satisfying. Also, the service is outstanding, and I like to recommend these guys for that!

I would lile to give a five star review due to the fact that the place was neat, staff was friendly, enviroment was chic. But, I do not like much Robusta grain coffee. I always prefer Arabica. Although, barista even gave me a glass of water without asking which I appreciated it

Great staff! I signed up for a barista class. Wonderful trainer! She was so patient, professional, and knowledgeable. She was able to troubleshoot my many flaws. I learned so much and will def go back for coffee!

One of the worst mochas I have had in a while. Very watered down and not good flavor. Their chocolate croissant was pretty good, but overall it was poor value.

Perfect little coffee shop for both locals and travelers. I absolutely love Counter Culture beans so that was a plus. I also enjoyed their pastries (which are not baked in-house but are local).

Coffee tasted good but service was extremely slow. Waited 25 minutes for an americano. Atmosphere wasn’t the most inviting- somewhat cluttered. Could use some freshening up of indoor spaces.

Really good espresso based drinks and friendly staff! Probably the best coffee shop in the eastern market area, though seating is a bit limited. They do have several tables outside, though.

Peregrine takes coffee seriously! Love how the staff explained to me in detail the taste and origin of the beans. Free oat milk and milk on the side bar. Will definitely come back!
