I ordered a sized M/L sweater coat that was sized incorrectly (According to the Peruvian Connection size charts, I should wear a M/L; it was too large). I mailed it back 8 days ago, using the Peruvian Connection return label, and, as of yesterday, it had not been received by Peruvian Connection. I was also told that there is a good chance that it could take 2-3 weeks, from the time that it is received, to credit my credit card. I was told this by an employee who told me that only a few people work at the warehouse and that they can only process returns when they are not too busy. I was also told that they are very busy there now. Although I do not live near to a Peruvian Connection store, I was near one, a few days ago, and tried on the smaller size XS/S. It fit. However, I could not buy it because I had not received the credit from the returned coat. I am appalled that it would take a vendor 2-3 weeks to process a return. Of course, I will not do business with Peruvian Connection in the future. This was my first and only experience with Peruvian Connection.
I have enjoyed this store and its merchandise for some time, and have spent at least several hundred dollars, if not more. But I'm extremely disappointed that one dress I bought last year "fell apart" after a few wearings. It was so frayed under the arms that it looked more like a rag than a cool summer dress. I brought it back, confident a store of this caliber would give me a store credit or otherwise make good on it. It's not like I've had other complaints -- my satisfaction with other pieces is high, and I have spoken highly of the store to my large circle of friends and colleagues. (Nordstrom is my idea of retail excellence, making good on items for years into the future. But I was told that since this was not returned within 90 days, they would not provide a refund of any kind.) I appealed to the most senior person at the store, then to the manager -- and they tell me they spoke to national HQ -- all of whom said after 90 days, too bad -- apologies but nothing more. I am now a very DISSATISFIED CUSTOMER.
An actual Pretty Woman moment when I visited this store. I popped in looking for a jacket and wasn't warmly greeted upon entering... Ok, not the biggest deal. Another woman walks in shortly after me (dressed very nicely), and two female staffers IMMEDIATELY make introductions, compliment her outfit, make friendly conversation, etc. I waited a few minutes but interrupted one woman to ask where a specific jacket was located in the store. Without saying a word, she walked me over to the rack and said, "here" AND THEN WALKED AWAY FROM ME. I wanted to buy the jacket, but my size wasn't on the rack, and I wanted to avoid flagging another associate down to ask for a smaller size. So, I left the store to retreat from further discrimination and embarrassment. Those sales associates on the floor were absolutely horrendous. I will never revisit this location.
I really like this store. The products are wonderful & the staff has always made me feel welcomed and valued. This isn't a cheap discount store, so don't get your feelings hurt when you pick up a beautiful pima knit skirt and it's $130. You won't have to worry about going out and seeing serve real women wearing the same item in slightly different variations. Also the fashions are classic and long lasting. You will have people coming up to saying how awesome your outfit looks years after you purchased them as long as you follow proper fabric care.
Do NOT shop at this location. The managers of the store and RACIST. I went to an event here and there were 4 guests who had the same experience of racism. I met a white woman (who I presume was the manager) aboht 65 years of age and I was telling her about my company. My partner told her he loves our company and it makes him feel like dancing and proceeded to do a two step. After, she walked away and said “that’s what YOU people do”. I am disgusted these racist people are making money with a name like “Peruvian connection”.
Rudest staff I have ever experienced in a store. I had an online return and was treated like I should beg for letting them take the item back (even though all tags were on and i even brought the original packaging). I wasn’t sure which credit card I had used for the purchase and she immediately called “corporate” to report this “problem.” When she handed me the receipt, she didn’t say a word and just stared. It was an incredibly uncomfortable experience and I will not shop at this store/brand again.
After placing an order with this store I was promised an email for tracking purposes. Not receiving the email I called as a reminder that the email would help me. Still not receiving the email this post seems like a logical step. There are no other encouragements offered by Peruvian Connections, i.e. free shipping for any size orders. Not even 300.00 plus dollars. Really? Hacks me off.
I honestly can’t share details about the clothes because I have never bought them! My concern is the expense of them and the bad reviews of customers returns. If they had petite sizes, I would be much more comfortable taking a chance to see if they are worth the extra money but all the models in the catalogs are obviously tall! Even XS won’t work if it’s made for tall women.
Like many been shopping PC for decades. Other than Kansas City store in the 90's, all purchasing is online. They are out of the box in every way they compete. If that is not happening in the stores I hope Annie will practice her Yale roots and mitigate this gap. Regards.
I have only shopped through catalog but must say the clothes are fabulous. I have yet to find a garment inferior in any way. I've been purchasing for many years now and the clothing lasts, is classically beautiful and the sizing works perfectly for me.
This is upscale store in downtown Washington d c from what my wife tells me there is only a few of these in the world. She really enjoyed her shopping experience here.
I have been in love with Peruvian Connection for almost 20 years. So happy when the DC location opened. Helpful friendly staff. A tad pricey but worth it.
Great clothes, horrible service. Owner should come over once in a while to see how customers are treated. Standing at the counter for almost 10 minutes
Style is excellent for those seeking anAndean look or accessories. Nice selection and prices are high. Friendly staff and clean facility.
Love the quality of these clothes and linens. Great location, beautiful store and dressing rooms. Went during the semi annual sale.
Got some warm wool/cashmere skirts for winter. Good quality. Friendly staff.
