Came in here to grab some cat food quickly. I sometimes use this store, but not too often. This was at 6pm at night, and I wish I asked the name of the lady who was helping me, who is apparently a manager, because my problem is with her specifically. She asked an employee to help me with cat food. Employee walked me to where the cans were that I wanted to buy, I asked him what the discount was when bying in bulk. His response: “I am not sure.” I said – okay, can you find out? He went to ‘talk to the manager’ – comes back with the answer that there is no discount. I said ok that is weird I am pretty sure there is a discount for getting 12 or 24 or something like that. He says no. Okay, I get a ton of cans, way more than 24 and go to the counter, I also grab 1 remaining ‘value’ pack of that food that was on the shelf, as it offered some discount. At the counter I ask the manager if they have more of these value packs, as it offers some savings. She said – no whatever is on the shelf. She sees that I have a ton of cans and starts ringing them in. I say to her – ok that is weird that I am buying so many cans, and I know other stores offer discounts. She says – different store have different policies. I said – it doesn’t make sense to me. She responds – the only discount we offer is of cases of 24. ? I m like THAT IS WHAT I HAVE BEEN ASKING YOU AND YOUR EMPLOYEE FOR THE LAST 20 MINUTES. Like. I was really puzzled what is going on. She says – okay but its off the case of 24. I said ok what is this then? She says – they need to be in the box. I said – ok then give me a box. Like. I really don’t know what the hellz that was, the least helpful transaction in the history of all transactions. Unhelpful people that that should not be managers of any retail stores.

Such a lame experience, I had bought a toy and called back to exchange for something better that I saw. And they said yes...So I went back and they had sold the toy! Whatever I didn't make a big deal just weird and it was closing, so I was trying to be nice and said can we just do a credit?... and he did some kind of transactions gave me a slip of paper.. it said -11.00 and it was closing. But then I went back expecting to buy something and they said we don't do that way they do gift cards.. like I a am trying to pull a scam for 10 bucks... and then just keeps going.. they checked their records and gave me ten bucks. . Like I a month stupid... ... like very clear to me you did do the transaction to produce paper work that said you did... but no you didn't.. give me any money back.... really... it's like why would I think I have a credit.. if you gave me money... i just gad to agree.. it's just really totally lame... like I'm an idiot and not feasible they would make mistake... it seems small but just over I hate this place...

I came here today to use the dog wash everyone raves about. The area was very clean and well stocked. The gal checked in to make sure I had enough shampoo etc. The nozzle and pressure was good. After washing my dog, I went to use the dryer. It blew freezing cold air. My hands were frozen. My dog was frozen. I asked both staff members if the air was supposed to be so cold (wasn’t sure I missed a switch or something?). One said sorry. The other said it will warm up. It never warmed up. Neither of the staff came to check the dryer. My dog was clearly uncomfortable (he’s a retired show dog so well used to being groomed) so I decided to leave. I understand the dryers cannot be hot for the comfort of the dogs but this was freezing. I literally left with a soaking wet dog. I was charged full price for the wash. I brought my combs, brushes and scissors to thoroughly groom my dog. The whole point of using a dog wash is to leave the mess there. I came home and had to start all over.

I went in looking for a new carrier for my cat. The woman I spoke with showed me their selection of cat and dog carriers - I was initially looking for a backpack style bag but the only one in stocks was designed for small dogs and she recommended agaisnt it for a cat, citing a cat's potential ability to get loose through the small opening at the top. I selected what looked to be the largest cat style bag - she ever recommended a catnip spray (very reasonably priced) to entice my guy to sniff around and get comfortable with the bag. Good idea! However, when I got home the bag was clearly too small for him. Fortunately they have a very open return/exchange policy and I was able to easily take the bag back to them and exchange it for a larger-sized carrier. Great customer service and very easy to work with to get exactly what I needed for my guy - thanks for the help PetValue - highly recommended from me!

June 5 2023 This was my first time coming to this store… I need to pick my fur baby some treats … some of the staff was friendly but I did not appreciate two of staff members stocking shelves to be laughing and saying rude things about a customer… maybe some customers skills training will help them … I’m animal lover and I was asking about the cat for adoption one staff was helpful but the other was rude… at this location you are aloud to hold the cat … Please note wearing mask doesn’t protect you from getting sick and the staff was wearing it wrong… someone needs training her… Your customer service email doesn’t work so I can not email

I had 24 hours’ notice before bringing a puppy home, and as a first-time dog owner I didn’t know where to begin. Elise at Pet Valu was a GODSEND. She walked me through the store to help me find all the essentials, never pressuring me to make a decision or to go outside my budget. Her recommendations were also spot on. The octopus toy she suggested has been puppy’s favourite and he hasn’t stopped snuggling it since he came home. (See pics!) I felt so reassured after my visit and I know I’ll definitely return to Pet Valu - and this location - in the future. Also - the new pet guide book and coupons are an amazing bonus!

Management( Kyle) is so unprofessional and useless. Unpleasant experience! When asked to escalate and solve the matter with the manager, appears, that I'm speaking to Store Manager Kyle. He showed a poor leadership in front of his colleagues, as well as poor customer service in front of other customers. Then I asked Kyle to provide me with email or business card for further resolution. He denied giving above requested information and suggested to call to the store direct phone number. Again useless advice, since he is the manager and can't resolve it. Very disappointed! Going to avoid that store for sure!!!

Everyone here is very friendly and there are typically good sales on treats. The only downfall is that every few months they run out of the biggest Acana dog food bags so we’re either forced to buy a smaller bag (and lose out on the 13th free LARGE bag) or go somewhere else. We’ve gotten burned by this a couple times in the past when we get our free 13th bag we can only get the $60 one instead of the $95 one so we started going to a different store that doesn’t seem to have the same supply issues.

Due to an experience several years ago with the manager of this location (not sure if she still works there), and many other issues, I will never come here again. I was traumatized by this staff member and by this corporation. That being said I am taking some of my power back by leaving this review. Pet Valu does not care about its staff or people in general they care about money and what's easy for them i.e. treating people like replaceable robots.

I was looking for two specific items necessary to take my dog on a light-weight backpacking trip. This location was the only place I could find the H2O4K9 water bottle (necessary for effective water use) and the Collaps-a-bowl feeder. Other Pet Valu locations were out of stock, and other pet stores didn't even carry these. I recommend this Pet Valu location for all your traveling and backpacking needs when it comes to your dog!

I actually returned something here and they said they gave me a credit for it. However when I went to use the credit they said they paid me back in cash.... And that is what their records showed. Not a good experience for sure, especially since I got a run around for the product I was looking for, and in the end they just took my money, gave me nothing and sent me away feeling embarrassed.

I’ve found that the staff is hit or miss. I’ve only had one good experience here but took my dog for a bath and the staff was cold and my dog really didn’t like the environment as she’s very anxious. We will be going to the shawnessy location from now on as we had moved over due to how close this one was but it was just overall not a great experience for my dog or me

Your average pet store fare, BUT they have an absolutely stellar dog wash. Way better than those normally attached to car washes. Tubs easily fit my 100lb dog and aprons/towels are provided on site. Made the bath process much much easier Store also sells a variety of raw food in addition to dry. Staff is great, and selection plentiful. Can't go wrong shopping here.

I always have great experiences with Pet Value at Heritage. Staff are friendly, welcoming and very knowledge. When ever I have a question, they are there to support and answer. The store has a good range of pet foods and supplies that I need to take care of my cat. Overall, I would recommend this pet store to anyone looking for supplies for their pet.

It’s really unfortunate that while certain manufacturers guarantee their product (dog food), Pet Valu will only give you store credit for an item that’s been opened. Many other pet stores stand by the satisfaction guarantee with an actual refund. Those will be the only stores receiving my business moving forward.

I was assisted by a very kind young man named Kaden. He was absolutely wonderful! He was very helpful and extremely thorough. He had answers to all of my questions and helped me to find exactly what I needed and more. My shopping experience was excellent thanks to his help! I will certainly come back again.

2 stars because its handy if need be. Very awkward shopping experience they made me feel so uncomfortable there . One of the empolyees was really awkward she couldnt have a real conversation or could smile. Proably not gonna stop in again and just spend my money at save on foods next door. Very awkward . .

The store is very well organized, and has such a nice and clean look to it. I suspect the management has changed since I was in quite a while ago because the staff were super friendly and knowledgeable! Plus, I love that i can take my lil guy Monkey to the pet wash station …

The worst attempt at customer service I have ever experienced!!! The manager/owner is unprofessional and bad communication. My dog is such a bigger one, he only give us 30 mins to wash the dog, and doesn't care if you can finish or not. I will never ever come to this pet valu.

Went in yesterday to get a few things and stumbled upon these poor bettas in cloudy water it’s sad enough they live in small containers the least you can do is change there water very sad to see as a betta owner…Do better. Tried uploading pictures but wouldn’t let me.

If you’re looking for the best customer service and food... This is THE place to go for all your pet needs! Ever since I first got my puppy, this is the only place I go to for treats and food! Everyone is incredibly knowledgeable, and always in such great spirits!

Always come here for dog food. I used to spend over $100 a month on cheap poor quality food my poor pup would starve on. Now I buy a $65 bag of high quality food that lasts a full month and keeps my girl satisfied and healthy! Thank you!

The dog wash is amazing. A little bit uncomfortable with having to lean in but beats doing it at home with a large dog. Love the staff and the store is very clean. The dog bath feels wrong to use for a dog... I want to use it haha

We took puppy here for a shower. Luxurious looking tile tubs with water sprayer and dryer. Towels, shampoo and conditioner included. And a dog treat to finish. Much more comfortable than washing a dog in a bathtub at home!

Convenient location, well layed out with a good variety of pet foods, toys, and pet care products. Friendly and helpful staff. Relationship with AARCS so sometimes there is a cat available for adoption. Love this place!

My rescue had her first tub bath today here. She's been too terrified to get in the tub at home. The setup is convenient and stress free, everything is super clean and the staff were great.

I adopted Miss Kitty a.k.a. Arianna from Pet Valu. I had a wonderful experience and customer service there the staff are awesome I would defiantly recommend them.

Staff were okay nothing special. They don't have a lot for birds, so if you're looking to get something new to treat your bird babies, try another pet store.
