Was looking for a product and as advertised it says $119 online and “instock” at Caulfield however when we went to grab it it’s $143 in store. So I bought it online and they refuse to give the stock in store because it has to come from the warehouse. My complaint is don’t advertise stock is available at that price in store. That’s how the world works now, people look things up online and go to the store to grab it. To advertise differently is false advertising. Thank you for wasting our time, petrol and patience. In addition the manager of the store made rude comments to the person picking up the goods that I should be picking up at the mitre10 interstate as that’s where I’m at now. It’s hard enough trying to coordinate things while you’re away and then have to deal with rude and unhelpful people. ACCC should be looking into this because it’s false advertising and they should be labelling those prices as “online prices only”. There is no label of different prices anywhere and how are customers meant to know this?! I’ll be going to Bunnings now because at least their online prices reflect the same price in store

A bit of a different review here but: I popped in because I was having trouble with my electric guitar, got a set of screw drivers and pliers and was really happy with the service especially the chap who brought out a big ol' blade to cut my pliers out of their packaging. After messing around with my guitar for a bit in the parking lot I still couldn't sort it out, a staff member comes out I think his name was Mike? (Sorry mate I was too much in a daze!) sees I was having trouble with my guitar and heads back in takes the effort to grab a thick roll of wire, cuts me off a piece, proceeds to fix the issue (guitar strings had gotten wedged in due to rust), hands me the wire for safe keeping, says "Musos gotta stick together!", shakes my hand and I'm off. 5 stars for the great service, 6 stars for the chap with the knife and 7 stars for Mike (?) who saved my guitar just out of the goodness of his heart! Thank you!

After 8 years of being a loyal customer to service levels ranging from excellent to shocking I returned a power tool that had stopped working just after 1 year post purchase, but with a 3 year warranty. Store manager refused to replace and I had to insist. After checking with HO replaced but with warranty date from first purchase. When I went to store to pick up replacement and purchase additional products Store Manager was rude, seemingly not happy that I’d used my legal right to replace correctly and minimally used power tool? See you later Mitre 10, hello Bunnings. Addendum: So now the owner is saying I bought the wrong tool for the job. It was purchased after discussing intended use with staff member who said it was the right tool!

Unfortunately the poor reputation continues, at least for me. Keys cut and they don't work. Go back and not even an apology for the inconvenience of having to travel back. Do they not understand that this is a time waster and inconvenient plus?! Like I've got better things to do. Then the young bloke scoffed at me asking for an apology.! Seriously. An apology should be the minimum. An e.g. of not what to do in terms of how to keep a customer. Shame. Some minor adjustments and the key are still not perfect. Couldn't be bothered going back again! Would resist going there unless you have to. Sorry, facts are facts.

Only needed a few pieces of treated pine to finish a job. Service from the young guy with the skull mask in the timber yard was impeccable. 5 stars well done. Unfortunately i didnt get all that i needed . I was after a size that wasn't a stock line but it is only a small yard and they can't keep everything. Service is 10X better than those "BIG GREEN BOXES" that are everywhere. I much prefer these small local yards anyday. Thats where I got my start in the timber industry so please support all the local timber and hardware stores n only go to the big ones if its urgent ...... Thanks Peters !!!

Would leave a zero if possible,. 'Ken' lied straight to us and along with other team members made female members of our business feel small. The place used to be fantastic. Avoid it, plenty of other options that aren't going to make you feel stupid. We've spent tens and thousands of dollars there but won't be returning. Edit for their uneducated reply: 2 renovations, a lawn mower, bbq, paint, multiple power tools and a rear garden and new fence - let alone our other businesses. Your reply is an example of your staff response haha - Didn't take much to show your true colours.

I’m a local and like supporting local business. Bought window putty and it was rock hard. I’ve been purchasing from this store for ages and spent plenty of money with them. I didn’t have a receipt and they would not change product over. I did not want a refund I just wanted a good putty. They were more interested in closing than fixing my issue. I purchased window silicon on the day but in will be my last purchase if this is how to treat a loyal customer!!!

This is my local hardware store, very accessible. I have been there several times over many years and find the staff very helpful. They are not only informative about what is already in stock but will take initiative to suggest & source an item to solve a problem more exactly. I value this genuine attention to the individual customer. No need to waste time driving far & then walking around!

Ridiculously expensive (for retail DIY, dont know about trade). 50% to >100% more expensive than Bunnings. If the customer service & advice was amazing I would gladly pay the extra, but its not. I live nearby and sometimes go in there when I cant be bothered driving to Bunnings/Masters - and each time I swear I'll never go back.

Went to this joint to buy timber during COVID time. I do handyman work part time but I wasn’t dressed like a real Anglo Saxon tradie so refused entry. Not sure what I need to wear to go and buy stuff. Maybe few tattoos, arrogant look I suppose to be a typical tradesmen.

I have been going here for decades. Its more convenient than a bunnings as its quicker to get a variety of items. The staff are up for a joke & the timber guys are always helpful. Parking is generally not an issue
