Hi all, Just visited Petfood Plus on Canterbury Road with my wife. I was wearing a mask but my wife wasn't as she has a medical exemption and she was refused entry since it was "store policy". The store manager was very aggressive on the phone when I called to complain. He even went on to say that we "just went there to cause trouble" when I explained that exemptions exist for those that cannot wear a mask. I even pointed out that a female staff member wasn't even wearing her mask properly as it wasn't covering her nose - I asked if he thought that covid doesn't enter the nose. He didn't care. He even suggested to my wife that she wear a mask under her chin! Subsequently, he said that the staff and other customers are uncomfortable with someone not wearing a mask. So how exactly does wearing a mask incorrectly make people comfortable? Seriously, there's no point of wearing a mask if it's under your chin but he was ok with wearing it that way as long as my wife had a mask. After spending thousands of dollars at this place - we have 3 dogs, 2 cats and 2 rabbits and to be spoken to like that by a person that refused to see reason in what I said and telling us that we were there just to cause trouble is a disgusting way to treat your loyal customers that buy 90% of their pet needs and accessories from you! Update: my daughter visited today after we had been and watched them serve a man who WAS NOT wearing a mask. When she questioned the manager, he just said that the man had a medical exemption. HUH??? So did my wife and she wasn't even allowed in the store! When my daughter asked the owner about it, he told her that "didn't want to argue about it and that's his store's rules".

was completely put off purchasing from this company as I watched them bully and humiliate a woman who couldn't wear a mask for medical reasons, she even offered to show them the exemption which they wouldn't accept. she remained calm the whole time as she explained that this wasn't fair practise and in response they got in her face and were quite intimidating and even let other customers abuse her. they even said it was people like her "putting children at risk" and allowed another customer to go on a long winded rant about how her husband was in hospital due to people like the exempt lady and every time she tried to defend herself the staff and mainly the man who identified himself as the owner said to "stop speaking" and that she was "causing trouble". was very sad to witness and I don't think anyone should spend their money supporting a business so willing to advocate for discrimination, bullying and harassment. sad to see the lack of humanity

Best pet store in the surrounding areas without a doubt. Massive varieties of food , toys , cages etc for most pets.. Staff are very friendly , welcoming and knowledgeable. Prices are more then fair compared to other pet stores. My only negative about this place is the parking. If the parking is full, it's pretty much a nightmare getting in or out as it's on a main road. Even if you do get a parking spot, when other customers come to park, They tend to block you off and you have to wait for them to finish their shopping as the car park is very small and hard to maneuver with vehicles. In saying that, given the amount of space they have , there is not much they are able to do.. so I usually park in the side street and walk about 100 metres which is no drama. Highly recommended.

I am a exotic bird breeder and this store has Great friendly staff who are willing to take the time to help you with any question. They also have an endless list of great and hard to find pet products which will benefit any pet lover. They helped me get products I needed when no one else was willing to take me serious or order such items. If you are looking for the best quality products for your birds this is the one stop shop. They have up to date and quality food for all parrots of varying ages, from neo to wean. And also a great selection of toys, cages and accessories. Keep up the good work. Regards HUV AVIARIES

Do not shop here... If I could give this place zero stars I would. Prices aren’t competitive at all and their customer service is absolutely DISGUSTING. The number of times I hear of family and friends having a horrid time with the staff being rude and unhelpful, claiming people are shop lifting or not believing a customer, then realising they are at fault and not apologising. It’s a waste of space and it takes a lot for me to come to such a conclusion. Flower power have a great pet shop, my pet warehouse St. Peter’s also great. Anywhere but here.

I have to say firstly that the young guy there really knew his stuff, My dogs skin has never been better. He recomended a grain free salmon based dog food "Canidae" that has saved my german shepherd Prince. He was suffering and scratching daily and we had tried everything, the medications from the vet helped but as soon as i stopped them, the itch came back. Best advise i have been given at any pet store. :) My dog Prince Thanks You.

This store claim to know about birds but the shop parrot is stuck in a cage on it's own with no fresh branches or food, no toys or bells, dirty water & empty seed shells & squarks from boredom. Staff sit around on their computers & completely ignore this poor neglected bird. This is a store who have no idea how to care for a bird. Disgusting. Should be reported.

I have been going to Petfood Plus for many years & would think of nowhere else for all my pets needs. Its a smaller store but dont let that fool you it has a huge range to suit any pet you have. They have fresh, frozen, tinned, dry foods as well as much more. Prices are great & the staff are super friendly & very knowledable. Highly recommend Petfood Plus

Excellent customer service. We came in to purchase items for a new rabbit we have and the sales people were exceptionally friendly and informative. They were all so happy to help and answered all our questions. There prices are very reasonable and I will only shop here for all future items needed!! Highly recommend!!

Lovely store that has a larger variety of items for Birds (more than other similar places) as well as all other pets. My birds love all the chewable toys and natural branch perches available from petfood plus. Even got a nice, big cage with accessories for a better price than at other competitors with the same cage.

Great selection of items for your pets and impressive customer support. Their prices are cheap, they were all really attentive both in person and over the phone, and helped me with my enquiry immediately. They were really helpful and informative throughout it all. I'll definitely be visiting again.

This place discriminates against people with medical conditions. Been going to this place for years for my cat and dog and i definitely won't be going back. They have no respect for medical exemptions of any sort. Need to be slapped with a lawsuit for discrimination. Just disgusting!

great place for all your pet needs, they don’t just sell pet food! wide range of bird cages, and all types of pet toys etc as well as pet food. so much cheaper than other places. also one of the few places in sydney that stock harrison’s organic bird food. highly recommended

Worst experience at this pet store. Sold me expired food that made my cat sick. When I took the rest of the food back they didn’t care and told me they can’t refund or exchange the expired food. I’m left with vet bills a poor sick kitten and expired food. DO NOT RECOMMEND!

Best service and supplies for pets. I have been purchasing my dog supplies from from them for years firstly when I owned a Rottweiler and now with my Amstaff and the guys are superb.. Best advise and good prices. I can't recommend these guys enough they are just the best!

I always get asked if I need any help. Sometimes it's yes. That's when I go and look for someone for assistance. But other times I just like to look around because there's a lot of stuff to see or maybe I just like to look at stuff and maybe think of the need to buy it.

I stop by here occasionally to grab things for my pets and the staff are always making sure that you've been looked after. They are also super knowledgable and its always helpful to gain advice on how to care for your animals. Prices are fairly reasonable as well.

Great selection of goods for dogs, cats, birds, fish etc...the staff have great knowledge & a great personna when it comes to clients, parking can be difficult sometimes, but you can park in next street to the left heading southbound. Pricing is on the mark also.

Knowledgeable personalised and caring service. The assistant fitted my German Shepherd with the right harness, and made sure he was completely comfortable. Also took the time to teach us how to fit it ourselves. I will come back here again for sure

best kangaroo meat for my canines... best I’ve found hands down... not watery or smelly. Fresh as... I’m quite particular about the food I give my pets. Usually sold out by Sunday though. So Tuesday restocked usually... my routine for years now...

Terrible customer service !! I only ask few questions to know how to use the product.Then the stuff come to me say, we are very busy here just take your stuff and go. If they can’t answer any questions of your product, they should close the shop.

Plenty of variety in choices for your pets, more than most retailers have. Staff were very helpful, especially Arthur. Very friendly bloke and helped me pick out the better choices for my new reptile tank, plenty of info from him. Thanks Arthur!

Huge variety of most pet things. Loved the bird toys n dog toys - so did our dog. Reasonable prices n friendly staff n they were especially friendly to Scar. Easy to get to and park right outside the door.

Not much parking, staff not overly interested in helping even when 4 staff in the store and just 1 customer (need to hunt them down and demand help). Product choices limited and prices high.
