"I was helped put by a very knowledgeable and awsome girl! She helped me get everything I needed for my ferret! I checked out the marshal farm they come from no inbreeding so tumers and cancer are slimmer chances, and there free range, there animals are great and clean very well taken care of and alot better condition and environment than other places I looked, also they have the best prices, and the girl even helped me get everything to my car! I would recommend this place to anyone! Only thing that made me sad was they wouldn't let me pay for the ferret and come back to pick it up in a hour"

Horrible service. Sold me a sick sugar glider that died after a week. Have continuously been in contact with the store for months who repeatedly told me that they would replace it when they had that same color morph come in. I have the call recordings of these interactions. I called today for an update and the owner told me her employees would never say that, I offered to send her my call recordings and she said she didnt need them because the employee that sold me the animal would know better than to say that. I spent over $500 for animal that was sick and died. Owner said her gliders are yellow because they pee on themselves (not true) and before she cut me off on the call I didn't get the chance to tell her I had a necropsy done on the glider they sold me and it DID die from illness not from loneliness like she said. She recommends keeping gliders together within a matter of days instead of following medical advice of separation periods to ensure sickness/parasites cannot be transmitted between your pets. -necropsy was 450, did not go to vet because glider died before the appointment, you repeatedly said you wouldn't leave a glider without a cage mate for more than a few days even those there should be a quarantine period which you mentioned you would do for birds but not gliders. They can and do use the bathroom everywhere but they groom themselves and if their fur is white, it should stay white not turn yellow.

I visited in late November, with the intention of purchasing either a Ball Python or Corn Snake, plus the respective complete setup. The staff is knowledgeable and very welcoming. For me, patience was their greatest virtue. I spent quite a bit of time deciding on the species, then the particulars of the setup, then even more time selecting the specific Corn Snake I wanted. All the while, the staff was answering questions, and checking in on me. Although they had a limited stock of all-inclusive snake setup kits, I was able to piece together my set and get the discount for the animal. Regarding my animal, it was healthy when I bought it, had (and still has) a great feeding response, and is very much active. This place has a great selection of Corn Snake morphs. I understand they feed snakes at the beginning of the week, so I recommended purchasing one on Friday or the weekend, to avoid regurgitation from the stress of moving it to a new environment. The staff is also very happy to have customers bring in their large reptiles to interact with- call in advance to ensure everyone is ready to check it out. I am very pleased with the initial and continued service here. If you are in the market for a reptile, this is the place to go.

I was helped put by a very knowledgeable and awsome girl! Only thing that made me sad was they wouldn't let me pay for the ferret and come back to pick it up in a hour. There was only 2 left so I wanted to make sure I got one. But they explained they didn't want to put it in the back so that was fine and I understood. The ferret prices here are about 50 to100 dollars cheaper than other places. And there already friendly! My ferret is already hanging out with me and laying in bed, exploring the house and full of energy! There not depressed or Mall nourished or anything! Must go to pet land!!

Hello to everyone who has viewed my previous posts about how amazing Petland is and viewed the pics of my beloved Miss Dusty Gray, the dearest Dwarf Jersey Wooly bunny I adopted September 2018. She's such an intelligent, tiny little fur baby whose brought me and my family such joy. Weighing less than 2lbs she looks tripple her weight with all her gorgeous wooly hair. Thanks to the knowledgable staff at Petland, I learned that Jersey Wollies are very smart animals who can be trained. She's potty trained and uses her bunny box, I trained her to stand up to get treats and recently we started playing "catch" with 100% natural apple tree sticks. It's such an incredible experience to give Miss Dusty Gray an apple stick ( I just hold it up to her mouth), have her take it and toss it back to me to catch! She was about 1 year old when I adopted her and we established an amazing bond in less than 6 months. Thanks Petland!

Clean, happy, socialized animals, loving and devoted staff. I’m currently searching for a female Eclectus Parrot because I saw they adopted one out many years ago. I stopped by to check out their birds and they were wonderful to speak with and evaluate. If they had had the bird I was looking for I would have worked with them happily. Terrie is a wonderful person. Sometimes the brightest stars burn the hottest-bringing with them hate and drama. This is the kind of person Terrie is-truly an amazing person. And sometimes amazing, kind people are taken advantage of. That’s why there are negative reviews at all about her. She’s wonderful and ignore them. They don’t have the Bird I’m looking for but they had beautiful well socialized Quakers, Conures, and budgies. No Macaws currently or Cockatoos, etc.

I purchased a parrot from them and the experience is amazing. My girl is still a little too young to leave so I visit her almost every day. The staff is wonderful and always helpful. For a first time bird mom purchasing a larger bird I had so many questions and they have provided so much help and everyone is willing to answer all my questions and make sure we are doing things properly. They care about their animals unlike most pet stores so they make sure they are a good match for the people with whom they go. Looking forward to getting my girl home and we will definitely be going back in to visit. Love Terrie and all the staff, if you are looking for a new family member or just a fantastic customer experience with people who know what they are talking about, petland is the place to go.

I have to say that I really appreciate Connor and his assistance. He was always so sweet and kind when I’d go in, which was just about every day. I never had any issues with any of the workers, however, this older woman was the rudest person I’ve ever encountered there. I used to go in daily, but now I’ll never go back in because of her. She’s extremely snide/rude and should not work in the customer service industry if she’s going to act this way. The unfortunate thing is that I’m pretty sure she’s the owner. I was going to buy a ferret, which is upwards of 400$, but she was rude and has now lost my business. I’d recommend going somewhere else- she doesn’t deserve your time or money. You can try Clark’s Pet Emporium or another local business, since I’ve never had any issues there.

Have purchased 5 young rats over the last 3 weeks or less, and two have passed. No idea why, and they refuse to replace even one, or give a discount on a new one. We have done tons of research and are taking great care of them. The remaining three are fattening up (pretty skinny and soaked in urine when we bought them) and very happy and friendly. The most recent one who passed was smaller than the rest, her face was shaped different than the other ones, and I called and made them aware of this before she passed, because I had a feeling she might. She died in her sleep curled up in the food bowl. No apologies from the shop owner, Terri, just skepticism. Will not be buying here again.

This was a fun pet store. You could tell they really love the pets. It's interesting that all the men have the same haircut and beard's style. all the staff war jungle seemed uniforms, which I really enjoyed. the animals are on the expensive side. But this way, you're sure that the pet will go to a good home. That will actually value the pet. They had oxygow's they had cockatoos they had little parrots that was wonderful. This place had the most expensive Beta fish. I have ever seen $30 for a fancy Beta fish. But this place also had the best way of keeping a displaying their bed of fish I have ever seen..

Every time I go in to buy something I've noticed that the prices on the tags and the prices in their system don't match. The prices in the system seem to be $10+ higher than the posted price. Animal products don't fluctuate that quickly, stop trying to raise prices that quickly and stop trying to rake over your customers by charging outrageous mark-ups for products that literally don't fluctuate that quickly according to competitor's prices. Your store is always immaculate and your selection is top notch but your prices need to be more consistent and competitive.

This is my favorite petstore in Albuquerque, and the staff really seem to love animals. My only complaint was that the wings of the parakeet I got were clipped too short, which made him fall fast to the floor. I worried that he would be hurt. Even though he would step up on my finger, it took awhile for him to actually trust me. I'm guessing it didn't help that the parakeets were in a bin in the store where people reached in from above, which is anxiety-producing for birds. I would recommend clipping only one wing. Otherwise, I love this petstore.

  • jayce mcbroom

Horrible business for the well being of animals. Employees blatantly know about animals with ringworm on the floor, and are still sold. Came here trying to buy two males and ended up getting a make and a female. Had to come back to switch it out I already had 3 males therefore I could not have a female. An employee let us know the rats we were looking at on the floor more than likely have ringworm and had to get a younger ray from the back he sent us home with that still ended up having ringworm and spreading to all of my other rats.

I have found that Pet land is so much more together and knowledgeable than other locations. I have been to Petco and Petsmart. Clark's is also really good, but you can tell the animals are cared for and maintained, and I honestly believe even socialized more here. We bought a corn snake and hamsters (on multiple occasions). They always know their stuff, will the time to help you and the animals have been great! Even going there for food and just to ask questions I've never been steered wrong.

  • Hi

It was marvelous. The workers there are very experienced with the handling of animals. If you ask questions about any animals care they will be informed. Personally I love the budgies, here are some pictures of me holding some of the little animals. The conditions of the animals are good. There are birds, tarantulas, snakes, ferrets, scorpions, sugar gliders, hedgehogs, corn snakes, ball pythons, parrots, leopard geckos and all types of other lizards, such as bearded dragons.

Absolutely love how much this place has improved over the last six months. The store looks beautiful and spotless, animals well taken care of and fish look great! Marvelous food, treat, cage, terrarium and even fish medication selections! Came in for some ich medication for my fish, left with a bunch of beautiful aquarium plants and more knowledge than I had before. Wonderfully kind and patient staff who ensured I had everything I needed. Thank you!

  • David Gibson

Wonderful staff! They are knowledgeable and helpful. We pass several other petshops on our way to this one because we get better service here. They also have a love for the animals, and it shows. Being able to handle the animals in the store makes it somewhere my daughter asks to go whenever we are deciding what to do for the day. This is great as the animals are more acclimated to people than ones that have been just sitting. It is a win-win.

I try to purchase local whenever possible, and petland is one of the best. The staff obviously care very much for animals and their well-being. One kneeled down to my twin toddlers height and did the most amazing job at explaining gentle pets and introducing them to different animals. We still a few years from bringing home a rabbit or snake, but the store is a great place to purchase toys and treats for our Newfie and corgi.

  • Max Pena

Five stars if they had what we needed but understandably they had limited inventory pre-move to the new location. As a result, we missed out on 10% discount on supplies for terrarium with our reptile purchase. We are very happy with our red uromastyx geyr. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. On a side note, they should start to stock millet substrate for their arid desert reptiles particularly their herbivore reptiles.

  • Kym Diamond

Petland is a wonderful place! I love how customers can interact with the animals. It helps in the decision-making process and also helps to socialize the animals. The staff is friendly, although usually stretched fairly thin. Safari nights on Thursday nights are fantastic! Such a great weekly event for the kids and a wonderful way for everyone to learn more about the animals.

  • Shelley “Jo” Greene

Wonderful customer service. I have 2 bearded dragons and a large iguana at home, 2 of the guys who work there have a lot of knowledge with these reptiles and understand what kind of insects I need. I can call the store in advance to check what insects available. they put them to the side for me so they don't sell out with me being 30 to 45 minutes from them

  • Aaron Herrera

This is probably the best pet store I've ever been to. All of their animals look healthy and well taken care of (truly the most humane hamster enclosures I've ever seen), and they + the equipment necessary to take care of them are all priced reasonably. Staff is very nice and well informed. Bought a spider here a week ago and she has been doing great.

  • charley gibson

Love. This. Store. The animals are well cared for and clearly loved by the staff. Although the prices are high, the customer service is so great. One of the staff in particular, Alaska, was super helpful and honest while I was choosing my rat.The majority of my pets are from Petland, and they are all doing AMAZING. All around, great store.

  • Vanessa Cleaver

Went in to purchase fish. The employees were helpful and knowledgeable. The manager was out on the floor also and was helping people. They carry a large variety of fish and aquatic creatures. They can even special order for you. They also have a good variety of small, fuzzy animals, amphibians, and birds. I will visit here again.

  • Nicole Ortiz

My kids were asked if they had enough money when the night before we spent 1,000 and then again almost 500 why would anyone go back don’t judge people and yes my kids have money please learn how to be respectful and not judge people and thanks for putting my 12 year old kid down

  • Nicole Cook

Staff was helpful and involved. The owner was sweet and interacted with us. I bought a cockatiel from them 2 weeks ago and I'm just not sure it was actually hand fed. I love her and she is definitely spoiled. We try to interact/talk/sing to

  • Carlos

If your going to purchase a small parakeet from here than waste no time! I purchased one back in a April of 2021 and it’s now been 8 months and the bird seems to have some sort of PTSD like no joke! The store owner said it would take 1-2

  • Laborum50

The store is great. The workers are great. The older lady likes to "share" her opinions a bit too often, which are sometimes just wrong. "Don't get attached to your first fish because it's going to die. Don't give it a name". "Shrimp are

This review should of been left months ago. I bought 2 lovebirds in early summer. The blue lovebird is named blue (AKA) butchered blue! The vet also said is was butchered. The owner is very unprofessional, she argued with me for 20 some

  • Jose Martinez

Me n my wife liked the manager she was white lady she New what she was talking bout but there was one employee that was being rude bout our bunnies bout leaving them 2gther in the same cage but they have them in the cage all together

  • Jami Culbertson

I always love coming here especially with the AMAZING different choices of new pets :) the employees are very sweet and engaging and their knowledge is top notch. Me and my 2 sons have become regulars here every Tues or Friday lol

  • Nicholas Ansloan

I’ve visited Petland plenty of times and always had good experiences. I met the owner once who recommended a few extra grooming items that have come in handy. They have a large selection and reasonable prices for many pets.

  • GXTH

Everyone here is so friendly I love to come here to have my bird claws clip but the problem is when I tell them to not clip my birds wings but they still do it and I don't really appreciate it besides that I love this place

  • Gayle V

We love Petland. They have a great selection of pets and the staff are knowledgeable. We’ve purchased many of our little pets here over the years. We recommend coming here to buy your next little family member. :)

  • Jamie kramer

I love this store not only are they so friendly but the small pets are all handled so if u want a pet u can hold from the time u get it I suggest going here there animals are so well cared for.

  • Nick Tolk

Everything I'm looking for and plenty more. I'm usually making quick stops for rodent food and treats, and there are quite often people there taking advantage of their dog classes.

  • Kathy Gunn

Love the small town feel. The owner is extremely knowledgeable. They let my daughter with autism hold a bird when she is struggling with depression because it helps her so much.

  • Sam “OctoKoy” Williams-Earl

Staff are super wonderful, prices are great. Great place to go for dog treats that aren't your usual store bought crud. My girl loves the pigs ears which are 15 for $10.

  • Droopy Romulus

The store owner was so kind and caring giving us advice to treat my birdies it's hard to find someone with a caring heart for animals like her thank you Soo much!!

  • Anne Davis

Horrible owner. Doesn't care about the animals- she's only looking to take your money and sell you an animal that's not in good health. Go somewhere else.

  • Victoria Bachicha

Very helpful and informative when I got my sugar gliders. They had good deals on. Kits for animals as well so each pet has what they need for new owners.

  • eve

Came in to look for a cockatiel, but the 2 women let me see the cockatoos and they provided amazing and pleasant customer service, will come again.

  • Dominic Loveless

Friendly, helpful, courteous, good selection of critters. I bought 2 adult discus from there and they are loving it in my 75 gallon tank
