I do not know this guy but my car stopped working and had no choice but to bring it to the closest mechanic (Bayside). I had a clogged cat converter and that's all that needed to be replaced. This guy gave me an estimate near 2000 dollars saying I need to replace my O2 sensors 1 cat (not both) and what really busts my bubble is that the car went in with one problem and came out with 2. He says I have a leak in my radiator and I need to replace it, replace thermostat and a bunch of other things. OK I took my car back as is and it was missing all the coolant (I filled it up 2 weeks now no leak). End of story I bought the cats online for 300 bucks and had another shop install it for 150 bucks. no problems, no leak, running amazing with my new cats on my infiniti g35. If you wants to replace all the parts that do not need to be replaced this is the place to go. If you cant afford it and need your car do not go here. Upsetting because I am Italian and he is the first Italian mechanic I ever dealt with. Apparently there was no hook up, he must of felt he needed to make more money off me. Unless you are wealthy do not go here, he is absurd . Hard to trust someone that wants to replace things that do not need to be replaced and creates issues that do not exist. Paul Petrone is blacklisted in my book and anyone else I know will know his thieving ways. FYI - My car had an inspection 6 days before the clogged cat issue and they did not find any radiator issue and fluids were all topped off, when I got my car back from PP it was empty. They drained it and never filled it up letting me drive around with no antifreeze probably hoping I would break it myself. Horrible Horrible mechanic. TRUST ? Si Stugotz

If I can give this place a negative star I will. I was very hesitant because this is a family own shop and I usually do not want to leave a bad review, but my experience was truly horrendous. So what happen was my car got into an auto accident and was sent to this shop as it is one of the place that is authorized Tesla repair shop. So in short, my car was damaged but they said it was repairable. Every time I called they said it was still repairable and they are just waiting for parts. 4 months down the line, they finally told me it was ready for pick up. The day before my pick up date they told me my car was total loss. This is because they finally open up the body structure and realize it was "catastrophic" inside. The craziest part is they did not even notify me that my car was complete loss. I called them to verify my pick up appointment and thats when I found out. Secondly, how are you going to charge me parts fee or a restock for those parts when you did not even fix my car. AS THE EXPERT you claim you are, you should of done a full examination on my car before ordering parts. It seems like you just want to waste my time and energy on a loss cause. The audacity that you guys have to charge me for storage fee was completely outrageous. Hopefully this review helps future victim of a car accident to realize how this company works. Please bring it to a trusted shop as my experience was completely horrifying.

I had overspray damage on a Tesla a few months back. I also had a couple other cars damaged as well. The quote i received for it was over $2000. I think most mechanics would probably charge this amount and go for buffering the car with a polisher. However later on I figured out how to repair the other cars myself with a $25 kit on amazon and about 2 days worth of work each car. If anyone gets an overspray from a construction site or whereever and the paint is epoxy based, check out clay bars and spray kit before asking any of the mechanics for estimates. Its likely you will ignore fixing the roof of the car but hey its good enough to return a leased car and for reselling purpose. In the process of repairing the overspray, Petrone damaged a window and the wheel lip mouldings. The plastic mouldings gloss was removed probably from buffering. I think the clay bar should work, however if not, its best just to get new lip mouldings from manufacturer. Gave them a 3 star because the price offerred was expected and the work done understandable. But as a consumer, i shouldnt have found out a much cheaper and effective solution.

I initially took my 2012 BMW X6 in to replace rear brakes and rotors. Paul was very nice and explained the pricing. I asked him to look at for a possible engine oil leak that the BMW dealership recommended. After Paul confirmed the leak, he gave me a great price and recommended to do the job immediately as not getting it repaired can be dangerous. When I picked up the car, Paul explained the work that was done. Afterwards, I brought in another BMW, this time a 328xi which was also due for some service as recommended by the BMW dealership. Again, I was quoted a great, reasonable price. However, upon further inspection, Paul informed me that the timing chain needed to be replace as well and that this was a prevalent issue among BMW's with N20/N26 engines. I told him that my current car is only valued around $10k and that it wouldn't make sense to perform $4k+ worth of repairs. Paul agreed and resembled my car for pickup. All of the diagnostic work done was at no charge! He was professional and courteous and I will be coming back again. Thank you Petrone family!

I'm pretty hesitant to take my vehicle to any body shop within New York City because most of them look dumpy, shady, and gross. However this body shop has more than exceeded my expectations. The owner called me all the time with updates regarding my car. Work was done in a timely manner. The amount of care and concern that went into my vehicle repair is unparalleled to any other type of customer service I have had done when dealing with my car. Most importantly they made me feel comfortable and assured me that they will be doing an excellent job. They made sure that all my needs were met. After everything was said and done, my car looks absolutely beautiful and has returned the show room quality like the day I picked it up from the dealership. This place will now become my go to place for anything that has to do with my car from electrical to general repairs and bodywork. I could not recommend the more, and most importantly thank you Frank for your time and care and making me feel comfortable with your business.

Petrone Automotive had been a spectacular experience for me! Where do I begin, I was greeted and hosted by Joe! Joe showed compassion when he saw the damages on my Mazda CX-5 and assured me that the car would be repaired and brought back better than it's original state before the accident and sure he did, less than two weeks later right before Christmas, Joe and Petrone Automotive came dashing down and brought back my Mazda as if it had just rolled out the manufacturer warehouse. I really thought they had replaced it with a new one! Petrone Automotive was recommended to me by Liberty Mutual Insurance Company and I've never been so much happier with my decision and overall experience with trusting Petrone Automotive to repair my car! Tried to take us for 900$ on an issue that a second shop told us didn't exist. Glad we got the second opinion. Have used these people repeatedly due to convenience of location and walked away with a bad feeling afterward each time. I don't know why. They have good reviews from everyone I've read but in my experience, they've been rushed to get the car finished and collect their payment for work that was questionable and overpriced. On one occasion they kept my keys for 3 weeks before looking at the car and then told me they had other jobs that took priority. I was told by another mechanic that they have alot of rent to pay and so they hustle everyone that comes through. Whatever the case, I will not go back there again.

Started to go here after a couple of other mechanics in the area, one was dishonest with a smile while the other was just extra on everything. These guys are honest. Three generations working under the same roof. They get the job done and just do what needs to be done. I am not ignorant of cars, and they usually confirm what I already knew. I will continue to keep going to this place because they don't really need my business and do a good job.

After my accident, Petrone was recommended to me as the shop to go to for BMW auto body work. I could not have been more pleased with the work they performed and the manner in which this process was handled. They restored my car to mint condition and went as far as including additional re-surfacing and painting. If you are in an accident (and I hope you are not) and your car needs work, Petrone is the only place you need to know.

Very good body shop. Don't have pre-work photos to attach, but really helped me out with damage to the front of my vehicle after my first accident. While initial ETA was a week or so off of the actual, the results were well worth the wait. Owner is never shy to take you to the back of the shop and show you the work in progress and explain details. Would definitely recommend to friends and family.

Brought my Mercedes in for a bit of paint and bodywork last year, Frankie and his team quickly gave me a reasonable quote and time frame and finished ahead of ETA! Other than a slight panel misalignment which they adjusted, it was a perfect job and looked indistinguishable from new. I'd recommend anyone bring their Mercs here, excellent quality work.
