**edit in response to the reply: you tried to offer me 5 dollars for the dress, and I said I can’t do that because the dress is selling for $70 online. I offered to show you. I did not ask for $70 for the dress; I actually asked for $30. Publicly lying isn’t helping this at all. I’m happy but shocked that the man is the owner! You should let him have a say— the poor guy wasn’t allowed to have an opinion of his own!** They were so rude! I interacted with a woman, but I’m not sure if she was the owner or manager. I called in advance to ask if they buy clothes and she was unnecessarily snarky to me. I thought about not coming at all after that but figured it was worth a try/that somebody else might be there. When I came in with some clothing to sell, she was incredibly rude and outright mean about some of my pieces. It’s one thing to just say no; it’s another to be hurtful and crass. Plus, she tried to tell me my mom’s clothing from the 70s and 80s weren’t vintage because of the brand names. Just because a brand still exists today doesn’t mean they don’t have vintage items! That was very surprising for a vintage store. (Plus, I’ve seen some modern fast fashion brands in there.) She tried to buy a few pieces at a shockingly low price, especially considering how overpriced their clothing is. She wouldn’t negotiate at all. I had just come from the other vintage stores in the area who offered me very reasonable amounts for my clothing. (Side note, they have a sign in the fitting room saying that if a price is too high, talk to them and they’ll help you have it, but they get mad at you if you mention that/have never been willing to lower a price. That’s always bothered me!) There was, however, an older man she was working with (he clearly worked for her) who was very, very sweet. It’s a shame he doesn’t run the place! In summary: Pilsen has a few wonderful vintage stores— go there instead! I highly recommend Trash. Despite the name, they’re great, reasonable, and so unbelievably nice. Personally, I feel way better supporting a place like that.
Great store! Great items, the older owner is nice. But the girl there treat the place as a museum and not a store. Find displayed items and she will refuse to sale them because “she didn’t really want to or they are hers”. Another time an item had a goodwill price tag for a way lower price and she said she got the item from more from a guy and didn’t want to sale it to me… neither did she want to sale the news papers on display on the floor and when she finally detached from one, she wanted $30. You can go look, but probably won’t buy anything, unless the guy is there. The store on the other side of the street is good as well.
Great vintage shop on a street filled with vintage shops. They really did an excellent job of styling + laying out the store; it's such a fun place to just walk around and explore. I've only visited once and the staff seem friendly and chill. They've got records, plenty of vintage clothing for women AND men, plus a few dope furniture finds. The prices seem reasonable, and compared to other vintage stores on the block, they seem to have a pretty great selection.
I went in on a busy day, so I wouldn’t be fair to rank service as I was in a large crowd in there. Their pricing was decent for their vintage items, but they are really lacking as far as size inclusivity goes. I tend to wear a medium, but I like to buy for plus sized friends and family or buy oversized for myself. There was nothing to fit that size range on the day I went. Always disappointing to see thrift/vintage excluding those size ranges.
nice vintage clothing but beware if you find a stain and ask if you could get a couple of bucks off just know your gonna be blamed for the stain . I found a dress with a half dollar size cooking oil stain and asked if the dress could get a couple of dollars off. And the employee accused me saying that stain wasn't there.... but it was dry as hell and hard. Lmao so funny but yeah just know through my experience.
I was out to get tacos, but I came across Pilsen Vintage where it displayed an old renaissance, very Victorian outfit. I went into the store. I was offered a drink by the owner. Our conversation meandered from old Medieval clothing to exploring Belize (owner’s parents’ homeland). I love just popping into the store for random cultural exchange and shopping. Keeping the Pilsen spirit on fire! Thanks!
Good selection, disappointing service. No hello, do you need any help, etc. Had to ask for a text receipt to get one at all. Clerk more concerned with friends/coworker behind the counter. Found a R&K originals dress and jacket and was told the price tag wasn't their price tag - I didn't put one on there, and there wasn't two, so...yeah. I'd return for the product but not the customer service.
Lovely staff, a great collection of vintage clothes across the ages and some designer pieces. They have a really unique jewellery collection, many things have a Latin feel. We actually brought some really nice glasses and a beautiful handmade mirror, although there's only a small amount of furnishings, these were both absolutely gorgeous and were sold at reasonable prices.
If you are to lazy to go to the salvation armies or unique thrift this is your spot. The owner trolls real 2nd hand stores then marks up the item by 2oo percent. Alot of wanna be artist walk in but rarely. Buy anything. Perfect place for hipsters who drink 8$ coffee. 31 & halsted has great selection and us a thrift store not a vintage scam
Great store and selection and people! I accidentally left a jacket I wanted to purchase. (Went to the fitting room to try on some tops and left the jacket at the counter.) I messaged Pilsen Vintage and Maggie responded. They were so helpful and held the jacket for me!! Thank you so, so much Maggie + Pilsen Vintage. See y'all soon! <3
Had to give this amazing place 5starts. For many reasons but, mainly for how helpful they are from the workers to the owner very generous guy. I came in looking for Disney shirts for my trip & I found so many vintage ones here. If your near Pilsen... I highly recommend you stop by and check this pretty cool place out!
My experiences here at PVT have been always great. The man Paul is so caring. He made sure my time in there was fulfilled. The staff went out of their way to help me match a vintage outfit I needed for a party. THEY HAVE THE BEST JEWLERY. you can sit and chill on their couch and they play the best music.
A beautiful gem. The neighborhood has a lot of character and this place fits right in. Some items were a little pricey, but others were very reasonable for quality vintage items. Had an assortment of "knick knacks" as well such as old photos, postcards, and records. A great place to spend a Saturday.
Super dope assortment. If nothing else, it's always a good stroll to take when you're walking around the neighborhood. I like crate digging through their records and seeing what kind of random items they have laying around. The aesthetic of the place is dope too... Sometimes it seems a bit pricey.
The clothing selection here is great. You'll always find something quaint that jumps out at you that you can't refuse. The quality of service depends on who's working that day. The prices are very fair, and the store is decorated to be an appealing shopping environment.
First time in the area and it was a cute little shop with a fairly wide variety of vintage items to look at! Reasonably priced too considering most people try to turn a massive profit on vintage items to the point where it’s laughable-these guys don’t, thankfully!
They have a little bit of everything, which is fun. It's more vintage than thrift. They have an awesome record selection, a lot of fur coats, and soooo much jewelry! Jewelry from $1 to $200. The staff is all very friendly.
I loved it here! I'm new to thrift shopping and will definitely be coming back. They had so much here, from clothes to vintage home decor. I'm ready to see the new items they have once I go back. …
I love this place!! bought a cute suit case here. I wanted to buy almost everything there. The people who work here are really nice. They make you want to come back. Awesome place!!
Such a cool team! Lots of fun, interesting pieces with great stories. Employees are happy to share the info with you! A little pricey, but some of the selection is worth it!
I have never heard of a vintage store curating their inventory by buying mystery boxes on ebay until i heard about ashley from Pilsen Vintage. This place is trash.
Absolutely love this store! I can always find great selections of all things vintage! The staff is wonderful and always friendly! Go check them out!!!
This place was so cute! They not only have vintage clothes and shoes but also furniture and household items. Super unique and worth the visit!
PVT is a Pilsen staple! It perfectly embodies the Pilsen vibe. Unique and beautiful finds with an incredible staff- been here several times.
Not a huge selection but decently curated. The interior is charming and well-kept, and they also host community events in their space.
Such a bad experience at this store. Specially with the owner and prices being change while I was ready to pay
A good selection of items for everyone, friendly and kind store owner, and somewhat reasonable prices.
Amazing vintage thrift shop! If you’re in the area it’s a must to visit, workers are very friendly.
Prices are okay and the staff is super mega ultra friendly. There really is vintage clothing.
The staff is so nice and they have a very cool collection of items. A true Pilsen gem.
They have everything vintage at reasonable prices. Also fun to walk around and look.
Great vibes in here. Authentic and wide range of vintage clothing. Paul is the man
really cool stuff and awesome atmosphere! clothes were kind of pricey though
We needed more time to pay. They were able to hold a pair of pants for us.
Weak vintage spot with a small selection of mostly overpriced junk.
There were some nice finds, Ashley was also very courteous!
This was a cute little vintage shop in the heart of Pilsen.
Pretty interesting stuff. Can't try anything on though.
Very nice. Great stuff! Great vibes. Highly recommend!
There is little to choose from. What a disappointment.
Cute little store. Loved their vintage selection.
Cool articles of clothing but ridiculous prices.
Awesome vintage clothing and postcard selections
There are better thrift stores in Wicker Park.
Funky little spot with great vintage options!
