Consumers have choices and are sovereign. Walking into the Newtown store I was welcomed courteously by Maz and Beck whom assisted me conclusively identify options for casual footwear. I was promptly shown three varieties with my sizes and was informed about the popularity and featured of three different brands and made the a purchase. This is what customer service is all about. Keep shining and smiling for you are the front line and power behind the brand in distributing Nike, Adidas and ASICs. I felt very comfortable dealing with the staff in this store and the setting was ambient with clean sitting space to try on shoes as well as funky music in the background. Thank you for the tips on shoe cleaning and also entertaining friendly chat at checkout. What an experience! Kudos to you keep it up and I was even informed about the points system and thankfully I am a member. Keep your staff happy and your customers rewarded and you will fly far.

Bought a pair of Docs a month ago that were on sale for 69$ instead of 249$. The staff member was super nice while she assisted me finding the right size which isn't always so easy because of my wide feet along the way she and other staff members marveled at my yellow Stan Smith's that I wore that day and made compliments how great they look and later on we talked about them for a while. That's EXACTLY what people mean when they talk about that little extra plus in customer service. Great job (again), Platypus !

Tommy was a great staff!!! I stopped by after finishing work at 5pm and I would like to buy a pair of waterproofing shoes as it was raining on my way back home. I knew the shop closed at 5pm as well. Tommy was still happy even it was his home time. He helped me to get a pair of shoes with his smiles and friendly. I am extremely happy with the shoes, they were nice and very comfortable for walking and working. Big thanks Tommy for all your great services. I have had refer a few friends at work about the shoes.

Just bought a Palladium black shoes from the Platypus store in Newtown. The service was outstanding, they even helped me to contact another store for shoe sizes for my mom. I have been to other Platypus stores during my trip in Sydney, which were below par. I did not get their names, but the male staff (with some sort of afro hair haha) was super helpful and attentive. Tell me your names! Haha Anyway will be back the next time we are in Sydney. (Visited on 14 June 2023)

My friend and I visited this store a couple weeks ago, and were ignored the whole time by the staff, who were not serving other customers for the majority of our time in-store. One of the staff members kept staring at us and we felt uncomfortable. We were waiting at the door for 10 minutes while the two staff members talked amongst themselves, despite being in direct view of us. The lack of service in this store is not typical of other Platypus stores.

These criminals sold me faulty shoes and refused point-blank to give me a refund or exchange the shoes even after I showed them evidence of law requiring that they do so. I also showed them the injuries I incurred wearing the faulty Nikes. I have bought my shoes here for years - both for myself and my kids who are now grown and still buy their shoes here. Never again. They don’t allow a score of zero in this review section.

Needed a pair of black walking shoes so we decided to go to platypus Newtown, I’ve already been there a couple of times, and the service is just outstanding, The store is very clean as you enter, the staff member is Friendly, warm, Cheerful and we were showed a variety of shoes and other items they sell in the store.. I was there the other week with my daughter who was searching for a particular pair of Vans sneakers. We were served by Louie who was very cheerful and attentive. Even when he found out the store did not carry the shoes he continued to help us out to make sure we found the correct size and he even located a store that did have the stock. I really appreciated his patience and friendliness.

Make sure you get your receipt they don’t email the receipt as promised. Then if the shoe are faulty you need to contact head office in Victoria at Accent Group at platypus shoes (Australia)PTY LTD 2/64 Balmain street cremorne vic 3121 Australia Juliet w and Daniel F only work with emails 13 emails later and 21 days to get a refund.

I wasn't looking for shoes that day, casually wondered in and was my first shopping experience post lock down. Millie did an outstanding job of showing me options according to my needs. Great advice and the backstory on the brands I was considering - I walked out with a perfect pair of Palladiums. Great service.

Horrible costumer service! I bought a pair of shoes that I just tried on their absolutely dirty floor. Then when I went to take them back the next day without wearing them once they said they were second hand and I should take them to vinnys... Very rude and racist staff, I will never buy anything from there!

Friendly staff, was approached on arrival, friendly quick chat, told to just yell out if I need assistance whilst browsing, found the shoes I wanted, was quickly sat down whilst staff member grabbed my size, all was good, very happy with sale price and counter customer service. Great team and store.

I tried to change my sandals to a bigger size after using it for 1 minute at home. they said they were deteriorated because I used them more than that... I don't like to be called a liar so I will never can back to this shop. Btw, we're talking about 30$ sandals, it's just ridiculous

Refused to give me a refund on my shoes even though i had the reciept. Gave me a refund voucher instead on a reciept paper that fades, refused to even put it on a gift card. Disgusting customer service. Buy shoes from a shop that looks after its customers. Do not recommmend !

Went here on a Saturday afternoon (14/11). Waited around 10-15 minutes before being asked if I needed assistance. Finally was able to get help after going to the counter and asking for assistance. Doesn’t seem like the attendants really want to be there at all

Staff here are super friendly. It is not the largest Platypus store so don’t expect a full range you see at the mall style stores.
