When you decide to decide to eat out with the family for a special occasion the last thing you expect is for food to not be upto standards and that’s what I found at Ploy Thai being that this was my first visit to the restaurant …now I don’t know if the issue was because I went there on a weekday , cause I have been to a few restaurants that make meals better on weekends versus weekdays (different cooks or something) but honestly you should be cooking the same food no matter when Having been to a fair few Thai restaurants ,I think the atmosphere and ambience was where it should be . We ordered fried wantons and a mixed platter for entree .The fried wantons were fried crisp but the filling seemed like they had put dehydrated meat in there ,tough and hard .. The platter has spring rolls ,curry puff and two satay skewers ..the spring rolls and curry puffs were fine but the meat on the skewers again was tough ,hard and dry . We took their spicy fried rice for mains which really was spice and had flavour but quantity was not great Then came the green curry and coconut rice ..the rice was good but the green curry was a disappointment ..heaps of veggies with not as much meat but the hero of the dish ,the broth was barely there …we had to scrap the dish to get enough broth for the little rice they served To top it off we were even charged a surcharge after was 55 bucks at this place …have eaten out so many times and have never paid surcharge especially when my bill is as much as 55 bucks I for one will not visit this restaurant again as there are much much better Thai restaurants out there that take enough pride in their heritage and culture to serve up their food the way it should be with the taste as it should be

This little nondescript Thai restaurant in Werribee surprised me with its wide offerings of mind-blowing dishes. We started with the entry Fried Wonton and they got their first win. Then tea/coffee; this was a bit frustrating! Most of the tea/coffee in the menu was not available. So, we decided the one and only English Breakfast Tea and that was average. The main meals came. Pad Thai Noodle and Khao Pad Rice. They were sensational, authentic and delicious and wiped away our tea-frustration. The food was some of the best food I’ve ever had, not just in Werribee but entire Melbourne. Portions were the perfect amount. Then the desserts; Sticky Rice and Banana Pudding. Hmm good but not the surprize. The surprize was !!! (not gonna tell, you go and find out. The name is on the board as special). WOW ! the flavour was top of the top. Everything was perfection and travelled home really well. The price was a bonus too. We appreciated the sculptures and artefacts from rich Thai heritage on the walls. Restaurant was clean and tidy. Friendly and polite customer service. It was a pleasant experience, and my go to for Thai Food from now on and highly recommended.

We have eaten here since the review below and we went last night September the 3rd 2023 for fathers day and sadly our experience was not as good... our chicken satay was over cooked it was very dry and not enjoyable :-( they cost $20 for 2 serves I ordered the garlic and pepper and the beef was also tough .all other meals were good hot and fresh (last 2 photos) sadly l dont think we will be back to see if things have changed nor will our family members so hopefully someone else will upload another review after trying, the above items we love thai food, and now we are unable to reccomend to anyone :-( unlike my first review service was friendly and our waitress seemed new at the job but she tried... the restaurant was clean Restaurant was clean and food was fresh and tasty the waitress was friendly we used a Groupon voucher and was great value for money I would highly recommend ploy thai, we went on a Wednesday night and was not crowded perfect!. Compared to thailand the green curry was not as hot but had a better flavour... every dish was very enjoyable

This was a pleasant surprise. We were in the pizza place next door a few weeks ago, and we were hearing a lot of good things about this place. When we arrived, we were the first ones there, and even without a booking, they looked after us. After about 15 minutes, the place was packed, and I can see why. The atmosphere and service was wonderful. They really made sure that we were comfortable and were always smiling when they tended to us. The food was amazing. Every dish we ordered captured the original taste of Thai food that I experienced when I visited Thailand a while ago. My wife and I were surprised at the end of the night when we received our bill. We were expecting it to by a lot more given the amount of food that was served and the quality of each dish. But the value for money was fantastic! I highly recommend this place.

Green Curry Pad Thai, Rice Dish, Flat Rice Noddle with Prwan, Caramelised Banana

Avoid this place if you want to eat good Thai food. The decor and ambience are quite good but the food is not worth the price they charge. The cooking is just lazy and they don’t even try to hide it, we ordered green curry with chicken for which they charge around $17 it’s doesn’t come with rice. Had to order rice separately. The curry was bland and they had used frozen crinkle cut veggies with carrot, bean and baby corn with chicken chunks that looked pale white(refer to pics). Couldn’t taste any fish sauce, kafir lime leaves or galangal in it. The coconut white rice that we ordered separately (for $10) came in a fancy container that was like filled with 10% of rice. The rice quality was poor and wasn’t properly cooked. The waitress and the host were nice and pleasant. Their touch less POS machine wouldn’t accept phone pay but tap on with credit card worked just fine. No complementary prawn crackers unlike most thai restaurants.

Very friendly atmosphere,absolutely gorgeous decors feels like your in Thailand ,the staff are wonderful, traditional Thai cuisine with unbelievable flavors not boring flavorless Australian Thai,as expected at a popular restaurant you some times have to wait but its worth it because your getting great service & gorgeous meals,i think the prices are very reasonable ,it's my favorite place to eat now,have been there at least 20 times,it's a well known place now it gets very busy especially on weekends so make sure you ring & book,the owner is wonderful works very hard,he is also a builder so his running 2 business's unbelievable i know the restaurant inside he built himself & has actually been on frequent trips to Thailand to get all the things for the restaurant like the uniforms, cutlery,dinner wear & the decorations are all from there too, HIGHLY RECOMMENED Cheers xx :)

Service was fantastic and so was the atmosphere! While everything we ordered was palatable, unfortunately, the dishes didn't quite stand up to our expectation, which was pretty high from trying other Thai restaurants like the Taste of Thai in Thomastown or The Bankok Thai in Manor Lakes. Although the pricing justifies the current standard of the dishes, I personally feel diners like us would happily spend more for a well-prepared, high-quality meal! Nonetheless, hats off to the service staff for the incredible dining service! ❤️

Very bad experience I ordered pad thai noodles vegetables for dinner today The instructed that how i want my pad thai to be spicy and specially mentioned tofu When i got my meal back home It has really bad - no tofu at all and not all spicy rather it had some minty flavour and there were no veggies just carrots not even bell peppers i was shocked Please i advise everyone not to waste their money I don’t write reviews but today i was so angry i am sleeping with my half stomach empty i just couldn’t eat that bad food they packed for me. I will never go there again nor I recommend it to anyone. The girl at counter acted sweet but i doubt she even listened to how I wanted my pad thai i hate the fact that there was no tofu.

I ordered 1 x King prawns in curry sauce 1 x Mango chicken 1 x Pad Thai Noodle 2 x 4 Spring rolls This cost $70.21 delivered and barley fed two people. The servings we're sparce, only half full. The king prawns we're just standard small prawns you'd expect to get in fried rice. They we're tasteless and awful. The battered chicken was poor quality batter with the tiniest pieces of chicken I've ever seen. The mango sauce although sweet was like water. The curry sauce for the prawns was nice but very watery too. If I'd eaten instant two dollar noodles at least I wouldn't still be hungry. Big price for poor food. The prawns in the noodles were the same size as the so called king prawns. Don't waste your money here.

Ordered two meals and both were under filled in the container which is frustrating as you pay $15 and then another $4 for rice. I also asked for no egg as I cannot eat it however there was egg all through my meal. They apologised and brought me a replacement which was nice of them but the rice was so incredibly oily my lips and mouth were coated in it. And it was a spicy dish but it had no chilli in it.. very unhappy especially when it’s your dinner and you’re hungry.

Food was OK, but the meals were supposed ready in 30 minutes and we waited from 18:43 to 20:00 so no we were not happy people who came after us, got their meals first. I do not recommend this restaurant.Also, the ordering system is so bad, you can only order through your phone and at the end when you pay they put a fee on as well. No apologies nothing. They have BYO however only wine not beer and corkage is per person $3

Really disappointed tonight. We ordered at 5:15pm for ASAP delivery which they indicated would take 30mins. It arrived 1 hour and twenty minutes later. Food was cold. Roti bread was cold and limp. We had to microwave our food. Really disappointed tonight. We ordered direct through the store…. Not sure if their delivery driver or the store was at fault but either way made for a disappointing experience tonight.

Our go to local Thai the food is all very good but of particular note is the curry puffs, the pastry of the chicken ones is just amazing (Very buttery and flaky) and the filling of the vege ones is even better (Although its pastry is not quite up to the chicken ones). We also really enjoy the satay sticks, wonton soup, massaman curry, roti bread and spicy fried rice. All the food we have had there has been good, but these are the ones we always go back for.

I ordered food to be delivered from this place and the driver couldn't find my address and drove off, even though I'd given very clear instructions on the delivery notes. I ordered from there again and the owner of the restaurant turned up at my house to abuse me as their driver failed to find my address. Unbelievably unprofessional and aggressive way to handle the situation.

My wife and I love Ploy Thai. We have eaten there many times and also frequently get take away. The restaurant is pleasant and spacious. The food is almost always exceptional... The Massaman Curry is my wife's favourite, while I love the pineapple fried rice and chicken roti rolls. As a local family business it is well worth supporting.

Best Thai in town. Great service and Lee who works there stayed back after they closed for over an hour to look after my motorcycle while I was out with family and running late to pick up my bike. Used Groupon deal to dine here. Slow service. Owner was not there so thought it was the reason but apparently not from past reviews. Customers there were annoyed at the long wait. Could have hired more chefs & staff. Food was quite nice though. Just wish we didn't have to wait long as we had 2 toddlers.

If you want to have a meal here, please make sure you are not hungry! We have been waiting for 1.5 hours for our order, then was told we did not tell them we have finished our entree and now they can serve main. Sounds like it is my fault for the my wait!!!!!! I totally lost my appetite!!!!!!!

Wish I could give negative stars!!! Nothing to like. My food was $60 for three dishes and was meant to be delivered at 7:30. By 9pm the staff on the phone were making all the excuses possible as to why I hadn't received my food and were denying me a refund! Never had worse service in my life.

Ordered home delivery.... all containers only HALF full with food... ordered a bottle of coke and got cans instead which is fine IF it added up to 1.25litre but it didn't... feel ripped off and now after spending $75 on About $40 worth of food, I have to go out and buy more!!!! Never again!

Had green chicken curry and BBQ chicken. Food seemed fresh and tasty and full of flavour. Staff is friendly. Restaurant is neat and tidy. The service is pretty quick. Will be back. (Toilets were spotless clean)

I was having dinner with my boyfriend in Ploy Thai. Staff is very friendly, the food so delicious! Everything was just perfect, nice oriental music... I will definitely go back and tell everyone about this place. We've had green curry, beef cashew, coconut rice :)

Ordered the Chicken Roti Roll, Garlick & Cracked Black pepper beef and the chicken Pad Kee Mao. The flavours are just perfect, portions sizes are really good and really good customer service. My go to for Thai from now on and highly recommended.

We waited from 6.15 till 6.50pm to get 2 main and a dessert. I have to say this is the worse pad Thai I ever eaten in my life! It's tasteless! we order vegetarian but got chicken instead? Very very bad experience. Waste of money!

Our order took 2 hours to arrive. No communication from the restaurant. We had to hassle them a couple times for information. Spring roles arrived soggy. Hire more than one driver if your going to use that excuse.

Tastes ok but DEFINITELY NOT the best Thai take away and so heavily OVERPRICED for the volume. Not one single container was full - not even the plain rice! Delivery was supposed to be 40 mins - it took 1hr 5 mins.

I had an amazing meal at Ploy Thai. The atmosphere is amazing and the hosts were attentive, cheerful and knew their menu well. I highly recommend Ploy Thai for couples going out on dates. Reasonable prices too!

Thai food. I tried red curry this time. The coconut milk in red curry or green curry is very addictive with steamed rice as usual. I liked it. Excellent service and hospitality. Roadside parking available.

Not so authentic, tamed down for locals? . Limited fish options. No fresh fish for a start. Serves aren't big. However the best Thai option in Werribee. Quite a comprehensive menu. Starters were nice.

Top top service from staff members. Had an amazing starter dish, fried vegetables and calamari! Homemade drinks were amazing too! Will definitely be returning to try other desserts and drinks!
