I get it, were all too busy, have clients waiting, have personal issues in the back of minds and that no 2 days are the same, I get it that not everyday is perfect. Unfortunately however, PPVH has lost me as client. I have found some of the morality of staff here lack professional decency and courtesy. Here's why, during my recent experience in an effort of cancelling services all appeared to be all too traumatic an experience for the staff there. While in attempt to communicate changes to my cats needs and that I no longer required their "automated" texting services to remind me of the annual vaccination treatment I was greeted with a rushed staff member whom certainly was not very pleasant to talk with while asking if I could please be removed from this service.... Mid-Sentence I get the phone cut off without the decency of a call back or a follow up, it's like they didn't care or didn't want to know. Further, I too like other past clients of PPVH have also found their costs for basic annual treatments, boarding costs to be some 40% higher. Now like most professional people I don't mind paying good money if the services received meet a high level of standard. A recent boarding experience too was troubling to me to learn recently that my 2 year old cats 'meal options' while in boarding at PPVH was placed on a 'palliative care wet food option' for which the response was "it is normal for us to do that with stressed cats", since moving on and while discussing this matter with my new vet, i'm sorry PPVH "it's not normal". It's not that the phone was cut off or the costs are more at PPVH it's the basic decency to be honest, courteous and respectful. I have since found this in my recent move to another Vet where I found great service, cost efficiency and a professional team. A lesson can be found here PPVH.
We've been to various local vets for our poodle, Gaston, and they have been good but then we found Potts Point Veterinary Hospital - honestly they have to be one of the very best vet practices in Australia! The staff - Dr Miriam Meek and her staff - are always super friendly and very sympathetic and let you take whatever time you need for a visit. No pressure to fit into the time slot of a visit usually allotted by vets. And the staff interacts very warmly with your animal - they take the time to cuddle and pet our Gaston to make him feel comfortable going to the vet. Ii particularly like that the practice is on top of the latest developments in a range of ares, like the need now for an annual Leptospirosis shot and booster. The hours are so customer friendly - extended and varied hours over the days of the week and week-end, with some evenings to suit people’s working days. Another thing which makes the practice so good is that they alert you for annual visits, when medications are needed and so on, so you don’t need to monitor these things yourself. The practice is up on the latest developments and keep you informed about them, alerting us for example to a newly released anti flea and tick medication that lasts three months. The pricing of services is mid range, which to me means properly reasonable. I don’t want to go somewhere touting for business with the cheapest invoicing. I feel so confident about Potts Point Veterinary Hospital I can’t recommend them highly enough! And I wish them the very best for the future.
Unfortunately didnt have a good experience- the only reason they get two stars is because Sebastians service on reception is fantastic and he is incredibly helpful with any customer. Crystal and Grace where also lovely. From the get go though there was constant mixed communication from management and im shocked to be told I could pay at the end and then sent a rude email from Claire demanding i make payment next time im in the practice after addressing concerns about their boarding which she put down to feeling I “didnt have a financial history” im a younger customer (but not that young) and its obvious this was a judgement made based off my age. When I mentioned that I was offended by this I received no apology or acknowledgment from Claire and it was put down to “a communication breakdown” yet if they didnt mean it would at least apologise? I then had them try guilt trip me that it was “upsetting for them too” Claire also tells people reviews are bias and one sided when I noticed patterns from reviews myself. She just denies everything. Clearly management only care about more senior customers who look like they have money and if you’re a younger customer they dont care for your business with them. I pulled my cat out of boarding as they where so overpriced anyway and im not paying $320 a week for a bad attitude.
We've been going to Potts Point Vet for about a year now. Our previous vets were very nice, but not very knowledgeable and kind of haphazard with keeping detailed records of what occurred at each visit. Recently, our 10 month old Pomeranian was hit by a car and had his hip crushed into three pieces. I hope no one else has to experience such a horrendous accident. When we arrived with our puppy, they immediate gave him priority attention (my apologies to other people who had bookings and were waiting patiently). The accident occurred on the weekend, to make things worse. Needless to say, Miriam and her team performed the surgery on a Sunday without hesitation and worked very hard to minimize the cost for us. We've required countless post operation visits and they have not charged us for any of them, which is so thoughtful and generous of them. They've also called every couple of days to check on the progress of our dog. We're so thankful to all the staff there for taking care of our dog and especially thankful for helping to sort out the insurance (they've been such a pain, trying to delay processing the claim). Thank you so much, especially Miriam, Kristie, Lauren and Emily! I wouldn't take our dog anywhere else.
My whole experience at this vet has been an absolute disgrace and appalling. I have spent 1000’s of dollars on my French Bulldog with a common ear infection from what I now know after seeking advice from an incredible vet. Over a period of 12 months they have milked me out of thousands of dollars, numerous tests done on my poor dog (which were painful) and all to just receive a numerous consult fees and no diagnosis. I strongly recommend that anyone who cares for the health and well-being of their fur baby to never go to this vet. As not only will you be out of pocket, but your pet will receive the worst care. The vets at this clinic only care about the money and not the health and well-being of your pet. I am never usually one to complain but after the experience I’ve had I feel it is only right to let everyone know how this business operates.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED My beloved English Cocker Spaniel had seen a raft of Vets previously, and we could never get rid of the ongoing ear infections that plague this breed. Miriam and her wonderful team have worked with us, called us to check up on our progress and provided the best care I have experienced and seen given to my furry best friend. Top score for experience and knowledge to get my Georgie well again. The love, respect and care is top class, and I thank the team and will always recommend them to all. Thanks Miriam and the fantastic team at Potts Point Veterinarian Hospital.
Turned up on Sunday morning with our dog in acute pain from an ear infection. He’d been up all night and was in clear distress - whining and shaking his head. We didn’t have an appointment and literally begged the nurse for a 2-5min consultation - so we could get a script for pain relief and some ear drops. With absolutely no empathy and a completely cold attitude - she said we can’t see him for two days - fully booked. This place has a terrible culture and vibe - clearly not a vet that loves or really cares for animals. We’ll be steering clear - there’s plenty more kind and welcoming vets nearby.
Highly recommend, we wouldn’t take our fur babies anywhere else. Recently, our cat swallowed something she shouldn’t have and the team squeezed us in as an emergency…in fact they were prepped and waiting for our arrival! We discussed our options and potential outcomes while they started with the least invasive option, which fortunately worked. Miriam and her team provide excellent care for their patients and their families…reasonably priced with a cat specific consult room, it’s well worth the trip from the Inner West!
Potts Point Vet has been the only go to vet for our cats since they opened. We had two aging girls for which they provided exceptional care as they became fraile, infirmed and died. We then had a rescue foster cat for 18 months that they helped resolve serious dental issues. And now our two new kittens will be in their care. Only today we had a scare with the boy that they were able resolve at very short notice. We struggle to find words to commend them highly enough for their professionalism, advice and care.
Miriam and the team at PPVH are the best. Caring, and located in the best modern vet facilities you could ever wish for. My 16 year old cat always received the best of treatment until he finally succumbed to CKD, and he had a good and happy quality of life for around 18 months after he was first diagnosed with the fatal condition. When the time came to finally say goodbye the team at PPVH were able to make it as least painful as possible for both the cat and myself and took care of everything.
We recently relocated to Potts Point from Canada with Teddy our Shiba Inu X. We feel very fortunate to have an amazing Vet Hospital just a short walk from our new home. The staff at the clinic are professional caring and friendly. We had all Teddy's files transferred from Canada and the staff had him integrated into the system immediately. I would highly recommend the clinic and their top notch services to all of our friends. Teddy loves his new home in Sydney!
This is truly one of the best vets I have ever been to! The staff is very nice, caring, and they do a great job caring for our kitten. They are all experienced, have top notch facilities, processes, and effective ways of solving any illness or issue that comes up with my kitten. They always go above and beyond to answer our questions graciously and we genuinely feel as if we have found the . perfect neighbourhood home for our fur family!
Dr Miriam and the Team at Potts Point Vet Hospital are fantastic. Henry the Whippet gets the best care and attention and thoroughly recommends them - his tail continues to wag every time he sees Mim! The new location is fantastic - it's easy to park at the Kings Cross Car Park (free for an hour, always lots of space) and there's a great cafe a few doors down from the Vet to get a coffee if you're waiting.
I can't gush enough about Potts Point Veterinary Hospital! Dr Miriam, Dr Kate and the rest of the staff were absolutely amazing with our elderly cat. The clinic is state-of-the-art, the staff are kind, patient, and professional, and the care provided to the animals is second to none! Just wonderful people who really understand what it means to love an animal companion wholeheartedly. Thank you PPVH!
Potts Point Vet handled last year’s pandemic issues in a professional manner, always putting the health of their clients as their priority. It was great to see that people are now allowed back into the premises. We have always found the team to be friendly, knowledgeable, welcoming and we always know that we can trust them in regards to our dog’s health and well being.
Dr Miriam Meek looked after our beloved cat for 14 years. Sadly, we said goodbye to her 4 years ago. Recently i took one of our Rose Bay Garden chooks to her - and our fluffy hen was treated with the same dignity and respect shown to our previous cat. Utmost respect for Miriam and her Team
I have been taking my puppy to this exceptional practice for almost 1.5 years and the entire team at Potts Point Vet should be commended. Miriam and Katie are always so informative and demonstrate a personal level of care. If you're looking for a reliable practice, look no further! :)
Wonderful care shown towards our girl Miso who unfortunately passed away from lymphoma. I appreciated the staff being gentle but also honest each step of the way, and feel safe and confident with this being our vet clinic for our other two cats. Thank you x
I am not a client of the Potts Point Vet clinic, but I wanted to share that this poor dog was left in a Potts Point Vet vehicle for over 45 minutes on a 30 degree day, whimpering and scratching to get out. Passers-by called the police.
The staff at Potts Point vet are very friendly, work together as a team and handle the animals well. My Labrador retriever has no apprehension when we visit and is happy during the consultation. They are also great with follow ups.
Always friendly, patient, thorough when dealing with my fur baby. I always feel that he is in safe and very competent hands. The follow up after care and telephone checkups following major procedures is very reassuring.
Took Teddy in and received great service from the staff who were very accommodating, the vet kindly followed up to check in on Teddy’s health which she did not have to. Can’t rate highly enough.
This one of the best Vets I have been to. Vet Ann is excellent and I am always very well informed and happy with my dogs treatment. The staff are excellent and I could not recommend them more
Miriam, Kate and Anne; such lovely people with enormous love and care for pets who they treat as their own. Never “oversell” treatment. You couldn’t find better vetinary services!
We dealt with Claire and her team. They are extremely helpful and friendly. Very reliable and always responsive. Highly recommend for any animal parent. 7 stars!
We've had two appointments here for our puppy vaccinations and cannot rate the experience more highly. The vets really know how to add value!
Wonderful experience here today with Dr Anne for my beloved cat Mr Bits. Perceptive, kind, practical, expert. Highly recommended
Dr Miriam and her incredible team are to be congratulated on their dedicated excellence in looking after our precious boy.
Great opening hours and have always taken the up most care of our pups
