If you live or work near New York’s Columbia Presbyterian Hospital, the New York State Psychiatric Institute or happen you be coming for a visit or doctor’s appointment, I have wonderful news to share! The Prestige Cafe and Deli located on Fort Washington Avenue , near the corner of169th Street, has exceptionally delicious breakfasts, lunches and dinners. Their staff and owner, BJ, are wonderfully caring and empathetic to their customers and they are open 24 hours a day! I’ve become a loyal customer over the last few months and I’ve been very impressed with their delicious sandwiches and wonderful take out meals. In addition to their phenomenal selection of prepared paninis and other foods, they also have all kinds of grocery items in case you want to stock up on your way home! There aren’t a lot of places to get reasonably priced meals that are also high quality within steps of the Columbia Hospital complex. I’m so grateful that I discovered Prestige Cafe. They are great at catering and are happy to deliver! Their menu is on their website and it’s very impressive!

pretty sad excuse for a nyc deli. the food prep looks amazing from the window but when you get a sandwich is underwhelming and over priced. i tried getting a BLT here on two separate occasions and both times i felt like the sandwich lacked the proper substance of a 7/8 dollar roll or hero. considering a BLT is just three ingridients plus mayo should make it easy enough to execute especially at a price range that matches sandwiches with cheese topping sliced meats, i'm reluctant to come here. yea the staff is nice but it's evident, given the type of snacks and price ranges, they're serving the inherited wealth yuppies from columbia and not the actual residents of the neighborhood.

I have been going here to get coffee orders for my coworkers and I love how the prices are fairly cheap compared to other stores. The sandwiches aren't the best because they add little ingredients. For example a baconeggandcheese, they would add little bacon and eggs and it wouldn't really fill you up. Same thing if you ask for a wrap, feels like the quantity is small. The place is also a bit small so if there is more than 5 customers it starts to feel packed. Other than that the people who work there are nice and the owner is the nicest.

Service is terrible. I purchased a plain parfait and i asked if they had any nuts to go with the parfait cause they usually have nuts with the parfait but the cashier gave me an attitude in front of another customer. Store always taxing for all their food before inflation started. You buy food you get taxed, use your debit or credit you get taxed, and charge you grocery bag. No spanish grocery stores in the neighborhood tax their food or charge for a bag. That's why don't sell beer or cigarettes cause they can't tax it. Store takes advantage of this cause they the only deli on Fort Washington and cause the hospital is down the block from them.

Lots of options here. I used to go every day for a sandwich or salad. The family that owns the place and the cooks are nice, but I'll never go back. One day the cashier asked me what I got and I forgot to mention onions on my sandwich. She rung me up THEN asked the cook to confirm. She got visibly upset, stepped down from behind the counter into the crowd of 5 people waiting to pay, shoved the sandwich in my hands and said "next time, the onions are 10 cents extra." Before I could even process what happened, she was talking to the next customer. For an honest mistake and 10 cents, she took it way too far.

Let me be clear: this is one of the best delis in New York. However, they have a new nighttime guy that adds random charges to every bill. I get the same order all the time and it’s $12 higher when he’s behind the register, and he refuses to explain to the 8 lines he rang in when you only got 4 things. When he’s working, I will bring my business elsewhere. If the business checks this: FIRE HIM. I’ve lived here 6 years and he is very new and nighttime online.

The chopped cheese is one of the worst I’ve ever had. They didn’t even chop the cheese. Just laid it on top of the meat, and it didn’t melt. I think it was like $8 on a roll, which is way overpriced compared to my usual spot. I’m only giving it that second star bc the people who work there are good to customers.

The food is excellent and the fresh juices and smoothies are great But the customer service is very poor ,the lady that is at the front desk is rude and does not know how to talk to customers and she does hear well becuz she keeps asking to repeat the orders she needs to be retrained and teach her phone etiquette it is essential when you are speaking to customers on the phone and crutial for your business......

Food was surprisingly good. Stopped in for quick bite between medical appts at Columbia Presbyterian. It's bodega so I wasnt expecting much. Nice size panini (Chicken chipotle) and good value. Seating was close quarters put that was to be expected in a bodega. Also had a portion of falafel. Best I've had in a while. Not greasy or overwhelmingly spiced so you taste it in a burp hours later. Nice impromptu find.

Prestige is clutch. They were open on Christmas when I needed them. Good snacks and good food. The paninis go hard and the burger/fries and a drink deal is excellent.

Nice place but ridiculously overpriced. Everything is $1 to $5 dollars above market price. I noticed they give a nice discount to Columbia Hospital staff, so they probably raise their prices to make up for it. Its a nice convenient spot when I don’t wanna walk 5 blocks to another deli. Other than that, the food is good and the place is clean.

Great spot for deli favorites and specialty snacks. It's always worth a look around to see what new items are in stock!

This is my quick lunch spot. The cooks are fast and always willing to adjust your order. I never have to wait long and during the lunch hour, most businesses in the neighborhood get very busy. They've got a refrigerator filled with some of the healthiest drinks I've ever seen. One day I tried kombucha and haven't stopped. Great spot!

The deli is alright. Some of their sandwiches are pretty decent and they have a great selection of snacks and drinks. Unfortunately they ell expired products so make sure you check the dates. I accidentally bought some chocolate that expired 3 months ago today. Todays date is 11/18/22 for reference.

Dishonest establishment. Paid $3 by accident for a $2 item as the bills were stuck together. The clerk hesitated but said nothing and took my extra money. I said nothing and let him take my extra dollar and never returned. If they are dishonest like that it’s not worth me returning.

This is an excellent deli and a place to grab lunch. Full salad bar and chicken and vegetables to pick from when they make your sandwich/panini/burger. Staff is quick, efficit, and friendly. They even have a small spot in the back and eat quickly if you're in a rush.

I was there today at 10:30 a.m. The cashier is behaving very arrogantly and being rude. She doesn't even ask basic things like if I need a bag or napkins. The service is appalling

Overpriced, recently changed owners poor food quality. Updated as of February 2019 the place have new owner again for a little while, food quality change for the better, still overpriced, I changed my rating to 3 stars.

Decent place to grab a quick bite if you are at Presbyterian. Good selection of sandwiches. Staff is friendly, wasn't the cleanest place and the sandwiches are premade which is why I knocked it down a couple of stars

This place is alright but sketch AF sometimes. Like somedays you'll check out normally and the next you'll get charged sales tax on your grocery items. The price always changes depending on who's working too.

People here treat u like family members. If u need something n it's any dish that u can't find they can make it for u. Its gr8 to have a location that not only cares about who u r n also remembers who u r !

THE GUY AT NIGHT WILL RIP YOU OFF. He will charge double for all the items and will charge tip when you don't realize it. He especially goes after young students, or people new to the area. Please be aware.

Ridiculous prices. $4.50 for a large water. Old air dried cheese on sandwiches. 25 cents for a bag? They take advantage that they are the only deli around. Horrible, avoid and go to another deli.

Certain items are just overpriced. One of the cashiers has a bad attitude which could have been a better experience.

Prices on everything are different depending on who’s working. Salads are the only thing here worth the value. Literally everything else is marked up twice the cost for no reason.

I went to this deli for the very first time and I was surprise that they had so many options to choose from. They really have great salad which I really enjoy and ate all.

They always have the lemon frosted muffins and bread toasted with butter! Gives me the boost I need during the late nights.

Alot of options on this deli ,very clean, friendly staff only that it could a bit pricey but hey that's the new York life.
