Be wary of hidden surgical expenses that are not disclosed upfront ! Being a strong advocate of trap, nueter and return of homeless animals, we attempted to find a budget vet to organise a number of stray cats to be desexed. We eventually decided upon using Princess Highway Vet at Kogarah, mainly because of the quoted low cost of desexing, as well as the close proximity to the cat colony. Although the surgery went well, we were slapped with a substantial additional "On Heat" charge which priced the surgery significantly higher than most of the other local vets. (Including our regular vet which we use for our own pets). This was after insisting and verifying over the phone that there would be no additional costs that would or could be charged. (such as post op stitch removal, follow up appointments, etc). Had we been made aware of the additional charge upfront, it would have been highly unlikely that we would have employed the services of this vet, As the additional charge made the surgery one if the most expensive vets in the area. Our second chouce of vet clearly stated that there could be an additional "On Heat" charge, and that based on the cats age, it would be most likely that this charge would be incurred. Overall I feel Princess Highway Vet used the extremely dodgy practice of baiting customers by not disclosing hidden or potential fees, as a means of drawing susceptible customers away from other honest veterinarians. In such situations, I feel most pet owners would simply pay any additional undisclosed fees and charges, as any typical vet visit is stressful enough for owners and pets, without the added stress of defending themselves against an unfair bill. I feel that Princess Highway Vet simply took / takes advantage of such situations simply because they can, allowing such dodgy practices lto better serve their bottom line and profits. My most sincerest advise to anyone that uses this vet, Be sure to get any quoted veterinary proceedures in writing first, before agreeing to any surgery, so as you have some documentation to help you dispute such dodgy practices if used against you and your pet.

We used to take our cats to this vet all the time, my cat had a cloudy and bulgy eye, they told us not to worry about it to much and if we were worried about it to go to an eye specialist, now anyone knows how much they would cost, I then decided to take my cat to a different vet and they looked at his eye and told us exactly what we needed to hear, they said he had glaucoma and possibly a cataract, but unfortunately these vets that we took him too didn’t figure that out before hand, the new vets that we took him to gave us medication to give to him and a full proper check up. They then told us everything we need to know about the eye condition and were more than happy to help out with his condition. I am actually quite disappointed in the service that was given to our cats as this issue could have been resolved much earlier if they had given the time of day to care especially since it was an older cat and it could have been avoided earlier.

Worst experience ever, At first, disorderly they did not know what I was going to when I had already made an appointment, the vet was dismissive, and arrogant, she did not even say hello, she only asked if my dog had fasted and if I had made an appointment, then they called me that they believed that my dog reacted badly to the anesthesia, the pressure increased... the worst possible customer service continue... we went to pick him up and again she neither greeted nor said that it had happened, only that he was very sleepy, they did not want to give my doggo to me immediately and I said that I took him. They handed me my dog with his tongue out, his eyes open, crying, not moving, zero tact for the owners, zero responsibility, an arrogant person who does not know how to be a person. A bad person will never be a good professional.

Princes Highway Vets consistently go above and beyond for us and our team cannot praise them highly enough. The level of service and professionalism given is really second to none and we have never been hit by any hidden charges - all rates given have been upfront and all more than reasonable. Our kittens in care are found on the streets and we sometimes have compromised kittens that require dedicated veterinary support. The team at Princes Highway Vets has often stayed open late for us to enable us to get the sick kitten to them showing us how much they care for the welfare of all animals. The professionalism and level of expertise is of the highest calibre. On top of this the staff are friendly, approachable and extremely understanding. Our team totally recommends Princes Highway Vets to everyone.

St George Vets/ Princes Highway Vet is one of several vets I’ve taken my cats to, but this one is the one I keep coming back to. The receptionists are amazing front of practice. They honestly care about every pet and make sure to get your animal care as urgently as possible. They are so personable and are extremely knowledgeable about animal care. The vets are incredible too and they truly take the time to get to know your pet and their ongoing needs. They are not judgemental and they understand that everyone is doing the best they can. My personal favourite…they’re also not going to rip you off. They only suggest the treatment that your pet needs so you don’t leave the place broke P.S Nancy is the best receptionist!!

Unsympathetic and uncaring. When you specifically call ahead to ask questions in when payment is made. You're assured it is done before the procedure of the euthanizing a 17 year old dog. As you know your partner will be heart broken after the dog passes. I specifically called and said that can they prompt him to do payment as he will not be thinking properly. The girl replied said that is normally how it is done. Beforehand. What annoyed me is the fact, that payment was asked afterwards, then there was a glitch and delay which caused my partner to stand there until they worked it out. It could of been dealt differently. When it comes to euthanasia and saying good bye to pets, payments should and must be done prior.

This hospital is so bad. They aren’t responsible for what they do. They don’t explain and give me any advice or ways to solve the problem.I brought my cat to here for grooming yesterday at 4pm. But I don’t know what did they do with his nails. I picked him up at 7pm. His foots were bled badly in 5 hours, I can’t stop it. They knew about it but they didn’t tell me. Then I brought him to hospital in Homebush at 1 am to stop blood bleeding. And this morning I came this vet to complain about that. But they blamed me for not reporting to them what happened. How can I do because they closed at 7pm and they didn’t give me something like emergency numbers, doctor’s number if something happenes. Too bad!!

I recently transferred to St George Vet from another vet in the area after my dog was diagnosed with Inflammatory Bowel Disease after a week long stay at the emergency vet. (My previous vet sadly did not pick this up). The staff at SGV are do friendly and caring and Dr Pauline Phan is absolutely amazing. My dog Loki is normally quiet anxious at the vet but within minutes he was lying down comfortably and allowing Dr Pauline to examine him with ease. She also put me at ease and answered all of my concerns and needs. I was recommended by a friend and am eternally grateful to have found such a caring and amazing vet close to home.

Prophets not animal care I got a person to come with a van and checked over my dog I couldn't get an appointment I was necessary for me I'll never go to another vet I'm not saying his vets bad or good or nature the nature is my dog got looked after on the day I had I free hey that's a two busy we booking thank you nature of the animal everything it's unfair well I try the book my dog in and I said three and a half weeks away well just for a syringe it takes five seconds wow anyway people come to my house for the bus charge we have other prize no resets and I got what I wanted after Christ thank you very much

I own two West Highland White Terriers and rate this clinic so highly that I continue to use them exclusively despite now living 10 km away. Dr Shelton Smith has provided the highest level of care and advice - not just in terms of treatment but also preventative care. He has also been able to identify underlying issues with the dogs that were not readily apparent - coming up with successful treatment options that certainly alleviated problems and added to their quality of life. The staff here are very friendly and are clearly animal lovers. I can't recommend this place highly enough

We have been taking our dear dog Molly to Dr Ben and his highly professional team for nearly 14 years and we have the utmost praise for the service they provide. We recently lost our dog - however the in the days leading up to her death Ben and his team were such a source of comfort to our family. Had my little Lulu's crucial ligament done 6 weeks ago Ben was amazing the stitching and everything else he did that I did not think off ( too stressed) while she was under anesthetic .. the care and understanding is wonderful .. been going to him now for a few years ..been to quite a few other vets as Lulu is 10 ..Would recommend Ben to anyone who wants a caring, competent and fantastic vet who is reasonable in pricing... St Georges Veterinary Hospital has treated my husband and I and our puppy Selah with the utmost care since our very first appointment. - Very easy to book appointments. - Prices comparable if not better than other local vets. - We also enrolled Selah in puppy school here too! Which she loved and also made it easier to bring her back for ongoing appointments because she was familiar with the location. In conclusion, highly recommend!

Of course my cats don't like going to the vet but they are guaranteed to be looked after whenever we visit and board with them for holidays. Today was my first time visiting Princesss Hwy Vet for my JRT baby who had a mild allergy reaction. Dr Louise Dawson was very lovely and treated my dog with so much love and energy. Eventhough busy everyone was very friendly. I visited during weekday so didn't have to wait. This will definitely by my regular vet from now on.

Wonderful Vets and staff. Tried several before I found the Princes Highway Vet Hospital in the early 2000s and have never left. Very kind with the animals, efficient and has empathy.... I've grown up with dogs and cats and show horses so I do understand what is needed in a vet and I'm not moving!!!!

We recently took our 9 year old Russian Blue to be operated on. She was attacked by one of our other cats. The vets at kogarah did an awesome job fixing her up and looking after her for a few days. We will definitely be going back there for all our cats. Previous vet too far and too expensive

Our dog was unwell suddenly on a Sunday and we got an appointment within an hour and a half - saving us a wait at an emergency vet hospital. All staff were very friendly and helpful and explained everything well. They cared which means a lot! Would highly recommend!
