Sunday, April 19, 2020 I have been living in Harlem since 1960. A lot of changes have taken place in Harlem since then. Some of the many changes are more obvious than others. But something that thankfully has not changed, is that there are still many really GREAT businesses here, like Pro Tech Locksmiths! On April 17, I needed a defective lock replaced on my front door. I was feeling very stressed about that, as it has been many years since I last needing to do anything like that. I searched Google for "locksmith, Harlem", and the ad for Pro Tech caught my eye. As soon as I could leave my job for the day, I got my train and went straight to their store. I wish I got the name of the lady at their counter. If I did, I would definitely type it into this review! She was so pleasant and helpful. When she told me the total price of the work I wanted done, I left a deposit with her, then went home to wait for a Locksmith to arrive. In less than half an hour, a gentleman named Steve arrived at my front door. He did an amazing job of very swiftly removing the old, broken down lock, and installing a new one! I paid Steve the remaining balance, and immediately my home felt very secure again. I VERY STRONGLY URGE YOU TO CHOOSE PRO-TECH FOR ALL OF YOUR LOCKSMITH, HARDWARE, AND HOME IMPROVEMENT NEEDS!!!

I locked myself out of my bedroom Sunday morning and didn't have much time because I had to be somewhere. I called the store and they connected me to locksmith Gordon Adam. He came within 30min. The lock was very secure so he had to drill through, but he replaced with a brand new lock within minutes and all for a very reasonable price. Keep a spare key hidden outside of the room somewhere, but get Gordon to help you if you should ever need a locksmith.

I had to reinstall three of the four locks that they installed. Technician did not read directions, or even use all the parts that came with the locks. Additionally, did not sufficiently chisel out cavities for bolts and latches, had to redo that myself as well. Had used them before to re-key existing locks and they did that fine. Would absolutely NOT recommend them for new hardware installation.

I called Pro-Tech when the latch on the old lock of our front door started sticking and became difficult to open, creating concerns that we could be trapped inside. They came out very quickly and installed a new lock body within the hour. Very reasonable rates and professional service. Highly recommend.

Steve was absolutely amazing. Not only was he quick with the entire process, but he was also funny and relatable the entire time! One of the friendliest and most professional people I've ever met, who also does amazing work to back it up!

Do not go. Charged me 10 dollars to copy a key. I asked them how much and they just started working on it before answering. Do not go. I should've done walked away when they gave me the price. You can get it for a lot less else where

I work for a large management, I have been coming to Steve for years, never a incorrect key, he cut your keys once and you never have to come back for an adjustment unlike some of the larger companies always great service.

The women at the store over charge to copy a key. Sold me a FOD key and did not have the mean of program it. She refused to provide a refund or store credit. Stay away from this store. The lady was very rude.

i called the Pro Tech locksmith late at night and they shown up imminently, and solved the issued very fast. i will defiantly use them again!

Only good for regular locks, not experienced in building electrical/magnetic door locks. But have all the other needs.
