Two days ago, I went on Google to search for the best Dentist around the Soweto area and I came across a couple of links, and instantly noticed that one of the Dentist's location is literally 2 kilometers from where I reside. So seeing that this dental clinic is around the corner, I clicked on that specific link and an image of an impeccably clean, beautifully furnished dentist's room appeared on my screen, and with a caption below it, which read "Protea Dental & Braces - Dr Faaraz Mathir". And as immaculately clean and astonishingly looking the room on the photo was, I still couldn't help but to outrageously suspect that the picture was bogus or sourced elsewhere and that the image I was viewing was not a true reflection of the clinic. I also noticed that there were reviews from previous visitors underneath the photo, so naturally, I curiously browsed through and sceptically read some of the reviews. And what was suprisingly apparent is how all the reviews were excellently rated, with 5 stars on a majority of them and there was also a coherent, sincere acknowledgement of excellent service and great emphasis placed on customer satisfaction. And that's the moment I thought to myself "This is too good to be true". However, my scepticism did not deter me from visiting Dr Faraaz Mathir Dental Clinic, if anything, it fuelled me with zeal and eager to confirm for myself whether all these amazing things that are said on the reviews are true. So yesterday (23 March 2021) around 9am, I called the dental clinic and a lady with a friendly, pleasant voice answered the phone and booked me for an appointment for the next day. And the moment I arrived, I was prompted to fill in some paper work for medical aid purposes and soon after that daunting exercise, a gentleman with a delightful voice keenly approached me (And I could tell he wore a smile underneath his face mask) and asked to see me in the room next to the reception area and even politely complemented my shoes as I was walking in and promptly asked me to watch my step as I entered the room. And upon my entry, the first thing I noticed is that the room I saw on the internet photo completely matched the one I had just entered. And again, I was profoundly astonished buy the cleanliness, especially now that I was physically inside the room. He offered me a chair and we began engaging with each other as if we've known one another for years. That really put me at ease and my fear of visiting the dentist immediately subsided and I expressed to him how I needed to be assisted and he also articulated how the entire process will go and exactly what I should expect. Through out the entire process, he consistently kept checking if I was still okay and comfortable. When we were done with the wash, he handed me a small mirror and I was profoundly impressed by his work and I am definitely visiting him again in the next 6 months. If you too are looking for the best dental clinic, with excellent service, look no further than Dr Faraaz Mathir. He definitely comes highly recommended.

When I came across Dr Mathir practice, it was just one of those where I had moved to a new place and was in search for a Dentist nearby, little did I know I was making the best choice of my life. Long story short, I thought I was allergic to "adrenaline" in the anesthetic because of a bad encounter I had in 2016 and what I was told by another Dr. I lived with the horrifying thought until I met Dr Mathir, who convinced me otherwise. I had to have an extraction done, it was smooth, painless and guess what?? No "adrenaline" arllegy Also, the way in which Dr Mathir communicates with you and discusses procedures with you, you know you're safe in his hands. For those of you who thought dentists are the worst or even dental procedures... You haven't met this pro - try him, I callenge you to just take that leap of faith, you will never look back!

Wow…just wow I don’t even have words to describe this doctor. I have had the best experience with him especially after all the dentists I’ve been through. I came through to his practice with a disaster for a mouth, I literally had nightmares he’d say it’s the worst his seen. I got there and he calmed me down examined me and told all that will need to happen. I had to have 4 root canals done and crowns on top of that…I also have a tooth me and doc have dubbed the devil tooth. He go got me through all the procedures in a calm and professional manner and asks you time and time again if you still ok. He called every couple of days to check how I have been (devil tooth has been hell) he really cares about his patients, and gives you sound advice. If you need a dentist, I would really, really recommend Dr Mathir.

This was my first ever tooth extraction. I'm shocked I didn't have nightmares the night before, that's just how bad I'm scared of such procedures and the anticipated pain. But you know what? It wasn't bad at all! If I had to put the pain on a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being kill me now I'm ready to die! I'd say the pain was below 1, let's say 0.2. Could've possibly only been in my head. I would recommend this place to anyone, any day! I would definitely go back here, and wouldn't even want to give another place a try, I mean why risk it? Thank you so much Dr.

A month ago my mom had a horrible toothache, I went onto google for Dentists near me and this one had the most, and best reviews. I phoned in, the DR was about to leave but said if I come quickly he can squeeze my mom in. Long story short, she had the BEST experience from the lady at reception to the Doc himself. Thank you for all that you do, truly appreciated. She will be coming back for a filling this time.

I was just there today to extract a piece of tooth left behind by another Dentist and I wont lie he is the best hardly 10 minutes we were done. It was my first consultation my teeth had lots of stains, I was not so sure that I would get help, but after the cleaning of my teeth All stain are gone, I love my teeth more I can proudly smile now. I am not satisfied with my false tooth. I know false teeth are not meant to be perfect but mine is a clear false. I can't even smile because the wires are clearly showing and my tooth looks so fake because they added some mini gum line I didn't ask for.

Received great service from Dr Faraaz. I had a tooth extraction and did not feel a thing. The doctor also ensures that he gives all the relevant options for the dental issue experienced.

Overall the experience to the Dentist was a fantastic one. It isn't usually the case however Dr Faraaz and his staff go out of their way to provide the best treatment for their patients.
