We attended our grandson's high school graduation event, which was well attended. The queues were intimidating as the attendees were either lost or misdirected, switching from queue to queue, all of which was made complicated by the lack of staff direction and/or signage. The entrance is impressive, while the labrynith of passage ways got confusing. We found the screening process a bit extreme, which slowed down our entry considerably. Passing through the metal detector, we both "beeped," resulting in our being scanned. Despite advising the staffers, we have metal parts throughout our bodies. Frankly, aging sucks, but alas, that is an aside. We finally got to our assigned seats, which thankfully were shaded from the intense western sunlight. The stairways are quite steep and frankly hazardous for the seasoned guests. Once the program started, the biggest irritation was the sound system. Transmission delays lacked syncing with the visuals. The audio quality was rough. I wondered if there was anyone behind a mixing board. And because the audio was so poor, we missed out on several key speeches by several graduating seniors. We concluded that coming back to watch the Thorns or Timbers play, we would best enjoy being out from under the concrete eaves, which, in part, contributed to the poor sound quality. The venue is easily accessed by the light rail, which depends on where you live to access a metro station. The entry's facade has some curious photos on display. We found the look to be menacing but decided that in the context of competitive sports, the axe and chain saws made sense. Be prepared financially by bringing oodles of cash to afford the insanely overpriced goodies and maybe a seat cushion with lumbar support to lend comfort on your visit. In two words: claustrophobic, vertigo

It's been a few years since I have been back to Portland and the stadium has changed so much, and for the better! Despite thousands of people streaming in, we were able to get to our gate and info the stadium without stopping. Restrooms were clean and had a decent number of stalls, but really could have used a second set of doors as things got quite cramped getting in and out. Loved the easy to use bottle fillers around the park as it was a warm day. I'm a rather large guy and was apprehensive about the seats, but they were plenty big. Really my only complaint is that I had the sun right in my eyes for the first twenty minutes of the game, but I don't know what they could really do about that. It's down to poor initial stadium design and there's not much the updates could do about that. Overall, it was a great experience. And the Timbers won!

Five star experience. I'm so obsessed with going to Timbers and Thorns games. They are so much fun. If you go you can bring an empty water bottle or see through bag so you can carry your keys or phone. Timbers and Thorns army, or near the army are the seats that are the best. They cheer the most and it makes you cheer louder and with them. OH AND YOU HAVE TO HAVE A SCARF!!! I won filed tickets seats 97 and 98... Those tickets are literally unbelievable they are so close (obviously) and they are all inclusive. Like for real. Not a bad price if you go on #seatgeek We were randomly picked to watch practice and get autographs, so appreciative!!! So much fun. I will def be going again and again... I mean I'm going this Saturday :) Next season I will be getting season tickets, soccer games are a blast!

Providence Park is a fantastic stadium located in the heart of downtown Portland and is home to both the Portland Timbers and Portland Thorns FC soccer teams. The stadium has a great atmosphere, and the fans are passionate and enthusiastic, and the quality of play is top-notch.. The stadium has been recently renovated and now boasts some of the best fan amenities in the country, including plenty of food and drink options. NOTE: if you are going to an evening game, get your food early. There's not much left by halftime. It's okay to bring a water bottle especially for the summer games. Overall, Providence Park is a must-visit destination. Whether you're a die-hard soccer fan or just looking for a fun night out, Providence Park and the Timbers and Thorns won't disappoint!

  • Andrew Melville

Providence Park provides an unparalleled experience, especially on nights like tonight when the Portland Timbers defeated Real Salt Lake City. The stadium itself is a blend of historic charm and modern amenities, but what truly sets it apart is the electrifying atmosphere fueled by devoted fans. It's more than just a game here; it's a communal celebration of city and sport. If you want to feel the pulse of Portland and experience soccer at its most passionate, a game at Providence Park is an absolute must. Tonight’s win will surely be a cherished memory, echoing in these hallowed grounds for years.

Pros: It's great for the fan experience, with plenty of seating and convenient location. Easy to get there via MAX, bus, or car, and lots of nearby places to eat or grab a drink. The Timbers and Thorns are both fantastic teams. Cons: The use of artificial grass is a hazard for players and staff. It can cause severe burns/scrapes, overheating, and long term exposure has been shown to be correlated with multiple forms of cancer. Turf also gets very hot on sunny days, which are only becoming more frequent in this region. Lastly, the lines to the security gates can go really slowly.

I'm not a huge sports fan but my company occasionally throws a team night at Providence Park for our coworkers. We've had various features included, such as catered meal and drinks tickets, Providence bucks for choosing our own meals and drinks and my least favorite, no food or drinks included. It's always a good time though, you really can't go wrong for fun and excitement. Games are always great, win or lose and spending time outside of work with favorite coworkers is so much fun. You can carry on a conversation and just relax or scream and yell for the team. Fully recommend for team outings!

A holy place for the Timbers and the Thorns. Only complaint is prices for food inside the stadium can be spendy. Grab a hot dog and a beverage, find your seats, enjoy the noise. RCTID! Tips: 1) Take the MAX, or park downtown and take the MAX. 2) Bags are not allowed inside. Plan ahead. 3) Apparently Cash-Free. Plan ahead. 4) The Riveters/Army are the heart and soul, there will be non-stop chanting. Timber Joey uses his saw after we score a goal. It will be loud. 5) The Sounders are the worst.

Went to the timbers game, I don't really care for soccer but the family and friends wanted to. Since I'm reading the park itself I won't comment on the ambiance. The park was clean, including the bathrooms. The food was edible but stale and chewy. I have back problems so sitting is where I'm at most the time and the general admission seating was par for stadiums. If you're not from Portland there isn't good parking so expect to walk, take public transport or ride share.

Incredible historical stadium that they’ve helped age well. The new and old blends nicely and it’s an intimate and energetic experience there watching the Timbers and Thorns. It’s actually refreshing that the suites don’t dominate the best space and views like most modern stadiums. Worth many visits if you are local or coming in from out of town to experience a soccer match here. It used to be a big plus that it’s walkable from downtown. Now it’s a drawback given the sad state of downtown Portland but I am hopeful local leaders will be able to get their act together to clean up the area…

  • Genevieve Rodriguez

What a fun venue! The stadium feels shiny and new compared to other sports venues I've been to. There is a clear bag policy, so pay attention when you purchase tix! Getting there was a breeze on public transportation. General admission seating is under a covered canopy so we stayed nice and dry. The beer is cold. The car it's nachos are yummy. You'll spend a small fortune but so be it. As crowded as it was, it was easy to enter and exit. Very organized and civilized crowd. And the energy of the Timbers Army can't be beat.

NO PARKING!! The parking has been left to the nearby neighborhoods, which completely ganks parking for the people who actually live there. I don’t have anywhere to park when I get home from work every single time there’s a show at the stadium. Whoever decided the stadium didn’t need parking should be fired. If you’re going to a show here, please, please please use the public transportation! There is nothing more peeving than not having a place to park because somebody decided to put on a bleeping game!

Providence Park is a really nice stadium. Any place you sit is a good view. It could use more large monitors for replay. The venue had a good variety of food and beer, lots of local choices, not only your big name brands. The stadium has easy access to and from the commuter train. If you go to a Timbers game and want to sit down, do not sit in the Timbers Army section. Ha, there are lots of food and drink options all around the stadium. Beers are $11, parking is about $10, train is $5.

Very good atmosphere for Major League Soccer Timbers and National Women's Soccer League Thorns futbol ⚽ games. Parts of the ️ stadium are older so the concourses aren't wide enough to accommodate all the fans. Luckily bathroom lines aren't too long, though concessions lines make it difficult to walk around. Lots of food choices. Sight lines are very good.

I live in the neighborhood and I can live with the noise, it's downtown and can be expected. I am, however, incredibly sick of how attendees come into my neighborhood and take ALL of the parking. They come 2-3 hours before the game even begins and steals parking away from those of us that actually live in the neighborhoods. Providence park should be responsible for providing parking for their attendees, not my neighborhood!

  • JoEll Crain

Probably the best place to watch any game. I've been in the past but this visit was for college football. Oregon State vs Montana State. Great game! Great food options at the stadium and I especially liked the areas along outer wall where you could get snacks/cold drinks from the grab n go refrigerators. I didn't have to wait in long lines for restrooms or food, and even parked super close! Best stadium experience ever!

  • Rich KR

A very nice and atmospheric stadium with a real European football atmosphere. As a long-time fan, I must admit that this game is fantastic to watch. And even though our Chicago Fire team was a bit of a letdown for the local fans, I was still impressed. Respect to the local fans of Portland Timbers.

Live soccer is much more entertaining in person than on tv. I finally experienced an MLS game in the fourth season of living 12 miles from the stadium. I’m glad the Timbers scored and won. My biggest complaint about the sport is that it can and often ends in a 0-0 tie. That’s just what I’d call a track meet without trophies. But hey, I don’t make the rules. I live to mock them and the birds in flight.

  • Nikolina Vracar

We visited the Providence Park for the first time from Vancouver in mid-May for Whitecaps-Timbers match. Impressed by the check in process and ability to scan our tickets - quick and efficient. The atmosphere at the stadium was great and the Timbers Army was intense in a good way. Having a few additional food choices would be nice, felt a bit repetitive. Happy to have visited despite our team’s loss.

  • Colten Tidwell

I love the Timbers stadium. They have done an amazing job making sure that there are seating situations for all. If you want to be part of the Timbers Army and you feel like getting crazy there is that, if you want to watch and enjoy the game without the hype they have you covered too, and if you would like to take part in club level seating there is the Key Bank club. Love this place.

  • Nick Morales

Unique stadium for footie. Used to be a baseball park and has undergone several renovations to adapt it for soccer. This is the view from Tanner Ridge, the newest section. Includes NA beverages and snacks. Full bar available as well and extensive customer service to help you find your way around. Highly recommended. Or choose the Army (GA) section for a more genuine Timbers experience.

  • Eduardo Patino

I’ve been here for a Thorns game and Timbers game and both were a great experience. The event staff is helpful and the venue is great! Gate B entrance is a bit unorganized. Overall, I’ll continue coming to Providence Park.

Home of the Thorns and Timbers Providence Park will show you what a truly loyal fanbase looks like. While there are boxes and exclusive seats, for maximum excitement you need seat in/as close to the Timbers Army / Rose City Riveters as you can get. Plenty of concession and merch stands, with a very popular Dutch Bros location on site.

  • Michelle Thomas Newman

What a beautiful stadium! Came here for a Timbers game and was really impressed with the facilities and ease of parking nearby. I don’t like that they cut off food and drink at the 70th minute after you’ve waited in line for 20+ minutes but the stadium staff and security people throughout were fantastic, friendly, and helpful.

  • Scott Hege

This is an amazing stadium and a very dedicated fan base!! This was my first time at the facility and the place is awesome!! It's clean and has endless vendors with great food and drinks. Killer Burger was right above our seats so we chose that. The fans we met were all super nice and having a blast. If you get a chance, go!!

  • Missy Masterjohn

This is a great stadium with comfortable seats and a good view of the field from just about everywhere. On a sunny day, I recommend wearing a hat. The food is expensive but it is good and there is a good variety. Plus the beer options are great. There is easy access to the stadium from the Max line.

  • Michael Karsh

A great and comfortable venue, and you'll want to think about rain protection and sunlight depending on time of day. Affordable and love to watch a game there anytime.

I have been to providence parka few times now and each time I come to a game, we keep scoring better seats. If you get the opportunity to watch a Timbers Game or Thorns game I highly recommend it, you won't regret it. Plus the amount of energy is amazing and you feel the Love for the teams.

  • Marissa Morris

Doesn't get much better than this!! The stadium is absolutely beautiful, the remodel has made every seat a good seat, food was delicous, drinks we're good. Try the local hazy ipa! The players were so friendly. What a special evening! ⚽️ When I ROOT, I ROOT for the TIMBERS! #Blanco#10 …

  • Joshua Lenker

Go Thorns!!!! Such a fun park. This is a great venue to watch Thorns games and to a much lesser extent Timbers games because men's soccer is about pretending to be hurt and women's soccer is about playing soccer. Food and beverages could be cheaper but the quality is good.

Beautiful field with great view from every seat. Food is on the pricey side but that's mostly expected anytime you visit any stadium. We had a great time here and felt very safe with all the security precautions taken. We will absolutely be back In the future

We had a lot of fun at the women's soccer game, however, we got there 30 minutes late, due to NO PARKING within a mile radius... literally. We walked there, but ended up taking paid scooters back because the walk was so far. Thanks to that,

  • keke brown

My first soccer match...enjoyed it.Nice facility but 7.25 for an Oscar Meyer hot dog I thought was a bit much. Was expecting what would get in a movie theater. They charged me $10.00 to store my purse, that wasn't much bigger than a fanny

  • Nestor Reyes

This space can easily fit a stadium with double the capacity. It's an an ancient small capacity stadium where most of the seats are back breaking in their discomfort. The main benefit is that because of how small it is, almost every seat

  • Ian CransonsKnees

Third time I've been to an MLS match and definitely the best atmosphere of the 3. If you're used to European football my only warning is that whilst loud the noise is orchestrated rather than being an organic call + response between home

  • L253 Lhmn

Always have a great time supporting the timbers! Recently I had the opportunity to be a ball boy which was fun as well! The new section of the stadium added more covered seating which is great for all of the rainy Portland days. However,

  • Morgan T

Go Timbers! That being said the stadium itself is a 6/10. The vendors are good but over priced as usual. Many seats have obstructed views. The stadium shop sells jerseys for 180ish dollars. 50% more than jerseys from much better premier

An absolutely beautiful and amazing park, the environment is one of the best in all of sports. Even though the lines are long to get in, they move very efficiently and it's barely a wait. Concessions are plentiful and easy to get to and

Great place for a soccer match. I was a visitor and the home fans went out of their way to make me feel welcome. They have an awesome home crew Timbers Army and a very good fun soccer team to watch.

My first professional soccer game. The Thorns lost to San Diego but it was a great experience. The city definitely rallied around the team. The stadium is awesome and has some great history.

Went for the season opener against Orlando. Good selection of food throughout the stadium. The Toyota Terrace is covered, so rain isn’t that big of an issue. Looking forward to going back!
