We had a big birthday celebration there after lockdown,food was very mediocre. Tandoori chicken didn't looked like tandoori chicken at all,chicken was not even fresh. Malai chicken which was more or less frozen chicken with cream on top and some sprinkling of chilli flakes. Veg Malai champ again same cream and chilli flakes and caramelized onion. Paneer tikka was average with good portion of paneer but average marinate. Then we moved to main coarse Goat Bunna was above average with tender goat pieces. Punjabi Chicken butter masala was no where near Punjabi style. Dal makhni was horrible ,I am sure even an amateur chef can make better dal makhni. Over all below average experience. Points for serving cheap beer and food ambience. Service was poor with only one waiter probably assisting in kitchen and serving as well. To the owner Mate by cheap ,I mean inexpensive beer . You really need to get some better chef ,or do yourself a favour visit some good Punjabi restaurants in town. You will understand what I mean , please take it as constrictive feedback, you have such a great ambience but your mediocre food is spoiling the experience. Imagine why your restaurant does not have any people on a Friday night , ask yourself. Happy to talk and discuss further . Why we did not discuss there in your restaurant was because we didn't wanted to spoil the whole atmosphere of birthday bash.

Worst experience ever. Not at all recommended. Starting from the staff, not at all welcoming and did not even paid attention to us, even though we were only group present for dinner. We had to call the staff for each and everything. Next coming to the food, on entry was good but main course- the curries were like they had made in sugar syrup. Told to the staff and the staff replied it is prepared like this only. Lastly ordered dal tadka and it was like a thick soup of lentil, light yellow color. Do dont even feel like to eat once you see it. On the top, the waiting period was quite long, though being the only customer in the whole restaurant. Moreover, they didnt even gave us the bill. They just calculated and told us. We had to ask for one, and the one they gave us was the paper based hand written bill. Not at all satisfied and do not recommend it at all. People please dont waste your time and money.

I could bath in the flavours of Punjab Grill! Such a inviting atmosphere, aromatic fragrances in the air. Wait staff were wondering. The food, oh the food. Lamb Rogan Josh, Butter Chicken and a server of saffron rice. The flavours were 100% on point. The chargrill on the chicken was beautiful and cover is an amazing authentic sauce Rogan Josh that had the perfect amount of kick to it, with lamb that just melts on your plate. Brilliant music, a modern take on traditional Punjabi music. I literally just wanted to get up and dance. I want to thanks the staff at Panjab Grill for a great experience. Highly recommend that you give this little touch of heaven a go.

This restaurant had worst food service in all over Victoria. I ordered a starter which had the least requirements for a Punjabi taste as i am a traditional Punjabi. That ruined the whole dish and the satisfaction of me as a customer at this restaurant. I was in a hurry and had to take a bus home at night time. The order took an unbelievably one hour and ten minutes just for a starter. I had a lot of expectations from this cuisine. But I ruined my night on my way back home and being fed just due to the shabby hospitality of this cuisine . In addition the waiter had started to argue with me even though they knew their mistakes. Also, i did not get any discount after the worst service i experienced. At last, I don't recommend any gentleman to dine at this shabby cuisine. It shouldn't even be called a poor man's shack. One of the Better places for Punjabi food. We tried variety of food from starters to mains to indo-chinese. The prices are at par with most of the fine dining restaurants but quality of food is higher than the most. I have to start with Rotis as that was the highlight...Probabably the softest we have had in a while...Hariyali Paneer and Mashroom tikka as starters were ok...But Kadhai Paneer was pretty good...Indo- Chinese isn't that great but it is Punjab Grill so their strengh is Punjabi food. Ambience was pretty good but they can definitely improve on the cleanliness especially near the counter area. A bit slow service but food is worth it...They also serve some Jain Curries (w/o onion n garlic)...Overall a great place for Punjabi food...stick to the basics and do try all of their naans.

Great place for organizing events! Best thing is the delicious food and ambience. You cannot miss that wall decor background that almost lessens the burden of decorating the hall for any event. Daljeet and his wife were quite accommodating, easy-going and friendly people to deal with. Recently organized a baby shower and the guests left with lots of positive comments about the food and also ordering takeaways!!! The only feedback I would give to provide a little bit faster service like refilling the food faster before they are empty or keeping an eye on the requests of the guests (for water), maybe with one more staff it would be well-manageable. Would definitely recommend this place to everyone.

It was a bad experience in Melbourne. First and foremost, the staff were untrained; they needed training. Second, we ordered drinks and entrees; they gave me the first entree and after 10 minutes, they served drinks; we ordered veg makhni; it was like sugar of water; we couldn't eat; we also ordered panner spice; it was just mild; they didn't understand the meaning of spice; and we ordered dal tadka extra spice and rice;However, the dal lacks tadka and flavour, and the service is poor. When we asked for a bill, they simply handed us a piece of paper, and we waited 10 minutes for it.

Hey, Owner and customers I would honestly love to share the genuine review. I haven’t tried their food yet but I was willing to and I made an Uber order online. It says 11:00am the restaurant opens and I placed my order at 11:15am. Waited till 11:30am but no response and my order was cancelled. I would want to tell you I would never come back again to your restaurant. The first step to happy business is discipline, punctuality which you failed to hold specially when it’s a hospitality business. FOLLOW THE TIME

I had reviewed this restaurant before about food quality which is still very good but I’m writing this time because of the service I’ve received here from past few weeks. The lady who served us was literally throwing the plates. We were kind enough to tolerate. I think if someone else would be there will get out of the restaurant straight away and the impression you are leaving about Indian restaurant is also not good. Please tell her to be little polite and sensitive . At least fake it for god sake!!!

Food was delicious and was served on time but the customer service was pathetic. If the service would have been better we would have enjoyed food thoroughly. Though the food was good, I wouldn’t bring my friends along as it would be embarrassing for me as a host as the service is so terrible. The waitress was just placing the plates, spoons as if we were begging for food.. not cool at all. It is sad that I wouldn’t be going back to this restaurant just because of their service.

We had been to the restaurant for lunch on Sunday afternoon.. We ordered veg platter, chicken buna masala and rotis. The samosa was uncooked. On showing them the samosa the replaced the samosa... Now comes the chicken masala, it was full of oil gravy instead of masala.. Stale chicken of previous day that was smelling in the chicken masala... Horrible... Will never recommend the restaurant. I went with Punjab Grill for my Lohri party after making enquires from few places. Right from beginning they were very responsive & accommodative. On the day food arrived timely & very well packed. I had a mixed crowd & everyone loved the food whether it was starters or main course. Lastly I have to thank that they provided generous portion of each item. For sure me & my friends would go for Punjab Grill again. Many thanks for making my party a big success !!

Do not order from these people! Worst customer service after we ordered from Menulog and our order didn’t show up. We’ve given this restaurant multiple chances and food doesn’t show up and we’re missing food every time. They are rip offs and if you call the restaurant you get hung up on. Terrible customer service when you’re trying to support small business. Will not order from them again. Wish we could add a photo but we have no food.

Had dinner here tonight, it was our first time in eating at Punjab Grill Indian, and it was very nice. I liked the decor of the restaurant, it was clean and nice inside, and the staff were inviting. Beef curry was tender, nice and spicy and the garlic nann was the best I have ever had anywhere - garlicky, flaky and melt in your mouth soft. Samosa chat was refreshing and yum also. Will be back to try out different things on the menu!

We had a party last weekend and the food, ambiance and staff and their services are great, food was well served and plenty of vegetarian options. Also we requested the dish which was not included in the menu but they were happy to prepare for our party, it’s recommended to visit or do your event, they are professionals. We ordered from here as our usual is closed for reno's. Chose this place because of the 4.9 google rating. Don't know how it got that high. Alongside the hefty price, the food was tasteless and very average. The korma tastes like jar sauce from the supermarket. Ordered two of the dishes to be medium heat, they were milder than mild! And they don't make saffron rice which is odd. Very disappointed. Will not return.

I tried them for the first time tonight & was impressed. I had Chilli Beef (hot), plain rice, & Masala Kulch. The heat of the chilli beef was just right. Hot, but not hot enough to burn the tongue or make you sweat, & the beef was tender & tasty. Rice was nice & fluffy, & the Masala Kukch was delicious. I'll be a regular here now.

Worst customer service on the planet! Even more worst then your local McDonald’s, Hungry Jacks staff, the staff at Punjabi Grill are not engaging and just seem like they don’t want to be there. They need to have a class or train they’re stuff to be more effective and welcoming to their customers. Punjabi Grill’s staff is why the business may suffer, because they scare away their customers.

I ate here last week and the food and staff were terrible. The waiting period was long and the staff didn’t even acknowledge us. We were made to sit there and weren’t given the menu until we asked for it. I ordered the tadka and when it came out, it was like soup. Not appetising at all. Will NOT be coming back.

Attended a birthday party held at Punjabi grill and had a good time. The entrees and mains were delicious. There were halwa and gulag jamun for dessert as well as hot tea. But the best were the gol gappe. The function room is a descent size with space for a small dance floor. Plenty of parking outside during the night. Not sure about the day time parking as there are other shops around.

Was really craving for Manchurian today So I ordered Veg and Gobhi Manchurian. Tbh it was really bad . It didn’t had the authentic taste of Manchurian and Gobhi wasn’t even cooked , it was literal Raw. Order food medium still it was really really spicy . Ruined the whole craving … So disappointed

Tonight I ordered a medium mixed vegetables and I have never tasted such a Heavenly dish. They packaged my food with cling wrap to ensure it doesn't leak. The service so friendly and the food sooooo absolutely amazing. I would recommend this restaurant it deserves 5 stars. Try it for yourself you will not regret. I am a first time customer that will visit again.

I would give them zero stars but had to give 1 star to be able to write this review. I ordered the chicken malai tikka and it was bland. Garlic naan was bland and hard. I have had Indian/Punjabi food in Melbourne and this is among the worst food I have ever had. An absolute waste of money. Many other Indian restaurants offer high quality food for less.

The butter chicken was so sweet it made me feel sick $18.99.The roganjosh was a watery tasteless gravy with overcooked lamb pieces! $20.99 Very disappointing. I hope the chef/cook learns to cook better so that other people don’t experience this, unfortunately I will not be returning even with their offer of a discount for the next time.

Ordered butter chicken which was ordinary and nothing special but the chicken biryani was awful. There was way too much pepper corns that it overwhelmed the taste of the dish. It did not look appealing and the chicken was dry. We only ate not even a quarter and could not finish it. Will not order again.

I ordered chicken tikka masala. The veggies were half cooked and floating on some sort of plain industrial tomato sauce with a bit of chili powder. Extremely disappointed, and not acceptable for the price (17$). I do not recommend and will not order from there again.

In last 8 years I have never experienced this best level of food & service. Food was super delicious, no food colours, no extreme spices. Moreover the presentation was impressing & restaurant was really clean. Overall, really good experience, must try "MALAI CHAAP"

With generous portions and delectable flavors, we left the restaurant feeling fully satisfied and looking forward to our next visit.

I attended a party and I have to say the food was really delicious. I really liked the butter chicken and naan bread. The place is close to the western ring road so it is easy to access.

Their breakfast thalis are what I love the most. The saag thali was so heavenly just can’t put it out in words, you gotta try it to experience the magic. Lassi and raita are as well. The food was so tasty and heavy, it will keep you full

We did our Lohri ceremony at Punjab Grill this month and we were thrilled with the service, food and the hospitality we received from the staff. Guys if you are looking to dine-in, takeaway or want to have party, you will not be disappointed.

Butter chicken was soo sweet and taste less. Mix pakode was soo oily. Never order again from here. I have ordered from Uber eats under Ambrit Sharma.

Great food. Great service. !! Loved the mushroom dishes and garlic nan ( the only place which does not use garlic paste for nan in melbourne). The chicken was as soft and tender as you can expect. Best place for a family dinner.

We had our son's birthday party at Punjab Grill. Everyone liked the food. The owner was very polite and staff was friendly. They tried their best to follow our requests in a timely manner. Pricing is also genuine.

Worst food I never ever had in my life. I never recommend to anyone.... Manchurian is too sweet and raw from inside and chapati was burnt. In the mix veg cauliflower is too rausted... We Did not like the food.

Guys, I had almost every Indian restaurants in Melbourne but the food here is exactly the same an typical Indian restaurant. I feel it is worth to travel here from any place in Melbourne to have a food here.
