My recent dining experience at Punjabi Rasoi left me with a mix of satisfaction and room for improvement. Nestled in the heart of the city, this Indian restaurant certainly knows how to delight your taste buds with its delectable cuisine and exceptional hospitality. From the moment I stepped in, the staff at Punjabi Rasoi welcomed me with genuine smiles and a warm demeanor. Their attentiveness and willingness to accommodate special requests truly set a positive tone for the evening. The service was prompt and attentive throughout the meal, making me feel well taken care of. Now, let's talk about the star of the show – the food. Punjabi Rasoi undoubtedly knows its way around Punjabi cuisine. The menu boasts a plethora of mouthwatering dishes, each brimming with authentic flavors that transport you straight to the streets of India. The rich and aromatic curries, accompanied by perfectly fluffy naan bread, were an absolute delight. The dessert selection was equally impressive, featuring classic Indian sweets that provided a sweet ending to an already delightful meal. The Gulab Jamun was a standout, offering the perfect blend of sweetness and texture. While the food and hospitality certainly shone, there is room for improvement when it comes to the restaurant's atmosphere. The decor felt a bit dated and lacked the vibrant ambiance one might expect from an Indian restaurant. A fresher and more contemporary aesthetic would undoubtedly elevate the overall dining experience and complement the delectable dishes on offer. In conclusion, Punjabi Rasoi is a must-visit for anyone seeking an authentic Punjabi dining experience accompanied by exceptional hospitality. The flavors are undeniably on point, and the staff goes above and beyond to ensure a memorable meal. With a little attention to enhancing the atmosphere, this restaurant could easily become a five-star destination. I look forward to revisiting Punjabi Rasoi and witnessing its continued evolution.

Punjabi Rasaoi is on Edward Street Spring Hill nested near a number of hotels in Brisbane which is how I found it when I was last there. I was looking for Indian food for dinner and I came across Punjabi Rasoi and immediately noticed how many Indians were dining there. I chose a 2 curries meal special: a butter chicken and a vegetable curry and it was served on a tray along with a spicy mixed salad and naan bread. Not bad at all for a quick fix. I found the butter chicken particularly good and also worth mentioning economically priced. Very satisfying. You order at the counter and then wait for the GPS unit to flash ready. The staff taking orders were friendly and assisted with the meal choices. Plenty off street parking nearby. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area

The food here is super delicious, and they give a huge quantity too. It's awesome food, we really enjoyed coming here and the prices are also reasonable. Very good vegetarian food here. We had to wait some time for food to come, and lots of other reviews mention the same. If the restaurant gets crowded then you may need to wait for your food, so you should keep some extra time available when coming here. But otherwise, the food is made so well that it made the experience worth it!

I ordered a kadhai chicken at home and I was so excited to try it but i was utterly disappointed. The oil was leaking in the packaging and when I opened the container the curry was literally drowning in oil I'm not even exaggerating. I literally had to drain the oil out otherwise I think i wouldn't gotten high cholestrol from it. The overall flavour of the curry was good and the chicken was tender but it was soo oily that it there me off and it was so messy because of it. I'm so disappointed and i definitely would not recommend it.

Excellent and reasonably-priced freshly-made curries and breads (rotis, naans etc.) and variety of flavours to suit everyone. I highly-recommend their non-veg thali (3 x curries served with soft/chewy/hot wholemeal roti flatbreads, pickles and an Indian dessert). Definitely a go-to place for me now when I'm on a work trip in Spring Hill, Brisbane. Vibrant atmosphere, plenty of Punjabi/Aussie families eating there too. Tuhada dhanvad Punjabi Rasoi!

My friend and I needed a quick dinner on a Monday night. We walked down from our apartment and quickly saw Punjabi Rasoi. It was busy so we went in. It is a cheap and cheerful place to eat. There is a good selection of dishes and you can choose two or three curries and rice on a plate. The food came quickly and we enjoyed every mouthful. If I lived close by Punjabi Rasoi would definitely be where I would come because the food is well priced and service is very quick. I have no hesitation to recommend Punjabi Rasoi. Just don’t expect a high end ambiance as it is caters to tourists and travellers. Food was very tasty.

We went for a late dinner. Place was full of patrons. The restaurant is a favourite with the Indian community. Your food choice is served in a recyclable tray. Accommodates sauces, rice and space for naan bread etc. The venue is licensed. Self service on app and pay at counter. Be patient please, they also do take aways for online orders. Staff are friendly. Food is very tasty and well priced.

We ordered Punjabi Rasoi on menulog few days ago and we absolutely loved the food so we went back in store to order. When we went to collect it a staff member said he'd bring it out to us once it's ready so we waited out for around 45mins and this staff member walked past us countless of times and didn't say anything. I went inside to check how much longer the wait would be just to find that out order was sitting behind the counter and had gotten cold. There needs to be a better online ordering system where we at-least get notified when the meal is ready.

Food wasn't even tasty, it was extremely bad. The served curry was cold. Food wasn't even worth the money we paid, but the roti was at least good. The toilet was super unsanitary and smelly. We needed to wait 45 minutes for a simple starter, that would've taken 15 minutes at other restaurants. The overall experience is 1/10.

Not a good experience with this Indian restaurant. Ordered snacks first just to taste quality of food. Samosa chat was stale, will rate 3/5 Bread pakoda was cold and was dipped in oil, was so so oily that our mouth was filled with only cold oil, rate-0/5 After all this thought to cancel are rest order and we packed chole bature as it was already ready. So we took take away. Chole bature was so rubbery, looks like they have not changed oil since a week. Was to greasy and we couldn’t finish that, rate 1/5 (rating of 1 is for chole). Would not recommend at all.

The lady asked me to order online despite the fact that she was free at the service desk. I explained her that i was in a hurry but she refused to take the order saying place an order online. While I was ordering she took the order of other guy and I don't know if she hates her job or just only nice to selective people. Anyway never going back there again although their food is delicious the manager needs to be trained properly. Nobody wants to book food online if she could have done with two simple clicks on screen. I guess she just need to be replaced from her position ASAP. Food score is 100 but customer treatment score is 0.

First time trying out this restaurant with DoorDash delivery. Ordered a meal for 2 deal and one of the can drinks were wrong as I did not order a Coke Zero. It was both classic cokes! And also had missing items which was the 1.25 litres coke. Seriously learn how to read orders properly!!! One very very angry customer. Will never order from this restaurant again and we will stick to our local restaurants unless yous pick up your game. Oh and the curry did not taste like butter chicken at all, it tasted like Tikka Masala!

The food is absolutely incredible, we come here regularly. Our favourite dishes are the lamb roganjosh, samosa chaat (vegetarian) and our kids love the butter chicken. We got recommended to try this place whilst visiting the Spring Hill area of Brisbane. Both enjoyed Punjabi Rasoi, and tried various different curries including the goat curry and butter chicken. Would definitely return here again for the food, however the amount of single use plastic the restaurant goes through is concerning. All meals are served on plastic trays which are not reused, even water was served in plastic cups…

Do not come here if you are in any rush to eat. They are very resilient in charging for the meal BEFORE even providing food and we waited more than an hour to get the food. There is no explanation as to why the food can be that late, there were more than 2 people on the counter and 2 others serving the food. The food is pre-made but takes a ridiculous amount of time to put it in a plate and deliver to the table. Highly regret coming here and do not recommend at all.

Ordered a curry to take away, got home and realised that they didn’t give me any rice. Do we need to order rice separately? If so why didn’t the person taking my order ask me if I wanted rice. Plus I found hair in my curry! When I called to complain, the lady was very rude and dismissive. Still waiting for the manager to call me back due to him being on a break.

Went for the first time to witness all the hype, ordered chole bhature and thali. Besides poor attitude of the guy taking orders and overpriced menu, the food itself was below average with chole being stale along with pity full quantity of curry and sweet dish included in thali. Counter guy acts as if he is doing a favour on us and to make it worse, HE CALLED US BACK AND TOLD US TO PUT THE PLATES IN THE BIN. We did so and left without making a scene. $40 wasted.

I visited with my family for the first time but sorry to say, one of the worst foods ever I have eaten. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Hi, u replied to me how to fix it plz check there refine oil smell comes from makki roti and naan and even naan is very hard to eat, panner masal I don't have words how bad is that, if u ask me about tikki it looks u gut take out freezer and put in own and simply serve.

Great place to try Indian food. They movet to next place. Which if more better than before. I normally go there to dine in around once in 2 weeks. Every-time I go there, I tried something now. Lastly I had three curries with naan and rice. They certainly have to improve their naan making. It’s not that soft like naan bread. But everything else was really good. Got a lot of food for me in just $19. I will certainly recommend to try this place.

The setting is little rustic, but the food is amazing and they do serve good portions. The chicken tikka and lamb rogan josh was well cooked and not too spicy. In vegetarian the daal makhni and bhindi was delicious. They also serve you with a dessert with the option of ghulab juman or ras malai, the ghulab juman was perfect as it was soft and warm melting in your mouth. Overall would recommend this restaurant.

  • E Griffin

The curry was great and the prices excellent. I really enjoyed the aloo gobi. It had the right amount of kick without being too spicy for my weak tastes. Even though this restaurant is very popular the wait was barely noticeable. It was very lively with lots of people coming in for eating in and takeaway. The only thing that shot me down from five stars to four was a cockroach roaming around the dining area.

When you walk into this Indian restaurant, it is full of Indian taxi drivers. You know this is going to be authentic. They offer different combination of meal sets. Select from about 8 different types of curries, with both vegetarian and non vegetarian options. Indian snacks are also on the menu. Curry is packed with flavours! Nan bread is made to order. This is the place to go if you like Indian curry.

The food is great! I ordered some paneer tikka masala, cheese naan and rice last time. The portions are good but I was expecting more paneer in the curry. They have a good price though.

Restaurant is good...but didn't like the taste. Offers and quantity of curries are good. Cost wise worth but taste buds won't like the flavour. The person who is authentic indian cuisine lover will be happy rather than getting delight. Sweets looks okay okay.... But I will recommend it to go once and eat.

I ordered a take away Tandoori chicken and waited in the restaurant. I waited over 25 mins and had to leave before receiving my meal. This is way too long to wait fir a takeaway meal.

Authentic and homely food at reasonable price. They have variety of north indian dishes but the parathas are best. My only criticism would be the decor and the cleanliness, if you are in Brisbane and looking for good Indian food at good prices this is the place for you.

Nice curries, a little bit of a wait for the food but worth it.

Promise that you won’t get disappointed, their masala tea is best. I had great experience with family, really enjoyed with the tasty food. The place is really busy, so book the table before you go there.

Excellent food, great value for money, in a nice little elevated corner of a street. The tea (masala chai) is great too. For those having a sweet tooth it offers some authentic Indian sweets. Highly recommended.

Not the best Indian but good for a quick fix. Portions and quality are okay, it was warm-ish rather than hot as all curries are kept in the showcase buffet tins.

One of the best North Indian restaurants in Brisbane. Just hop in if you are missing that indigenous Indian food ! You are going to love it !
