First impression. Pizza Pie ,boy I wanted a pie bad last night . I didnt want the same places I try out . Theres a place I havent tried and it came to my mind Punkys Pizza . Yeah I'm gonna try Punkys . I look you up on my phone and bam there is it . Now I'm excited its Sunday and ur still open. I make the call , (pizza for 2) lets try a medium please we have no medium only small and large , what !ok like little john then I get the small cheese sauage thin crust. $14 and some change . 20 minutes . That's cool u charge me $14 for a small I'm giving u guys a chance. I come get my pizza . I get home a little shocked as I open it .Number 1 Fire your cook or lineman or pizza maker whatever his title is . He needs a job a little ceasar where they teach how to make pizzas not a real pizza but none the less a pizza. Missing pieces of sausage . It's a law in pizza making that u spread the sauce to the ends and u spread the cheese to the ends evenly . I was missing sauce and cheese . I'm not gonna lie it was good . The flavors where there . But 1 star for the heart it wasnt there . My pie was just slapped together and slapped a $14 dollar price on it too . I will definitely be back for redemption because honestly it was that good. Give me a pie worthy of offering up to the Gods . Just call me Chef B.
Terrible! Dont eat here. I came here by accident because the other pizza place was super busy so I did not want to wait that long. So I came here and ordered a regular slice a desert slice and a sicilian. When I got to my room I realized the sicilian slice had a hair on it and some weird brown speckles on the corner. I could not tell if this was human hair or an insect hair. So i threw the sicilian away and called the punkys pizza shop to complain. I spoke to the manager and told her that I found a hair on the corner of that sicilian slice and I can bring it back to them. The manager atleast gave me a refund over the phone for that sicilian slice and told me I do not have to come back. I threw the sicilian slice away in the small box it came in. Disgusting! Also when I was standing waiting for my order...the impression I got was that the workers seem very disorganized and kitchen looks dirty in the cooking area. I found that the food here is very expensive. I will never come here again as it is located in an isolated area near a funeral home and finding a hair on my food and not sure if it was from human or insect source is disgusting. So if you ever come here to eat make sure you scan your food for hairs from unknown sources. Honest review folks! Stay Away!
Visiting Chicago, staying literally 100 feet away from this place. After travelling all day I thought I'd pick something up from here and take it out. No energy for much else. I went into the place, which was empty barring 2 customers, and stood at the counter. I was ignored. No problem, people can be busy. Server looks at me, up and down, looks away. Walks from behind the counter and out to the soda machine. Back and forth a few times, looking me up and down but never saying a word. No acknowledgement from anyone behind the counter either. After a few minutes, I left. I can safely say this is as badly as I've been treated anywhere I've travelled, or anywhere at home (Ireland). The absolute ignorance was astonishing. Not so much as a word said, just a few dirty looks as I was passed by. For the record, I was in no way looking out of the ordinary (other than maybe a little tired from the travel), or disheveled etc... It gets 1 star because it won't let me give it zero. I'd give it a minus score if I could. Disgraceful, I've never been treated so poorly before. Avoid at all costs.

I recently tried Punky's Pizza & Pasta and was blown away by the quality of the food and service. From the moment I walked in, the staff were friendly and welcoming, making me feel right at home. The restaurant itself is charming and cozy, with a rustic Italian theme. As for the food, it was nothing short of amazing. I started with the garlic knots, which were soft, buttery, and loaded with garlic flavor. For my main course, I ordered the margherita pizza, which was cooked to perfection with a crispy crust and fresh, flavorful toppings. The pasta dishes looked equally as delicious, and I will definitely be trying one of those on my next visit. The prices at Punky's are also very reasonable, especially considering the high quality of the food. They offer a range of specials and discounts, making it an affordable option for families and groups. Overall, I was extremely impressed with Punky's Pizza & Pasta and would highly recommend it to anyone in the area looking for delicious Italian food. The friendly staff, cozy atmosphere, and mouthwatering dishes make it a standout choice for a casual dinner out.

I came here when I was younger and will never go back again. The guy who was a member of the family who owned this place gave me my to-go order and I waited for my receipt but then he turned to me and said "BYE!" with a very nasty attitude. He clearly wanted me to leave for no apparent reason. I was very confused as I was only a teenager and did nothing wrong lol. I then saw a white customer come in after me and they treated that customer with a much more friendly attitude. Food is overpriced, greasy, and just your basic mediocre american/italian food. Ricobene's down the street is much better and way more popular than this chump shack.
In such a competitive pizza scene in the neighborhood, (having Rico's, Freddy's, and Connie's all within walking distance) I was once skeptical of Punky's claim to culinary greatness. That was until today when I tried the Meatball Sub and my life will never be the same knowing I live so close to the best meatball sub I have ever had in my entire life (sorry mom)! I've realized that the key to understanding Punky's is knowing that while their pizza is pretty decent (particularly the deep dish sausage and pep that they sell by the slice only on Fridays), that Punky's true strong suit is in its Pasta and Sandwhiches.
Come here as regular and always recieve poor customer service, today when I arrived with my family I was almost crashed into by the delivery guy in a Nissan Altima as I was parking, who then slammed the door in my wife’s face as she was walking in and he laughed about it as well. Always recommend my friends and family to this restaurant although I have never experienced any good customer service for the many times I have gone except for one time from the manager, but after todays visit I will likely never return this is no way a paying customer should be treated. It’s a shame.
I don't eat meat much, but I had a hankering for something with grease & protein (read: Chicken). I got the Chicken Parmigiana delivered and it was alright. I heard from other reviews that was the thing to go for and it wasn't the best for me. For $14 including tip, I don't think it was worth it. It was slightly pink in spots, which really turned me off. It also wasn't very lean/tough in parts which also wasn't very appetizing. I ate about half (the cheese and white french bread were the best parts). The rest will either go to the dog or in the garbage. Darn!
ordered lunch with the office last week, ordered the chicken marsala, unless you want to get drunk do not order this. it tasted like all they did was put cooked pasta, cooked chicken and cooked mushrooms in a to go container, then opened up a bottle of marsala wine and poured it in. I am not kidding, that is exactly what it tasted and looked like. It was awful and I could feel a buzz starting so I couldn't even eat it. Usually their stuff is good, but this dish do not get!

I really had high hopes for this place. I enjoyed it, don't get me wrong, but I think they missed the mark with me personally. It would be really nice if they offered tap water. I'm just going to say that off the bat. What I spend over $50 on dinner to eat in it would be nice to be given the option of tap water. Anyway, we had a large Italian beef and giardiniera pizza (the beef was flavorless), the vodka sauce pizza, and the lemon breaded chicken sandwich. All was what I expected it to be but nothing really stood out. Typical Chicago pizza.
We love the food at this place. Emphasis on the wraps. They are damn good. The pizza will fill a craving if you have one but it’s fine. The white boy at the counter who’s always there is one of the least friendly people. Doesn’t say anything to you, emotionless. Actually no one says anything or makes eye contact really, bizarre. It’s okay though because I love the wraps, but a hi would be cool lol

I wish we would have ordered anything other than pizza. I believe the reviews that the other food is amazing but I wouldn't know based on the pizza. $36 for a party bbq chicken pizza, that we didn't like. Dough seems tough and the chicken seemed lacking seasoning, so it was sweet baby rays bbq with cheese. Our fault for ordering the wrong menu item I guess. Super nice staff

I got the chicken vesuvio, it was sadly so bland and dryer than the sahara desert. It came on a garlic bread that lacked garlic.. chicken breast that had no seasoning.. and plain peas that were a little hard. The best part of the sandwhich was the little packets of mayo I added to it. All the sandwiches I've had from here are like this. I haven't tried any of their pasta, but hopefully it's a different experience.

Food is always good but customer service is not. recently place an order for delivery waited an hour an half but attributed that to bad weather, no problem. When my food arrived it was not what I ordered so I called in kept getting placed on hold then she tells me I got what I ordered (which it clearly wasnt) and that it would be better if I just took what I had because it would be a long time before they were able to get me the correct order.
Love their food!! Everything I have tried is fresh and delicious. I strongly suggest the carrot cake, lemon chicken sandwich, wraps and I guess everything on the menu! The staff is super friendly.

Ordered Punky’s today for the first time. We got the soprano pizza, chicken wings and chocolate cake. Everything was fantastic! Pizza crust, sauce and cheese was just right. Toppings were great. Very hearty for thin crust. The wings were prepped like traditional fried chicken which I wasn’t expecting but was not disappointed. Chocolate cake was solid. Prices are fair. Based on my first experience I’d like to try everything on the menu!
Fettuccine Alfredo is delicious and nicely portioned. Thid time I decided to order a different item on the menu. The Punky burger is supposedly popular. However when I asked for just cheese and pickles I was told that it comes with mayo. Blank stare. Sooo you dgaf about the customer's preference. Everyone doesn't LOVE mayo on their burger. Yuck

Ordered two punky burgers great price for a double lb burger was tasty hot and fresh. Found this restaurant from doing Grub Hub deliveries and was please with their customer service, pickups are always ready when I arrive. Ladies at the counter are busy but always pleasant. Parking in the area is awful but what can you expect. I will definitely return and might order some pasta or pizza. Thanks for a great lunch!!
The place was very homey and quiet. The servings are huge We ordered bacon chicken wrap and breaded porkchop sandwich. Both are palate satisfying. The only thing that I would suggest from the place is a friendly smile from the employees ♥️ but the experience was good though. We will definitely go back and try others from their menu

Punky's is always a solid dining experience. Everything is exactly pretty good and you know what you are getting and quality is consistent. Their delivery is timely, although I have had issues with one delivery pizza being extremely greasy. I recommend their wraps (they're huge!) and their chocolate cannoli. Apparently they're known for their taco pizza, but I'm not quite that adventurous.
I didn't realize their wraps are made with pizza dough (I would have preferred a regular tortilla wrap). The portions are large, but so was the price. I wasn't expecting to pay $18 for a shrimp wrap and small drink that was advertised as being a special. My fault for not asking the price before I ordered. If I'm in the area again, I will try other items and revise this review accordingly.
Love the Italian sub and the fet Alfredo! The pizza is better than some I've had as well! Cannolis are the bomb! The phone staff needs more training. When ordering off the menu im told we don't have that, I say I'm looking at the menu! In another instance I ordered for pick up and was told it'll be ready within the hour maybe 20 minutes. Thats pretty broad time frame to pick up food.
I think they changed hands. It's not the same regardless of the signage. The staff all looks different. My Italian sausage was NOT the same. It was NOT very good. Very disappointed. They never had any French fries in there before. I won't go back.

I have only gotten delivery from here, but it was awesome! The portion sizes are HUGE. I highly recommend the wraps, which are double the size of a normal wrap and come on a ridiculously awesome type of pita bread. I ate one wrap for 3 different meals. One recommendation would be to skip the fries if you do delivery or carryout. They tend to get soggy by being in the boxes.
First time going there. Feels very homey and it's definitely a neighborhood "joint". It must he a favorite of local police since the night I went there seems like half the force was there so it felt like the most safest place in the city. Tried a Slice of their sausage and pepperoni and they were both delicious. Will be going there again soon and try their other food.
The pizza here is awesome. It has a very authentic Chicago feel to it. Everything is reasonable priced and the atmosphere of the restaurant is diner style. Would recommend.

Only eat here when friends want something and I've been eating here since around 98. Most recently ordered chicken noodle soup. What I received was giant celery and carrot soup with 4 spaghetti noodles and 1 small piece of what might have been chicken. I've held back for too long. Today I'm telling you guys after so long of being mediocre try to be better.
I used to love their vodka rigatoni the last three or four times sauce was very watery and no flavor. I never return the item but inform them the next time I visited sauce very watery and Bland and still the same thing never changed.

Received Dinner from A lifelong friends upon My recovery it was sent from Punkys & it was absolutely Wonderful. I can’t say enough about it. From the Eggplant Caprese Salad, Pot Roast Sandwich, Punkys Hamburger & Cheese Pizza All So So Good. Thanks Again. When You Can’t Cook You still want something Good and it was Great.
Great place to eat if you're in/near Chinatown (and want Italian food)! Our bill consisted of Stuffed Gnocchi with garlic bread, cheese pizza slice and homemade potato chips. One of the best pizza slices I've had in a long time. And the homemade potato chips were AMAZING! Definitely worth the stop and will be back again.
Coming to eat in the restaurant tomorrow but I have had your food many times. Your Nephew Mike S is married to my Cousin Karre. Mike would always bring your food you'd cater to our family Reunions. Absolutely delicious!!! We will be there tomorrow before the Sox game. ABSOLUTELY GREAT GOOD! THANK YOU

Consistently good food! Pizza, chicken strips, ravioli, spaghetti are some of our favorites. However, we have had pizza delivery twice (once thru doordash and once thru them directly) and both times the pizza was soggy and on the cold side. It was more an issue with delivery & delivery prep, than the food itself.
Stayed at an airbnb in the neighborhood walked here both days. Food was amazing got meatball sandwich homemade meatballs, chicken parm, chicken alfredo Wanted to try the sicilian pizza but 40$ for just cheese no topping little steep overall loved the food would definitely be back Portions are nice price is right
This is my second time to order Punky’s on Ubereats and it continues to amaze me. The gnocchi is so delicious- fluffy pillows with the best sauce. I got the pizza to try the second time and it’s also delicious. Not to mention the prices are reasonable. If you’re looking for awesome gnocchi and pizza, try them!
Just had their food for the first time! My brother lives nearby and we were visiting. Had the fettuccine Alfredo with chicken - delish! My sister got chicken Parmesan, mom got a burger and brother in law got the salad. We all loved our food! So delicious. Great atmosphere, customer service and fast service!
I placed an order for 50 people not only did we have the food delivered (Chicago to Oak Brook) within 2.5 hours it was warm and delicious! Every employee complimented the quality of the food. In addition, they provided friendly service. We will definitely order from Punky’s again!!! Thank you, Punky’s!
Ordered the breaded steak sandwich and Old Neighborhood pizza. Pizza was great! The breaded steak had good flavor, but definitely needed more sauce. Would order both again and just ask for extra sauce on the sandwich.

I get Uber Eats credits from my job, and I love using them to order from here. I just have a suggestion- add sauces and dressings to you Uber Eats menu. Your cooks aren’t good at reading mods. Sometimes I just want a side cup of ranch or Cesar and can’t order it from the menu. Thanks
Very legitimate little neighborhood place. Pizzas and food are pretty good, nothing spectacular (considering that it's in Chicago). What makes this place fun is that it is the late night neighborhood hang out. Lots of cops, lots of high school students on dates, it's a family place.
My pot roast sandwich is huge and delicious with lots of meat. The food came very fast. A especially sweet young lady there brought extra napkin and plates for kids with a smile. Street parking is easy.

I waited over a half hour for a slice of pizza. While waiting I watched two other customers get served chicken tenders, the other a slice of pizza to go. I usually have a good experience eating at Punkys, not today. I was hungry and couldn’t wait more than 30 minutes due to work.
Place an order for delivery and get a call after changing my card that they don't deliver to me. Then why does your own website allow it? Now my money is "pending" not available.. that is terrible service when the excuse given is it is "a computer gimic" their own workers words.

We've been trying to recreate THE pizza just like back home, so we did a "create your own pizza" order and they nailed it! We are pleasantly thrilled to find the place close to home (literally and figuratively) and will absolutely be ordering here often! Thanks Punky's!
It was not crowded, the staff were friendly, and the wait for food was average. A bit small if a dining area but not bad. The wrap was amazing. Will definitely be trying the other ones. They use their pizza dough for the wrap which really makes it extra special.

Grilled chicken was expensive. The chicken had almost no seasoning and was undercooked. When I got to the middle of the sandwich it was almost raw. I didn't go back to the restaurant because I was already on the road. I probably would never eat there again.

Food is good, I would recommend pasta (serves 2 people by plate) over pizza (small pizza serves 1.5 persons). Nothing special with the place but have some chairs and TV so you can eat, chat and enjoy. I'll be back if I'm around.

Delicious pizza, some of the best! The buffalo wings don't have sauce, but they are so good they don't need any. They are crispy and have a nice kick to them.
Great quality and quantity for the price. Buffalo chicken wrap was absolutely absurd (in a good way). Can’t wait to try the other wraps and apps
