Wow. This park is huge. Basketball court. Splash Pad. There is a newer play structure, with swings (one accessible swing!), baseball diamond, sand volleyball court, dog park, a soccer field, what looks to be a space for a rink in the winter, and one covered, but open, gazebo with some tables. There could probably be more seating or another shade structure for the size of Queenswood Ridge Park. Unfortunately, when were there to visit the Merry Dairy at 6pm on a Wednesday in August, the place was quite busy of families and dog owners, as well as a beer league style baseball game going on. The building that I am assuming had a bathroom near the splash pad was locked. There was one porta potty in the parking lot, that I believe was only there for construction workers. This place is too big & busy to not have clean public washrooms open from morning until the lights go off. (Or even 24 hours.) The size of the splash pad is great, but it could use more water features for the size of the pad, and more seating for guardians while kids enjoy the water. The hill near the baseball diamond looks like it would be fun for tobogganing in the winter. Also, the parking lot is about 10-15 spots and the church next door has about 50 spots completely unused. People were parking on every side street close to the park and the church lot was empty. Maybe the church should let the PUBLIC and families use their lot, and maybe use some of their funds to put up a public washroom too, you know, to support the community.
Restrooms
One pretty gross porta-potty in the parking lot. Also, if there are bathrooms in the city building there, it was sadly locked up at 6pm on a Wednesday in the summer, while the park was full of families, baseball players, and dog owners.

I'm restricting my comments to the ball diamond. I played for years in the leagues at both the Ridge and Kinsella parks. I haven't played in this league for a while now. Today, I noticed that the same issues still exist at these parks. The outfields are rough and full of ruts. Lighting is poor in these fields for night games.
Playground
Nice playground for the kids.
Restrooms
They seemed to be closed, although I didn't check. There were no porta-potties anywhere in the park either.
Picnic area
The picnic table area is covered and is really nice.

The whole area provides different opportunities for kids and adults alike. From the Ice rink in the winter, to the soccer field, ball diamond, and tennis courts in the summer. City cuts the grass at least every second week. Well up kept. Downside is the local teenagers in the neighborhood don't know how to respect city property.
Playground
Playgrounds are old but the kids really enjoy the structures.
Dog-friendliness
Lots of off leash action. No actual dog park but all the neighborhood hounds are very friendly.

The grounds are very well kept by the city. The play structures are great and always have kids playing in them. The soccer field and baseball diamond frequently have games that you can watch on an evening walk. The water feature is also very popular during the summer. There is a basketball court that turns into an ice rink in the winter. In the summer they also setup a volleyball court. A great place to take your kids and a great place to walk your pets. There is a fenced in area for dogs to play as well.

A massive park with a playground, football/soccer field, baseball field, volleyball court, race track(gravel), basketball ball hoops, ice rink and change rooms(in winter), newly built gazebo, waterpad, dynamic play structure, sledding hills(in winter), and loads of green space. The only downside is the parking situation. It has a very small lot and there is a church lot beside that really should be utilized rather than people parking along Tompkins rd.

Excellent play structure and splash pad. Shaded areas for resting but the play structure is in direct sun ALL day, so it gets hot. Small fenced dog park - be aware that not all dogs are well behaved, ours was bitten a few times. Now we pick our times based on who is there. Baseball diamond is used heavily on evenings and in decent shape. This past winter the outdoor rink was amazing. Great ice and not heavily used.

A park for all seasons! It has a great (new 2014) climbing set with swings, splashpad, a fenced in area to let your dog off leash, baseball diamond, basketball court, soccer field and a couple of great hills for sledding. From about late December to late February...early March if we are lucky, a hockey rink is maintained along with a large figure 8 rink.

I really enjoyed this park, especially the off leash fenced in dog park for my dog Miles. The park was also a hit for my niece as there was a park and a splash pad as well. Only complaint, though no fault of the park itself, was there was a fair amount of teenagers swearing and threatening fights and mot respecting the space of children.

  • Jesse Lloren

There was a hole in the fence of the dog park... My 30 pound dog was able to escape through the hole and could've been killed by cars. If the hole wasn't there it'd be a perfect place but that hole needs to get fixed, it's highly dangerous

  • Jason Basso

Great hills for sliding. The play structures were fun for the kids even in winter conditions. The ice was not available due to the weather but there is a building available for lacing up. And a reasonable amount of parking.

  • Aurora17

Peaceful park with great diversity in activities and playgrounds. Includes a water park, basketball / hockey court, soccer field, baseball field, dog park and 2 playgrounds with swings. lots of benches and walking paths.

  • Mike Gaumond

Great park. Fenced in, lots of grass and trees for shade. Most dogs there are well behaved. Only issue is lots of room under gates so if you have a small to medium dog they can very easily run away...

  • Catrina Curran

Lots to do baseball diamond, soccer pitch, enclosed dog park, paths outdoor rink and change room and children's play structure with wood chip base. Lots of parking streetside or in the parking lot.

  • Philippe Andrecheck

Great sliding and skating in the winter. In the summer: Splash pad and two play structures, soccer field and baseball diamond and a fenced-in dog park. Great park!

  • Daniel Marois

Nice little park with a fanced off dog park, also a running track, baseball field, soccer field and a nice little kids play structure, fun for all ages.

  • Shannon Bonnee

  • JOACHIM AGOU

A good fence park for dogs. I recommend the visit of my snowman, one of the most unique ice sculpture that has a neck and covered by dog poo and pee.

  • Carol Trenholm

Fenced in off leash dog park has sandy area for digging and some room to run. Quite small but has some contouring as well as a few trees. Two benches

  • Maria Chaban

Perfect water park for kids, it is small but amazing in the hot days, no much people so I feel it's safe for my kids. Give it a try. Thanks.

  • Sylvie B

Cedar chips on the ground make this a better park to visit after wet weather than parks with sand -which is muddy in April. …

  • Sriram Uma Chadalavada

Our 2 year old is delighted to play, swing and stroll around there. And she loves the splash pad as long as it's not too crowded.

  • Tarik El-Shafei

Park has baseball/softball field, soccer pitch, small park as well as a hockey rink with boards. Clean, with access to seating.

  • LunarCombustion

0/5, got shived by a 9 year old and the infants doing drugs behind the play structure really takes away from the atmosphere

  • Alicia Isnor

Nice park with small fenced off-leash dog area. Clean. 4-5PM is best time to meet other dogs.

  • Dritan Brati

It's a beautiful park ruined by teenagers in the summer and some dogowners in the winter.

  • Bjarne Binette (BjBnet)

Need more park benches around the splash pad. The pad itself is great, my kids loved it.
