One of the best local pet shops around! They’ve been in the business for years! I’ve been coming here since I was a kid, and I still visit to see all the incredible animals they bring in every week! I recently started an amazonian predatory tank, and I am very happy with my red tail catfish, tiger shovel nose red tail hybrid, silver arowana, tiger bichir, and albino senegal bichir! (Just to highlight a few). They really support the hobby, and I will continue to support this place as long as it exists! They have a wide variety of exotic fish and live plants ranging from freshwater to saltwater, and a huge variety of corals and invertebrates. In addition, they have all the equipment and various tank setups available for all your aquarium needs. This spot is definitely a one stop shop for everything you need in the hobby. They have plenty of dry goods and accessories as well! Ultimately, I highly recommend this place if you are in the hobby of fish keeping! Great quality, great selections, and excellent customer service and care!

Great local fish store , freshwater and saltwater fish and shrimp ! They have live plants as ! Examine the fish inyin your bagsbag before leaving the store. If you spot any issues with your fish just let the employees know , it is not the stores fault for receiving some fish with issues due to shipping or something else caused before the shipment got to the store , remember that the store tries it's best to keep up with the health of the fish and shrimp inside . If you ever see the tanks (overstocked) it means they just acclimated the fish and stocked them, trust me those tanks empty out fast in the store so there actually isn't overstock for too long , I been coming here for 6 months and observed everything, I even seen the crew doing cleanup and maintenance multiple times , 5 star well deserved.

The employees aren't all trained on what fish can be mixed so do your research first. The shelves/boxes they have them in are like 2 dam inches so no swimming room (that's just rude and inconsiderate of the fish.) I mean if your gonna sell one fish for 10+ dollars I want happy fish that aren't cramped up and make me feel like I wanna buy them all to save them. It shouldn't be about money in these stores it should be about the animals health and happiness. It gets expensive in there and we got a lot of fish spent the money and a week later every day we find a dead fish. I'm not sure what's going on but we have the tank set up like they told us and still they die. But then again who knows if they gave us the right info? Idk hope we don't go back. Literally money down the drain

I had been purchasing food and supplies for my fish here for years. I decided to buy some of their fresh water Shubunkin and after adding them with my other fish I noticed one fish began to get sick. After 4 days all of my fish were sick and had internal bleeding in the stomach. Their stomachs had blood accumulation and they became lethargic. I called and explained what happened. They said they had no responsibility after 3 days. I asked if I could at least get a discount on medication to treat the fish. They refused. I wasn’t asking for a refund on the fish I purchased simply a discount on medication. It’s unfortunate how they treat loyal customers. I trusted that their fish would be free of any infections due to their “quality standards” Stay away from this place.

If I could give this place no stars that would be to many. I bought 6 fish to add to my fish pond on a Friday and by Tuesday 12 fish were dead. So I called and they told me to bring a sample of the pond water so I did. Along with the dead fish. The owner checked the pond water and he said it was good so then he asked for the receipt. I told him I don't have one but my bank statement was on my phone. To which I showed him I spent $65.00. Then he said the fish didn't come from there store. Yes you heard that right I didn't get the fish from there store. So where was I supposed to get the bank statement from? The fish I got from them made the other fish in my pond SICK and they died. Don't waste your money or time going there, it's NOT worth it.......PERIOD.

One of my favorites till they killed half my fish. Introduced 1 goby from their store to my aquarium and a week later half my livestock is dead. Do not buy fish from this place. Survival rate from their livestock is very poor. They blamed temperature and a water change in my aquarium when my aquarium is temperature controlled and water changes follow a consistent process never having an issue before. The only change has been the introduction of 1 fish from their store and it has cost me well over 1000 in livestock. This place of business is not worth the risk of your aquarium. If you are passionate about the hobby shop elsewhere

Its ok. Definitely a place to go for simple fish needs. Last time I went in I saw some fish and plants in bad condition. Not surprisingly a lot of sad betta. I don't reccomend getting betta fish tanks that say they are a fitted size for them. And to not put two betta together. Saltwater fish are out of my area of expertise, and these people are supposed to be professionals. However another great fish store- Hole in the Wall in Pacoima. Theres also a pet store on Woodman right in front of Rainbow Aquarium. This store has been here since I was a kid, I wish it was as magical as it had been once in the past.

I never do reviews but be really careful when you buy fish from here. I bought two cichlids from here and they seemed to have ICH. The fish kept showing some symptoms in the store and I told two of the younger guys that work there and they said they treat their fish and it’s fine. Basically I brought them home into a new community tank I’ve been working on and a week later all my fish are dead and a tank full of ICH. Either quarantine the fish you buy here or just go somewhere else. Really disappointed because they do have a better selection than most other fish stores but the quantity just isn’t there.

check your rodi water, rodi should read 0 after di, my water was reading over 250 ppm wich means that when you buy “rodi” water they’re just giving you tap water and charging you 1.50 for 5 gallons when you can get same water out of your sink. i have my own rodi unit but didnt have di resin so i went to this place nd thankfully i checked my water if not my tank woul’ve been filled with algae for next week, not the type of person to be leaving reviews but this is really messed up cuz alot of people work hard on having they’re tanks prestine, hope they read this review nd fix that issue

I have been into goldfish for a while now and I could never find a good goldfish store, and I’ve tried many. This place has a wide variety of fancy goldfish and the sizes are unlike anything I’ve seen in a store. I would either have to grow them out or buy online to get fish this size. Absolutely amazing. Best prices I’ve seen too. They, of course have other types of fish and pretty much will have anything you can want. Amazing place and even though I live 20 miles from them I’ll make out the drive in the future for all my aquatic needs!!

I really like this store. The people are nice and don’t rush you out the door when it’s time to close. They are a bit on the expensive side but they have sales and the time I went they had a really good variety of fish and coral. Unfortunately the coral frag I bought died but the three peppermint shrimp I also bought are doing great! I definitely love coming here just to look around. It’s a bit on the smaller side but they have a 300gal tank for show in the front that can be seen from the outside of the store and it’s cool to look at.

I love their goldfish selection! I built a big pond for fancies and got two from here to add to my collection, an adorable tiger ranchu and a healthy tri color oranda full of personality. I like to come back weekly to check what they have because they are much cheaper than the options online and just as good. Watch out for diseases though and always quarantine your new fish for a good month before adding them to an existing tank. I've seen ich, anchorworm and fish lice on their fish pretty often.

I'm a fish fan and am always looking for a cool lfs. Went there for the first time today. Very worthwhile. I was impressed. Lots of uncommon fish. Salt/Fresh. Very clean. A few fish didn't look healthy and some were in really small containers (7" Jardinis in about 1gal space! But they looked great, so...). Most fish looked good, though. Big selection. Staff was older and really seemed knowledgeable. Lots of fish in a small store. Good prices. I'll be back for sure.

I was really surprised at how many fishes they had and the selection. I came looking for a blue acara, which they had but I wanted one that was more blue. If I didn't want that specific one, I would've taken the time to look at all the other options. Their selection of salt water fishes/larger fishes made me want to start a saltwater tank, haha... But I'd definitely recommend coming to check out this place again and that huge tank they have in front of the window.

They have a great selection of fish and out of the five pets I've bought here none have died (two actually did but it was my own fault with a badly done water change). The staff are also accommodating and friendly. If you visit when there's a lot of people then the staff might seem a little rushed but they still help customers well. I definitely suggest coming here for either your fresh water or salt water fish needs.

They have a bunch of cool fish and amazing products . 4 stars because they should allow people to return dead fish and check their water parameters for a refund. I bought 2 clownfish the other day, and the dude that grabbed him most likely hurt him and 3 hours later the fish died. My tank had nothing bad in it. No ammonia no nitrite and almost no nitrate. Really hope they refund dead fish in the future.

Awesome staff, very knowledgeable always a treat to stop by. They have everything you need for salt and freshwater, the fish are always in optimal shape and if the fish is new or in a rare case not looking well they will tell you not to buy till they bring the fish up to perfect health, or suggest to quarantine tank. So you know they really care about the customer as well as the fish's :) Awesome peeps!

I am into freshwater planted tanks. They have very few plants and the survival rate of the fish I buy here is 75%. That is why I rated them three stars. The saltwater coral tanks and fish look better kept, cleaner, etc., than the freshwater. They have a lot of supplies, food, tanks, etc. The service is ok. If you are not into planted tanks or into saltwater it might rate higher for you.

Great fish store better quality products then the big name stores and everything you could possibly need to start or maintain your aquarium the best variety of fish I've seen at any fish store in the valley and I haven't had a question they don't know the answer to the staff is professional curious and beyond knowledgeable I'm new to the hobby and they have helped every step of the way

Purchased 3 discus from this store along with 2 others from another store for an 80 gallon tank, 2 of the 3 discus I got from this store died, while all the others are thriving. Some of the discus in the store are frail and with only a couple looking healthy. Skeptical of the health of the discus from Rainbow, these fish ain't cheap either.

Knowledgeable and friendly staff. Took my daughter here 10 years ago. Returned to receive good deals yet again. 20 gallon tank with filter and heater for $80. Pretty good deal from what I understand. 4/6 of the fish I bought had skin issues such as bite marks from the overcrowded tanks. This fish store is Quantity over Quality. Take the quality out actually because it's only quantity. 2 days after buying the fish 2 of the 4 fish that had skin issues died unexpectedly. Way over crowding of the fish in the store.

Just pass. Poor water quality (murky, clouded and algae), Ick on several different fish in multipul tanks, same equipment & pre-made tank set ups as almost everywhere else. Only bright side was one emplyee (spoke with what seemed to be a Canadian accent) actually seemed to care about the aquatics and customers.

Pretty cool place in the valley for buying fish. I have bought 80% of my fish here. I have not had any issues. The owner is very helpful when present. Prices are competitive when it comes to buying feeder fish for your carnivorous friends. I highly reccomend this place. They have a neat variety of fish.

We have we coming here for years to buy our tropical fish. Their fish are healthy and the staff members are very nice, helpful and knowledgeable. Most of the staff have been there for many many years, which says something all on its own. Their prices are reasonable and they often have great sales too.

great prices, clean facility, friendly staff, couldn't say one bad thing about this place. they just installed a 360 gallon saltwater tank at my business. provided me with endless knowledge on picking fish that are compatible and will be servicing on the regular. only place i would trust to do so! I've been coming here from the beginning of my fish hobby because they're absolutes in the fish game and they've educated me so much on reef building as well as keeping fish. Unfortunately they wont do refunds for Saltwater fish which is a huge bummer. Trial and error is the best teacher.

Pretty typical for an aquarium store but the atmosphere was very comfortable and the staff was very knowledgeable. I can't tell you whether the prices are good or not cuz I haven't had an aquarium for 35 years and everything is about four times what it cost in the 80s

This place has great diversity on salt & fresh water fishes not to mention the Amount of live plants. Staff is great polite and definitely know their stuff. Picked up these 2 glo fish for the kids tank. Will he coming back for some saltwater fishes and accessories.

Seems like no one here knows what they're doing, I've had to come back about three times for a simple filter. I've had to exchange tank parts multiple times as well. I'm all for supporting the small shops, but they make it hard for me to want too.

Great selection of fish, if it's not here you probably won't get it elsewhere. The prices are fare and the staff is friendly. I'm glad I found this place. There are several fish stores closer, but this place is worth driving a little extra.

Healthy fish , but the selection isnt as vast as you'd think. There is a lot of the same fish in different tanks but the prices are good and the employees are friendly as well. Lots of fish food choices here but no live foods unfortunately

Gotta say this place is way overpriced..I now understand why petco is taking over...asked about an alternative for rocks in my tank " there aren't any"... If I could give anything less than one star I would. I'm sure I won't be returning..

I have been around and I know how to judge a store. , The fish over there looks very sick and not in good condition. Also They are not cheap at all! In the last 2 years they raise the prices are lot and become very expensive.
