A real joke for a hospital. I made an appointment to see a doctor I'd previously visited and asked if I needed a fresh referral. I was told NO, and given an appointment for 4 weeks later. A day before the appointment I received a call reminding me to bring in a referral, which I was previously told I didn’t need. After waiting 4 weeks I had to reschedule with a referral. Again a 4 week wait. I finally saw the Doctor and made an appointment for a Gastroscopy. On the day of the procedure, I was told to arrive at 12.30pm, fasting from the night before and no water. After my paperwork was done by a highly inefficient admin person, I was taken to a dingy waiting room. 1.5 hour goes by and nothing. 2pm now and I’m faint with hunger and thirst. No one even came by to update me of proceeding. I finally managed to get the attention of a nurse and was told my turn would come at 4.30pm. What duty of care do these people have to keep patients who are fasting and dehydrated to be left waiting endlessly. Also concerning that they thought it acceptable to put a patient under after nearly a full day of no food or water. When I complained, the Doctor said he’d push me though. Great for me, but meaning the duty of care to other patients before me is non-existent. And let me not get started on the efficiencies of the reception staff that TRIED to do my paperwork for the appointment. I demanded a refund and walked out. Absolute shamble, and I’ll be reporting the lack of duty of care to AHPRA.
You need to update these review pages. The admin staff I found to be very unfriendly not only to me.The first day for my consultation I had to wait a extra 2 hrs to see my doctor so I noticed how other patrons were treated. The day of my procedure wasn't any better..My appointment to have the process started I also waited another 2 hrs for the procedure to happen I was left in a dingy waiting room not a person to be seen. None checked if I was okay didn't have clue where the toilet was..The admin lady who finally signed me in I seemed to be a bother to her..she messed up the time for my procedure and t was the last one of 9 people to be done,I was given a cup of tea water and biscuits to have after fasting for16 has surely I could have had some sandwiches..It really was lovely the care from Dr Anthony Mariani and the anaesthetic The nursing staff we great too. I had no issues with them seeing Dr Anavekar but recently I had to wait three hours to see Dr Mariani , even though I had an appointment. In the same waiting room there were other people much older than I was who were waiting to see the same doctor waiting around two to three hours. At their age I don’t know how they didn’t collapsed on those uncomfortable seats. One of the secretaries at the reception had a go at my young carer who dared to complain about the waiting time, telling him to get out and that he didn’t even have an appointment. She didn’t seem to understand that patients have carers taking them to their medical appointments. Rude and uncaring she has no business working in a medical facility. Doctors need to treat patients like humans and not put them through these long waiting times because the stress we go through is avoidable. It’s not all about money.
On a recent visit to RPH for dietician services, I found the reception staff to be very friendly and extremely helpful with inquiries, guiding me to the wheelchair accessible amenities and which way to Dimattina's Coffee. My only point of contention with RPH is that the wheelchair access is not up to snuff. The ramp leading up to the main door is poor for self propelling wheelchair users, the accessible bathroom stalls are not up to modern access standards making transfers difficult and the waiting area is small. Granted available space on site is at a premium, but I think more can be done to improve things. Overall a very good experience and it's nice to see great allied health care available in my local area.
Yet another private hospital that has given in to the hype and garbage of covid even now as the government has finally lifted its mandates, and covid is left to run free and unrestructed. There's no real compassion here, no room for family or friends to be with loved ones undergoing surgery or procedure. In the name of public health, protection of patients, those very patients are left alone and anxious until dismissed from the premises. Shameful stuff to see, hospitals should be a place of comfort, compassion and care. Can't believe this is Australia at times.
Rude and unfriendly staff. I hadn't eaten or drunk anything since the night before for the procedure and they made me wait for 3 hours longer than I was meant too with no one checking in and no updates. I was feeling very faint and ill as I hadn't had anything for now 20 hours. They woke me up aggressively from anaesthesia and were completely rude and dismissive. The doctor gave me my diagnosis 1 minute after I woke up then walked away and left. Paid out of my own pocket for this private hospital and wouldn't recommend going there.
Went in for an iron infusion and was attended to by quite a few medical staff. Nurse Tania, Dr Goodchild and Dr Mariani were really lovely and took great care of me. Nurse Tania was outstanding and so genuine yet my procedure was really a minor one. Found the actual admission process pretty cold and very robotic however was very lucky when that was over and I was handed over to the medical staff, I felt relaxed and comfortable.
Its a joke as a private hospital they charged too much but no customer service. whats the point to book an appointment to see a specialist but doctor never on time. Need to wait couple of hours to see a doctor. Waste my all day because of doctor appointment Ridiculous. Better choose other clinic if you have a choice. 0 Star Rating. No punctuality At All.
I am generous in giving this place two stars only out of respect for Dr Mariani. One receptionist in particular, whom I will not name here, is always grumpy, rude and displays a consistent lack of customer service. I was a long term customer of more than 25 years but after another incident with this person they will not see me again
Most of the reception staff are extremely rude. Basic facilities such as putting wipes to use in the UV treatment machine area is ignored. Patients are not assigned to the appointments promptly leaving them waiting and having to remind reception constantly.
For a private hospital it's a bit of a joke to wait an hour and a half to see someone. Staff weren't fantastically helpful just wanted you in and out and were super short. This place was so dodgy, that when I paid my bill of $180 my bank froze my card (HA)
Rude staff, extremely long waiting times. After waiting 3 hours for an appointment, they could not even find the results conducted previously in own hospital. It seems that all files are still paper and pen. Unbelievable .....
One of the best experience I have ever had as a patient, doctors and nurses were very kind and humble. Very impressive. Thanks to guys working hard for community.
Not even deserved a one star. A complete greedy doctors, very poor service and some unmannered doctor assistant. Horrible.
Reception staff extremely helpful and courteous. Nursing staff professional and friendly. Good experience all round!
Absolute joke of a private hospital. No point making an appointment as you’ll wait for a couple hours to be seen.
Without private hospital cover, can be a bit expensive. Regardless that I have a pension card, otherwise good.
Never choose this if you have any other choice. The reason have been highlighted by other reviewers
Very rude and unprofessional staff , had the worst experience, won’t recommend it to any one
Visited a specialist costing $160 for literally 5min and no real solution found!
Good service and lovely staff
