Visited Zed in the evening. Waited about 5 minutes at the counter before someone came to meet us, although we counted only two tables with guests seated. We ordered a cheese plate, and while the cheese was good - we received old cold bread with it, which was disgusting. The soup was merely warm and tasteless, the carrot mousse was ok, but again with cold bread, meat stew had a taste, but it was like it was combined from separate parts, not cooked together: not-so-stewed vegetables, watery sauce, white coloured stewed meat not filled with the sauce and taste. Fresh homemade pasta was a combination of overcooked macs and over-peppered sauce again with the feeling that everything was put together for the first time only on the plate. Service was slow, we waited here and there for 5-10 minutes just to receive the next tasteless dish. At the end we shared our thoughts with the waiter and manager (not that they could not see it from almost full plates we gave back from the table), had our "sorry", but the bill stayed the same. We had more pleasant meals in nearby places.

Reservations recommended especially on a weekend! Food was great and served quickly, croquettes were done really well as the batter was thin yet crispy and also well seasoned. Theres a choice of sweet potato with cheese, or beef, one serving is of 4 pieces and the staff kindly suggested we may select 2 pieces of each kind which allowed us to try both of the different flavours! In my opinion the sweet potato was tastier than the beef as there was a good contrast of flavour and texture. Also ordered Beef Tongue and it was tasty too but felt like it was perhaps overly tenderized from the marinades which left the meat a little too soft and mushy for my preference. Also ordered Bone Marrow, and Squid Tagliatelle. Perhaps its a norm in Barcelona where pasta in general arent served Al dente. Strong flavours but just missing the bounce from an Al dente pasta which made the dish slightly disappointing because the Squid pieces were also really soft, and thus the dish lacked bite since everything was on the mushier side as a whole. It was still a great meal tho!

Tengo que decir que quizás esperaba un poco más viendo las reseñas y la carta que tiene. Respecto a la comida, escogimos de entrante el carpaccio de rape, que para mí fue un sin más, le faltaba algo de sabor al conjunto; y huevo poché con queso, que tengo que decir que si bien estaba bueno creo que un restaurante del estilo tiene que ofrecer productos de mayor calidad, ya que el huevo era de yema muy clarita y sin sabor. Los platos principales bien, la pasta quizás algo sosa pero correcta y las carrileras un poco insulsas, un poco más de salsa hubiera resuelto. Lo mejor el postre, las natillas estaban muy buenas. El lugar es muy acogedor aunque bastante ruidoso. El servicio algo lento aún con pocas mesas sentadas. Si pudiera le daría 3,5 estrellas pero creo que tiene que dar un paso adelante hacia mayor calidad en sus productos, elaboraciones y conjunto, aunque están en el camino.

Very nice (Catalon/French(ish)) Bistro…small casual restaurant with a small but high quality menu. The beef tataki tapa was outstanding, the pork filet mignon was very good (though the picture doesn’t do it justice), and the Thai fish was very tasty. The caramelized apple tart was also good but maybe a bit much on the caramelizing part :) The wine selection is well curated and the cocktails were great. Very good service on top of all that. Definitely a ‘foodie’ place with portions on the lighter side but pricing is very fair compared to the quality and select menu. We’re here for 3 weeks so I’m sure we’ll be back at least a couple more times to try the other items. Highly recommend.

The Arroz con Leche is to die for!!! Everything was awesome at this restaurant. Perfect service, the staff was super nice and friendly. I tried the Pescado estilo Thai and the balance between the spiciness and the rest of the flavors was just outstanding. The sweet wine Coteaux du Layon ties everything together perfectly. The environment was cozy and boho chic, relaxed and yet refined at the same time. Perfect lighting. Everything was just outstanding but the arroz with leche with caramel was so good that I started looking for the recipe as soon as started eating the dessert! Something made in heaven! Highly recommended and I look forward to dine here again soon!

Really good experience. Cute and cozy restaurant in the centre of Barcelona. Nice decoration and ambience, with plenty of cute details. The staff was kind and efficient. There was a mistake (we ordered craft beer and got draft beer) and they changed it immediately. Food was truly amazing. We ordered tapas, main dish and dessert. We really loved blue cheese and onion, duck, but a little bit less humus and chicken. Salmon was incredible, salad pretty nice. We tried the Chocolat cake, which was the best chocolate cake we ever tried. I totally approve the ganache with salt, very interesting Spanish dessert. Big up for the menu in french/English, helpful! Best restaurants I've ate at in Barcelona thus far. The owner is a class act and truly passionate about the food combinations. They made carrots taste amazing and I don't even like carrots. Everything I had from here perfect. I recommend the bone marrow, carrot mouse and pistachio cream dessert. Didn't get a chance to try the lamb stew because they were sold our so I got the pasta with braised shoulder instead. It wad good just like everything else. The owner took her time to explain the dishes and gave me her recommendations which were excellent. Thank you for a great experience and local recommendations

You should give this place a try. Really nice staff and excellent service. As well, the decor and atmosphere of the restaurant was very unique and aesthetically pleasing. The food was lightly seasoned, but still good, and a pot of coarse salt is offered on your table should you want more flavour. My salmon was tender and falling apart, and the chocolate lava cake was decadent. The cake takes time to bake, but it’s well worth the wait. The portions may be a bit small for big eaters, though it was just right for me. Besides, a smaller main leaves more room for dessert.

Me encanta este restaurante familial! Ya he venido un montón de veces y siempre como muy pero muy bien! El servicio es fantástico con personal muy agradable. Los platos son realizados con mucho amor, con productos frescos, locales y ecológicos! La carta cambia muy a menudo, y para mi que como sin gluten ni proteína de leche de vaca, siempre encuentro algo que puedo comer! Os enseño fotos de las 5 últimas veces que he venido a comer. A ver si a vosotros también os apetece venir y incluir como yo este lugar maravilloso en vuestro top 10!

The food was delicious. The prices and value were fantastic. The service was slow, and our server never brought us a drink that were asked for. (We werent charged for it, so he never rung it in) I think the slow service was because either they had a newer server, or, they were super busy before closing. I recommend the fresh pasta with calamari.

I cannot even begin to express just how good the value for money the food we received Vs the price we paid was. If this was served in the UK it would easily have been £150. Right in the beating heart of Barcelona with breathtaking views of Segrata Familia around the corner, you would be a fool to not experience this restaurant.

If you’re near this part of Barcelona, I cannot recommend highly enough visiting Restaurant Zed. The food is incredibly high quality, the atmosphere and setting is gorgeous, and prices are very reasonable. Try to carrot and lime mousse and make sure to end your meal with the grandmas toffee recipe.

Located slightly off the beaten track near La Sagrada Familia, this is a must try for those looking for a small, well curated menu! Lovey staff with great service. Definitely helped that every dish was well executed and tasted great! We ordered the Smoked Fish Carpaccio (€7), Homesmoked Red Mullet (€16.40) and a veg which I cannot recall the name of.

Lugar con muy buena ubicación. El local está decorado con mucho gusto y es muy tranquilo y con clase. Los camareros muy atentos y la comida muy buena y con elaboraciones que se salen de lo común. No le doy las cinco estrellas porque las cantidades son un poco cortas y el precio un poco amplio. Pero es una experiencia que se debe probar.

Food is amazing! The menu changes, so what you see in the pictures may not be available. Highly recommended it. The atmosphere is very chill and calm. Perfect for dinner or even to have a nice evening with a glass of wine and some appetizers.

Thai Fish Stew

Out of everywhere visited on our holiday this restaurant stands far above the rest. The service was incredibly friendly and prices very very reasonable considering the closeness to la sagrada familia. We only had the fennel hummus, bread & olives with drinks and it was all amazing and all organic! I will be recommending to anyone visiting Barcelona and will be back to try the rest of the menu!

Amazing food, ambience, and service! Love that the menu is curated - but you cannot go wrong with any of the options. We were 2 people and we got 5 tapas to share, which was more than enough, at an unbeatable price. The servers made us feel so welcome this is a must-go in Barcelona!

The reviews are all true, this place is wonderful in every way. The staff, the owner, the ambiance, the talented chefs, all five stars!!! All the food was suburb and the desserts were legendary! I have to come back and try everything else in the menu. Vermouth and Crema and Sangria so yummy!

Servicio excelente, con sugerencias y muy amable. La comida exquisita. Pedimos una ensalada de temporada para compartir muy buena, y luego una entraña y estofado de cordero. Para terminar unas natillas. Todo buenísimo y a muy buen precio, con un par de copas de vino cada uno. Ambiente relajado y el sitio muy acogedor. Lo recomiendo!

La comida es espectacular, con un ambiente tranquilo y relajado por la tarde, si venís entre varios mejor para probar, aunque todo está de 10!, ;)

Excellent meals and desserts. Beef tataki is perfect. Oysters are fresh and delicious. Red mullet is tender and the sauce matches the fish meat very well. Pasta is also good. The rice pudding is extremely tasty. Pochéed pear is also amazing, especially if you don’t like your dessert too sweet.

Everything and everyone was absolutely delicious and great. The quality of the food is very high, the crew super nice and ready to help you at any time. The atmosphere and the location is also amazing. I recommend this restaurant 100%

Excellent food and fantastic service. It’s gourmet food at a good price point. The ambiance is very nice too. Best meal we have had in Barcelona at this point. I highly recommend the white sangria on a lazy, sunny late afternoon.

I’ve had some great food in Spain and this is one of the best restaurants. Had the pasta, the salad, the cheese and the apple dessert. All delicious. Coupled with the lovely service and great ambiance this place is amazing.

Great food, the carrot mousse was a pleasant surprise. Very warm staff and could easily communicate in English. Would happily revisit on my next trip and so should you!

Little gem a few steps from La Sagrada Familia. Delicious food and friendly staff. A no brainer if you are hungry and tired after a day touring around and you want a great meal. The carrot and lime mousse is a must !

Es un sitio acogedor, tranquilo y bonito. Solo pase a tomar una copa, Volveré en algún para probar la comida que se mira bastante apetecible. El personal es correcto y amable.
