Wonderful Bed and Breakfast in downtown Ottawa. Location is superb. A stone's throw from pubs, restaurants, and entertainment. Staff is extremely friendly and welcoming. The Inn is extremely clean and well maintained. The common areas include fridges and a comfy place to relax. The prices are very reasonable! The $10 parking option is also great. There's only 3 small parking spots, so book that in advance if you need a safe place to park your vehicle. I visit Ottawa at least twice a year, and this is going to become my go-to place for overnight visits. Best part of all, it's an official Bed and Breakfast, not a shady Airbnb "ghost hotel" that takes away housing stock from Ottawa locals. Support this honest accommodation business, they deserve a lot of love for the excellent service they deliver!

My husband and I and his brother booked two rooms at the Rideau Inn. It was an extremely good value, convenient to almost everything Ottawa has to offer. This is a beautifully maintained older home that is spotlessly clean. We had rooms with en suite bathrooms. Some have a private bathroom, but you have to pass through the hall to get to it. Each room is different. We made ample use of the lovely common areas to plan our excursions. Lucie, our host, was super helpful when we had questions. The self serve continental breakfast included croissants, muffins, toast, cereal, fruit, hard boiled eggs, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, orange juice, real creamer and more. They provide shampoo and body wash in the showers. This was an excellent experience and we wouldn't think of staying anywhere else when next we visit.

Quaint location, with a very nice room. Bed/bedding was very comfortable, and cozy. The interior has a well kept, Edwardian style which I apricated. The room was very clean, and quiet. They provide a continental breakfast (which we did not use), which looked well stocked and ready quite early. The owner is frankly adorable, and a pleasant introduction to the location. Check it out; it's a much better option than getting a larger chain hotel in Ottawa. It has a single downside, and that is parking. They have parking at the rear which can house up to three cars; however with snow this shrinks a little, making things a bit tight. Just be aware of this, and you'll be fine.

I love this place. It's an honour to stay in a lovely, old Edwardian house. The inn is clean, quiet, and comfortable. It is within walking distance of many places you might want to go in Ottawa. The owner has obviously taken a lot of care to ensure the comfort of the guests, including things that you might need even before you know you need them. For example, spare umbrellas. The breakfast is a continental breakfast. I prefer more protein for breakfast and find that there is enough (eggs, yogurt, peanut butter) to meet my requirements. Parking is limited, so make sure that you also book a parking space before you come.

I have been staying in Rideau Inn for a few times. It's my favorite place to stay in Ottawa. The price is reasonable. Location is excellent - close to all amenities, 24/7 restaurants, bars... I was impressed by the Victoria style building. lt's cozy, relaxing and comfortable. The roof deck is nice. The breakfast was fresh and quality of service was perfect. I found my beddings and towels are pretty new and clean. The staff are friendly and helpful. But I like to open the window instead of using air conditioner in the room - that keeps the window closed.

We stayed here because, knowing Ottawa quite well, we wanted the ease of a downtown location. The "Northern" room had a bathroom en-suite which we really wanted - not all the rooms do. The floors were pretty creaky which we didn't mind, but some people might. The biggest downside for us was the lack of internet connectivity in our room - it was quite weak. We couldn't use any streaming services or Zoom. There is a TV in the room though with cable.

Exactly as advertised. The room (Newfoundland) was quiet, and comfortable. The location was great (lots of restaurants and coffee shops around) and you could walk easily to most things. Very easy to get to. We had no issue with parking (paid an extra $10 for it…. I knew about this ahead of time). Staff was very helpful and friendly. I would definitely stay there again. A fair price for a very comfortable stay.

Absolutely loved staying at the Rideau Inn on Frank Street in Ottawa! Stayed 3 nights .. feels like your home away from home! A century home that is eclectic and quaint with lovely unique rooms on all 4 levels ... the beds are very comfortable, the linens crisp and clean, very well maintained and the common rooms quite inviting! Wonderful dining room with continental breakfast. Definitely a "must stay" for your trip to Ottawa!!

Old Edwardian home with a common room and open breakfast room. Buffet breakfast included. Quiet street, across from a small park and close to restaurants and pubs. Walking distance to Parliament buildings. Individually air conditioned room with a quiet ductless air conditioners. Not all rooms have private bathrooms - some share. Limited parking must be booked ahead. Free wi-Fi and cable TV.

Great location and comfortable bed. We really enjoyed our stay at the Rideau Inn; it has a great downtown location close to everything. The room was neat and the bed was very comfortable. We stayed in the Ontario room, which was quite loud. Between the garbage trucks at 6am or the loud cars, the room could use some sound dampening. Overall good, but we'd stay in a different room next time.

  • Nicole Pigeon

We really enjoyed staying here. The host and staff are really nice and helpful and the Inn is in walking distance to many restaurants and bars. It was a bit noisy at night and the air conditioning in our room was broken which made sleeping in the late summer heat a bit uncomfortable. Other than that we loved it here, definitely staying here if we're making the trip to Ottawa again.

Location is good and owner is friendly. Absolutely not worth the price though. Not clean, there were stains on our towel and bed sheets. We'd hear people flushing the toilet at the middle of the night!! We stayed 2 nights and never got a good sleep because of the noise. Not a pleasant stay overall.

Absolutely phenomenal experience. We were in Ottawa for two nights and the location was just perfect. close to all the major landmarks and also there is a 24/7 diner close to the inn which makes it very convenient. I have to mention the host who was super humble and helped us throughout the stay. The place is clean, white and super comforting. Would definitely go again

A really nice little B&B in the heart of downtown Ottawa, close to all amenities including bars, convenience stores and even a 24 hour diner! Our hostess, Lucie, was wonderful and provided us with a great breakfast in the morning and really good coffee! We will be back Lucie, guarantee it! Thanks so much for your hospitality.

  • Greg Stulen

It's a fine B&B but it's located in the single loudest neighbourhood I've ever stayed in. It's impossible to get a full night of sleep with the noise outside at all hours of the night/morning.

Located a few minutes from the Rideau, and maybe 15-20 minutes from the Parliament buildings and ByWard Market, the Inn is cute, quiet, and we'll maintained. Helpful staff. Around the corner from several restaurants.

The rooms looked like a university dormitory. Undecorated and uncared for. The special loving touch that some B&B owners put into their business isn't there. Would not go back.
