I brought in a 24" Raleigh 21speed mountain bike to Ridgeway Cycles which I bought for my son at Game in September. The front brake cable was loose and the front derailleur was touching the gears when my son rode his bike. I left the bike on Tuesday and was told I'd be sent a text if any parts needed to replaced but that the bike would be ready Thursday afternoon. I arrived on Thursday after 15h and was told the bike was not ready. I left my address and was told I'd get a quote and the bike could be delivered that afternoon after repairs. Anton then called to tell me the quote was for R800 for a rear something something replacement and for the front brakes to be fixed. I explained that that was half the cost of the bike and he offered for me to use the warranty. I told him it was not worth him doing the repairs and went to collect the bike. Upon collection, the bikes' front derailleur cable was pulled out and left dangling on the side of the bike, not the same condition I originally left it in. The bike comes with the gear and brakes cables in tact on the frame, which is not part of the pieces you put together. When the cable is pulled out it nullifies your warranty. I went to another shop where I received a quote for R200 where they also offered to fix the recently tampered front derailleur cable and replace the whole derailleur (R150). I left the bike at this local bike shop in Edenvale and was told to pick it up the next day around lunchtime. I will never support or do business with Ridgeway Cycles Greenstone thanks to this one experience with Anton and his shady business practice.

Staff is friendly and helpful. Shop is open and laid out with lots of space and has a fair selection of bicycles. (I am not a cyclist so not up to date of everything new.) Things have obviously changes since I was a kid as a bicycle used to be a birthday present, now they cost more than a second hand car. There is also a good selection off accessories for cycling, including helmets, but I did not see any cycling specific clothing. They have offered to look at my 32 years old mountain bike and try get it to working condition again.

I recently had both shocks serviced, as well as a major service done as well as a few other things that needed to be done to my Giant Anthem at Ridgeway Cycles. It was a little expensive, the bill coming to just over 4k BUT it was worth it. They did a fantastic job, I dont think my bike was even going this well when it was brand new so well done to the Ridgeway cycles tech team, the only reason I didn't give them a 5 star rating is purely because of the price.

I was referred to Ridgeway for an obscure part I was looking for, for a bike build. They did not have the right sized part, but Rory and his crew called the suppliers and arranged that the part could be collected immediately. 20 minutes later and I was on my way with the right part. All of this for a customer that they had never seen before. Well done, I don't live in this area, but I will be recommending Ridgeway to all my mates that do.

I have had the pleasure of dealing with Rory from Ridgeway Cycles. If you are a first timer like me in the MTB and Cycling game, this is the man to speak to and this is the Cycle shop you need to deal with. Friendly advice and great service. I am a client for life as a result of the way I was treated and the respect and guidance I was given. Rory, you are a good human my friend. In a world where service is so poor, you have won a client.

Love working with this team of professionals who are always willing and able to help, I generally store my bikes at this shop for cycling events and my customers always have good feedback when they service or wash and lube their bike at Ridgeway. Please keep up the great work guys!!!

I would like to let people know that this company is absolutely awesome. I have 3 bikes and they are not the expensive ones. And these guys are always willing to help out irrespective if you have a cheap bike or expensive.
