Would give them 0 stars if I could. They don't care about their students. They never informed me that there was a problem with my graduation procedure and then the semester was over. They refused to let me graduate unless I singed up and paid for an extra semester to complete the graduation procedure which they never informed me wasn't complete. I couldn't even complain about this decision because only students who are enrolled can file a complaint. And this would take a long time and therefore cost a lot more tuition fee. After that, I had to argue with them to have my diploma sent by post. The semester was over and I'm not Dutch so why would I be in the Netherlands? They knew I didn't live in Groningen but they said to me that "Groningen is a lovely place for a holiday and then I can come and pick up my diploma". I don't want the University to decide where I'm paying to go on holiday. They finally agreed to send it by post but not without a lot of energy put into it from my side. And this was after I was forced to pay extra tuition fee when I was no longer studying there. It's a total scam. Only good point is that I met some professional and competent professors. But the whole administration is rude and incompetent.

Zoals je bij elke grote onderwijsinstelling kunt verwachten, verschilt de kwaliteit per bestuurslaag, faculteit, opleiding en docent. Over het algemeen ben ik niet bijzonder tevreden. Het bestuur werkt flexibiliteit en de mogelijkheid om meer te doen dan nominaal één studie volgen actief tegen. Wil je het net even anders dan standaard, dan heb je hier echt pech gehad. Verder zou ik zeggen dat grote opleidingen doorgaans verwaarloosd worden (weinig 'echte' docenten en veel 'studentdocenten'), terwijl de zaken bij kleinere opleidingen vaak beter georganiseerd zijn. Tot slot zou ik nog even de verengelsing aan willen stippen. Dat steeds meer studies alleen in het Engels worden gegeven, is tot daaraan toe. De universiteit trekt wellicht meer internationale studenten aan en bereidt op deze manier studenten voor op een internationale werkomgeving (zelfs al zullen veruit de meesten hier niet in terecht komen). Dat is prima. Waar de universiteit dan echter tenminste voor zou kunnen zorgen, is dat haar docenten fatsoenlijk Engels kunnen spreken en schrijven. Dit is geenszins het geval. Steenkolenengels is helaas nog steeds de norm.

The worst application experience of my life, this university is total chaos, I don't recommend to anyone, not even to waste energy on making an application (as I mistakenly did) Quick summary: I make the application, they never send me the link to pay, I call countless times before the deadline to pay for the application, send emails, all useless (because they are so disorganized), and now I can't participate in the admission process because I didn't pay the application fee, which no one EVER sent me. Thanks. Ps. Only the last girl who talked to me on the phone actually did something, unfortunately (or fortunately) it was too late.

I pay a lot of money for my studies, so it's really surprising that I have to take a course for my Bachelor's thesis in which a lecturer wants to tap my private and professional contacts for a survey to further his doctorate. Personal initiative in setting and working on the assignment is not welcome. You can't provide enough contacts? - this has a direct influence on your final grade... Being abused as a stooge in the final paper should make it clear to everyone what they are getting into. Furthermore, students are often left alone and do not receive any support against the arbitrariness of the lecturers.

Horrendous application process with insufficient and confusing communication by the admissions team. The people working in the admissions team need to be educated and considerate of the different documents and processes followed in other countries. Moreover, there seems to be a complete lack of communication between different teams within the university, namely the visa and admission team. For a supposed quality university with high standing, the treatment and correspondence with prospective students is horrendous.

Ξεκίνησε η κόρη μου μεταπτυχιακό στο πανεπιστήμιο του Χρονιγκεν, στο τμήμα χημείας και ξαφνικά τη διέγραψαν χωρίς να γνωρίζει το λόγο και εννοείται ότι δεν έχει καμία ενημέρωση αν θα της επιστραφούν τα δίδακτρα που είναι πάνω από 2300€. Στο administration office, που απευθύνθηκε, το μόνο που της είπαν είναι να κάνει έφεση στα ολλανδικά, το οποίο θα κάνει εβδομάδες να εξεταστεί!! Λυπάμαι πολύ για αυτή τη συμπεριφορά απέναντι σε ένα νέο άνθρωπο που του κόβουν τα φτερά τόσο άδικα

Ik heb afgelopen schooljaar €2143 betaald voor een livestream abonnement van belabberde kwaliteit. In het hele jaar heb ik letterlijk geen enkele les of tentamen op locatie in Groningen gehad, en zelfs studiefaciliteiten zoals de bibliotheek waren dicht. In vervolg ga ik mijn abonnement bij Netflix afsluiten, daar heb ik tenminste nog wat aan. Daarentegen is de RUG wel blij met deze pandemie geloof ik. Kunnen ze lekker makkelijk cashen over de rug van studenten.

Es imposible hacer la matrícula para los cursos de idiomas. La gestión de la secretaria es pésima, pues tras hacer todos los pasos solicitados en la web para inscribirse al curso, así como contactar les para confirmar que todo está correcto, nadie contesta y luego la respuesta es que el curso está lleno. Muy decepcionante pues no he podido hacer el curso de holandés que quería por la mala gestión de la secretaria.

They also refuse to seriously tackle the problem and instead, prefer to pretend they are doing something by putting a lot of PR effort in shallow campaigns that do not address the real problem. And a bonus: did I mention that they prefer to get the police drag students out of their building than seriously consider the protesters’ claims and concerns?

Здесь училась моя дочь по программе обмена студентами. Надо заметить, что в университете интересный подход к обучению и самоподготовки. Даже если работа выполнена с блеском, но раньше срока, то все равно будет отправлена на полную переработку. И все для того, чтобы студенты все свое время проводили в поисках новых и новых материалов по заданной теме в библиотеке. Думаю в этом есть глубинный смысл!

Good university for sciences and humanity studies! Tge largest in the nothern provinces of the Netherlands. Different faculties are spread out over the city. The main academic building has a stunning architecture located in 5he city center. It has beautiful, ornate halls that are used PhD thesis defences and special lectures. The place is buzzing with students.

Tijdelijk…. Eerder was Vindicat al eens tijdelijk de accreditatie kwijtgeraakt van de Rijksuniversiteit Groningen en de Hanzehogeschool, vanwege intimidatie bij ontgroeningen en buitensporig alcoholgebruik.

One of the oldest Universities in Netherlands. I visited the campus to attend a seminar. It's huge. The parking lot hard to find for an outsider. Still the atmosphere here is very charming.
