"This school is a great school I enjoyed every day of my 7 years at ripponlea primary school, the community is what makes this school so good in my year most of the people were all friends but we still have our really close friends, but the learning part isn’t all that good but you learn enough to keep up in high school"
Firstly this review is not to target the school itself but more the selection of staff and effort that is given... This WAS my Primary school education attended here from 2009-2015 and can safely say that when I started High School at "Caulfield Grammar" I was lacking education and needed more extra time from teachers here to help me in my learning. Apparently this wasn't the case here, I was told from when I can remember that my CORE studies (which is what we only did) was perfect and that I was an A student with no worries. My final grade 6 report left me with outstanding marks that I can say did not show when in Caulfield. My first ever test at High School, which I was absolutely not prepared for because apparently at Ripponlea, nothing is a test and shouldn't need to worry at all. We were not prepared for testing OR homework. No teacher ever gave us homework or any extra work as they could never be bothered :/ Some schools started home learning in grade 2~ That aside, some teachers just SHOULD not be working here. I knew a few teachers threatened kids with just ridiculous comments as "I'll hold you down a year" by not doing Minute activities like reading eggs, which in my opinion a very un-useful study tool but still at the same time managed not to care. This is not ALL teachers and there were definitely a few really good teachers here, but can say that a lot just didn't care to work here. In the end, I always felt like the teachers didn't actually want to teach us anything which made everyone always un-willing to learn by the lack of effort and enjoyment that is put in by the teachers. Before making any sort of decision after reading this, you must remember that this was nearly 4 years ago and a lot could of changed but this honestly was just my experience. Reviews by other students can be unreasonably bad because they just 'disliked' school and reviews from parents can also be misleading as how would they actually know what happened here, just because when there child says "yes, I had a good day"... Just be considerate of what might happen here :)
My two sons went to Ripponlea Primary School and we found it to be an excellent school that prepared them very well for future studies. The teachers cared about the overall wellbeing of the students and encouraged them to be the best they could be. It has a great community feel and very approachable staff. If there was ever an issue I found that my concerns were listened to and addressed. My sons went on to go to Caulfield Grammar for high school and I believe the education and approach to education that they received at Ripponlea helped them to achieve the academic success they have experienced at high school. My extended family was so impressed with the school that my step son now sends his daughter to that school and drives past multiple other primary schools to get there.
Our family has been a part of Ripponlea Primary for over 10 years (and Ripponlea Kindergarten before that) and we are extremely grateful for the education our children have received. The staff are caring and dedicated and we have made life long friendships with many of the families who have journeyed with us. I know that local high schools comment very favourably on the caliber of students transitioning from Ripponlea. A great foundation for future learning.
Our family has been part of the RPS community since our eldest child started 3 YO kinder 12 years ago, and we are could not have asked for a more inclusive, encouraging and positive experience for our 3 children. We feel part of the fabric of the school and our daughters are now thriving in High School. It will be a sad day once our son graduates however we'll take nothing but great memories and lifelong friends with us.
This school is a great school I enjoyed every day of my 7 years at ripponlea primary school, the community is what makes this school so good in my year most of the people were all friends but we still have our really close friends, but the learning part isn’t all that good but you learn enough to keep up in high school. Overall ripponlea primary school is a great school that you should attend
I think ripponlea primary is a great school for everyone and I am very satisfied. My daughter is very much enjoying her years at school.( every second ) The staff and students are all very friendly and I highly recommend it. My daughter cannot bare thinking about when the time has come to leave for high school even though she has another whole year of primary school.
I was a teacher at Ripponlea from 2005 - 2011 and I loved every minute of it. The whole school community was very special and the children were fantastic. My colleagues were caring, hard working and great fun. I still check the school newsletter to see how things are going and wish everyone involved in the school the best. Mr Evans - Hong Kong
One teacher I’m not going to say her name but let’s call her ms m So when I use to go to Ripponlea she was nice but when I left btw I heard this from a friend,we used to go to the same school now I’m in a different school she SCREAMED at a kid who wasn’t paying attention or talking in class tbh I hope ms m is fired
A wonderful school with a strong sense of community. The new principal is warm, approachable and contemporary in her thinking. Our daughter has had great teachers in her first 2 years at Ripponlea and we are looking forward to our continued relationship for many years to come.
Ripponlea Primary is a calm and caring school where the teachers, leadership team and parents are approachable and inclusive. My children are enjoying their primary years and have a growing enthusiasm for learning. Really love this school
The teachers and staff at Ripponlea Primary School have made a supportive space for their students and families. Thank you for the dedication to the education and development of all the children and the safe space you have created.
Ripponlea Primary has been a fabulous experience for our family over the last 8yrs, fun friendly small community with a can do attitude! They have set a wonderful foundation to go on to further learning.
I'm an ex student. Teachers literally couldn't care about the students. My grade 3 teacher spelt government wrong, like i don't know how he still has his job.
I was there from prep to year 4, all I have to say is that Mr. G is the absolute best
Excellent school. Nice staff and great kids.
