"The best primary school to ever exist in my opinion"

"My experience with the admissions office was very pleasant"
"We moved from Durban, the year Covid hit the world! Rivonia Primary has been nothing but exceptional, from the time we arrived until this day! My older daughter leaves at the end of the year (if only they could expand to a high school), my younger daughter still has two more years and we are thrilled to have the privilege of both our girls at the school! From academic support, to sporting and cultural activities, this school exceeds private school education! We couldn’t have wished to be placed in a better school!"
Relocated from KZN and I've had the worst experience with the Department.... RPS, Shayne Griffin, and Mrs. Drysdale have made my dark days lighter. They were very understanding and accommodating and really helped us settle in. Went out of their way to even help find schools for my daughter, who is special needs and guided us along the lines of who to contact in the department. They still checked in and made sure we had all the assistance we needed from a personal side of things. We are very impressed. We are grateful, and we are so humbled at their humanity. It's been a few months, and I can confidently say that we have been placed in the best hands in the best school in JHB... my son's teacher, Mrs Michelle Strydom, in grade 1e has been phenomenal... hats off to her for all her hard work and extra effort in making sure my son is on par with the rest of the kids. I would recommend this school to anyone. Their facilities and investment in our kids are absolutely amazing. If I had this type of education growing up, I would definitely be much further in life... thank you to all the staff of RPS and thank you to Ernest. He's an amazing part of your team....
The best primary school to ever exist in my opinion. I learned such good life lessons in a safe environment with teachers that would personally help me if I ever needed help with something. They have the best facilities that assisted me to learn and have fun. When I joined in grade 1 I was nervous to meet new people, but I met and made so many friends. The education was top notch which is assisting me a lot in learning in highschool. I now seriously miss the school. You always felt comfortable and at home. Extra murals were so fun from soccer to tennis to computers club. Because my mom had to work later I went to aftercare which was really nice. I always was able to do my homework and after have fun until I was picked up. My principal Mrs Drysdale was the best principal I ever had who who was always there for us. If I could ever visit again I'd hop on the first flight there and spend all day getting back memories from the good days. I also wish I could see all the teachers who had to leave who taught me. Rivonia, "in my heart you will remain".
I phoned the admissions department yesterday just to find out about the progress of the application I made for my child. The lady at admissions spoke to me like a child, I actually think school children get spoken to better than I was yesterday. I was not rude to her at all. I just wanted to find out progress as it is the first time I am applying for my son. She was also condescending in her responses. I wonder how the school is treating the children if the admissions lady is so rude from the jump. I mean usually schools would pretend to parents if anything, but this lady couldn't care less and since calls are recorded, please do play back the phone call made on 11/10/2023 at admissions. It is not my problem that the lady feels like the government has failed and that there are 450 students that need places, and the school does not have availability. Her bitterness towards the government has nothing to do with me. In fact, her behavior towards me yesterday was borderline racist! Very disappointed in this school.
My experience with the admissions office was very pleasant. I found the staff to be extremely helpful and organised. The school tour was very insightful and it was clear that the admissions team were very knowledgeable about the school and its history. The school is 120 years old and has a wonderful history of excellent academic and sports performance. The teachers are nurturing and take their roles of educating our kids seriously. It’s clear that it’s not just a job to them. This is a very well run school and I’m very proud that my kids are a part of it!

The staff and teachers of Rivonia go above and beyond for the kids at Rivonia Primary. They strive for excellence in all that they do and I find it is really a place that will get my child ready for the real world. They also expect you as a parent to be involved and contribute not only to the school but also our community. If only many people could have leaner this lesson sooner perhaps the world would be a better place! Thank you for the difference you make Rivonia Primary to all our lives!
This is one amazing school, totally upholding to their reputation of being a Legend in education here in Johannesburg. I personally had lengthy and absolutely great experience with all working and assisting in the school. From the knowledgeable and professional reception staff, to the teachers always ready to assist with so much patience and understanding .Thank you Rivonia Primary!
I feel so blessed to be part of a school like Rivonia Primary. From the tour I did 8 years ago till now, everyone has been so supportive and friendly. All three my children are thriving and love being part of the Rivonia Family!! I just wish there was a high school too as we are currently looking for a high school for my daughter and Rivonia has set a very high standard :)
Thank you to all the staff at Rivonia primary for a wonderful 2023 and an exceptional school concert. To all the staff, from teachers, to ground staff and the lovely staff in the admissions and accounts team for all pitching in and helping to make this such a huge success. I am completely blown away and am so grateful to be a part of this school.
WOW WOW From the first dealings with RPS we were greeted with a warm, friendly & welcoming team, starting from the Admissions team all the way to security and the staff. Continue to 'SHINE ON' & wishing you all another 120 years ahead. Proud to be a parent at RIVONIA PRIMARY SCHOOL ❤
The most incredible school! I was left speechless on how every child took part with their own special role in the most magnificent school production this year. Most wonderful principal, teachers, administrative and support staff and the best leaners. Definitely a family community!
Reminded again today of how fortunate we are to be at such an amazing school. From the ground staff, to the front office staff, the teachers and the principal. We are so thankful to have our kids in a school that values hard work and delivers it with kindness!
My kids continue to thrive at the school. The sense of family, community and commitment to excellence is prevalent at every junction. We've been incredibly fortunate to be part of this school.
Found Shayne from admissions to be hostile and condescending. She apparently only books school tours for you when you submit an application. She just spoke to me like I was a bum.
This school is a little treasure! I've watched my shy kids blossom because of this nurturing environment. Very well run with lots of parent participation.
Most amazing school ever. Really taught me a lot of valuable lessons and has prepared me well for highschool.
