Friends 70th birthday. First time visiting the restaurant and due to multiple dietary medical issues for my wife and I we were a bit apprehensive when we checked out the Website and menu. A few phone calls and email later we were assured it would not be an issue. Doors opened at midday and we all entered a very clean, tidy and nice looking restaurant were seated quickly to wait for the birthday girl to arrive for her surprise lunch party. The arrival went well and we were soon down to the food selection. A set menu had been chosen but we were attended by Tara who advised we could select as we wished from the entire menu and the chefs would happily accommodate our needs. Tara took time to check with the chefs and to ensure that nothing was missed from our list. We chose a variation of their prawn starter and both chose the eye fillet steak. As people's entree and ours came out we were delighted to see the plates were full. My prawns were expertly grilled, tasted great and the avocado rolled in sesame seeds and other goodies on other plates were enjoyed by everyone. Others had the zucchini tempura flowers and plates were cleaned. My steak arrived, cooked to perfection, with chat potatoes and sweet potato chips and a red wine jus. The steak melted and its easy to forget how great a steak can be but I don't eat salt or pepper and the steak was mouthwatering. Chat potatoes were the best accompaniment. Other guests ordered the pork belly with mashed potato, Broccoli and balsamic glaze and it was massive. Thick crispy crunchy crackling and perfectly prepared. It was wide, thick and juicy. I cannot say enough about the level of customer service we received and Tara and all the staff were on point, welcomming, and are a big reason we will gladly return.

Excellent find, this place has some great menu items. For entree we tried the Moreton Bay bug schnitzel which was unique, although I thought it tasted too much like chicken. I think turning it into a schnitzel took away from the taste of the bug. The scallops in half shells were absolutely divine and were my favourite dish. For mains, I had the eye fillet steak which was a big juicy thick cut, cooked to medium rare perfection. My partner had the barramundi which was so tender, and the skin extra crispy. She claims it was the best barramundi she has ever had! Dessert was chocolate fondant and sticky date pudding. Both were extremely delicious and the sticky date serving was very generous. All in all a great dinner and I will definitely return to try some other items on the menu! I notice some negative reviews but they tend to be from a few years ago. Maybe staff have changed, but I had a great meal and all the staff were very polite and courteous.

We have attended Rock Salt on a number of occasions without any issue, HOWEVER we arranged a Seafood Platter to be delivered for my birthday we were informed wen ordered the 2 x person platter would be adjusted for 3 PEOPLE. We were GREATLY disappointed upon its arrival. The Platter included COLD - 6 oysters, 6 prawns (not good quality), 2 halves Balmain Bugs (absolutely NO flavour-), smoked Salmon, 3 sauces and lemon: HOT 6 Scallops in shell, 6 prawns, a large amount of Calamari, 6 pieces of cooked Soft Shell Crab (over cooked so much so it they had next to no meat), 2 large pieces of Barramundi, 1 HALF small Kitten Lobster Mornay and very minimal salad (few pieces of tomato and lettuce). When the platter arrived we questioned its size for 3 persons and we also rang the restaurant and the response was non-pulsed. We were charged well in excess of $200 for this and were very disappointed. We got a platter from Gary's Seafood a week or two earlier which was very good but did not have the lobster this was the reason we opted for RockSalt

Amazing food with great portions! I ate the zuchini flowers for starters and they were to die for! Then for mains I had the kangaroo which was cooked to perfection. Sadly I was too stuffed to even contemplate dessert! The service staff were great. We brought our own cake for a birthday and they put it on a lovely stand then took it away and plated it. They also took note of who the birthday person was and plated theirs on a bigger plate and wrote happy birthday in chocolate! Felt very special! For the kids menu they printed it on a koala face which had word searches on the back and then turned into a mask! (even the adults had fun with that one!) Will definitely go there again. But I'll save room for the banoffee pie!

Came again for fathers day (like we do for most events) and had a mistake with our booking! Oh no! The lovely staff were more than happy to find us a new table, and it was in a corner spot, like we prefer. Food was immaculate, and dessert was beautiful. Lovely service, and peaceful atmosphere. See you next time.

I started with a Cronulla Beer Easy Tiger then came out the Burrata w/ herb, fennel & chilli oil served with a Sonoma Bakery Baguette which was amazing. For entree I had Tiger Prawn Stack it comes with crispy potato rosti, avocado, black sesame & cocktail aioli, and for the main the Kangaroo Fillet with sweet potato mash, dutch carrots, beetroot marmalade & jus. The Head Red Shiraz from the Barossa Valley went well with my main. Finished off with the Sicilian Donuts with lemon curd, macerated strawberries, candied almonds & vanilla bean gelato. The food is faultless and the staff and service was great.

Came 26/06 for wife’s birthday. Everything was ok until I asked for baby change table and was told it was in disabled toilet. It was a foam change mat sitting on top of an undersized table. The foam collapsed and my daughter fell, hitting her head on the tiled floor. I told the manager and the owner (Aaron) who just said that they need to change that but just put the foam mat back on top of the undersized table. No first aid or ice was offered at any point. They did not seem to care whatsoever. Our group spent over $600 at this restaurant and that was how we got treated. Disgusting. Will never return.

Travelled to Menai from Cronulla to have the rocksalt experience. I have eaten here now several times and the food has never disappointed. We celebrated a birthday and our waitress made it feel that bit more special with a surprise happy birthday plate compliments of the team. We ordered the scallops, eye fillet, lamb, and raspberry brulee. All of the food was fantastic, presented well and the taste was out of this world. Thank you for making great memories and providing such great service. I suggest any wondering suburbanites to try this restaurant and any regulars to keep promoting this fantastic restaurant. Well done.

I had lunch here for father's Day, my wife visits with her friends a lot, but this was the first time I have had a meal here. My 7 year old has decided he is to big for kids meals so he had a 3 course meal also, he ate so much he had a power nap in-between courses. The food was amazing, 3 courses for $80 was unbelievable value considering the quality of the food, it was a shame the desert was such a large serving so I wasn't alone to eat it all. I can't wait to visit again.

We recently used rock salt for a work function. The service was wonderful everywhere you looked you would find a waitress smiling and happy to help . Now the food .....wow to be honest flavour some and well presented the only negative would be portion size, but do not let this stop you from visiting as you will be missing out .

This is a nice restaurant in Menai that was recommended to me. We went there for lunch during the week and it was really busy. The staff were really friendly from the beginning and the atmosphere was pleasant. I ordered the Moreton Bay Bug Schnitzel for entree and Pork Belly for mains. Both were really nice dishes, though I do feel a little upset that there was only 1 bug. When I compared it to my companions entrees, the sizes of the mains and the price I paid for 1 bug it left me a little disappointed. However, overall the food tasted good and the service very friendly. I'd come back here again.

Absolutely unreal food and dinning, the night was perfect. Would highly recommend having dinner parties and gatherings here.

I’ve been here multiple times now and I will definitely be back multiple times more ! The food is amazing, the drinks are amazing, the staff are really amazing and the whole atmosphere just does not disappoint. My only complaint (I wouldn’t even call it a complaint) would be each time I’ve been here I’ve been so cold from the a/c ! So make sure to bring a jumper when you go. We LOVE rocksalt so much. We went here for my birthday before lockdown. They have the best food, cocktails, service and dessert We always get the oysters and the steak the sauce is super delicious! If you let them know its a special occasion they make a personalised dessert for you. The staff are super friendly always Since lockdown we also ordered takeaway for my sister-in-law 40th and it was nearly as good as in the restaurant. Highly reccommend this place in every way dine in or take away just EPIC ❤❤❤

Everytime without fail rocksalt delivers outstanding service. Their quality of food is always top level alongside being reasonably priced. Staff are well trained a joy to deal with. The gorgeous greenery inside and outside, the high ceiling to a well thought out mezzanine level it's defiently quite an aesthetically appealing restaurant too. During the hard times like these its good to see services is still amazing alongside keeping everyone comfortable, safe but still yet with a sense of normality.

We recently travelled from Camden to Rock Salt for a birthday dinner. At first I thought it was completely random for us to be travelling to Menai for a restaurant given we have many excellent ones in our own area, however I was not disappointed after the trip. Fantastic food, great service and a really nice ambience. The chefs are obviously very talented and the flavour combinations they put together for my entree and main were both clever and delicious. Would happily travel back again for another special occasion.

A lovely restaurant that is less than it could be because they cook everything in nasty Canola oil. A real shame because it's a delicious sounding menu and for some reason they are using a cheap commercial oil for everything. They were nice enough to adjust some menu items for us to use olive oil so I can't fault their service, but it did make the menu very restricted.

We dined at RockSalt today for the first time, and had a truly lovely experience. Beautifully presented tasty food, sophisticated style, and excellent service. I had advised we were celebrating an Anniversary and would appreciate a quiet table. We were given a comfy corner table with a great view out, and our dessert platter had “Happy Anniversary” written on it in chocolate (the photo doesn't do it justice). Rocksalt is a perfect option for when you want to celebrate a special occasion but keep it casual. The place has modern decor and friendly staff. Not quite pub grub, not quite fine dining, the 3 course here are definitely value, and they have great cocktails too. Love their crispy-skin barramundi with lemon risotto, and the buttery eye fillet steak with potatoes and red wine jus. Definitely couldn’t complain about the portion size, and they don’t skimp on the sauce!

We went to Rocksalt last night and I have to say how impressed we all were with the table service. Nothing was too much hassle. The girls were so nice and attentive. The food was amazing. It was the best seafood platter I’ve had in my life. You can tell the Chef’s really care about the food they put out! By the way the garlic bread was perfect….For a special occasion it is a must

Overall, the food, drinks and atmosphere were fab. The portion sizes were great as the place is a little expensive so at least you can rest assured you'll be full! The dessert was so indulgent. I had the Panna Cotta which was nice but a little bland and dense. We had small kids with us and the vibe was good for them too. Everyone had a great night! Also impressed with the cleanliness of the bathrooms and change table for my bub.

Fantastic food, service and generous portions. The hot pot is a must have (although its a special so probably not always available). The only thing that would make this place better is their location. Oh and maybe a detestation menu so that you can have smaller portions of lots of things and don’t feel so stuffed by the end of it!

Fantastic food and ambiance! We came for a family dinner on a Sunday night. Unfortunately I don’t have photos as we’ve devoured our food so quickly. Kids had nuggets and chips. Both were amazing quality - real chicken. Kids desert was a brownie, topped with ice cream and cotton candy. So tasty! We had the steak and barramundi. A side of salad and chips were amazing too. We definitely will be back :)))

We had a beautiful experience having dinner just before Christmas with our family. All our dishes were delicious , the presentation and the flavours of our dishes were amazing and the service was fantastic. It was so good that we managed to book again to take out my father in law as a Christmas gift lunch on the 24th of December and he loved it .So well done to all the team at Rock Salt.

I have eaten here twice before, today was my third time and it was excellent. Beautiful food and flavours combined to make great dishes well presented with superb execution by the waitress made it a great experience. This place certainly confirmed we are not big portion eaters! Great suburban family restaurant vibe and perfect for those that live in the area and don’t want to drive out of area. The menu was balanced with a diverse choice. Something for everyone. I would rate the food as good, but not superb. Too rich and saucy. Presentation was not bad though. Would I come back, no.

We just finished up from here and can I just say everything was excellent. Your wait Staff were so kind and attentive, the food was excellent, the vibe was good - thank you for such a wonderful experience!

Good food, portion size, friendly service, good timing between courses. 4 star is because of the desserts: - pana cotta was bit too dense (could be too much gelatine) - pastry under the banaffee was bit too hard and every time i cut it with my spoon i had to use a bit of force thus i hit the plate quite a bit and the noise is loud. Would recommend and will return.

This was our second visit, both very disappointing, basic food, overcooked risotto, watery yellow curry, bench too low to comfortably reach the table, very noisy and overpriced for what you get. We won’t give it a third chance

The atmosphere and decor - great. Customer service was great. We Ordered the fillet steak - good, but the jus is a bit tasteless. Deserts such as snickers bar was great Prices were way over the top however. Menu had not one chicken dish, which was weird Menu needs updating. Great food and generous serving sizes! Reasonably priced too for what you got. Service was a little underwhelming at times over the course of the lunch- We had to ask the waiters a few times for water, extra drinks, plates etc. That won't stop me from returning though, looking forward to trying entree and desserts next time.

The food was amazing. However, the restaurant was very loud, requiring you to yell to have a conversion with the person sitting opposite you. The restaurant was packed with several large tables for Christmas celebrations, so no doubt the timing contributed to the noise.

Have been going to RockSalt for over 20 years and seen it undergo several changes. Currently it is a trendy (for suburbs) spot with good food that includes some innovative dishes. Service is good and very attentive. I was asked 4 times during my meal if everything was okay or I needed anything. It was all good.

We were unsure how it would go taking our 1 year old to a place like this, but they were very accommodating, including helping with his allergy requirements. A high chair was provided, as well as colouring pencils and paper. The food was excellent, especially the presentation, and the service was great.

The food is 5 star, some photos of the desserts which were the highlight for me. The cocktails are also something i recommend trying. If you eat here you will not be disappointed its my go to place for any special occasion. The staff are awesome and the atmosphere inside makes for a great experience.

Delighted with everything, my wife and I have been to the restaurant before and will definitely be back. It helped mark our milestone weekend with beautiful food and cocktails.

One can only say that the food and service is second to none. Absolutely enjoyed my meal, cooked to perfection, and would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting a brilliant meal.

Can’t beat the food and service! Delish menu as it is but Aaron and Vanessa are always happy to cater to our fussy needs and always serve a top notch meal. The cocktails are on point, garlic bread is a must and the staff are fabulous !

Beautiful Al a carte meal at a very reasonable price. I had the lamb shoulder and the coffee Broulee and they both were amazing. Will definitely go back.

One of the tastiest foods I've ever had ❤️! My favourite was the Tempura Zucchini Flowers (stuffed w/ four Italian cheeses on beetroot risotto with shaved parmesan). Surprisingly delicious. *Prior reservation is needed.

Was expecting gourmet like small portions. Was proved wrong, servings we're generous. Lots of variety on the menu, including gluten free options. Prices are bit expensive but it is to be expected. Service was excellent. Free onsite carpark as well as Street parking.

Had lunch here 2 wks ago. Although it was busy service was very timely. Food was amazing- stuffed zucchini flowers, slow roasted lamb shoulder, seafood hotpot and pork belly. Great value, will definitely return. Thank you for making our celebration lunch memorable.

Amazing service and delicious food. We had a voucher and chose the seafood platter and snickers dessert, both were absolutely outstanding and devine. Would highly recommend this place.

Celebrated a family milestone and was wonderfully surprised with the fantastic food, generous portion sizes and amazing service from our waitress Danielle. Thanks for the great sticky date pudding. Will be booking again to try something new on the menu.

Have been a regular for many years now. Food is consistently top quality. Comfortable with excellent service. I reckon it's the best restaurant in the area. If it were in the City and charged double it would get listed in the SMH Good Food Guide.

First time coming here, the service was amazing and the platter for two seafood was amazing, but would be nice to have whole lobster we only have the half lobster to share. (it’s called platter for two)

Very helpful staff here. Waitress was happy to answer any questions as well as pass on our dietary requirements to the kitchen (who were very accommodating). Busy place but quite a relaxed environment.
