My name is William A. I am writing to express my deep disappointment and concern regarding an incident that occurred during my recent visit to your establishment on Saturday. Unfortunately, I experienced a distressing encounter with one of your managers, Jason, who displayed unacceptable behavior towards me. As a loyal patron of Rocket Bar, I have always enjoyed the entertainment and vibrant atmosphere that your establishment offers. In fact, I make it a point to visit every Saturday, Sunday, and Wednesday to unwind and socialize. However, my recent experience has left me feeling hurt and disillusioned. During my visit on this past Saturday, Jason purposefully physically and verbally assaulted me. As a disabled, 59-year-old man who is partially paralyzed on my left side, I was especially vulnerable to his aggression. Jason forcefully pushed me into the entrance door without any remorse or concern for my well-being. The impact was so severe that I now bear bruises on my body as a painful reminder of his aggressive act.To make matters worse, Jason informed the staff that I am now barred from your establishment. As a loyal and frequent customer, I have always cherished the time spent at Rocket Bar. However, this incident has shattered my trust in your management team and has left me deeply disappointed. It is indeed distressing to think that such behavior is tolerated within your establishment. I implore you to take immediate and appropriate action to address this incident. No customer, regardless of their age, physical condition, or any other factors, should ever endure such mistreatment. It is crucial that you investigate this matter thoroughly and ensure that Jason is held accountable for his actions. Moreover, I kindly request that you provide me with an assurance that steps will be taken to prevent any future occurrences of such behavior. Your management team must prioritize the safety and well-being of all patrons, creating an environment where each individual feels valued and respected. I sincerely hope that you take this matter seriously and work towards resolving it promptly. My loyalty to Rocket Bar has been undeniably shaken by this incident, and I hope to see a swift resolution that reinstates my faith in your establishment. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I eagerly await your response and trust that suitable measures will be taken to rectify this situation.
I recently visited Rocket Bar and unfortunately had a disappointing experience that compelled me to share my thoughts. While aspects of the bar were enjoyable, such as the variety of games and the competent bartenders, I feel it is essential to address some concerning issues that arose during my visit. I must call attention to the bouncers' behavior, which left a negative impression on me. I found them to be unnecessarily aggressive and unfriendly. Their demeanor seemed to lack the professionalism and courtesy one would expect from staff responsible for the safety and comfort of patrons. This unpleasant encounter with the bouncers greatly affected my overall experience at Rocket Bar. On a more positive note, I found the selection of games at Rocket Bar to be quite impressive. It was refreshing to have an array of options to choose from, creating an enjoyable and entertaining atmosphere for guests. Whether it was pool, darts, or various arcade games, the bar's gaming section undoubtedly contributed to a vibrant and lively ambiance.
Management needs to get purged. Someone thought it was a great idea to hire DEBBI. This 'bartender' had the audacity to demand a paying patron to show proof of a disability after falsely accusing them of being intoxicated. This lady couldn't stand the fact that she was wrong and didn't have the dignity and respect to own up to her mistake. She also clearly doesn't know how to manage customers as she didn't even alert a manager. Long story short, DEBBI saw my friend yawn and she asserted that he had to be 'heavily intoxicated'. After repeated attempts from his own family member to explain that he was tired, NOT drunk, DEBBIE still refused to serve them without verifying a 'disability card'. DEBBI was hateful from the start and clearly had a vendetta against my friends. Don't go here unless you want this witch to berate you while she adamantly violates your HIPPA rights. Oh also, this place forces their employees to pool their tips. Probably so that wait staff like Debbi can continue to bully and discriminate.
My friends and I went in there before the Caps game ended around 9:00 PM. We went over to the area with Shuffle Board, Darts, and Pool. There was one bartender working by himself who looked more than busy and made us wait a little longer than normal but that's to be expected and not a big deal. Eventually he made it over but refused to make my drink because he though it was an odd request. Then he proceeded to ask me where I was from trying make me feel like my request (Jameson and Dr. Pepper) was outlandish. Everyone else who worked there was exceptional but this guy was something else. I have worked in management positions in food and beverage industry for 20 years, and with that being said, guys like him are only a liability to the business.
If you're looking for a fun and lively place to hang out with your friends, look no further than Rocket Bar in Washington DC! This place has it all: great drinks, tasty snacks, and an awesome in-game section with darts, pool table, and more. You'll never get bored at Rocket Bar, because there's always something to do and someone to chat with. The staff is friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere is cozy and inviting. Whether you want to relax on a couch, play some games, or watch sports on the big screen, Rocket Bar has you covered. I highly recommend this place for anyone who wants to have a blast!

If you want to have a relaxing night after a wizards or caps game, absolutely do not go here. This bartender is extremely hostile and rude, and if you do anything to trigger her she will try to make an excuse to kick you out. I think she clearly had some sort of emotional damage and I would avoid her at all costs. The other bartenders were much nicer and actually showed respect to their customers. Based on the amount similar experiences in these reviews, I believe it would be a crucial HR move to fire this woman. Below is a picture of what she somewhat looks like. Word spreads fast and she is most certainly causing a lot of people to not come back, at least in my circle.
The night time bouncer with the raspy voice waited til a woman who was with 10+ people left the building to say she was not welcome. Every action he did not agree with, and claimed was done to patrons, was done to coworkers she was with and consented to. He had no response for why he rejected her other than “I’m in charge and she’s not allowed back” white people were just as intoxicated that he did not ban. He followed us to jackpot and again slandered us and ruined our evening. The bouncer there agreed that if our actions were so egregious previously, he should have taken more initiative in the beginning to be proactive instead of reactionary.
Unbelievably rude for no reason immediately upon entry, the security guard with the dreadlocks was insanely hostile. And physically aggressive to us while completely sober. Learn the industry man, otherwise don’t work in the field and quit. Two folks at the bar were extremely condescending to me for trying to get a pool table. If you care about customer service and being treated at the very least decent then do not come here. The negative reviews left previously are very much real. This places does not deserve the 4 stars at all whatsoever, spend your money elsewhere

Went there late on a Friday with a group of 5 others - we wanted to go to the other room on the left when you get in, so we walked over to the door. It was closed so we slid it open. Bartender or bouncer kicked me out as I was the one who opened it (I slid the door back right after) .... apparently the other room was closed. There was no sign indicating the room was closed, and I had never seen the room closed in 3 or 4 times I have been there. 0/10 would not come back, bouncers and bartenders seemed to want to find reasons to get upset

Stopped by after a Caps game with some friends. We had a few beers during the game and were very sober yet one of the bouncers escorted my friend out for being "over served" which was completely absurd. A half hour later, I got the same treatment and was also forced to leave for being "too intoxicated." I've never been treated in such a way in any bar, any state. Our group was respectful, well behaved and polite throughout the entirety of the night yet forced to leave for no real reason. I'm not sure what kind of agenda the security staff have going but I would not recommend anyone else go and find out.
Honestly the bar is a great spot with very high potential, the bar tenders did a great job and were friendly. Unfortunately that wasn’t enough for me to have the time I wanted. It was great until I had to interact with the lady handing out pool balls and darts. If someone wants to be rude and unapproachable they shouldn’t work in the customer service industry. The woman doesn’t need to be in that position. It needs to be addressed as I see through the reviews I’m not the only person who’s had this experience. Make some staff changes on that end and your bar will be a 10/10.

A surprisingly large venue for what feels like a dive basement bar. Nothing special as far as drinks go, but the bartenders were friendly and fast. Lots of gaming options: pool, darts, shuffleboard, arcade games and even an old school photo booth. Only complaint is the odd line/no line system in place for gaming. There isn't a time limit on anything, so you just have to wait until something opens up. Music options are from a paid jukebox, so who knows what you might hear on any given night. Not a bad place.

Amazing experience, First time my friend and I visited the Rocket Bar they have every game you would want to play pool, Darts, and air hooky and ext. The ppl are were so friendly and so much fun while playing pool . We meet couples and we played pool with them. We had drinks and they have all kind . The only thing you need to know that they don't provide food so bring your food with you . If you want to have a fun time in DC I would absolutely recommend the bar and I will be coming back very soon . Keep up the great work .
Pretty good bar to hang out or catch a game at! They have games throughout the place, their decor was interesting, and their bartenders were nice. For food they utilize the burger place next door, which is a great way to support other local businesses. Their food was great and they delivered it right to a shelf in the bar. On Saturday night we were here for happy hour and were able to get basic mix drinks for $5 and beers were great too. No complaints, it wasnt fancy but it was a fun environment
I found a hidden walkie talkie in the women’s bathroom. I was telling my friend about it and a staff member overheard, and suddenly we were swarmed by 10+ large male staff members. We didn’t even have the walkie talkie on us, but they insisted on searching us and our bags. Though not legal, I consented to avoid trouble; but they physically searched us, found nothing, and threw us out anyway for no stated reason.

This place is terrible. Atmosphere was fine felt like a frat party honestly. Me and my friends were having a decent time until one of them got kicked out for absolutely no reason. The bouncer claimed he was far too intoxicated, but we were simply playing shuffleboard. After that, another friend got kicked out! And I saw others being kicked out for the worst reasons. I wouldn’t go here if you don’t plan on your night being ruined.
Listen to all the one-star reviews if you want to be treated with basic human respect. The bouncers unnecessarily escalate situations and act hostile without reason, creating issues. My friend forgot their ID and when we tried to explain that, the bouncer began to intimidate us and didn't show basic respect when speaking to us. This place isn't worth your time.

The man with the raspy voice who was wearing a red hoodie on the night of 03/08/23, who was behind the bar and checking IDs at some point, was extremely rude to me and others. I understand that intoxicated people can be obnoxious at times, but since you chose this job, the least you can do is pretend like you enjoy it. He simply does not know how to speak to adults or in a work place setting. 0/5 stars.
Overly aggressive doormen. Stopped me for ID, I am mid 40s (!) and whilst it’s flattering they were pretty rude when I tried to explain and show them my digital ID of passport (which was not accepted). Might want to give this one a wide berth and head up the street to the Yard which is friendly and great selection of beers and music.

Nothing special to be honest, if you compare with other places in the area, regular happy hour, if you are a beer lover, just 2 or 3 regular beers (but light type) in the happy hour, no kitchen, but the good part, you can take your own food there, pool tables, if you like arcade machines, there's some too, I found street fighter there , just because that I'm giving the 3rd
Very cool place with lots of pool, darts, and games. It was obviously packed on a Saturday night after the Caps game, but still able to squeeze around if needed. There weren't any pool tables or other games available unfortunately. They had 3 bars which was nice so it wasn't difficult to get a drink. I imagine it's much better when it's less crowded. Seems like a fun place.
Solid bar in China Town. The vibe is cool with neat 50s sci-fi art around. Appreciate all the pool tables, dart boards, and pinball machines. There's a card machine so you don't need to bring quarters or anything The happy hour specials are solid with $4 rail drinks. The music didn't really match the theme of the bar but maybe it's just whoever was at the bar that night.
Tiny door, and just like the hole took Alice to Wonderland, the stairs takes you down to a whole vibe. Very chill, old school divebar. Go as you are, have a few drinks, play some pool and socialize. If that's what's on your agenda, this is the place.

Literally was only in here for less than 5 minutes and was immediately disrespected by three different staff members. Security aggressively manhandled us for simply not getting our ID back quick enough. Such a shame because the venue looked nice. DO NOT COME HERE, will not return. Would rate rate zero if I could

Can't really speak on the food but one of the bartenders' attitude was so bad it kept me from opening a tab. Didn't stay there long because some of the ladies that was with us had a bad experience with one of the guys working security. Atmosphere seemed a little off but that obviously uniquely my experience. Maybe next time...

Such a great bar for night out. The drinks were reasonably priced, the staff was incredibly friendly, and the crowd was perfect for a chill time. Highly recommend grabbing a drink and having a couple games of pool. There’s a jukebox where you can play your own music and I took full advantage of it. Overall, great place and a hidden gem in Chinatown.
Awesome place to come and vibe out. There's bartenders are personable and knowledgeable of a wide variety of drinks. You're not waiting at the bar too long to order. The space itself is dope. Between darts, pool, arcade games and quite a few different tv's playing a multitude of different games, there's plenty of things to keep you entertained.
The Place was extremely unprofessional, security letting in females over guys who have been waiting in line for over an hour. On top of that, they kicked my friend out for leaning on the pool table. Security was threatening my friend and I saying that they “would spare us today.” What type of bar is this? This is unacceptable and disrespectful.
Went on a Wednesday evening. This place is a vibe. 5 minute walk from the metro station. 12$ an hour (pro-rated when applicable) to play pool. But theyve got shuffleboard, darts, and arcade games. A really good energy from staff, and patrons alike. I'll be back and would recommend to anyone seeking a chill place to hang out and grab a beer.
It was a rainy afternoon and it was pretty dry inside the establishment. However it not being any patronage in the joint, it was a very n ice establishment to come and get some drinks and get involved playing pool, board games, darts, and dancing. Nice lil get away spot downtown. Check them out and let's help the place get jumping.
Pros: Lots of pool tables. I like that we can bring outside food here. The beer is really nice. Cons: Arcade games are few and they are also quite expensive. The joysticks in pacman didn't work properly. Card payment did not work at the game card recharge kiosk. Overall decent experience and a nice place to hangout with friends.
Great rooftop views, fairly expensive cocktails ($18 with mandatory 18% tip), not too crowded on a June Saturday night, if you're looking for a chill spot. The basement bar is solid, fine food menu and cheaper beers with the same tacked on tip.

Had an awesome time when I went last Friday. Plenty of beers and different drinks to choose from. Bartenders were very nice and helpful with any questions I had. Pool tables were great and the list isn’t long for your name to be called. Beat my friend in every game they had there . I will be returning soon !!!!! …
great atmosphere, music, selection of games, darts is so hard to find but they have it here, lounge area is nice, multiple bars and experienced bar tenders, floors were ridiculously sticky, bathrooms seem to not have been cleaned often enough, security was great and overall had a great time and will be back asap …
Nice setup with pooltables and other bar games, and used to be a great chill spot for HH or to hang out before or after games. However, the staff has really changed in just a few years. Several of the bartenders seem to really miserable rude human beings who should definitely not be paid to interact with the public.
An awesome bar, EXCEPT for the bouncers. Incredibly rude, especially when shutting down at the end of the night. I want to go back, but damn, the bouncers ruin the experience. I hope they do some training and make them realize that the strong arming does drive away customers. I would give 5 stars otherwise!!!
Rocket bar is a great dive bar with plenty of pool tables. They have happy hour everyday 4-8. A select draft, rails and house wine are 4 bucks. Being downstairs gives it a cool vibe, especially in summer. It is a great place to hit after the smithsonian portrait gallery. Easy to get to from the metro.
One of my favorite bars in DC. It’s in Chinatown and in an underground setting with billiards, darts, shuffle board, and arcade games. When it gets crowded they open a second area and the layout opens up with 3 bars - again all downstairs/underground! Also Happy hour all week and weekend long.
The bar itself is fun and cool, however the service was not good at all. The bartenders were extremely rude to me and my friends, they should learn some customer service skills if they want to continue working in a bar and actually make tips off patrons.

A classic local dive bar great for cheap drinks, arcade games, pool, shuffle board, darts, etc. Have a back room that they open up on busier nights. You can also order burgers from the burger spot upstairs and they deliver the food to you at a door in the bar which is pretty neat.
Great place to be disrespected and man handled my security. Also if you ask questions about pool table you get yelled and seen as an inconvenience.Killed the vacation vibe proceeding with caution.

One of the highlights of my DC experience... right in Chinatown in the City Center, cheap drinks, friendly welcoming locals, pool, darts, shuffle board, video games, your pickiest friend would be ok wandering around this basement level bar! Must come to if you're in DC
Cheap drinks and lots of fun and games in this basement dive bar. Pool, shuffleboard, darts, and loud hip hop music. Was packed for a Wednesday night, with mostly hipsters on their 20's and 30's. Our grouchy bartender added to the underground ambiance.
This place is REALLY hard to find. Once you get inside down the stairs and there are 2 bars that i saw it was so crowded and they had a bunch of different games. 4 stars because it is not cheap and a bunch of white collar yuppies will hit on you.
Nice mix of games and space in a urban cool, kinda funcky manner. Great service, attentive staff and better than average bar food. Good beer selection with various verities at the three different bars. Reasonably quite in some spots for talking.
Extremely chill and laid back vibe. There's multiple games, both arcade cabinets and typical bar games, to keep you entertained until the late night crew REALLY hits it off

Had a bizarre interaction with the doormen at this bar. I was let through the first door with my fiancé and then was stopped at the second and asked to leave. We had only been out for one drink prior at dinner (and therefore very sober) and
We didn’t stay for long. The drinks were not the greatest and took a long time to get them. Also it seems like this place it’s on a basement that hasn’t been cleaned in a long long time.

Always my go to pre/post cap one events. They have great drink specials and make sure you get to your event feeling nice and warm, which in turn saves you from buying $16 drinks in the stadium. Also just a cool atmosphere in this place and
Think of it as an elevated dive bar with an awesome 1950s rocket theme. Multiple bars, arcade games, as well as pool tables and shuffleboard. It will make you wish that more bars were themed like this. You're guaranteed to have a good time.
My wife and some co-workers came here on Oct 28th around 10pm after work (For Context). I started a tab and ordered a drink for the each of us. After we finished our drinks, we decided after a long day we just wanted to go home. I wish I
Great place to hang out. Keep an eye for that door, not very noticeable from the street, but once you find it..head down the stairs and plenty of chairs, seats, three bars, billiard tables, shuffle boards, dart boards, and more. Have Fun.
Place would be pretty cool if not for literally one dude. The security guard with the locks gets aways with harassing people night after night. You'd think he's owns the place or something. 20 seconds into closing time he will treat you
Great bar environment where you can play games, get drinks, chill w/ friends. Watch a sports event. Bartenders and workers are very courteous. One can also have food from Eat Brgz dropped off in the bar to enjoy. All around nice place.
The Bartender’s behavior was not okay. I wanted to order a group of drinks for my friend’s birthday and they were understaffed so we never got served and harassed to leave by staff

Great bar! Great prices and wonderful bartenders. This place is cool cause it's in the cut and you might miss it. Happy hour is really good and they allow you to bring in outside food which is amazing. I am definitely going back
Cute little underground bar with pool tables. The bartender Tink was a sweetheart and makes her drinks very well. They have good music and it’s just a very chill place if you don’t wanna be in a crowd but you want good vibes.
Their staff was incredibly discriminatory. I had to call the cops in order to get back my very real ID from the bouncer. Truly believe that their staff has hate in their hearts. Not a place to go if you have self respect.
Haven't tried the food yet, but if you're looking for a bar just to vibe and chill for a great price ABSOLUTELY come here. Everyone is super friendly and the drinks are phonomanal.

Very much “meh.” I mean if you need a place to drink, there are worse in this part of town, but there’s nothing special here other than some model rockets hanging from the ceiling.
Nice courteous staff, nice drinks that went down smooth, and a good time was definitely had by all. Definitely go here for chill gaming, drinking, and fun conversation and music!

Fun little arcade bar with pool tables and some games. Cool robot theme with neat decor, had a couple drinks that were very reasonable and good. Enjoyed my visit here.
Always a good time with sports, fairly priced drinks, food service, and a good mix of In the ❤️ of Chinatown with plenty to do and plenty to …
Always a good time coming here for a drink or a game. However, it is normally pretty packed and getting to the bar can take a while but overall a great time!
This place most definitely passes the vibe check - cool games, chill atmosphere, affordable drinks, engaging bartenders (hi Bambi, you're a rockstar!)
The perfect spot to get a drink before a game across the street. Cool atmosphere with a variety of games- pool, shuffleboard, skee-ball, and more.
My friends had fun. I did not, suffering from PTSD and Anxiety. If you do not suffer like I do you will have fun with fun's and games. Enjoy.
Great bar with good vibes, the huge problem is the bartender, any time you asked for something, is like pulling a tooth, not friendly at all.

Great bar with some nice game options. I’m only missing a foosball :)
