As excited as I was the first time I walked into through door, ready to buy what I needed to start my woodworking journey, I was quickly disappointed by the customer service in this store. There is nothing that can crush an experience more quickly than sub-par and inconsiderate customer service. Three times I have been into this store, and each time I have walked away with disappointment. Not because of the lack of inventory, but for the way the employees make their patrons feel. Spoken by so many great leaders is the following, "People may not remember what you say, but they sure will remember how you make them feel". In a world where buying everything online is the norm, people will often travel to brick and mortar stores for what they cannot get through an online purchase; expertise and a quality experience - this store provided none of those. While I can detail the lack of knowledge the employees appeared to possess, the most significant detriment to this store is their ability to treat other people as they should. I rated this store two stars for its customer service and its consistency in performance. I genuinely hope someone at Rockler takes note and addresses the issues here.

This place is a woodworker’s hub of materials and advice. They have an incredible array of every kind of tool, including the supplies to make your own - truly the tools of the trade to create professional results (even for an amateur). The store is staffed by friendly experts who can help figure out the creative solution to a tricky problem the way only a true woodworker can.  The store manager, John Gilchrist, is particularly helpful and encouraging, even with the trickiest problems! They hold regular classes and demonstrations that can make you familiar enough with tools to be comfortable using them at home - and provide you with a terrific item that you made with your own hands.  I've attended two already - and I'm far les afraid of my router as a result.  They even have hours on Sundays, so I can forget something during a weekend project and still go pick it up. When I first developed an interest in woodworking, my brother-in-law, who is a master craftsman, said: "Have you been to Rockler?  You're gonna LOVE Rockler!"  And he was absolutely right!

I love this place everyone is very knowledgeable and always respectful and exited to see people walk back through the door. A beautiful selection of hardwoods exotic and domestic. Saving up to get a lathe and a table saw planner and a cnc machine buy it hasn't been very easy lately one day I'll be able to afford to get the proper tools to elevate my skills and passion for woodworking. 10 out of 10 stars all day long. If you haven't already been then shame on you so get up grab your wallet or purse and get your bottoms to your local Rockler let them know that Jake's your reason for stopping by lol maybe I can send enough customers there way that they will help me get tools to elevate my woodworking game. Haha lol.

This place is amazing. The staff is super helpful and friendly. They carry way more tools than you would think. I had been looking for some precision machine tools that I thought I could find at autopart stores, but I checked 5 different auto part store chains and no one had them. I tried hardware stores and they didn't either. But I found it at Rocklers. They do have shortened hours currently, and I was not aware of that until I pulled up literally right after they closed, but they opened the door and let me get what I needed. I would definitely return.

Everyone I encountered were knowledgeable in their products. Extremely happy with my Laguna F1. Made my first cross cut and the miter gauge is stable and smooth. Thanks in part to the advice I received from the salesman. The mobile base that was recommended was of high quality and exactly what I need for my shop. So smooth my 5 year old daughter can move it. It was my first trip due to living in Maricopa, but any time I find myself that far north I will be stopping by, even if to simply drool over the router bits

I ordered a Sawstop saw 3 weeks ago. Was told it was on the truck and would be here on Tuesday... three Tuesdays came and went and I showed up at the store and they said it's being delivered... I live over 1 hour away and can't make the trip every day! They charged my credit card up front and had my money for the three weeks of 'waiting'. I canceled the order and went to Timber Woodworking Machinery in Mesa and they had them in stock! Loaded up everything I needed and will never go back to Rockler again.

Rocker took on a custom request to trim down a door that was too large for the frame it had been put into. We purchased the house with the door that way and no other company would help us with a door that they hadn't installed. We reached out to Home Depot and Lowes but they gave a staunch, “No.” John at Rockler said, “Yes!” He trimmed the door down expertly! It fit in, and we can now actually close the closet. I strongly recommend them for their professionalism and desire to help!

John, the manager, is amazing. I couldn't get the help I needed at a big box store, I called Rockler, and John agreed to help. He showed true care and tremendous customer service by helping with my project. He guided my son and I through finding the right stain, top coat, and brushes to complete the job. He didn't have to help me as my project was not purchased from Rockler. He helped out of kindness. He obviously knows how to create loyal customers, and we will shop here again.

I finally have time to write a review. I live out in Buckeye, but this is my number one spot to go for any woodworking needs. I just recently started working with Epoxy, and Mike, one of the workers there was amazing! Each time I came there, I would look for him for his suggestions and recommendation. He is extremely friendly and helpful in my first time working with epoxy. I appericate his customer service there and will be continuing to come in. Thank you Mike!

I needed some hardwood for a couple projects and I found exactly what I needed. The prices were reasonable considering the price of wood. The store manager even asked if we needed any of the wood cut down to fit in a vehicle. It was pouring rain out so it worked out great to have the hardwood cut in half so it would fit under my tonneau cover. Overall great customer service and good prices.

The guy at the front looked at me like I was stupid. Like he was about to ask why I was even in there. Talked down to me like i was trying to steal something. I felt very discriminated against here and it's not the first time. The guy made me feel completely unwelcome. From the second I walked in and the look he gave me. Im never coming back. Like I said, not the first time.

I had a couple of boards that needed to be cut to exact measurements and they were happy to do it! So grateful! ☺️ The staff was so helpful and knowledgeable from the moment I came in and the store has everything you need whether you just starting out or you’re a pro. I couldn’t believe the inventory. I can’t wait for my upcoming scroll class. Very impressed!

  • Liberty S

Congratulations on your expansion! Shame you still don’t make women feel welcome. Stop looking for my husband and try talking to me!!! You have know idea which one of us spends thousands of dollars a year on woodworking!!!! Don’t assume you do!!! And put up a dang hook in the restroom; I know someone who can if you can’t seem to figure it out!!!

  • John Gilchrist

Well I am the manager of the store, so I may be biased, but we get compliments every day from our guests on what a great store we have. We try our best to encourage and provide advice on whatever project our guests are working on. We have a great team of experienced woodworkers and can help with almost any project. Come see us.

  • Sagar Patel

Had a fantastic experience at Rockler! John helped me out by cutting a few boards for me because I didn’t have the appropriate tools. These guys really do care about the customer. They are knowledgeable and easy to approach. No question is a dumb question to them. Will be coming back here much more often. Thank you John!

  • Brian Thorn

I took a woodturning class here that was taught by Justin and I came away with a product and a decent amount of knowledge. The class was well worth my time and I'm looking forward to the bowl turning class. The store has recently expanded to twice its prior size. I just wish they had a location in the East Valley.

I went in looking for gel stain and the assistant manager, Dean was extremely helpful. I highly recommend this store. He was very patient in explaining how to use the product even though I came in close to closing time. You just don't see service like that anymore. I was very impressed.

  • Joseph Zanotti

My first time in and I couldn't have felt more comfortable. I'm not an expert and the assistant manager treated me with nothing but respect. Literally helped me find everything in the store. Got me signed up for upcoming sale, and email ads. I will be going back again, for sure.

Great little store for woodworking supplies and tools. The store is small but it's packed with supplies and pretty much all the tools you need. They also offer woodworking training, which is a great way to get a woodworking hobby started. Staff is very knowledgeable and helpful.

I stopped in at Rockler Woodworking on Thunderbird in Phoenix, AZ to get some help with my dresser draw that had broken. The Manager John went above and beyond in helping me. I now have a drawer that work’s correctly. Thanks for all the TLC you added to my project John!!

  • Zachary Terry

John was very helpful! I’ve never done woodworking, but needed a new shelf put in place over a door frame, he was helpful in finding the right wood and cutting it to size. Would return again for any woodworking questions. They were patient and professional.

  • david allan

Dean was very helpful in my dust collection project. Those fittings from one part of the hose to the next part are always a pain. He pointed out a simpler way of doing it. It saved me about 50% on what was looking like a $500 project to put in two systems

  • Austin

Extremely helpful staff. Everywhere I turned there was someone who offered to help me. I went in looking for a fix for my broken plantation shutters, and they knew exactly what I needed. I will definitely be back to this store for any future needs.

I was searching for power tools for my cabinet shop and came across this place. The staff there was really friendly and helpful. The store itself was well-organized and had everything nicely displayed. I'll definitely be going back there again.

  • Andrea W

I spent the last 3 days trying to find replacement hinges for my 20-year-old oak cabinets. I was sent on a wild goose chase all over town. Went to 3 different Home Depots (they all have varying inventory) and 2 Ace Hardware stores (they are

Overall, I keep coming back. I am a new woodworker. My experience is that most of the employees are helpful (there is at least one I steer clear of - no John, it's not you) and I can trust them to give good recommendations without trying to

I went to rockler years ago and one of the associates helped other customers before me even though I asked first. When I asked him again a third time he got all defensive and put the blame on me for the lack of service. That’s when I lost
