"The departure displays on west end of platform 8 are very blurry, and have been for some time (more than 3 years) - I'm surprised they haven't been fixed"
"Disgusting parking prices $80 for just UNDER 3 hours, their cheap trash machines tap to pay did not work forcing me to go all the way up BY STAIRS to the top level to get a credit card from the car and back down again to pay which raised the cost from $70 to $80! Find parking elsewhere because these morons will rip you off and the bums are too cheap to hire an onsite worker for any issues like I and another guy encountered with the pay machines"
"Don't know why they say it's easier to commute on the express train at Rom st,as it isn't!! Central's alot easier with more lifts & escalators"
"I would like to thank you Roma street station staffs on duty on 19/10/2018 from Brisbane to Sydney"
"After waiting over a year for the completion of platform 10 area pickup to be completed, for those travelling from country towns and cities to access Brisbane hospitals, I was told today by one of the security guards that both my elderly parents have to walk a distance where they can be picked up from"
The departure displays on west end of platform 8 are very blurry, and have been for some time (more than 3 years) - I'm surprised they haven't been fixed. Construction under way for the new underground platforms (Cross River Rail), temporary entrance, and closed footpaths nearby (so they can leave their rubbish bins there). A lot of trains have maintenance issues, such as doors that do not open, and pa systems that cut in and out, so messages don't make sense. Large train and bus station at the edge of the CBD with 11 platforms (2 bus platforms numbered 1-2, 9 train platforms numbered 2-10). Plenty of vending machines (soft drinks, chips, chocolate, phone chargers). Escalators and stairs to all platforms, disabled access via lifts. Close to the new coach terminal, Roma Street Parklands and law courts. Short walk to the City Hall and Suncorp stadium. Don't expect to find any cheap or convenient parking nearby. If you want to get here, catch a train (or bus). There is a drop-off/pickup area, but between there and any platform other than 10 requires 3 escalators and crossing the road. There are no lockers or any luggage storage.
Disgusting parking prices $80 for just UNDER 3 hours, their cheap trash machines tap to pay did not work forcing me to go all the way up BY STAIRS to the top level to get a credit card from the car and back down again to pay which raised the cost from $70 to $80! Find parking elsewhere because these morons will rip you off and the bums are too cheap to hire an onsite worker for any issues like I and another guy encountered with the pay machines. He was on the phone trying to contact the company for over 10 minutes in a queue all the while being charged for parking because again, he couldn`t pay.
Don't know why they say it's easier to commute on the express train at Rom st,as it isn't!! Central's alot easier with more lifts & escalators. The underground subway at Central alot easier & more comfortable at catching the express as Roma st isn't always on the same platform either so having to get off a train on 1 platform & go to the other too. It's harder leaving the station here too given it's a longer walk & despite if you're going to a courtroom in the area it's probably better & cheaper to drive instead.
I would like to thank you Roma street station staffs on duty on 19/10/2018 from Brisbane to Sydney. I arrived at the station 10 minutes before the departure time and I was walking from platform 9 all the way to platform 2 with one big suitcase. The staff called Peter walked towards me and help me carry the luggage all the way to platform 2. Thank you Peter and the gentlemen at the check in gates ( both ends) and the lady checked my ticket. You are all very helpful!
After waiting over a year for the completion of platform 10 area pickup to be completed, for those travelling from country towns and cities to access Brisbane hospitals, I was told today by one of the security guards that both my elderly parents have to walk a distance where they can be picked up from. The only temporary parks near the platform are available to the disabled and authorised vehicles. Gone are the parks nearest the platform for ease of access.
If you have to drop passengers to the station and intend driving there forget it, the car park has been closed and there is no alternative drop point. Direction signage is some what obscure and non existent to and when you eventually find the platform any assistance is also somewhat lacking especially if your helping the elderly. Strongly recommend you make alternative arrangements.
Eatery extremely expensive and nothing that I want to eat (they don't even have anything that I could attempt to force myself to eat). Liquid refreshments also expensive. There's no competition from other eateries because they are the only one available. Not everyone wants to pay restaurant prices for a basic sandwich .
Love the eatery upstairs! lots to choose from. Always busy though especially around school finishing hours. On peak hours are dreadfully busy and trains are packed to the brim. Vending machines on each platform and friendly staff! Toilets also have audio so you know when your train is coming. Great place!
I've used public transport systems in many cities in Australia and out. 3 weeks in and I don't think I'm going to need a car for work and that's saying something, since I am doing temp work therefore moving around a lot. I want to commend the staff at Roma station for being so helpful and always smiling.
Great interchange station in Brisbane, love the atmosphere and serenity. The trains are usually on time and the staff are helpful. The transit centre is very dated and is in need of an upgrade, the cross river rail project is going to fix that anyway to better the station and I'm excited for that
Passenger pick up/drop off is ok via Roma Street parklands. Signage needs to be improved for passengers (like at the airport). Easier for someone to be picked up near the taxi stand (for elderly) instead of making them go up the escalators/lifts again to the Parklands (where that cafe is).
14 December, platform 8, 9am train to ipswich - staff on platform 8 did not let 7-8+ people in the train on 9am ON THE DOT. However train was still there for good 3-4 minutes. "Take the next train", how about you put your ego back. No customer service, get your staff trained right.
Travel often to central Queensland ... Baggage check in and platform staff very helpful and friendly . Disappointed platform coffee shop not open although I was directed to garden cafe across the road by staff, which was lovely. Platform 10 amenities clean
It's alright for trainspotting. The bus platform adds another cool place to film. Although, I was filming on the Traveltrain platform and was told to step back a bit, which is acceptable, for safety concerns. But a cool station anyway.
The elevator to platform 8 & 9 is always broken and the escalator goes in the wrong direction what do you do when you have a disability or are supporting someone in a wheelchair This is totally wrong and you can never find any staff
Nous étions dans un hôtel à deux pas de cette gare, ce qui a facilité nos déplacements vers l'extérieur du centre ville Un grand merci au personnel pour leur accueil, leur sourire et leur disponibilité …
The intercity section of this Station needs a good clean. I realise the building is earmarked for replacement but in the meantime it leaves an extremely poor impression for tourists to Brisbane.
Awful experience for a refund since 02/01/23. Poor customer service skills from staff and manager. They lie about a policy and make me wait almost 1 hour.No.polocy no refund, how sad.
Disgusting old station, all the train that is used are also old and pretty disgusting. Seems like they are good at taking people's monies but not good at spending it!
Thank you to two staff members that assisted my father this morning to get to my car as he was having difficulties walking. You were fantasic. Thanks again.
An excellent huge train station with 9 platforms! A lost property office! A coffee cart! A food coùrt! Cafes! A newsagents! Escalators to the platforms!
It's a very nice train station and the fact it leads to anywhere you would want to go is also a plus .. I think it's a heart for most trains
Why does this place close at night? What are the opening hours? Why isn't there an all station train for most lines departing every 2 hours.
Need Storage lockers. Even if only on Platform 10. As a medical patient. I can't cart my luggage around for hours after my appointments
Dont go there on a hot humid day. Is like a hot sauna- with no ventilation through the undergound walkway and Platform 9 is just as bad
The staff were very friendly and helpful as i had no sense in how to read a google map so well done for helping me out
Great spot as an interchange for buses and trains. It's old and a bit clean but looks dirty. Easy to move around.
Very busy and crowded train station. Be prepared to cross over to another platform to catch your connection.
Dan was a great bloke but the platform change was obdurate to my needs. A mixed bag. Buyer beware.
Put some staff on to answer phones. Everytime I ring, and done it for days, busy congested.
Literally one of the worst stations in Australia I have ever seen. So disgusting.
It is a big station which is a building site at present due to metro developments
Much nicer place to change trains than central, alot more bright, open and airy
Boarding the Spirit of Queensland... absolutely brilliant...
Too many people trying to get through broken gates, fix it.
5 stars for the laughs
…
nice station
