Roti Place has long been a trusted favourite on my dining circuit. There's something irresistibly appealing about their menu that keeps me coming back. Their salted egg yolk prawn or chicken is almost at the point of perfection. Never failing to satisfy the taste buds. The roti kaya, a timeless classic, is always a must-order, a comforting staple that never disappoints. For seafood enthusiasts, the spanner crab’s are recommended, though I personally prefer to keep my hands clean and stay away from that stuff. Despite my hands-off approach to this dish, its popularity amongst friends is undeniable. Overall, Roti Place is a great restaurant that has earned its reputation over many enjoyable meals. This review may have been a long time coming, but my endorsement is without reservation. Without doubt, I'll continue recommending and going here. Edit: went there again on the 23/9/23. My friend was feeling adventurous and ordered the squid dish with the beans (which had been highlighted as a chef recommendation). To put it this way, I avoided eating that dish. I had a great experience here. The service was decent, the guy at the front greeted me and quickly seated me. They were quick and friendly with their service. The interior of the restaurant was quite nicely set out with the greenery and the lighting. I liked it a lot! The menu was extensive and actually quite difficult to choose from as so many of the dishes sounded delicious. I ended up choosing the nasi lemak and plain roti. I had no regrets (other than probably not being able to eat more!) Both dishes were presented well, and their tastes did not disappoint. The nasi lemak was tasty, with a good ratio of meat to rice to veggies. They also had a crisp cracker on top, adding a pleasant texture and taste! The roti was amazing. The texture was good, the crispness and the taste. It wasn’t overly oily and the addition of the curry really brought out the flavours too!! I highly recommend and hope I can try of their roti. Would recommend coming here and I’m definitely looking to come back in the future!

Had been here a few times in the past two years and it was not bad, so we decided to have dinner here again last Wednesday night. Ordered Malaysian fish curry, Hainanese chicken and Sambal Sotong. To be honest, sorry I have to say that it’s a bit disappointing. The food was just mediocre and the service was… I know they are always very busy and working very hard. However, they should be more professional, especially in such a crowded and narrow place please don't run, no matter how busy you are. And I reckon the owner should really hire more waiters or waitresses and provide them with more professional training as sometimes it's just too confusion and disorder.

Ok my favorite place when I miss Malaysian/Singaporean food. The roti is one of the yummiest in Brisbane and actually reminds me of the authentic ones when i lived in Singapore. The hainanese chicken was also good. So was the char kway tiao though I must admit the ckt does not win over the hawker uncle in SG that made my favorite ckt! Also roti tisyu!!!! Love love this dessert tower of thin roti and they have it. Can't sing enough praises for Roti Place enough to be honest. Service is also pretty fast. It isn't too long of a wait. (They also have chili crab!! I haven't tried it yet but someday!)

Month of visit: End of November 2023 First time trying this restaurant because the other place were closed. Love the atmosphere, clean, cool, comfy and we do love asian food! The mee goreng was the best menu that we tried, their laksa is also good although i felt the vermicilli was a bit too much. The nasi goreng is so so, the rice is a bit soft for me but maybe its their style? Was hoping the cendol was as legit as cendol in Indonesia but it tasted more like a fresh milk, wished the melaka sugar/gula merah was a bit more. But i love the res bean! Overall a nice place with nice food i think will come back for their mee goreng!!

Location is good just the parking will be somehow difficult to get. It is right at the city or few minutes walking from Queen Street. As a Malaysian I'm quite surprised by the roti and it is actually good. Just the price is quite expensive. Guess it is a normal price in Australia. Their tap beer is cheap tho. One of the place selling cheap beer around CBD. Hanan chicken rice is good. The environment is not bad. Overall worth a visit

Very delicious! We got salted egg yolk prawn, roti canai and roti kaya. The prawn was a very nice flavour, slightly crispy and coated in a fluffy savoury batter. A very nice flavour. The prawn was nice and chewy. The roti canai was very crispy and well done. It ripped into nice fluffy layers. The curry was flavourful and great for dipping. The roti kaya for was a very hearty dessert because it was nice and warm. It was very satisfying and not overly sweet. The pandan and coconut flavour was also distinct.

My partner and I live in London. We've sampled most of the best tasting Malaysian cuisine on offer there but this restaurant here in Brisbane offers a curry and roti that is comparable to the quality and standard of London restaurants without the London price tag. Excellent quality food and surprisingly fast service, even during a busy dinner service. If you love Malaysian cuisine as much as we do, go to the Roti Place. You won't be disappointed.

Food is well presented, prepared and made quickly. Prices are fair and the wait staff are excellent. I think the manager should increase their rate, whatever it is. Flavour of the food varies, while a roti dish (chicken curry) was excellent, an off-the -menu dish was less convincing and appeared to be under-seasoned. This restaurant is very busy, and is quite loud. I would not bring my first date here as you will both be straining to talk intimately!

What a nice surprise!! We are in love with Roti Place, was our first time trying some Malaysian food and we loved it. We've here twice already, the first week we tried the Nasi Lemak, some rotis and Mi goreng I think, while we're eating we saw this huge bowls going to different tables but we're already full.☺️ So we decided to come back and try their soup and OMG I was shocked at how good it was the Combination Laksa!! (now one of my favorite dishes) the Nasi Goreng was good too but the soup was the best. The staff is gentle and young. I really recommend this place, give it a try!! Thanks Roti Place.
Fresh buttery roti but slow and inattentive service. Went in on Sunday afternoon restaurant only 1/3 full, friendly door service however service dropped quickly afterwards. Didn't get served or noticed until 25 mins after given our seats. Other larger groups that came in after was served before us. Food comes out different time. Ordered 2 mains, 1 comes out first. Ive finished my main and my partner's main hasn't even come out yet. Ordered and finished 2 starters while still waiting for that 2nd main. Restaurant is clean and had a nice atmosphere.

Ordered curry chicken with dry noodle, hainanese chicken rice, fried chicken wings and a Teh Tarik. The chicken curry with noodles was okay, chicken rice was good, chicken wings was nothing special. Teh tarik wasn’t too sweet so worked for me. Overall the food was good enough to get an Asian hit but no standout dishes. Maybe I should try the char kway teow next? Good spot for a quick meal

Stopped in today at roti place to try my favourite Malaysian dish nasi lemak, it hit the spot perfectly but could have done with more sambal and a side plate as the plate is jammed pack and hard to get everything mixed up. I was confused about he ordering system at first I was shown to my table and then told to go back to the counter to order.. Other then that lovely experience and will return on my next journey to brisbane or maybe before my flight tomorrow ♂️

Pretty good Malaysian food. The roti was of the sweet and flaky type and accompanying curry sauce was very tasty though quite salty. The har mee had strong prawn stock flavour and was on the spicier side. The Hainanese chicken was better than many other examples I have tried recently. The standout for me was the oatmeal chicken, sweet, crispy and with a nice curry leaf flavour. Service was good. I'd go back to try more.

First time to Malaysian restaurant. Restaurant was full and I went with out reservation as it was last minute decision. Staff was so attentive and accommodated me. Tried fish curry in coconut sauce with authentic Malay roti . It was amazing and portions were too big for one person. Just a suggestion for management about the table arrangements in the restaurants. It’s too close to other tables and staff couldn’t able to move freely to serve customers. Rest all good

Good serving size Good service Food is presented well and made quick Recommend the salted egg prawns massive serving size Roti Laksa is a bit more bland to me personally but I like it when I want something easy to drink Bak Kut Teh- nowhere near comparable to Yahoo’s or homemade for that matter but man the serving size is good, and when you’re just 1 person wanting a good soupy fix for when you’re sick, it absolutely does the job.

Great value of foods, many authentic food choices from Southeast Asia. The place is suitable for gathering, so it isn't quiet here. The staff is friendly and polite. I ordered Hainanese chicken rice, which tastes yummy. The chicken is fair enough, but the oil rice tastes nice. The store is located in Brisbane CBD, which is convenient for transport.

The closest Malaysian food you can get in Brisbane. Almost everything is yummy, especially their Hainanese chicken rice that comes with the perfect chilli and ginger sauce. Nasi lemak is yummy too and the sambal is spicy. I also love their roti canai and curry chicken.

Good location in the middle of the city, parking is horrendous but it is close to Myer centre. This place definitely gives off chic Malaysian vibes. They have a good menu and definitely tasty food. It’s not the best of the best Malaysian food there is but for what they are and what it’s worth, they ticked every Malaysian box. Also, your nostrils would be met with familiar Malaysian aromatics as you enter this joint. Highly recommend the crab dishes given the price point!
The restaurant offered a wide range of Malaysian food - not 100% authentic I assume but of really good taste. The fried shrimps were amazingly cooked and the fried rice was really tasty as well. The food was not too spicy so everyone could take it. Highly recommended.

Authentic Malaysian food, large portions and full of flavours. Only downside service, very much lack of, we had to go up to ask for things even though it's table service. Staff did not even announced last order when we wanted to order dessert. Overall food is great but maybe extra hands will improve service.
