I have been here a few times now, one of the clubs that I belong to seems to just love this place. The service here has always been phenomenal. The wait staff is very friendly and will go that extra mile for your table. That being said, the food is just okay. It is rather pricey for the quality that you are getting. You can see by the menu that they are trying to be innovative, but the delivery is lacking. If it wasn't for the friendly service, I don't know that I would go back. No local craft beer on tap. Very limited selection for beer drinkers. This pub used to have a beautiful view of Runway 29, which is where it got its name. I don't know what the future brings for their view, but for now it's pretty fantastic. The pub is located above the Tim Horton's across from Kingsway Mall. I am sure I will be back again for more meetings, but it will likely be just for drinks.

If you are ever in the area you have to try this place. The wife and i went in for a quick bite to eat and Christine, the waitress was super special. She suggested the nachos were on sale so i ordered them and a salad for us to split. It was my fault not to check the nachos had olives because i am allergic to them. When they came out Christine saw my reaction and questioned. I admitted it was my fault i did not ask for the olives to be removed. She said "no problem" and took them back and brought me a new plate of nachos without olives. Way to go above and beyond Christine! She also asked to mention Michelle because it was busy when we were there and the food quality was awesome and it came out fast. Thanks girls. Take the time to check it out even if you are over at the Kingsway mall. Its just across the street. You wont be disappointed.

Lost hundreds of dollars on the VLTS lol but it was still a blast. Hidden gem forsure. very beautiful we found it by mistake and it's really nice, all dim lit black setting and the VLTS have a nice little room of their own. 5 or 6 vlts and a sitting area in that with 3 tables and lots of chairs surrounded by glass windows that look at kingsway mall. The restaurant area is big with tons of tables a fireplace I believe. Lots of parking. Nice staff. Not cheap pricing but not crazy expensive like steak sandwiches type deal. Like a higher class brew pub where no one judges lol they have a happy hour but it's only drinks and i only inquired about the high balls which were 5$ i believe and I'm not positive the times of the happy hour. Me and my boyfriend are usually alone in the VLT room and restaurant most the time. Worth the drive forsure

I am not one to leave reviews, but after the experience with my Mother and Grandmother today I feel I need to. What a 5 star experience all around! The actual restaurant is beautiful with the decor and colours chosen, with large windows for lots of natural light, being on the second floor also adds a more elegant feeling, and the bathrooms were very clean and well kept. Our server was awesome as we felt very comfortable from when we walked in, taking the order, bringing out the order, checking on us, bringing a take home box, to paying was all a very lovely experience! We all ordered the Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo with Bannock, by far the best I have had, fresh ingredients and full of flavour with large portions. We will definitely be coming back with others, and spreading the word of this hidden gem in the City, well done Runway 29!

Food is in large portions, prices are reasonable, but taste is quite hit-and-miss. My colleagues swear by this place, but somehow my less-than-pleasant experiences seem to persist every time... First visit, my steak literally tasted a bit rotten (trust me, as a person who recently went through university, I know a thing or two about eating expired meat) and they tried to convince me that's how it's "aged". Second visit, their payment machines were down, and they kept me waiting for 40 minutes before finally deciding to keep a tab and making me come back to pay at a later time Third time, my wings were so overcooked some of them were charred black. And my colleague sitting beside me never received her entrée. The apologized profusely, but what the hey right? Anyways, they're not the worst, but don't have high expectations.

Went here for lunch with some friends and had a good visit. It was very quiet so a great place to chat. The service was mixed, though always conducted with a smile. The downside was the food. It took a while to get served, then the pizza took longer than it should've, to the point where my table companions were getting worried. Then it arrived, and the top was overdone like it'd been under a broiler or something and though still good, it would've tasted great otherwise. Overall I was pretty disappointed and would've traded the smiles for prompt service and well cooked food. But in fairness this was only my first visit and it looked like perhaps there was some deliveries and other stuff going on when I was there.

Substandard service during the day with only five occupied tables which would consist of one person each the server was more concentrated on the VLT players I had a clubhouse sandwich that completely fell apart I felt like I had to use a knife and fork to eat it it was chopped up chicken on sourdough I asked for Brown the bacon was not soft or pliable chewing it was like eating beef jerky it seems like they were carrying over stock from breakfast and they should have used it for potato skins.. the website does not match the current decor this is a Best Western?? Who are these people kidding

A delightful experience for a first visit to the Runway 29 which our server, Chris informed us has been around for many years with the municipal airport which once used to be across the road from this Best Western Timmy's and Runway 29 located on the 2nd Floor. The soup and salad served with delicious bannock was absolutely yummy as was the burger served with delicious not greasy fries! Definitely will be stopping over when visiting Kingsway Garden Mall across the road! The healthy plants nurtured by the staff give an excellent ambience to this joint in our city!

It's a very casual style lounge, so its atmosphere is just that. No frills except for a little fireplace alcove on the side. The server was also new and nervous, but he did pretty well overall. My partner and I had some nachos and drinks, with a bannock dessert to finish. The nachos were good - I liked that they included banana peppers - and the bannock with chocolate dip was very yummy. I'll be glad to come back to this place to eat again, hopefully with friends in tow.

Stayed at the adjacent hotel and had the $9 breakfast. It was so good! Pancakes were unreal and the eggs were cooked perfectly. Coffee was good and we were offered free fresh fruit which was lovely. The service was great, attentive without being over bearing. You can definitely tell it's a bar that's been repurposed, but that being said when I think of a bar with VLT's in it I usually think of a seedy place but this didn't seem bad at all. Would definitely return!

Had dinner here twice during our stay. Food is decent, nothing special; portions are huge, bring an appetite. Burger was good, massive and juicy. Drink selection a little dissapointing. Excellent service, and the place is not too busy, at least during dinner time. Huge second floor windows provide a great view of the surrounding area (not that there's much to see). A bit pricy for the quality of food but overall not a bad choice if you're staying at the hotel and don't feel like venturing out far.

The food was good, but I was shocked to be hit with a mandatory tip on the bill(we were a group of 9, but the ONLY people in the restaurant. Then when using the payment device, I was prompted to give ANOTHER tip! The waitress seemed unimpressed that I picked up on this and didn't give a second tip. She didn't thank me for my business. Some of my coworkers weren't as lucky and ended up tipping twice. SHAME SHAME for not telling people you had mandatory tipping!

I was staying at the hotel that this restaurant is attached to, and figured I would go to it so I didn't have to go out to dinner. I was happy with the food. Its simple, but tastes great. They also offer room service to the hotel, and if you're staying there, that is a huge plus. They have a menu that offers breakfast options as well as options that are versatile so as to be used for lunch or dinner. I would recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

Disgusting. I found a hair in my poutine. I also ordered dry garlic ribs and got boiled ribs. Told me they don't sell dry garlic ribs but have it on the menu. I had also called to make a complaint and they said I had to contact door dash to complain. I told them that they were the ones who cooked the food. Got put on hold then told that their door dash wasn't even working. No good. Worst experience ever for trying them for the first time.

Food was pretty awesome didn’t take very long to get it , good wait times . Good drinks . The best thing I like is there hash browns . The service was amazing super friendly servers ! The atmosphere was good not to loud good music ! Beautiful natural lighting on the 2nd floor .

Absolutely great service. Staff are very friendly and were able to make excellent beverage recommendations. Christina who is new deserves special mention. She went above and beyond and was honest about what she didn't know. The mamager was very personable and gave excellent directions. The food for us was ok. Not exactly great but there was plenty of it. I would definitely recommend this place.

Food is inexpensive n delicious... Food servers are kind n very helpful with meals... I was very impressed by the way the waiter was able to change my salad into a gourmet salad fit for a kind by changing the dressing n telling me to pit the dressing he feels is fit with the feta cheese n the rest of the salad... It was absolutely wonderful n delicious... Thanks to staff n management...

What a hidden gem. Many local beer to choose from (Snake Lake from Sylvan Lake, Analog & The Growlery from Edmonton) plus a classic bar menu of tasty food. I've had the pizza a few times and it was fantastic. Lovely view as the sun sets too (it overlooks Kingsway mall, NAIT, & the old city centre airport) Very bright & welcoming. Remember, it's located on top of the Tim Hortons.

I really enjoyed it! It is fairly pricey, however the portions are massive! I had the club wrap and the mexican salad so far and the wrap was good, but fries were fairly basic. The salad was massive and i got it with pulled pork and it was delic! Not many drinks available but had the original 16 copper ale both times and it was good. Overall a great experience; would recommend!

Generally love this place but I am desperate for them to clean their beer lines! The last several times we have gone, several months apart, the draft beer has been so sour and borderline undrinkable. Would have written to them directly about this but I can’t seem to find a website or contact info. Otherwise, great selection of craft beer, lovely servers and awesome food.

It is quiet, affordable, and there's free parking. I think the food is good, but I always have their cheap specials. It was recently renovated so you can't see the VLTs from the restaurant section. There are giant windows that give a nice view, though it may be a bit chilly near the windows in winter. You can adjust the shades to keep the sun out of your eyes.

We come here at least once a month and get the dill pickle Caesar and split a clubhouse. Best clubhouse in the city. The Caesar comes with a deep fried dill pickle and some bacon. It’s perfection. Service is always great and the people are lovely. One of our favourite spots in the city.

Good food and service but no swaying from the menu. Could not get a simple drink not on the menu, although ingredients obviously on the bar. Entree came with mash potato and cannot substitute for fries without paying $9 for a side of fries. Although a bit pricey sadly the options kill the otherwise great experience. Will not return.

Very quiet, homely feel and the staff is extremely friendly. The food is definitely on the more expensive side, but the servings are also very large. The location can be a little bit tricky to get to, but that probably lends itself to the feel of the place. I've been a couple times and definitely recommend this place!

Really quite pleasantly surprised with the aesthetic and overall demeanor of the place. Unfortunately I didnt have time to try the food but my mouth watered as plates were served, the aroma was intoxicating. Had some luck on a vlt which is always a bonus. Overall I'm impressed and will be back in the near future.

Pizza was soooo lame. No toppings, barely any cheese and 30$ for a large. Super thick dough no sauce at all. What an absolute let down. Bought pizzas for my crew and this is the first time we've ever had leftovers. 3 out of 10

Really enjoyed our dinner here tonight. My wife and I along with our 16 year old daughter had dinner. The service was fantastic. The food was great and the prices were very reasonable. Was planning on taking a photo of my beef dip, but I was hungry and it looked great, so I ate it.

Food is amazing and affordable price. I loved the Bannock eggs Benny, baked salmon and mushroom burger. Only con is they bring the bill all together when you havnt asked for the bill when we were in a group of 4. But fantastic service, we ate there 6 times in 2 days.

This place was busy when I was there, the servers were being overworked, and the manager wasn’t helping the staff at all. I think that’s disgusting behaviour and a terrible way of running a business. Don’t go there, the food is disgusting and the drinks are worse.

Was looking for somewhere good to eat after shopping at Kingsway Mall and decided to give Runway 29 a shot. My partner and I both had roast beef dinners that were very good. Excited to come back again!!

Used to be a great pub, but they're now classified as a restaurant. Packed with kids last night. And the service was slower than I've ever experienced. I'll probably give them another try, but if this is their new normal, I'll take my group somewhere else.

Hidden Gem This has to be one of the best restaurants for breakfast in the city. The great view, food and exceptional service is phenomenal. Shout out to Zilfa for always making our experience memorable.

I've been to this particular Tim Hortons many times. Staff are as all Tim Hortons courteous and prompt. Food is always served hot and fresh with a big smile. Lots of parking with limited handicap spots.

Service was great, food not so much. Bannock was really hard, way to much lemon in the hollandaise, dry parsley flakes as garnish. If you're on vacation and looking for good places to eat skip this one

This place rules. The food here was actually so freaking good. The elk burger was out of this world, nice craft beer. Would stay here again. It's good and worth it
