UNDERSTANDING RYDO: Created to allow most if not all Taxi Service drivers a platform to bid for work in their immediate region. Rydo offers the passenger a 6-8 minute service identifying the car number and the drivers name. Drivers are either owners or Bailee drivers with their own ABN number, leasing their car from a base or an owner, Rydo doesn't employ drivers. If a customer had a complaint against the car they have engaged they should call the company not Rydo. My Du Delligence revealed and I was amazed at the fixed costs associated in an Airport pick up, travelling from Sydney Domestic Airport to Homebush Olympic. Costs: 1. Airport pick up $5.10 2. Flag Fall meter $4.70 3. M4 to Homebush $11.11 Plus the metered fare , my recent experience was a total of $65.00. This was a standard day rate fare.
I prebooked a London taxi on the Wednesday and paid for the trip in full to be picked up at 2pm on Saturday. Saturday 1:50pm comes around and I get a text message saying my trip has been cancelled and have a good day. I call them straight away and ask what’s going on. They say that no drivers accepted the job you we will refund you within 5 days. WHAT!!!!!!! I talk to the lady and say that I prebooked 4 days in advance but then the driver didn’t accept the job… As a small business owner, don’t give you customers problems, give them solutions… why not organise another car. Now I’m left running late and have to organise another car. You created a problem for your customer to deal with!!! NOT HAPPY!!!
If I could give - I would. He asked if we wanted to take toll I said ok if not much more. Forty minutes later early afternoon weekday his metre says$85 with extra $10 for toll! Hadn’t been to Sydney for 5 years I thought geez prices gone up alot. When hotel luggage handler saw it he nearly had a heart attack on the spot. Took an Uber back during peak hour on Friday night $39!!! I thought I took the Rydo drivers number plate but as I was in shock I obviously didn’t take photo properly as I couldn’t find it! Never again will I ride with this company!!!!
Caught a Rydo taxi from Sydney Domestic Airport to a local Mascot hotel, less than 5 min drive. Charge was $40. When questioned driver said that was the fare because it was the weekend. Asked hotel staff, they said $20 max should have been cost. Spoke to the Rydo telephone operator, who said sadly this is happening more & more, and to put in a complaint. Put in a complaint, no response. Lodged a complaint with the ombudsman who said it was something they hear about regularly, but are unable to do much about. Beware!
I booked a taxi to go to the airport two days in advance. On the same day of the flight, I received two different text messages giving me the details of two different taxi drivers. I ran late only 5 min from the time that I booked the taxi. The taxi was not there so I rang the mobile number that the company provided. Nobody picked up. I called two more times and still no answer. It was very stressful because I had to catch an international flight. I do not recommend this company to anyone.
I pre booked a taxi to take me to hospital for an appointment I was waiting for 15 minutes and got a message to call the driver and I did he asked me where are you going and hanged up on me. I kept waiting and I called again to receive a message saying I can’t take you. I couldn’t believe driver responded to me in such a manner . So unprofessional and rude I was lucky that my neighbour saw me standing outside for a while and took me to my appointment . It is outrageous service.
I called for a taxi, was told it would be there in ten minutes. After half an hour the cab had not arrived, when I phoned to check I was told that the cab driver said I was not there. No cab went past while I was waiting so the driver had obviously lied. I explained i had a plane to catch and I urgently needed a cab. I booked again and waited then received a text after 20 minutes saying they couldn’t find a cab near me for the booking. I would never use them again
A TOTAL SCAM!!! I caught a taxi from the airport to a nearby hotel (7 mins) and the guy tried to charge me $45!! He turned the meter off and then haggled. I checked with the hotel and they said the airport taxis at Sydney are known for ripping people off. Total scam. I would not have expected this is a country like Australia. Absolutely disgusting!! DO NOT USE. Get an Uber!!
Driver Ali without my consent gave my number out to a third part who started calling me at 6a:m. My travel receipt was even tampered. It's suppose to be Rousehill to Hurstville and this is what it shows. Waste of money and time. My fare should be refunded. What a dodgy driver. I booked via RYDO Ali switched me to a SPOTTO driver. That's breach of my privacy.
Terrible service . Operator had difficulty in taking down simple instructions i.e address . Hung up on me b 4 I could explain the urgency of needing transportation . I was attending a furneral . No taxi . No text . Called back only to be jnformed no druver was availble . NEVER again !
Criminal cartel that operates with meters running before you get in, demand up front fares with locked doors and refuse to take you unless you agree to to their extortionate pricing. Rydo are a bunch of thieves. If you photograph their cars and number plates they abuse you in Hindi.
Scam alert! At the end of my trip from Sydney airport to Newtown, the meter showed $37, the receipt showed $43 and I was actually charged $45. Every time I have used Didi or Uber, I have paid half of this amount for the same trip. @Rydo you need to hold your drivers accountable..
If I could give 0 stars I would! Don’t use this company. The driver was so rude when I said I I wanted to pay by cab charge. He said it was my fault for not telling him up front how I wanted to pay. I even called Rydo to try paying over the phone and the lady was just as rude.
Maxi cab didn't turn up to pick up group of 7. We were left stranded at midnight. They insisted we have cancelled our booking. Cancellation was from different phone number and under different name. Driver also didn't answer our first call. Won't be using Rydo again.
ZERO STARS!!! Confirmed a taxi, texted the drive to confirm and he said confirmed…. Due for pick up at 8am, get a text saying no driver has accepted and now here we are going to be late for our flight!!!! ARE YOU GOING TO REFUND OUR TICKETS?!?!!!!!! Hopeless.
I have just been charged $90 to go from the airport to coogee (the fair is normally 25-35). When he told me how much and I questioned it, he said it is 2x fair after 10pm!! I am disgusted at the cost! $90!!! - I will be contacting the company directly also.
We had a taxi pre booked to go to the international airport, it didn’t turn up after getting confirmation on our pickup, we tried to call and message the driver with zero response. We called a Uber which picked us up in 5 minutes and was $20 cheaper
Pre-booked a taxi and had no show at booked time. Contacted them on phone and I was told there was no taxi available and they cancelled my booking. I rang another taxi company and a taxi arrived in 8 minutes. Will not contact Rydo ever again.
Got a Rydo taxi #450 from a driver named Ali @ 11:30 this morning. He charged $107.00 from the airport to Glebe. 6 months ago the same taxi ride with another company charged me $34.00. Will definitely avoid Rydo in future.
10 minutes before we left I rang to confirm a taxi was coming and they told their still waiting for a driver. I cancelled and an Uber arrived in 3 minutes. First and last time, hopefully I’ll receive a refund.
I've been over charged be the taxi and tried calling and writing in to complain. There was no feedback at all, this is such unreliable taxi. Strongly suggest do not use their service and risk getting scam.
Second time pre-booked early morning trip a no show. Both occasions tried contacting driver to no answer. Serious waste of time, especially when you’re on your way to catch a flight, in the dark and cold.
They’re terrible, taxi driver asked for money before ride and wouldn't let us in the car until we paid, he didn’t want to use a taximeter…so rude and unprofessional, never again with them.

Ordered a cab from North Parramatta to Westmead Hospital the day before. No cab turned up resulting in a missed Doctors appt! Don't use them.

What a crook. Driver clearly has maxi taxi rates on the meter despite hailing as a solo traveller on the street in the CBD.
Complete Rip-off. Will never recommend to anyone. Charged me $173 for an airport transfer which would generally cost $110.
